In the hours after Sunday nights presidential debate, professional athletes rushed to Twitter to denounce Republican nominee Donald Trumps crude illustration of a locker room. Cheap Nike Air Max 90 Shoes China . Wrote former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, I was in an NFL locker room for eight years, the very definition of the macho, alpha male environment youre so feebly trying to evoke to protect yourself, and not once did anyone approach your breathtaking depths of arrogant imbecility.Locker rooms have been the focus of much attention in the days since The Washington Post released a 2005 recording of Trump bragging about his behavior with women, including grabbing them by their genitals without their consent. In a statement posted several hours after the tape was released, Trump called his words locker room banter, and he echoed that sentiment Sunday night.I dont think you understood what was -- this was locker room talk, Trump said. Im not proud of it. I apologize to my family. I apologize to the American people. Certainly Im not proud of it. But this is locker room talk.It shouldnt be a surprise that Trump rushed to the safety of the locker room to excuse his words. For years players, coaches and media have excused?crude language, hate speech, immorality and even criminal acts in actual locker rooms as toughening-up exercises, harmless hazing or even team bonding.Even as the world around it evolves, the sports sphere is still very much a haven for antiquated ideas, misogynistic beliefs and over-the-top masculinity. By making the locker room a sort of mythologized space where men are free to shed the morality and humanity of the outside world, were, in essence, excusing that behavior. When the Miami Dolphins locker room was splintered by the Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin bullying scandal, former players came out in droves to mansplain how Incognitos actions were just a part of locker room culture. Incognito called his words and actions an indication of the teams closeness and brotherhood. In case youve forgotten, Incognito regularly hurled slurs and threats at Martin, texted with a teammate about rifle scopes that are perfect for shooting black people and directed racial slurs at the Dolphins assistant trainer, who was born in Japan. The Dolphins fired offensive line coach Jim Turner and head athletics trainer Kevin ONeill in the fallout after a workplace harassment report was released, but multiple sources reported that Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland told Martins agent that Martin couldve stopped the bullying and avoided disrupting the team had he simply punched Incognito. And that sentiment wasnt just expressed internally, plenty of players-turned-media agreed that Martin shouldve retaliated with his fists. Not surprisingly, the solve it with violence strategy doesnt always produce the best results. A couple of years after the Dolphins incident, Jets quarterback Geno Smith missed two months of football and, ultimately, lost the starting job after getting punched in the face by then-teammate IK Enemkpali. A five-million dollar guy playing the most important position on the field was on the bench because of locker room culture. The locker room, no matter how different it may be from a boardroom, a factory or a cubicle, is still a workplace. Of course, each workplace will have different standards for whats deemed socially acceptable; a bar will have different standards than a kindergarten classroom. But a workplace should always feel safe -- physically, mentally and emotionally -- for all employees. Trump felt secure seeking solace in the notion of a locker room because for years weve made excuses for actions that should be inexcusable in any venue, under the cover of a culture that should have been left behind years ago.Its the same sort of thinking that goes on when schools send girls home to change clothes because their legs, arms, shoulders, collarbones or chest are distracting to boys. Arguing that boys will be boys and they cant be expected to control themselves is as insulting as assuming that grown men are incapable of acting appropriately in a locker room.So while I understand athletes wanting to put distance between themselves and Trumps comments, they -- and we -- should be just as invested in making locker rooms a place people no longer go to hide. NEW ORLEANS -- Allenzae Staggers set New Orleans Bowl records with 11 catches for 230 yards and also scored a touchdown to help Southern Mississippi beat Louisiana-Lafayette 28-21 on Saturday night. Wholesale NFL Jerseys .Nick Mullens, the Southern Miss all-time leader in yards passing and passing touchdowns, finished his distinguished career by throwing for 346 yards and two TDs.One of Mullens TD tosses was a 6-yarder to running back Ito Smith, who also rushed for 138 yards and two scores. However, Mullens turnovers helped the Ragin Cajuns keep the game competitive despite the Golden Eagles (7-6) outgaining ULL (6-7) 481 yards to 252.Mullens second-quarter fumble and fourth-quarter interception both led to Cajuns touchdowns, the latter on a short run by ULL quarterback Anthony Jennings that trimmed Southern Miss lead to 28-21 with 5:10 to go.ULL got the ball back once more, starting on its own 18-yard line with 2:02 to go, but Jennings overthrew a fourth-down pass as he rolled right.Jennings scored twice on runs for the Ragin Cajuns, who often struggled to move the ball through the air. A transfer who once started for LSU, Jennings completed 8 of 20 passes for 95 yards. He was intercepted once -- by Tarvarius Moore on the Southern Miss goal line -- and sacked six times, including three times by JaBoore Pool.REGROUPINGThe Cajuns composure was tested early. Mullens completed his first three passes for 127 yards and a touchdown to Smith, who also rushed for the games opening TD as the Golden Eagles took a 14-0 lead inside the first 8 minutes. But ULL methodically pulled itself back into the game, starting when Jennings led a nine-play, 66-yard drive capped by his 4-yard TD to make it 14-7. In the second quarter, Tremaine Lightfoots sack and strip of Mullens was scooped and returned 15 yards by Otha Peters to the Southern Miss 29, setting up a tying 12-yard TD run by reserve QB Dion Ray, who periodically ran plays out of a wildcat formation.TAKING THEIR TIMEAs the first half ended, Mullens rushed the Southern Miss offense to the line of scrimmage to try to spike the ball and stop the clock so the Golden Eagles could try a 45-yard field goal. The clock read zero after his spike, but officials ordered 1 second put back on the clock. Louisiana-Lafayette then used both of its remaining timeouts in an effort to disrupt kicker Parker Shaunfields rhythm. After the second timeout, officials decided to review the previous play and ruled that time had expired after all, ending the half in a 14-all tie.UP NEXTSouthern Miss: The first order of business is to find a replacement for Mullens, who leaves the Golden Eagles as the programs career leader in yards passing (11,994) and TD passes (87). Complicating that transition at QB is the departure of three-year starting center Cameron Tom and starting guards Oliver Bates and Brandon Farmer.Louisiana-Lafayette: The Cajuns are expected to apply to the NCAA for another year of eligibility for Jennings, but prospects for approval appear slim. The next QB could come from the junior college ranks. The offense also loses Elijah McGuire, who ranks second all-time in rushing for ULL, and top receiver Al Riles.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP-Top25 Jerseys NFL Cheap . DAL Wk. 12 #5.) Desmond King – 5 tackles, interception, touchdown, pass defendedDo you guys remember when the Chargers somehow snagged a former Jim Thorpe Award winner in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft?King’s fall down draft boards still befuddles many to this day. I mean ,could you imagine a defensive back that was just a year removed from leading the nation in interceptions and being named college football’s best defensive back falling that low?No. Nope. Never. After Telesco made it known he was selecting the former Hawkeye, he quickly became the most interesting draft prospect for the Chargers that year whose name wasn’t Forrest Lamp. Fans wondered where he was going to play, especially with the recent singing of Jahleel Addae to a new contract and the addition of Tre Boston in free agency. It didn’t take long for the coaching staff to realize that King’s skillset was best utilized in the slot where he could maximize his aggressive style of play against opponents’ running backs and tight ends. Once King earned a sizable share of reps just several games into the season Los Angeles Chargers T-Shirt , it was evident he could become one of the stickiest tacklers on the team.In what turned out to be a pretty-lopsided Thanksgiving Day victory against the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, King made good on a lofty promise he made on twitter before he was even drafted.Against a reeling Cowboys offense, King undercut an ill-advised pass to Cole Beasley from Dak Prescott and strode out the length of the field. Behind an animated Melvin Ingram leading the way, the rookie faced zero opposition on his way to the end zone. The interception by King was the most delicious cherry on top of a victory that was just oh-so sweet as the Bolts not only found a way to embarrass America’s team, but they were also able to do it in the “house that Jerry built.”

