SOUTH BEND, Ind. http://www.steelersrookiestore.com/Steel...ll-Lake-Jersey/ . -- Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly isnt concerned that quarterback DeShone Kizer is the second-leading rusher for the Fighting Irish after five games. The Irish have had to lean heavily on the 6-foot-4, 230-pound junior to help overcome a defense on pace to give up a school-record 33.4 points a game. Kizer, 12th in the nation in passing with 1,567 yards, has carried the ball 52 times for 187 yards, which includes 49 yards lost on eight sacks.Kelly said Tuesday he monitors Kizers runs carefully.I think a couple things that have to change is that he cant expose himself to unnecessary hits and we have to be very careful in terms of the run game that we put together that were not putting him in a position where he has free hits, Kelly said.Even with those sacks and officially just 1 yard gained against Syracuse on Saturday, Kizer has outrushed Tarean Folston and Dexter Williams and nearly has as many runs as their combined 58 carries. Kizer, who set the school record for quarterbacks last season with 10 rushing touchdowns, has six already this year, which is one more than leading rusher Josh Adams (1), Folston (1) and Williams (3) have combined. The Irish got off to a 4-1 start a year ago with a balanced offensive attack, running for 1,250 yards and passing for 1,307. While struggling to a 2/3 start this season, they havent been nearly as balanced production-wise, running for 838 yards and passing for 1,639.Runs have accounted for nearly 34 percent of the total offense. The only time the Irish were less balanced offensively under Kelly was in first season in 2010, when runs accounted for a little more than 33 percent of the offense.Kelly said the reason for the disparity is because opponents defenses have been focusing on stopping the run and trying to put pressure on Notre Dames young receivers. If they want to keep doing them we have to keep proving that we can throw the football, and I think youll see that running game come back into more balance, he said. That could be a problem in the next three games as the Irish face North Carolina State (3-1), which ranks 13th in the nation in run defense, while Stanford (3-1) is 37th at 125 yards a game and 10th-ranked Miami (4-0) is 27th. The Irish may need to depend more on the run in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Saturday, with weather from Hurricane Matthew possibly making it tough to pass.Kelly said the Irish do need to get better at running the ball, but that hes not too concerned about it because their offense averages 495 yards and 39.8 points a game, which would both be school records. If you let us throw the football all over the field, were going to throw it and we wont run it as much. So are there things we can get better at in the running game? Absolutely. But weve been afforded the opportunity to throw the ball around the field, he said.---Online: www.collegefootball.ap.org http://www.steelersrookiestore.com/Steel...g-Lloyd-Jersey/ . -- Derrick Rose shook off poor shooting early to hit clutch shots late and Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 104-95 preseason victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. http://www.steelersrookiestore.com/Steel...sberger-Jersey/ .35 million, one-year contract that avoided salary arbitration. The Redskins announced Monday that the quarterback who led the team to the Super Bowl championship in the 1987 season will serve as a personnel executive. Western Bulldogs veteran Matthew Suckling says the two premierships under his belt arent enough to take the sting out of being overlooked for Saturdays AFL grand final.Suckling missed last weeks preliminary final against Greater Western Sydney and could not force his way back into the grand final side as coach Luke Beveridge opted for no changes. The 28-year-old won flags with Hawthorn in 2014 and 2015 before joining the Bulldogs but dismissed the notion that it might make his omission easier.Im not content, he said at Fridays grand final parade.I want to keep winning and have more success.Hopefully I get a chance but the boys played so well last week (so) no need to change a winning side.Sucklings preliminary final omission was initially attributed to an achilles injury but Bulldogs football director Chris Grant this weeek said it had been partly due to team balance concerns. http://www.steelersrookiestore.com/Steel...cullers-Jersey/. Suckling, who has been named as an emergency for Saturdays grand final, admitted his troublesome achilles had prevented him from training at full intensity but said he would be ready to line up if called upon.Im good enough to go but the preparation probably hasnt been ideal, he said. With every step theres pain, and it gets worse and worse after you train. Weve been trying to manage the loads for the second half of the year and its probably got a bit too much the last couple of weeks.Ill prepare as normal and if something happens Ill be ready to go but Im more looking forward to getting along and supporting the boys tomorrow. BERLIN -- Bayern Munich routed Wolfsburg 5-0 and took advantage of Leipzigs first defeat to replace