Powered by a dominant running game Desmond King Jersey , big plays from quarterback Philip Rivers and a rookie kicker who didn't miss in his NFL debut, the Chargers rolled to a 38-14 win on Sunday over the Cleveland Browns and rookie QB Baker Mayfield, who got little help from his teammates.Nearly two years after leaving FirstEnergy Stadium in disgrace after the Browns beat them for their only win in 2016, the Chargers (4-2) won their third straight and made sure their next few days would be enjoyable."Coming across the country and playing in a hostile environment, they executed well, Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. "That's the way it's supposed to look."Los Angeles will stay in Cleveland before flying later this week to England to face Tennessee on Sunday."It was good," said Rivers, the 36-year-old QB who continued one of the best starts of his 15-year career. "It was even better because we're going to be here a while. You don't let those negative thoughts creep in, but I was telling (defensive end) Melvin (Ingram) as were coming off of the bus, 'We can't lose this game and then stay four or five days.' I couldn't think of anything much worse."And that's no knock on Cleveland. The Chargers played their best all-around game this season against the Browns (2-3-1), who were competitive in their first five games but were overwhelmed by a Los Angeles team that might not be getting the attention it deserves.Melvin Gordon rushed for three touchdowns and 132 yards, Rivers connected with Tyrell Williams on two TDs and San Diego's defense sacked Mayfield five times and twice intercepted the No. 1 overall pick .The Chargers rushed for 246 yards on 36 carries, eating up yardage and time while taking some pressure off Rivers. Gordon scored on runs of 4, 10 and 11 yards for his first career three-TD rushing game."The guys up front were blocking," Rivers said. "We had a heck of a plan and they executed it. It's huge. We talk a lot about balance and I think that's what helps some of those run actions. We haven't had many days when we've ran more than we've thrown. From what I can remember Cheap Joey Bosa Jersey , those are fun. I'll take those any time we can get them."For Mayfield, his third career start was a tough lesson. He tweaked his ankle when he slipped on the sideline in the first quarter, and Mayfield was plagued by a few costly drops, including two by rookies Antonio Callaway and Damion Ratley in the first half that could have been TDs.Rivers complimented Mayfield for battling through a difficult day."He's a gritty, tough and competitive guy," Rivers said. "He has a heck of a career ahead of him. He made some really good throws today that were close. If I wasn't pulling against him to beat him, I would've said 'You should've caught those.' There were a couple of them that I thought they should've caught, but I'm glad they didn't."He's going to have a heck of a career. You can just tell in the way he commands. He was running no-huddles and doing all of that in his third or fourth start. He's going to be just fine."KICK STARTFor once, the Chargers stayed between the uprights."Well, we made all of our damn kicks," Lynn said, opening his postgame news conference. "All the extra points, all the field goals, so that's improvement."Rookie Michael Badgley kicked a 44-yard field goal and made all five PATs in his debut. He was signed Thursday and filled in for Caleb Sturgis, who has a quad injury and accuracy issues.Lynn said he's comfortable with Badgley Womens Michael Schofield Jersey , but left his kicking plans undecided.GROUND AND POUNDCleveland's defense yielded yardage in huge chunks. The Chargers had 12 offensive plays gain more than 15 yards, with seven picking up 20 or more."They punched us in the mouth early, up on the opening drive and they were just doing some things that obviously we couldn't stop," said safety Damarious Randall, who was in position to intercept Rivers in the end zone but had the ball pulled away by Williams for a 45-yard TD.WIDE WORLDThe Browns' extensive injury issues at wide receiver worsened when Rod Streater suffered a neck injury in the first quarter. Streater's loss left Jarvis Landry, Callaway and Ratley as the only healthy receivers. Ratley briefly left in the fourth quarter with an injury but finished with six catches for 82 yards.Cleveland signed free agent Breshad Perriman on Saturday, but he hasn't had time to learn the playbook and was inactive. Rashard Higgins (knee) and Derrick Willies (broken collarbone) are both out.Jackson conceded the Browns need help."We do, but nobody is going to cry about it right now," he said. "No other team cares about what our issues are. We have to fix them, and we will. We are just getting off of a game where we did not play as well. We will look at every avenue to fix whatever we think the issues are as we move forward so I am sure we will do that."Roster Watch: Craig Mager closing in on fifth cornerback spot Craig Mager is like a cockroach that just won’t die. You can bench him, banish him to the practice squad, even give his job to an undrafted free agent, and he just won’t go away. And, to the dismay of many, it seems Mager is poised to last at least another season with the Los Angeles Chargers.Yes Youth Casey Hayward Jersey , you read that right. With two weeks remaining in the preseason, and the week three “dress rehearsal” looming this weekend, the team continues to give every indication that Craig Mager has a virtual vice grip on what figures to be the fifth and final spot on the cornerback depth chart. As excited as the fans were about undrafted free agents Brandon Facyson and Tony Brown entering camp, the coaches have been even more excited about the perceived new-and-improved Craig Mager. They have repeatedly praised him for the way he handled his demotion to the practice squad in 2017, and Ron Milus, Gus Bradley and Philip Rivers have all praised his improved attitude and technique. You might say they’ve been effusive in their praise. They’re all but telling us he’s going to make the cut, folks. And, while I don’t remember Mager so much as being targeted in either preseason game, that probably only helps his case. I mean, as bad as he’s been in the past; it’s hard for him to do anything to hurt his cause if teams don’t challenge him. This is particularly true if the coaching staff is actively looking for a reason to carry him. What’s more, if the preseason rotations in the defensive backfield are any indication, Facyson and Brown aren’t really even nipping at Mager’s heels for that fifth spot on the depth chart, either. It looks to me like Jeff Richards, who spent all of last season on the Chargers practice squad, is currently the sixth corner on the depth chart Youth Joe Barksdale Jersey , and might also be the only player with a chance to unseat Mager. Richards has played every snap with the second team through two preseason games and hasn’t really done anything to help or hurt himself.Granted, Brandon Facyson played opposite Richards in Arizona, and had a pretty good game in doing so, but he was promptly shuttled back to the third team when Hayward returned against Seattle. While Tony Brown has functioned as Des King’s primary backup at slot corner in both games, I’m just not sure he’s done enough on defense or on special teams to overcome the deep ball he yielded against the Cardinals. What does all this mean? Well, for starters, barring a major change in the pecking order, it almost certainly means Craig Mager is going to be the fifth corner when the Los Angeles Chargers break camp at the end of August. But for all you Facyson and Brown fans, it likely also means they’re competing with Jeff Richards for what figures to be no more than two practice squad spots. Right now my money is on Richards and Facyson nabbing those spots. So, don’t be surprised if Craig Mager makes this team and, while we’re at it...please don’t shoot the messenger.

Cantrell was just starting to put things together and look good in camp. It’s unfortunate for the Chargers to have lost him, for now, but the team dodged a bullet with it just being a bone bruise, and depending on how this is handled he should be available later in the year.