the promoted side at the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday. http://www.eaglesrookiestore.com/Hats/ .Leipzigs record 13-game unbeaten start was finally ended in a 1-0 loss at coach Ralph Hasenhuettls former side Ingolstadt, which had been bottom but climbed one place.Defeats always hurt, regardless against whom, said Hasenhuettl, who led Ingolstadt to promotion in 2015.Midfielder Rogers early header was enough to end Leipzigs eight-game winning run and give Ingolstadt its second win in four games under new coach Maik Walpurgis. The game ended on a turbulent note when Emil Forsberg missed a great chance to equalize and players on both sides received yellow cards after a melee. Ingolstadts Mathew Leckie was sent off in injury time.A wonderful match day, said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, whose rivals all dropped points. Ingolstadt will get a truckload of white sausage and wheat-beer from us.In Munich, Thomas Mueller scored his first league goal since April as Bayern returned to the top with a comfortable win over crisis-hit Wolfsburg. Now were leaders and that will certainly do our Christmas party this evening good, said Mueller, who had gone 999 minutes without scoring. Its nice the goal drought is now over. It wasnt so important to me but I know others made a big deal of it.Arjen Robben opened the scoring with a curling effort inside the far post from a difficult angle in the 18th minute and Robert Lewandowski doubled the lead from close range three minutes later. Its brutal, its depressing when it starts like that, former Bayern striker Mario Gomez said of his return.Lewandowski grabbed his second goal early in the second half when he deflect Muellers shot inside the left post.Mueller, who scored 32 goals across all competitions for Bayern last season, then ended his goal drought by deflecting Robbens effort past the helpless Diego Benaglio, and Douglas Costa completed the Wolfsburg goalkeepers miserable afternoon with a fine strike in the final minutes. After 14 games, Bayern leads on goal difference from Leipzig. Only goal difference was separating Wolfsburg from the relegation zone.Heres a look at other games:COLOGNE 1, BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1Dortmund was headed for its fourth defeat of the season until Marco Reus struck in the final minute for his first league goal since returning from injury last month.Artjoms Rudnevs was left alone to head Cologne in front before the half-hour mark from Jonas Hectors free kick.Dortmund dominated possession but failed going forward until the end. Adrian Ramos crossed for Reus to slot the equalizer inside the right post.It was Reus first league goal since the 2-2 draw with Cologne in the final round last season.Cologne midfielder Salih Ozcan was sent off with his second yellow card in injury time.Dortmund dropped eight points behind Bayern and Leipzig, while Cologne stayed seventh after its ninth straight unbeaten game at home.HERTHA BERLIN 0, WERDER BREMEN 1Max Kruses strike before the break was enough for Bremen to beat third-place Hertha and climb four points above the relegation zone with its first away win of the season.Herthas defense was at fault with Niklas Stark losing the ball for Kruse to grab his second goal in as many games.Hes young. Thats the time to make mistakes, Hertha coach Pal Derdai said of his defender.Led by veteran forward Claudio Pizarro, Bremen missed good chances to extend the lead.Hertha had previously won all six games at home this season.HAMBURGER SV 1, AUGSBURG 0Hamburg forward Lewis Holtby left his side an uphill task before the break when he was sent off for elbowing Dominik Kohr in the face after he was fouled by the Augsburg midfielder. But Kohr received his second yellow card midway through the second half and Filip Kostic scored two minutes later on a rebound after Nicolai Muellers effort hit the post.It was enough for Hamburg to climb into the relegation playoff place, one point above Ingolstadt and two above Darmstadt, which lost 1-0 at Freiburg.Nils Petersens late penalty was enough for Freiburg. http://www.eaglesrookiestore.com/Hoodie/ . Louis Blues teammates who would also be participating in the Olympics, Alex Pietrangelo felt right at home, no different in some ways to the travel experience of any old road trip – save for the length of the journey, that is. http://www.eaglesrookiestore.com/Eagles-Jerome-Brown-Jersey/ .C. -- Glenn Howard needed an extra end to move into the Masters Grand Slam of Curling final. http://www.eaglesrookiestore.com/Eagles-Nick-Foles-Jersey/ . Klitschkos management company says the bout will be the Ukrainian fighters 25th world championship fight. The 1.83-meter (6-foot) Leapai defeated the previously unbeaten Denis Boytsov in November to become the WBOs mandatory challenger. SAN DIEGO -- Chargers running back Danny Woodhead was carted off after suffering a right knee injury in the first quarter of San Diegos 38-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and did not return.Woodhead is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, ESPNs Adam Schefter reports.?Woodhead suffered the injury with about two minutes left in the opening