a promising trait for any rookie quarterback. What the New York Jets displayed on defense and special teams may have been even more encouraging for Darnold and his teammates.Darnold threw an interception on the very first snap of his NFL career — and it was run back for a Detroit touchdown — but New York's quarterback shouldn't sweat that too much after the Jets stormed back and routed the Lions 48-17 on Monday night. Darnold threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns Authentic Lawrence Guy Jersey , and the Jets also scored on defense and special teams."We're going to play better every game, that's our goal," wide receiver Quincy Enunwa said. "Obviously you can't always make it happen, that's going to be what we're striving for. All three phases being successful, scoring on all three phases. When you can do that, you can be a pretty good team."Darnold earned the starting job after the Jets drafted him third overall in this year's draft. His performance alone was cause for excitement Monday, but on this night, New York seemed to have a pretty solid cast around him as well. The Jets intercepted Matthew Stafford four times in a dismal debut for new Lions coach Matt Patricia."Give the Jets credit. They obviously are the ones that played well tonight," Patricia said. "We have to do better, I have to coach better and we have to play better."New York scored 31 unanswered points in the final 9:36 of the third quarter after the Lions had tied it at 17. Darron Lee returned an interception for a touchdown, and Andre Roberts scored on a 78-yard punt return 67 seconds later. What we learned from New York's resounding win:REBOUNDDarnold's start to this game was pretty much the worst-case scenario. On the first play from scrimmage, his ill-advised throw sailed toward the left sideline and was picked off by Quandre Diggs, who returned it 37 yards for a 7-0 lead. That was Darnold's only major error, however. He not only showed he could play well in prime time on the road, he also showed he could handle adversity. The 21-year-old Darnold was the youngest quarterback to start a season opener since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. He was also the first quarterback to win his first start by 31 or more points since Tom Brady in 2001, per ESPN Stats & Info.STUCK IN NEUTRALThe Lions were unimpressive in the preseason, but it's always tough to tell how much that really matters. This opener confirmed this team has issues. It was the most lopsided loss for Detroit in an opener since a 45-0 shellacking at Washington in 1991. (Of course Authentic Shaq Mason Jersey , the Lions ended up making the NFC title game that season).Detroit had scored at least 25 points in seven straight season openers, an NFL record. That streak is now over.Perhaps most distressing, the Jets said they had a read on Stafford's signals."We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line," Lee said.NO BALANCEDetroit did a lot to try to shore up the running game this offseason, drafting Kerryon Johnson and adding LeGarrette Blount. It was enough of an overhaul that Ameer Abdullah was inactive for the opener. The Lions ended up with 39 yards on 15 carries. Blount ran four times for minus-3 yards. Not a good sign."I know it sounds crazy, but we're a lot better football team than we showed," tackle Taylor Decker said. "I think we all know that and we're all secure and comfortable with that. We'll get better moving forward."X-FACTOR?Maybe it was just poor coverage by Detroit, but Roberts also had a 43-yard punt return in the first quarter in addition to his touchdown.EXPECTATIONSOne victory doesn't make the Jets a Super Bowl team, but the lopsided nature of this one is hard to ignore, and now New York has winnable games the next two weeks against Miami and at Cleveland.Detroit is at San Francisco next weekend.Ryan Allen had one of the best punts of his career When New England Patriots punter Ryan Allen makes headlines, it’s rarely a good thing. Maybe he’s dropped a snap as a field goal holder, or maybe he’s shanked an ugly punt attempt. So when Allen launched an unbelievably beautiful punt that Jonathan Jones downed on the Houston Texans 1-yard line, I thought it would be a good thing to highlight the punt- and it turns out that this kick is arguably the best of Allen’s career. This was the second time in Allen’s career that he’s pinned an opponent on the 1-yard line, the other coming in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens in 2016 (he stuck the Ravens on the 2-yard line on a different punt that game), but this punt happened late in the fourth quarter. The stakes were pretty high as far as regular season punts are concerned. But despite the fantastic outcome, Allen felt like he could have done better.Well, even if Jonathan Jones had to down the football Womens Julian Edelman Jersey , Allen would have a hard time making a better kick than the 54-yarder to seal the victory against the Texans. I was curious to know if Allen had a better punt net percentage than the 54 of a limited 55 yards (98.2%) he picked up on this punt, so I went through every punt of his career.(I know Allen gained the maximum amount of yards from this punt. I wanted to give allowance for longer punts to be considered more impressive)It turns out that this was the second-best punt of Allen’s career, as his 56-yard punt against the Ravens that ended on the 1-yard line traveled two additional yards. The average Allen punt gains 63.3% of the yards to the opposing goal line, so picking up 98.2% of the yards is extremely impressive. Allen had a second punt against the Texans to the 9-yard line that is tied for the 50th best of his career and contributed to one of the best days of Allen’s career. When you look at Allen’s entire day, he gained 30.5% more yards than expected on his punts, the 17th-best day of his 6-year career. Allen’s in the middle of a hot streak, too, with five of his past six games ranking in the top 18 of his career (Allen didn’t punt in the Super Bowl so I’m not counting it).Allen’s best game? Also against the Texans, during Tom Brady’s suspension in 2016, where all seven of his punts landed in the red zone, six were inside the 15-yard line, and four were inside the 10-yard line. These incremental yards matter, as Belichick noted, because every little bit helps when the game comes down to a Hail Mary attempt.