quarter when he caught a pass out in the flat and was tackled by linebacker Telvin Smith.Woodhead was evaluated by trainers and had to be helped off the field without putting pressure on his right leg.Woodhead, 31, reeceived a scare during offseason work when a lineman rolled up on his left ankle in San Diegos last practice of the teams mandatory minicamp. http://www.eaglesrookiestore.com/Eagles-...Douglas-Jersey/. He escaped with just a sprain and reported to training camp fully healthy.Woodhead broke his right ankle in a Week 3 contest against the Buffalo Bills two years ago, ending his 2014 campaign.Last season, he finished with the most receiving yards in the NFL for a running back (755). SANDY, Utah -- Its hardly a surprise that it takes sacrifices along the way to make it to the U. Federico Bernardeschi Jersey .S. womens national team. It requires a willingness to follow a road wherever it leads, accepting that its end might not be your desired destination. So when she found herself eye-to-eye with a sheeps severed head, Casey Short could have been forgiven for thinking she might have missed a turn or two along the way. In Norway at that moment, she was literally and figuratively a long way from her desired destination. The sheeps head was dinner; the dish a longstanding part of Norwegian cuisine.I dont know that I miss it, but it was kind of a neat experience, Short said of that culinary adventure she had while playing professionally overseas. Surprisingly, I kind of liked it.If the current moment is about where the national team goes next, it also encompasses how those who hope to answer that question got here. For the past two weeks, the national team searched for the pieces to complement the familiar and help solve puzzles posed by the 2019 World Cup and 2020 Olympics. A left foot here, poise on the ball there. With 11 players who were either entirely new to the pool or back in the fold after the briefest of cameos, the experiment marked the first wholesale roster expansion since Jill Ellis took over as coach in 2014.Without the chess pieces, Ellis wont have the team she believes she needs.Without people willing to commit years to the chase, she wouldnt have the luxury of choices.I feel like you never really feel fully prepared when youre coming in here, said first-time call-up Arin Gilliland in Utah. You always feel like you need to do something better before you get called in. So I didnt expect it, but I wanted it to happen.Standing next to her teammate, both with the NWSLs Chicago Red Stars and the national team, as Short discussed eating sheeps head, Gilliland listened with mouth agape in mock revulsion. There was far more agreement when it came to stepping on the training field for the United States, with Short vigorously voicing her consent when Gilliland found an apt metaphor. Its so high-tempo, its like the NWSL on three Starbucks coffees, Gilliland explained. But its great. It makes you think faster; it completely changes your game. And its not something you can adjust to in just one camp.It is daunting. Just not nearly as daunting as life can be.Gillilands mother, Letita, was diagnosed with cancer while her daughter was still in high school. Arin enrolled at Kentucky a semester early, in part to ensure the same mom who had helped her get ready for Halloween trick-or-treating dressed as Mia Hamm, would see her play for the Wildcats.?Letita saw those spring scrimmages and, with the same resolve thats evident in the way Arin plays soccer, saw enough games beyond that spring to witness her daughter grow into one of the best players in college soccer. She also saw a once rebellious young girl grow into the woman who would be honored, after Letita passed away in 2012, with the Honda Inspiration Award, given each year to only one female athlete across all NCAA divisions and sports. For Short, the path to the national team included not only the Scandinavian sojourn but three knee surgeries before it. A regular in the U.S. youth national team system, Short enjoyed a standout college career at Florida State and was the fifth pick in the 2013 NWSL draft. But the injuries ensured she never played a game in the league until this year, so her first professional season was spent not in the NWSL but in Avaldsnes, Norway. The culture was incredible. That was probably the best part, Short said. Everyone was so nice there. And they love football. Its everywhere. You see kids playing everywhere. So I think I was able to find a new passion for the game there and learn from everybody there. I was playing with people from all over the world. It was where I was meant to be at that time. The menu offerings might have made for the occasional comic moment, but Norway wasnt a lark. The sun sets for only a few hours a night during the Avaldsnes summer, but the twilight of Shorts career was fast approaching if she couldnt catch a break. For years, there had always been the opportunity for another game and another season. Suddenly those things were no longer givens.Almost had to put myself back together, Short, 26, explained. It was such a long journey to get there. ... I just needed to find myself again and find my confidence and get my fitness