Tom Brady: If your family’s anything like mine Youth Rob Gronkowski Jersey , it’s one of the questions you get almost as often as “So are you dating anyone?” at Thanksgiving and Christmas:“Have you thought about grad school?”Yeah, I’m pretty sure that grad school’s not quite the same as undergrad when you could show up in basketball shorts and a band t-shirt, pay attention for 10 minutes, pass out mid-lecture, update my fantasy football lineup, and shotgun 38 Rockstar Energy Drinks before finals, so, even if a few Patriots players think an MBA is “fun” and a “welcome change from football”...it really seems like it’d cut into my 20 hours of watching football on weekends, and Mondays, and even Thursdays, among other things. The list of Patriots receivers (and running backs and offensive linemen, for that matter) that’ve attempted to learn the New England offensive playbook and struck out is almost as long as the list of “who?”-type dudes that Bill Belichick has turned into local legends, household names, and occasionally, even All-Pro superstars. And isn’t it a bit weird that even though we hear a lot about how innovative and LOST-level-complicated the Patriots offensive playbook is, we don’t really ever hear many details about WHY it’s so tough and separates the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys, and the awkwardly feminine from the possibly Canadian?Leave it to Tom Brady himself to explain, and - let’s just get this straight for the self-aggrandizing meatheads that are somehow paid six figures to talk about this stuff - see, if you ask him about football, Tom loves to talk about football! Wild, right? From NESN:Gonna have to call BS on that last assessment of your skillz there Womens Elandon Roberts Jersey , Tom, but please go on.Want more on how complicated this offense is to learn? Of course you do. Check this out, courtesy of Chris Brown of Smart Football, writing for Grantland in 2013......hold on, I need a minute.R.I.P. in Peace, Grantland, and damn you, ESPN, for axing the only good thing you ever got your hands on besides the OG Sportscenter anchors.ANYWAY.Since this was written right after the 2012 season, when the Patriots had replaced their ‘07-’10 shotgun spread offense with a two-tight-end offense that was bamboozling defenses all over the league all over again, keep that glorious offense in mind.(I’m going to cherry-pick a few quotes here to make my point, but definitely read the whole thing and I guarantee it’ll put an evil smirk on your face the next time Brady runs no-huddle and goes from a 2-back set with the tight end in line and 2 receivers playing wide to a 5-wide look the next play with the same personnel.)So, starting with that, it’s the exact opposite of your flag football team where your QB just points to you and goes “9”, and you go deep. Why is that important, three-time Super Bowl champion Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis? For a specific example:That, in a nutshell, is what they mean when they say if you’re a receiver in New England, you don’t just learn your routes, you learn EVERY route on the play. Throw in Brady’s love of audibles based on the defensive look, the option routes that can make the difference between a guy like Julian Edelman sprinting right into coverage or into nothing but green grass, and Womens Rex Burkhead Jersey , oh, sometimes you’re going to need to do all that while you’re going no-huddle and sprinting back to the line to line up in a different formation than you did last time.THAT’S graduate-level.Remember that next time you want Dez Bryant or someone like that to come in and learn the playbook by kickoff.New England Patriots links 9/10/18 - Overreaction Monday: Pats’ D opens eyes TEAM TALKPost Game Notes and Records: Patriots remain undefeated at home against Houston.Gamebook: Full Texans-Patriots stats.Erik Scalavino recaps the Patriots Week 1 win from the press box at Gillette: A promising start.Paul Perillo shares his game observations: Defense contained Deshaun Watson and the Texans in a 27-20 win to open the season.Andy Hart’s Stock Watch: Gronk, Gilmore lead takedown of Texans.Post Game Quotes: Patriots and Texans.Post Game Pressers: Bill Belichick (8.39 min. video) - Tom Brady (4.41 min. video) - Rob Gronkowski (4.54 min. video) - James White (3.12 min. video) - Devin McCourty (1.24 min. video)Post Game Press Pass: Flowers, Develin, Dorsett, and Wise Jr. react to win over Texans. will beat the spread Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse — a survey of fans across the NFL Youth Stephen Gostkowski Jersey , powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Patriotsfans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse. The Matt Patricia era of the Detroit Lions has gotten off to a slow start with losses to both the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers. Patricia, the former New England Patriots defensive coordinator, was supposed to inject the Detroit defense with some new life, but they’ve allowed an average of 39 points per game.In Patricia’s defense Youth Julian Edelman Jersey , 7 points came on a pick six. It’s a weak defense. But now Lions fans aren’t believing in their team anymore and it’s showing up in the data. When we ask fans to predict the final score in our FanPulse survey, they typically provide homer results with their teams exceeding the Las Vegas projection. This isn’t the case with Detroit. The Patriots are 7-point favorites over the Lions and Pats Pulpit readers believe New England will win by 10 points. This is similar to the 4.5-point homer edge both Patriots and Jaguars fans had in week 2 and 1-point homer edge the Patriots fans had and 8-point homer edge (!!) that Texans fans had in week 1.Instead of leaning towards their team, Lions fans project the Patriots to win by 9 points. Lions fans are so down on their team they expect New England to cover the spread. That’s not good.I mean, I hope they’re right and that the Patriots crush the Lions, but that’s just disheartening to see. All I have to say is that the Patriots started the Bill Belichick era 0-4 and eventually 2-8, before turning it around in season two and going on a pretty solid run of success. Give Patricia time.2018 Patriots roster tracker: New England loses four players Youth Rob Gronkowski Jersey , including cornerback Cyrus Jones The NFL’s waiver pickup deadline has come and gone and there have been multiple moves: the New England Patriots themselves picked up a pair of wide receivers and saw three of their own players get claimed. Furthermore a fourth player was lost despite making it through waivers unselected. Ergo, the following four men are no longer with the Patriots:All four players were eligible to return to New England via the practice squad but none of them will be back. The biggest name on the list is undoubtably Jones: the former second-round draft pick, who spent all of 2017 on injured reserve, was unable to earn a backup spot at cornerback thanks to the emergence of JC Jackson and Keion Crossen and was subsequently released. A bit surprisingly, he went unclaimed through the waiver wire and then opted to join his hometown team over the Patriots.

Key Information and First Quarter Open Thread Ladies and gentlemen White Trae Waynes Jersey , boys and girls, children of all ages. . .We’ve made it!Welcome to the 2018 regular season opener for your Minnesota Vikings here at The Daily Norseman! We are less than an hour away from today’s opening kickoff, as the most important team in the National Football League plays host to the San Francisco 49ers in the first game of the brand new season.Yes, this isn’t the format that you’re used to seeing for the Game Threads. I’m working on a way to bring that format back but, at the present time, I’m a bit limited. So, this is what we’re going with at the moment. With that, here’s everything you need to know about today’s matchup.Time: Sunday, 9 September, noon Central timeLocation: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MinnesotaTelevision coverage: KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities, and a bunch of other FOX affiliates across the nation that you can see right here.Radio coverage: Vikings Radio Network, Sirius Channel 81, XM Channel 226Line: Minnesota -7 Youth Harrison Smith Jersey , Over/Under 45.5Prediction: Vikings 27, 49ers 17Three keys1) Establish the run early - Everyone is going to expect Kirk Cousins to come out slinging, looking for Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen to get the Minnesota offense moving. The bigger key, honestly, could be to get the run game going early to give a solid 49ers defense something to think about. San Francisco comes into this one without star linebacker Reuben Foster, and the Vikings would do well to exploit that early. Whether it’s Dalvin Cook, Latavius Murray, or even Mike Boone, the Vikings need to get a run game going early on.2) Give Jimmy Garoppolo a rude welcome - By the same token, Garoppolo is one of the names that’s on everyone’s mind going into this season. He help the Niners run off five consecutive wins to finish their season after a 1-10 start, and the Niners responded by making him the highest-paid player in football. . .a title he held for a couple of weeks. Everson Griffen draws a tough assignment against veteran Joe Staley, but on the other side we’ll see Danielle Hunter. . .who spent all preseason toying with opposing linemen. . .lining up against Mike McGlinchey, the Niners’ top pick in this year’s draft. Hopefully that’s a matchup that Hunter can exploit.3) Win the special teams battle - With a new punter and a kicker making his regular season debut, it’s going to be interesting to see how the special teams units function for the Vikings in this matchup. Minnesota has been solid on special teams in recent years, and against a quality opponent like the Niners Youth Stefon Diggs Jersey , they’ll need to do what they can to find advantages. They don’t need to make mistakes on special teams and give the Niners extra opportunities.Know the Foe: Niners NationTwitter: The Daily Norseman’s collection of bloggersFaceBook: www.facebook.com/TheDailyNorsemanA Twitter List by DailyNorseman As yours truly is still on vacation, Ted will be along with the Open Threads for the other three quarters. Vikings’ NFC North Rivals: Authentic Riley Reiff Jersey , as you may have heard 6,246 times this week, is dress-rehearsal week. The starters and their backups play the majority of the game, and there’s not much mystery outside of an occasional younger player perhaps trying to unseat a more expensive veteran.Thursday’s games will be the final chance for many of these players to showcase their talents not only for their own teams, but for all 31 other teams who might be looking to fill a roster spot, as well.Other than a few big name players outside of the division getting massive contract extensions, it was a relatively quiet few days in the NFC North.By Friday, however, NFL teams will have a pretty good idea of what their rosters will look like, and we can all get on with speculating about football games that matter. With that, let’s take a look around the division and see if there were any newsworthy nuggets or intrigue among our division rivals.Chicago BearsChicago slipped past the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend, 27-24.At first glance, this would have seemed like a bit of a nail-biter, save for the fact that Chicago pretty much rested all of their starters, and Kansas City did not.And that the Chiefs scored ten late points to make it that close. On the impressive side, Chase Daniel once again looks like the player that some Vikings fans were clamoring for a few years ago. He’s a solid number two (and really, who doesn’t like that?), and with the way Mitchell Trubisky likes to bootleg, that may just come in handy at some point for Chicago this season.Wide Receiver Kevin White caught his first touchdown as a professional, which was good to see. The Bears made him the second receiver of the board in the 2015 draft, but to say he has struggled to stay healthy is an understatement. And it’s not like the injuries he’s had have been of the nagging variety.A broken left tibia ended his rookie season.A broken left fibula ended his sophomore campaign.A fractured left shoulder blade ended season three.Just a suggestion - maybe some milk in the diet?Get that calcium up a little?Linebacker Roquan Smith - the team’s first round draft pick who finally signed his rookie contract last week - didn’t see any game action, as the team is letting him get up to speed.Bubble watch:Trying to be objective, I don’t see any players on the Bears “bubble” that would draw any interest from Zimmer or Spielman. This shouldn’t be surprising, as the Bears roster looks a lot like the one Leslie Frazier had in Minnesota in 2013 - a few good players surrounded by a whole lot of pretty average players.Detroit LionsThe Lions might be the most enigmatic team in the NFC North this year. They have an immensely talented offense http://www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com/linval-joseph-jersey , led by a quarterback who can make every throw. They’ve built a pretty great offensive line to protect him.O.C. Jim Bob Cooter - who has the best NASCAR name of any person not involved with racing - had a top ten scoring offense last season. And after not having much in the way of a running game for the past several seasons, they seem to be able to run the ball now, too, as their top four running backs each averaged more than four yards per carry last weekend. And it’s not like their defense is devoid of talent.Glover Quinn, Darius Slay and Ziggy Ansah are all very good. And yet, the team was down 27-6 at one point last weekend, even giving up an Antonio-Cormartie-esque 109 yard missed field goal return. They rallied late, however, and beat the Bucs 33-30.The folks over at Pride of Detroit were pretty excited on Monday, as 72 percent of fans voting graded the teams’ signing of 32 year old defensive end Robert Ayers somewhere in the ‘B’ to ‘A-’ range.Well, after about 30 hours, the team released him.Apparently GM Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia were seen speaking to one another on the sideline during yesterday’s practice, and Quinn was seen being very animated while on his phone a few minutes later.Ayers was nowhere to be found.Either Robert Ayers did some serious backpedaling, or he was so good that he accomplished all he set out to do in just one day.Either way, I hope for Quinn’s sake there’s some sort of lemon law protection for teams buying used defensive ends.Bubble Watch:The Detroit Free Press is projecting the team will keep five backs - Ameer Abdullah, Kerryon Johnson, LeGarrette Blount, Theo Riddick, and Nick Bellore (FB).For a team that seemingly could use the roster space elsewhere, keeping five seems a little bit of overkill.Abdullah and Zach Zenner would likely be the ones out.Johnson and Blount are better bangers, and Riddick is a better pass catcher. With the Vikings having their own difficult decision to make regarding Mike Boone and Roc Thomas, neither Zenner or even Abdullah probably wouldn’t move the needle for Mike ZImmer and Company. However, one player that may not make the 53 that could potentially draw interest from a lineman needy team such as the Vikings is third-year Guard Joe Dahl. He’s not a bad player - he may simply become a victim of the numbers game in Detroit. He won the Pro Football Focus game ball for his efforts in week seventeen last year versus Chicago. The Lions’ offensive line is the deepest unit on the roster, and a pretty good player may well be let go.It’ll definitely be something to watch out for.Green Bay PackersAt some point in the past year Authentic Matt Wile Jersey , an NFL executive drew up the preseason schedule. This person is or was responsible for not only making sure that everyone has an opponent every week, but that the matchups would be appealing, as well.Well, the Packers and Raiders preseason week three matchup should have been just about as perfect a game for fans of preseason football (that just sounds stupid, doesn’t it?) as any, right? It’s Rodgers versus Derek Carr! It’s John Gruden! It’s Carr throwing to Jordy Nelson going against his old team! It’s Khalil Mack running roughshod over the Packers line! It’s鈥?uhhh鈥?it’s鈥?yeah. It’s preseason.Rodgers didn’t play.Carr threw three balls.Nelson didn’t catch any of them.Mack is still holding out.And Chucky Gruden?Well, the two teams traded field goals all night long before the Raiders finally broke away with a 13-6 victory.Green Bay fans got a scare before the game, as rookie linebacker Oren Burks was pulled from the lineup after warmups with an apparent injury.Burks has impressed in preseason, and a significant injury would have been terrible for an already thin linebacking core. The Packers also made a move this week to add some depth at linebacker, acquiring Antonio Morrison from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for defensive back Lenzy Pipkins.Morrison has some starting experience in Indy, but is currently listed with the third-stringers on the depth chart.Ty Montgomery was nicked up in the game versus the Raiders, but the injury doesn’t appear to be serious. The rest of the Packers backfield situation to start the season is a bit cloudy.Jamaal Williams, who ended up with the Packers starting job last season, is listed number one on the depth chart.Montgomery is second, followed by Aaron Jones (who is suspended two games to start the season for substance abuse).Montgomery has a history of injuries, and with Jones suspension, the team may be watching Detroit’s backfield competition closely.Bubble Watch:Here’s the part where Packers fans will roll their eyes at me.There are no players on the packers bubble that would have a chance to make the Vikings roster. That’s a compliment to the Vikings’ players, an indictment of the Packers depth at certain positions, and also an acknowledgement that the players the Packers could part ways with don’t fit what Zimmer and his coaches might be looking for.So don’t get your undies in a bunch. You folks are so damn sensitive, sometimes. For instance, Quinten Rollins is a name that keeps coming up as “out” when the rosters are cut down. He’s not better depth at any spot in the Vikings’ defensive backfield than any player the Vikings will keep. And I’ll take my chances with Boone, Thomas and Ham over any running back the Packers don’t keep. The Packers are probably going to cut some players who will end up on other rosters.I just don’t see any of them ending up across the St. Croix next week. The San Francisco 49ers have plenty of holes to fill before their Week 2 game against the Detroit Lions — starting on the offensive line. Two right guards were lost to injury in Sunday's 24-16 loss at Minnesota. The good news for San Francisco is that none of the injuries the team suffered Sunday appear to be season-ending.Right guard Mike Person left in the second quarter with a strained foot. His replacement, Joshua Garnett, exited with a dislocated toe on his left foot the third quarter. That meant rookie Mike McGlinchey had to shift from right tackle to guard in his NFL debut.Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that he didn't have a timetable for the return of Person or Garnett Authentic Mike Remmers Jersey , but he expressed relief that neither appears to be a candidate for season-ending injured reserve. The 49ers have a spot open on the 53-man roster, and Shanahan said several players will be brought in for workouts, with the idea of adding someone to the active roster by Wednesday."I know we've got some workouts. We're bringing in (players at) a number of positions tomorrow," Shanahan said. "We've got some guys who are a possibility. We've got guys who are a possibility on the practice squad."Receiver Marquise Goodwin, who collided with a defender in the second quarter Sunday, has a deep thigh bruise on his right leg and is day-to-day.Should he miss time, it could open up a bigger role for rookie Dante Pettis, who caught a 22-yard touchdown from Jimmy Garoppolo for his first career catch.Linebacker Brock Coyle, who started Sunday for the injured Malcolm Smith, is in the concussion protocol. He'd have to be cleared by doctors to play against Detroit. With the right side of the offensive line disrupted by injuries, the Vikings put consistent pressure on Garoppolo and sacked him three times. After Person and Garnett left the game, the 49ers turned to reserve tackle Garry Gilliam, who had exited the concussion protocol a few days before the opener. Gilliam took over at right tackle as McGlinchey shifted to guard.Person is also the backup to center Weston Richburg. But if Erik Magnuson can return from a hamstring injury this week, it would provide a boost as he can also play center.Shanahan was pleased with McGlinchey, the No. 9 overall draft pick out of Notre Dame, who held his own after moving to guard."It was his first NFL game, he had never played guard and you could see there was nothing about him that was scared to try it," Shanahan said. "He had to do it and he didn't flinch at all."NOTES: Shanahan reiterated the missed opportunities in the red zone Sunday, as the 49ers scored just one touchdown with four opportunities inside the Vikings' 20. Asked by a reporter if he would consider using more run-pass options in the red zone, Shanahan replied: "We (tried) one yesterday. ... The RPO questions are getting hilarious to me. It's not just you. It's the whole planet right now."