back and all these other things.Unlike the college coach she was at UCLA, Ellis isnt trying to get to know recruits and convince them to choose her program. Here the players are trying to convince her they deserve to stay. Once that is done, there might be more room to get to know the people. For now, Short isnt the product of her story; she is a rare left-footed option to play on the left side. Gilliland is a technically raw but athletically gifted prospect at outside back. Some of the newcomers left little doubt they will be back, Short is among them after a pair of starts in defensive capacities. The same goes for goalkeeper Jane Campbell, midfielder Andi Sullivan and forward Lynn Williams. Abby Dahlkemper, Ashley Hatch and Kealia Ohai played too sparingly to offer hints as to their fortunes, Ohais record-quick debut goal after 48 seconds on the field notwithstanding. Still others -- Gilliand, Danielle Colaprico, Shea Groom, Merritt Mathias -- trained throughout but didnt dress for either game. The reality is that for most of the newcomers, a contract with the national team does not await. Not at this moment. Maybe not ever. But they made it this far. And with Allie Long just the most recent example, after the 29-year-old claimed an Olympic starting spot following years in purgatory, that can be enough to keep some traveling an uncertain road.Gillilands purple-streaked hair is, in her own words, a hot mess. Shortly before an NWSL semifinal, she broke her necklace chain while engaged in some aggressive brushing. The pendant that went tumbling is an impression of her mothers thumbprint. Desperate to fix the memento before the playoff game, she said she commandeered one of the teams vans and made an emergency run to the store. It was in those minutes that her phone rang with the news from U.S. Soccer that she would be joining them in Utah.People can call it a coincidence, Gilliland said. But I kind of thought that was a sign from her telling me she was listening and knew what was going on -- and that she was happy. I got really emotional and called my dad, and we had a breakdown in the car, but it was great. The past week offered a glimpse of where the national team goes from here.It was also a reminder that here isnt anything to take for granted. According to a report by hockey writer Dmitry Chesnokov on the Puck Daddy blog on Yahoo! Sports, Grabovski discussed the controversial moment from the game that the Maple Leafs won 6-0. "The incident? It wasnt that much," Grabovski told Chesnokov. "(Pacioretty) was choking me and I bit him. Dont stick your hands where you shouldnt. To be honest with you he was choking me pretty hard, to the point where I really couldnt breathe. And I couldnt pull his hand away at all. I tried to hit him with my other hand, but I couldnt because he was choking me. Carlo Pinsoglio Jersey. There was nothing left to do but bite him." Pacioretty told the media that he had a tetanus shot following the incident. The NHL conducted a telephone interview with both players but did not levy any punishment to Grabovski since it could not determine for sure if the bite had taken place. "It was an emotional game," Pacioretty said two days after the incident. "It got out of hand. People were fired up." Both Grabovski and Pacioretty received 10-minute misconducts for their part in the scuffle, and the Leaf player received an extra two minutes for roughing. ROSSBURG, Ohio -- About midway through the fourth annual Camping World Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway, Tony Stewarts father was beaming. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen Jersey .?Have you ever seen the trucks put on a show like this? said the dad of the track owner and three-time Sprint Cup champion.?Well, no. They dont race on dirt anywhere else. So the show is so different than any other race on the NASCAR circuit, and thats what makes it an event to watch.?You know its a good event when people thought it was a great race and it only had two leaders and was won by a Sprint Cup driver.?In some ways, there is no reason this should be a good race. Compared to sprint cars half the weight or dirt late models with suspensions specifically built to race on dirt, the NASCAR trucks plod around the speedway.?But for a driver such as Kyle Larson, there is still a fun factor and a challenge factor. After coming close but not winning two years ago, Larson considered the win Wednesday night a big accomplishment.?These trucks arent designed to race on dirt, Larson said. But it also makes them a lot of fun. This place has a lot of character with bumps and moisture in different spots -- it makes a driver really work hard to find those parts of the race track to pick up [speed].?Rico Abreu ran a 12.7-second lap in a sprint car at Eldora last year. On Wednesday, he qualified with a lap of 21.19 seconds.?And yet he loved it, loved the 150-mile, 2-hour affair that could be considered brutal for a dirt-track race. He went from starting 27th to finishing third.?Any time I get to race, Im happy, Abreu said. Im in my comfort zone. ... To run a truck around here is its own feeling than nothing else Ive ever felt.?The average speed of the winner? A spectacular 41.971 mph.?When you come here for a sprint-car race, its hard enough to run the fence for 30 laps, said race runner-up Christopher Bell. When you come here in a truck, its 150. Its extremely difficult to do that and keep your truck in good shape.?It doesnt appear fun at times as virtually every truck has damage. And while some drivers likely would never voluntarily race at Eldora, even those who have significant dirt experience enjoy the challenge.?It definitely is a lot of fun, Bell said. It definitely takes some survival. ... Its really tough. Its extremely hard and its a really long race.?Larson said the heat of any lengthy stock-car event can wear on a driver. But theres something about a dirt race that adds to the challenge. Its something the fans can see and appreciate, even if the trucks dont have the cool factor of sprint cars that run laps five or six seconds quicker.?Youre working behind the wheel a lot harder just because it is a dirt track, Larson said. The character within the race track changes lap after lap. Its tough. Lucas Digne Jersey . But the quarterback hopes to stay involved in football after officially calling it quits Tuesday. "Id love to look at those opportunities as they arise," Pierce said in an interview from his Winnipeg eatery. Jasper Cillessen Jersey . With his new coach and six-time Grand Slam singles champion Boris Becker watching him during an official match for the first time, Djokovic appeared tentative early against the Slovakian player, who often appeared content to keep the ball in play. http://www.fcbarcelonapro.com/Kids-Yerry-Mina-Jersey/ . Q: Team Canada announces their Olympic roster three weeks from today. Who is general manager Steve Yzerman watching? LeBrun: Over the last 48 hours, hes taken in the home-and-home between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche with Jamie Benn and Matt Duchene being the obvious targets. PORTLAND, Ore. -- Ivan Dodig and Marin Cilic kept Croatia alive in the Davis Cup quarterfinal match with the United States, beating twins Bob and Mike Bryan 6-2, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday.Dodig and Cilic cut Croatias deficit to 2-1 heading into the reverse single Sunday on the Tualatin Hills hard court. The United States took a 2-0 lead Friday when Jack Sock and John Isner won the opening singles matches. The Croatians made a last-minute substitution, inserting Cilic, ranked No. 12 in the world, in place of Marin Draganja in doubles.Croatian captain Zeljki Krajan said the team began discussing the substitution Friday night, and made the move a few hours before the match. Cilic said he feels fine physically heading into Sunday. The conditions here are not too difficult; the weather, not too humid and not too demanding, Cilic said. In Davis Cup, its a bit tougher dealing with emotions because youre pumped up and that takes some energy. But I pretty much feel fine.On Sunday, Isner will open against Cilic, and Sock will face Borna Coric. The U.S.-Croatia winner will advance to the World Group semifinals, facing the France-Czech Republic quarterfinal winner Sept. 16-18. If the United States advances, it will play host to the semifinals at a site to be determined. The lineup shuffle didnt surprise the United States.I think its fair to say hes a better doubles player than Draganja, U.S. captain Jim Courier said. That made a lot of sense from their standpoint,The Bryans didnt relish having Cilic in the lineup.Cilic is dangerous. He brings great returns and some nasty groundies and his serve is pretty strong, Bob Bryann said. Thomas Vermaelen Jersey. So putting him in there was probably a smart play,The 38-year-old Bryans, handed just their fifth Davis Cup loss in 29 matches, had their serve broken six times by the Croatians. We werent making a lot of first serves, werent getting them in trouble from the start. They just kind of outplayed us in every aspect of the game today, Bob Bryan said. Those guys are two good players. Thats the type of match that we have to play at the top of our game to take them out. We just didnt do it.The doubles win gave Cilic a much-needed boost of confidence after blowing a two-set lead to Roger Federer in the Wimbledon quarterfinals, then to Sock on Friday.I was thinking a little bit after yesterdays loss that maybe I was a little mentally drained. Wimbledon left a small mark on me. This gives me good sensation for playing, Cilic said. The United States, 157-3 in Davis Cup with a 2-0 lead, claims its confidence hasnt wavered. Isner beat Coric in three sets, while Sock bounced back from a two-set deficit to win the final three sets against Cilic.Obviously, we would have loved to close this out today, but were up 2-1 going in and our singles players have confidence, Courier said. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but were confident. The United States is trying to break a nine-year Davis Cup title drought. The U.S. won in 2007 when it beat Russia 4-1 in Portland. Croatia claimed its only Davis Cup title in 2005. The U.S. has won a Davis Cup-high 32 titles, but only one since 1995. Ettore Messina was screaming at the Spurs Harrison Smith Jersey Big , and Manu Ginobili loved it.