on Sunday Even with the preseason in the rear view mirror Womens Trae Waynes Jersey , the Minnesota Vikings still have some questions along the offensive line that need answering before Sunday’s season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. According to one prominent NFL insider, the answer to one of those questions appears to be one that I don’t think anyone was expecting.Brian Baldinger is reporting that the Vikings’ starting center on Sunday afternoon will be none other than Danny Isidora.Isidora’s first start at center. . .at any level. . .came in the preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans this past Thursday. His second one will apparently come on Sunday when the Vikings open the regular season at U.S. Bank Stadium. This obviously means that, as speculated, the Vikings will not have the services of regular starting center Pat Elflein on Sunday. Elflein, who was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list at Saturday’s 53-man roster deadline, is still likely a few weeks away from hitting the field. He just wasn’t so far away that the Vikings felt they needed to have him miss the first six weeks of the season.Unless I miss my guess, this also means that the newly-acquired Brett Jones will be starting at left guard rather than center on Sunday. Jones did start two games at left guard for the New York Giants over the past couple of seasons, but had the majority of his starts in the pivot. So, based on this intel, it appears that the Vikings starting offensive line on Sunday is going to be:LT Riley ReiffLG Brett JonesC Danny IsidoraRG Mike RemmersRT Rashod Hill/Brian O’NeillI’d expect Hill to get the start at right tackle, but I can’t completely count out O’Neill, who put together a much better preseason than I think most people expected. What do you think of the decision. . .should it be true. . .that the Vikings will start Danny Isidora at center on Sunday afternoon?Preseason Week 3: Seahawks News and Notes Week number three of the preseason is upon us, which means that your Minnesota Vikings are about to run through their “dress rehearsal” for the regular season.Typically, this is a tough week for the longshot players to make much noise, as the starters usually play quite a bit more.Camp battles are over, and the teams are now preparing for the real thing. The “ones” and “twos” are getting the lions share of reps, and some of the early camp hopefuls are beginning to fade away. But, as we saw this week with the George Iloka signing, that doesn’t mean teams are completely set with the players they’ve had all along. With that, let’s take a look at this week’s opponent, the Pete Carroll-led Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have yet to win a preseason game, dropping their matchups against the Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Los Angeles Chargers.Seattle is coming off a relatively disappointing 9-7 season, which saw them finish second in the NFC West. The Seahawks on DefenseFor years, the Seahawks have been known for playing exceptional all-around defense. But times they are changing in Jet City. The vaunted “Legion of Boom” defense is a shell of its former self.Cornerback Richard Sherman blew out his Achilles tendon and was released in the offseason, Kam Chancellor suffered a career-ending neck injury, Earl Thomas is holding out for a new contract, and Brandon Browner - fresh off his team’s loss in something called the “American Flag Football League” - was arrested on charges including kidnapping, burglary, and false imprisonment. In their place, the Seahawks have turned to Shaquill Griffin, Brad McDougald, Tedric Thompson, and Byron Maxwell.Legion of Whom?I have a hard time believing any of them will ever find themselves in this situation:Former Vikings turned Seahawks Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen have been solid so far for the ‘Hawks. Both are listed as second unit players, but both have made ‘Big Impressions’Meanwhile, former Vikings-pariah-turned-Seahawks-pariah Blair Walsh is no longer kicking in Seattle.Long time Oakland Raider Sebastian Janikowski has won the job.But it was the punting competition that garnered the most headlines this week, as incumbent Jon Ryan was let go in favor of Michael Dickson, whom the team drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 draft.Yes, the Seahawks drafted a stinkin’ punter!Ryan - one of the most beloved players on the Seahawks - announced his release in his own special way via Twitter:In truth, he asked for and was granted his release Youth Adam Thielen Jersey , knowing that Dickson was going to get the punting job.Ryan leaves Seattle after ten seasons. He is one of only three Saskatchewan natives ever to play in the NFL, and the only one who has a Super Bowl ring.Packer fans will remember Jon Ryan for a couple of reasons. While punting for Green Bay in a game against the Vikings in 2007, he became the first Packers punter to rush for a first down in nearly 27 years. His highlight reel went south shortly after.Against the Bears that same season, Ryan had two punts blocked, one returned for a touchdown, punted the ball nine yards on another, and bobbled the snap on a fourth, which resulted in a turnover on downs. But those same fans will remember John Ryan most for one particular play.No wonder the fans in Seattle loved him so much.I’m even starting to like him.As far as Michael Dickson is concerned, here is what we know:Seattle drafted the Sydney, Australia native out of the University of Texas after he won the Ray Guy Award as the nations top punter. And he’s good! And that’s about all I felt like researching regarding the punting situation in Seattle. The Seahawks on OffenseSeattle’s offense is all about Russell Wilson, and rightfully so.Wilson has been asked to do more this season with much less.Tight End Jimmy Graham has moved on to Green Bay, replaced by 2016 third-rounder Nick Vannett.Jaron Brown takes over for Paul Richardson at Wide Receiver, and Doug Baldwin has missed time this preseason with a knee injury, though head coach Pete Carroll expects him to be ready for the opener. The challenge for Seattle will be keeping Russell Wilson healthy. The ‘Hawks line was a disaster in 2017, and the team has taken steps to correct the problem. They traded for Pro-Bowl left tackle Duane Brown, and brought in D.J. Fluker to solidify the guard position. However, tackle Germain Ifedi - drafted in the first round in 2016 - and his play on the right side has been the bane of Seahawks fans.Clearly, Wilson’s athleticism is the only thing keeping him alive from right-side pressure. In fact, Seahawks fans on Twitter have taken nasty to a level that’s eerily reminiscent of former Vikings turnstile Matt Kalil’s mentions. In the backfield, the Seahawks have been stuck in a game of musical chairs ever since the heydays of Marshawn Lynch came to an end.The team has turned to Chris Carson, who beat out veterans Thomas Rawls and Eddy Lacy last season for the starting job before a broken ankle ended his season after just three starts. Not knowing how his injury would heal, Seattle drafted Rashaad Penny in the first round of the 2018 draft.Carson may simply be getting starters reps by default, as Penny is returning from surgery to repair a broken finger, C.J. Prosise is returning from a hip-flexor injury, and J.D. McKissic is out with a broken bone in his foot.Useless stuff about the Seahawks that you might not know.Pete Carrol and General Manager John Schneider (no relation) have been together in Seattle since January 2010.Schneider is widely credited as one of the architects of the Seahawks teams that went to two Super Bowls in the last decade, winning one.But the magic that Schneider once held apparently doesn’t quite work in the first round. As mentioned above, the team drafted Rashaad Penny in the first round. His injury has already cost him valuable time.In 2017, the team traded back with the Atlanta Falcons, who selected Takkarist McKinnley (6.