Before Gregg Popovich, Ginobili played in Italy for Messina, and on Sunday he delivered a throwback performance for his old coach to save the Spurs’ season.

Experiencing a flashback to his days playing for Messina in the Euroleague in his early 20s, the 40-year-old Ginobili scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help San Antonio beat the Golden State Warriors 103-90. The Spurs avoided a series sweep as Popovich missed his second straight game following the death of his wife, Erin, on Wednesday.

In his 16th season in the NBA and perhaps the final home game of his career, Ginobili rebounded from a scoreless effort in Game 3 to help Messina capture his first playoff victory as a coach, albeit an unofficial one.

”For moments when he talks to the rest of the team, or when he gets upset and he yells at us, a lot of flashbacks,” Ginobili said, chuckling. ”He’s very strict and he wants the team to play his way, so whenever we stopped executing the way we should have, the old himself comes back. It was good to see him coaching on this stage. Good memories.”

Ginobili played for Messina while both were with Virtus Bologna in 2000-02.

Kevin Durant had 34 points and 13 rebounds for the Warriors, who can wrap up the series in Game 5 at home Tuesday.

”You have got to give them a lot of credit,” Golden State forward Draymond Green said. ”They came out and they probably played with more intensity this game than they did the entire series.”

LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Spurs, but they were willed to the finish by Ginobili http://www.lionscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-matthew-stafford-jersey , who has said he will decide in the offseason if he will return for a 17th season.

Ginobili was 3 for 4 in the final quarter, including making both of his 3-point attempts, and did not have a turnover in 6 1/2 minutes.

”I am so happy for him,” Messina said. ”I’m so happy. I think he deserves everything that is happening to him in his life and his career.”

Golden State outscored San Antonio 29-21 in the third quarter and went on a 13-5 run beginning two minutes into the fourth quarter to pull within 88-86 with 6 minutes remaining after trailing by as many as 17.

Aldridge banked in a 3-pointer with 4:22 remaining to stop the Warriors’ run.

”It was kind of frustrating,” Green said. ”We played great defense and he throws something up like that.”

Ginobili then took over with a pair of 3-pointers in the final minutes.

”I smiled when he made that corner 3 right in front of us at the end of the game,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said. ”It was just so typical Manu. Forty years old and 16 points and hits the clinching 3. He’s Manu. That’s what he does.”

The Spurs were 15 for 28 on 3-pointers on Sunday after shooting just 26 percent in the opening three games. The Warriors were 7 for 28.

”It was a do-or-die game, make it happen or go home, and I think every guy played with that mentality, that focus, and we ended up getting it done tonight,” Aldridge said.

Aside from Durant, only Klay Thompson (12) and Shaun Livingston (10) scored in double figures for the Warriors.

Rudy Gay scored 14 points for San Antonio, Dejounte Murray had 12 and Kyle Anderson added 10.

TIP-INS

Warriors: Livingston played despite spraining his left ankle late in the Warriors’ Game 3 victory. Livingston played 21 minutes. … Golden State PG Stephen Curry remained seated behind the team’s bench as he continues to rehabilitate a sprained left knee. Curry is expected to be available for the second round. … Andre Iguodala picked up his fourth foul with 7:56 remaining in the third quarter, but picked up just one more foul for the remainder of the game.

Spurs: Ginobili played in his 217th playoff game, breaking a tie with Shaquille O’Neal for sixth in league history. Ginobili also passed Reggie Miller for third in career 3-pointers in playoff history. Ray Allen holds the record with 385 3-pointers, followed by LeBron James (337), Ginobili (321) and Miller (320). … Murray was 3 for 3 on 3-pointers in the first half Womens Eric Berry Jersey , the most 3s made in the playoffs without a miss by a Spurs player since Steve Kerr (2003) and Patty Mills (2014) were 4 for 4 in a half.

WE’RE OK

Durant was asked if the Warriors were downhearted following the loss because their locker room was so quiet following their first loss in the series.

”We were good,” Durant said. ”I guess everybody was just quiet in the locker room while you were in there, getting ready, putting on their clothes, getting ready to leave. What, you want us to be in there throwing champagne around?”

OUCH

Ginobili took a knee to the thigh in the fourth quarter, but remained in the game after dropping to the court in pain.

”Quad contusion, one of hundreds all career long,” Ginobili said. ”It hurts at the time, maybe tomorrow it’s going to hurt a little bit. We’ll see how bad or not bad it is for the next game.”

Aqib Talib is reuniting with Wade Phillips in Los Angeles after the Denver Broncos agreed to trade the star cornerback to the Rams, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press.

The Rams will send Denver a mid-round pick, believed to be a fifth-rounder, in next month's draft for the perennial Pro Bowl cornerback, said the person, who spoke off the record because the trade isn't official until the start of the new league year Wednesday.

"Man, I'm so excited," Talib told The Associated Press from Dallas on Thursday night. "I can't wait to play for Coach Sean McVay Womens Allen Robinson Jersey , go back with working with Wade, and playing with my young man, Marcus Peters. He's going to bring that young energy back to me.

"I'm super excited to play with those guys. Aaron Donald is a good friend of mine, too, so I get to go from playing behind Von Miller to playing behind Aaron Donald. That's not too shabby. I got another MVP in front of me."

The NFL Network first reported the agreement. The Broncos had been in talks with the Patriots, 49ers and Rams about Talib, who signed a six-year, $57 million deal in Denver in 2014, part of a defensive makeover that carried the team to the Super Bowl title two years ago.

In Los Angeles, Talib will reunite with Phillips, who was his defensive coordinator in Denver until last year, and will play alongside a fellow star defensive back in Peters, whom the Rams are acquiring from Kansas City .

Talib had an eventful four seasons in Denver, both on and off the field. He missed the Broncos' visit with former President Barack Obama to celebrate their Super Bowl 50 triumph after accidentally shooting himself in the leg during a night of partying only to come back to have an All-Pro season in 2016. He was suspended for one game for fighting Michael Crabtree last season.

None of that is why the Broncos are moving on from Talib.

They needed to clear both salary cap space and room for rising cornerback Bradley Roby, who's getting a big pay raise from about $1 million in 2017 to $8.526 million this year in the final season of his rookie contract.

On Thursday, the Broncos also picked up cornerback Chris Harris Jr.'s $1 million option, guaranteeing his 2018 salary of about $7.5 million. He'll cost them $10.26 million against the cap in 2018.