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles). They then traded back again, this time with the San Francisco 49’ers, who selected Reuben Foster (59 tackles).Again, they traded back, and the Jaguars used the pick to select Cam Robinson. Two players were netted in those trades: Malik McDowell, whose career was ended after a freak ATV accident, and Mike Tyson (no relation), who is currently sitting third on the depth chart at Free Safety. In 2015, the team used their first round pick to trade for Jimmy Graham, who is no longer with the team. The trade also netted the team a fourth rounder http://www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com/matt-wile-jersey-authentic , which they used to select Tyler Lockett. In 2014, the Minnesota Vikings traded with Seattle to jump back in to the first round in order to grab Teddy Bridgewater. They continued to swap picks, and ended up with Paul Richardson, who is now in Washington, Kevin Norwood, Garrett Scott, and Kiero Small, all of whom are currently free agents. In 2013, the team sent their pick to - you guessed it - the Minnesota Vikings, who selected some guy named Xavier Rhodes. They received Percy Harvin in return, and... well...In 2012, they traded back with Philadelphia, who took Fletcher Cox.Seattle used the pick they received on Bruce Irvin, who is now in Oakland. In 2011, they selected offensive lineman James Carpenter, who is now with the New York Jets.In 2010, they selected Russel Okung, who made the Pro-Bowl last year with the San Diego Los Angeles Chargers. So, to recap, over the last nine drafts, the players selected with first round picks or picks received in trade who are still on the team are:Rashaad Penny, Mike Tyson, Germain Ifedi, and Tyler Lockett. There’s a slight chance that only Penny and Lockett will be with the team on opening weekend. And the players who were selected with picks the team traded away are:Tak McKinley, Reuben Foster, Cam Robinson, Xavier Rhodes, Teddy Bridgewater, Fletcher Cox.Ridiculous Quote of the WeekThis week, the nominees were so strong that I couldn’t pick just one, so I give you two.Ok, I understand, it’s the preseason, and every fan base is a little geeked up.But... dominance? And finally, one from the ol’ gum chewer himself, Pete Carroll. This one really hasn’t aged well.At all.

Manning Passing Academy: took place this week at Nicholls State University. The camp is led by the Manning family and invites the nation’s best college quarterbacks to help with the camp and later compete in the ‘air it out’ challenge. The air it our challenge is where the quarterback has three throws to hit a moving golf cart Womens Max Unger Jersey , two crossing from 20 and 40 yard lines, and one taking off down the sideline on a go route. Some of the top names that competed in the challenge was Jake Fromm - Georgia, Jarett Stidham - Auburn, Kahlil Tate - Arizona, Jalen Hurts - Alabama, Drew Lock - Missouri, Alex Hornibrook - Wisconsin Authentic DeMario Davis Jersey , Brandon Wimbush - Notre Dame, Mckenzie Milton - UCF, Trace McSorley - Penn State and Jake Browning - Washington. Wisconsin’s Alex Hornibrook took home the title by hitting all three golf carts with no other quarterbacks doing so. Saints wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith was absset at the end of OTAs from an undisclosed injury and wasn’t present. But, I spotted Smith at the Manning camp with no visible limp or brace of any kind, indicating that it was a minor injury and nothing to worry about. Rookies report for training camp July 17th, so keep an eye out for Smith and how much he particaptes early in camp. I expect full particiaption in camp only being a minor injury.Ole Miss wide receiver D.K. Metcalf (6’4”, 225 lbs) ran routes at the passing academy and looked great. Metcalf is coming off a seven touchdown season for the Rebels and will be teaming up with another WR Authentic Drew Brees Jersey , one of nation’s best in A.J. Brown this season. Metcalf seemed to be in great shape and really bulked up.His routes were clean and speed was impressive for a big body receiver. Metcalf will be interesting name for the 2019 NFL draft because of his size and jump ball radius. Former Saints tryout wide receiver Bruce Thompson was also at the Manning passing academy. Thompson’s route running ability and hands were impressive. He is awaiting his next NFL chance and contuines to grind till he gets his next opportunity.Saints News|Ken Crawley or P.J. Barrett & Taysom Hill - No bums were harmed in the making of this film fits as a perfect disclaimer here.Tom Savage plays the role of Rodney Dangerfield (In Rev’s mind) as he just can’t seem to get any respect from Ellias who recognizes that Savage has talent but also sees a problem upstairs that could be hard for Sean Payton to fix.Trust me you’ll want to hear this debate vs reading about it!Who Dat Confessional Q & A(28:45)Which 2018 rookie has impressed the mostSheldon Rankins or David Onyemata - Who would you sign in FA?Will Demario Davis lead the league in Tackles?Does Tre’Quan Smith beat out Cameron Meredith for #3 WR position?Who is a dark horse Defensive Lineman to make the team?Is Al Quadin Muhammad the next Junior Galette minus the belt?Is it time to find a succession play to Terron Armstead at LT?Who fills in for Ingram for the first four games? What position worries us the most moving forward? There are multiple ways to catch your favorite Saints podcast! Buccaneers vs. Saints: Winners Color Rush Sheldon Rankins Jersey , losers, courtesy of their NFC South rival the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 48-40 defeat saw a whole lot of errors and ugliness, as head coach Sean Payton alluded to in his post game press conference. Payton said he couldn’t think of many positives after the killer day Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bucs offense had. Here’s a few winners, losers, and honorable mentions after Week 1.WinnersThe Saints offense looked pretty stellar on the day, but did have two turnovers. Despite that, Drew Brees was dealing Youth Mark Ingram II Jersey , going 37-of-45 for 439 yards and 3 touchdowns. Alvin Kamara accounted for three touchdowns on the day, two on the ground and one receiving. Kamara finished with 8 carries for 29 yards (2 touchdowns) and 9 receptions for 112 yards (touchdown) on 12 targets. Michael Thomas caught a team-record 16 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets, but also had a fumble.LosersWe’ll just go ahead and put the entire Saints defense here. Ryan Fitzpatrick looked like a Hall of Fame quarterback, as he helped lead the Buccaneers offense to 529 total yards. Fitzpatrick went 21-of-28 for 417 yards and 4 touchdowns, while adding 36 yards on the ground and a score on 12 attempts. The run defense couldn’t bring anyone down after first contact, and the pass rush was pretty non-existent.Marshon Lattimore and Ken Crawley were torched in the secondary, along with Vonn Bell, Marcus Williams Youth Alvin Kamara Jersey , Kurt Coleman, and Patrick Robinson. Mike Evans laughed at his last showing in the Superdome when he put up one catch for 13 yards and had himself a field day of 7 catches for 147 yards and a score. DeSean Jackson also kicked tail, hauling in 5 catches for 146 yards and two scores. Fitzpatrick went a perfect 12-of-12 when targeting both of these receivers.Mike Gillislee’s debut in black and gold didn’t go well at all, as he carried the ball 3 times for 9 yards and lost a fumble that led to a scoop-six for the Buccaneers. He could be a quick candidate on the chopping block as early as Monday. The fans in the stands were also losers today, because after waiting 8 months for football to return, that type of effort put out was just abysmal. It didn’t help that there were some real questionable calls made (or not made). Those who hung in there all game and saw the Saints make it interesting do deserve a special shout out.Honorable MentionsTed Ginn Jr. quietly had a strong day for the Saints offense, finishing with 5 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown on 6 targets. Benjamin Watson also had a decent showing for his first game back with the Saints, as caught all 4 of his targets for 44 yards. The touchdown play with Taysom Hill running a run-pass option at quarterback and Drew Brees split out as a wide receiver was pretty nifty.Whether it was good or bad http://www.authenticsneworleanssaints.com/cheap-ken-crawley-jersey , who stood out the most to you?Browns vs. Saints: Week 2 open thread [Saints fans: Sign up for FanPulse, our weekly Saints survey]Week 2 has the Cleveland Browns (0-0-1) coming to the Big Easy to take on the New Orleans Saints (0-1). It’s an eerie feeling approaching the game, as Sean Payton’s squad was shocked in Week 1 by the Buccaneers to get a bad 48-40 loss at home. The Browns haven’t won a game since Christmas Even in the 2016 season, when they beat the then San Diego Chargers 20-17.The Browns hold the all-time series advantage 13-4, having won the last two matchups in 2010 and 2014. The Saints are just 2-8 at home against Cleveland, dating back to 1967. They’re lone wins came in 1987 and 1990, and the Browns didn’t come back to New Orleans until 1999. The names Tim Couch and Kevin Johnson may induce fits of rage. Can the Saints avoid their fifth straight 0-2 start?Hold onto your butts...What’s your game prediction?

From Concussion Symptoms http://www.neworleanssaintsteamonline.com/vonn-bell-jersey , per report Coby Fleener had signed a five year, $36 million dollar deal after leaving the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent. He only saw two of those years with the Saints before they released him back in May. Since then, Fleener has not been picked up by another team and recent reports indicate the symptoms he displayed from his concussion this past season aren’t going away.He spoke with Don Banks of The Athletic saying the symptoms were “still there, unfortunately.” While he wants to play in the upcoming season, he added this when talking to Mr. Banks “Ummm. I don’t know, That’s a really hard question to answer, because, like I said, if you’d asked me a day or two after it happened, I would have said of course. But now I’m kind of taking it as the cliche’ goes, one day at a time. Tomorrow if I wake up and there are no symptoms, then we approach things differently.”While with New Orleans, Fleener tallied 72 receptions on 111 targets for 926 yards and 5 touchdowns. If his career has reached it’s end, he’ll retire with 3,080 yards receiving on 255 receptions and 22 total touchdowns. Pro Football ReferenceThe NFL has stated it’s working to address http://www.neworleanssaintsteamonline.com/tyeler-davison-jersey , and take more seriously, the issue of concussions around the league. It’s new concussion protocol has drawn the ire of fans, analysts and even players for it’s inconsistencies in implementation. The “Play Smart. Play Safe.” initiative is intended to create a safer game for everyone. SBNation’s Adam Stites wrote about the effectiveness of this program and has continued his research up to this past season. Apparently, Coby Fleener’s agent has received calls about the tight end’s services if he can pass the NFL’s concussion protocol, but as of now it looks as if the twenty-nine year old’s career has come to a premature end. Drew Brees will be throwing to a familiar face in 2018 with the departure of Fleener and the arrival of Benjamin Watson.Saints’ Natrell Jamerson draws favorable comparison to Dennis Allen’s first draft pick as a head coach After visibly improving as a cornerback during his time in training camp, Natrell Jamerson has recently attracted the attention and praise of both Sean Payton and Aaron Glenn, putting the Saints’ 2018 5th round pick squarely on the radar of the media. While you will likely read multiple articles about Jamerson in the coming days, none of them will make the correlation between he and former 12th overall pick D.J. Hayden. My colleague and partner in crime Deuce Windham once told me that coordinators have a legitimate hand in the scouting process as it pertains to what talents fit their scheme, and the selection of Jamerson has Dennis Allen’s signature all over it.The Saints’ 3rd year defensive coordinator likes to have matchup CBs on the roster. Marshon Lattimore playing the right or weak side CB is capable of banishing a team’s No. 2 WR to the shadow realms, allowing the flexibility to shade your safety to the left or strong side where most team’s No. 1 WRs line up.Lattimore is also the best candidate on the roster to handle the bigger receivers like Julio Jones, Mike Evans, and Devin Funchess that have taken up residence in the NFC South. What the secondary is currently lacking, however, is a smaller/quicker DB with the ability to match up with shiftier receivers like D.J. Moore, DeSean Jackson Authentic Patrick Robinson Jersey , and Calvin Ridley that can play on the boundary as well as move inside to the slot. The Saints’ current solution to this problem is having a pure boundary corner in Ken Crawley paired with a pure slot corner in Patrick Robinson, but if you could create a Frankenstein DB and combine the two, you would get a player in the mold of Broncos corner Chris Harris - A defender capable of being deployed on the outside in base packages and then kicking inside to cover the slot on passing downs.Insert Natrell Jamerson. There were a ton of questions when it was made known that Jamerson would first be looked at as a cornerback after entering the draft as a safety.Upon further inspection, you’ll see that he’s got a lot in common with Hayden in what he offers athletically and as far as traits. The similarities start with both DBs sharing a 4.40 forty, 10 foot broad jump, and 5’11” height. Both also came out of college with above average tackling ability, Jamerson’s more or less developed from his time playing safety. The proverbial buck stops there however, as Jamerson begins to separate himself like Michael Thomas on a slant route. He proves to be a tick faster over the first 10-20 yards, and I’d like to think this speaks to his slightly better vertical jump as he best Hayden in that category (33.5” vs 35.5”).This is important because post draft analyst have mentioned that Hayden’s lack of explosiveness limits his ability to “click and close” on the ball making him appear a step late at times.Jamerson also has a leg up on Hayden as it pertains to weight, checking in at a solid 201-lbs versus 191-lbs for Hayden.Combined with his 25 reps on the bench, it suggests he should (A) be apt to stay healthier in his career and (B) end up less likely to get bullied in press coverage and at the catch point by bigger receivers. In other words, the rookie appears to be the 2.0 version of Hayden that only went unnoticed until the 5th round because of a position switch he took on for the better of the team.Dare I say, plus intangibles? The most amazing thing about this is the Saints were able to get a Hayden level talent in the 5th round while it cost Allen and the Raiders a 1st round selection. Jamerson not only benefits from not having the weight of being a high selection on his shoulders but he also gets the time necessary to develop due to Crawley and Robinson being established starters in front of him. It’s still early in his development, but the Saints defense under Allen may have found another diamond in the rough to add to an already potent secondary.