By trading Talib Authentic Jordan Reed Jersey , who's due $11 million this season and $8 million next year, the Broncos will have about $35 million in salary cap space to pursue free agents, including quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Talib said Donald was the first Ram to reach out to him after word of the deal got out Thursday night. They share an agent in Todd France.

Talib said he'll miss playing with Harris, his college teammate at Kansas, and the rest of the Broncos, however.

"It's a business, man, so them guys understand," Talib said. "Chris hit me up. We're all talented corners and they couldn't pay all of us. They got that quarterback situation they've got to fix."

Talib's departure further breaks up the "No Fly Zone " secondary that saw its first departure last fall when the Broncos cut safety T.J. Ward so they could play second-year safety Justin Simmons more.

Talib, who was one of the Broncos' defensive captains last season, called his stay in Denver special.

"I'm going to miss it. It's a one-of-a-kind group in that locker room," Talib said. "Von's going to be out here in Dallas this weekend for the grand opening of my workout facility. So, I'll get to hang out with him again. But I'm definitely going to miss it. A lot of good memories in that locker room."

Oakland offensive coordinator Greg Olson was quite clear about what the top priority will be for coach Jon Gruden’s new staff with the Raiders.

Everything from the smallest details like how practice is conducted to bigger decisions about personnel and scheme will be made with the thought of how it will help Derek Carr develop into a top-flight NFL quarterback.

”We grow as Derek Carr grows Authentic Harrison Smith Jersey ,” Olson said Wednesday. ”We drafted this guy to be that franchise quarterback. We feel like he has the potential to be that guy that can be here and play for 10 more years. It’s up to us to try and get that out of him. We’ll do everything in our power to make sure that that happens, from practice to offseason programs, to what we’re doing defensively in practice, all those things will be designed to help Derek’s growth.”

Carr showed steady improvement from his spotty play as a rookie in 2014 when Olson served his first stint as offensive coordinator in Oakland to a breakthrough 2016 season under Bill Musgrave that garnered him MVP support and helped him earn a $125 million, five-year contract extension.

That steady ascension hit a speed bump last season as Carr played under his third coordinator in four years after Todd Downing replaced the fired Musgrave. Carr matched his career high with 13 interceptions and recorded his worst totals in yards, touchdowns and passer rating since his rookie year.

”This guy has to get some continuity,” Olson said. ”The fact that they signed Jon Gruden to a 10-year contract, that’s going to provide that stability that he needs and the continuity that he’s going to need. He’s going to be in a system now. He’s going to be coached by a head coach that’s going to be the play-caller. He’s completely hands on with the quarterback position, and that’s the first time Derek will have, first time he’s going to have an offensive head coach that has a quarterback background and will be hands on with him on a day-to-day basis. I just see that growth curve skyrocketing because of that.”

Olson and new defensive coordinator Paul Guenther spoke to the media for the first time since officially joining Gruden’s staff last week. Both coaches have ties to Gruden Womens DeSean Jackson Jersey , with Olson having worked as Gruden’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in Tampa Bay in 2008 and Guenther considering Gruden’s younger brother, Jay, one of his closest friends after spending three years together as assistants in Cincinnati.

The two coordinators had talked to Jon Gruden over the years about the possibility of being on his staff if Gruden ever decided to return to coaching and leaped at the chance soon after Gruden returned to the Raiders.

”Cincinnati made a strong push to keep me there, but the opportunity to come out here with Jon and start this thing from the ground up was way too intriguing,” Guenther said. ”I just looked at it as an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.”

Guenther will be tasked with rebuilding a defense that struggled the past two seasons, leading to the midseason firing of coordinator Ken Norton Jr. The Raiders improved a bit in the final six games under John Pagano but didn’t make nearly enough impactful plays despite the presence of 2016 AP Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack.

The Raiders lacked enough consistent pass rushers and the secondary got picked apart at times with rookies Gareon Conley and Obi Melifonwu missing almost the entire season with injuries.

Guenther called Conley his ”favorite” cornerback in last year’s draft and believes the pieces are in place starting with Mack to build a capable defense.

”Having a talent like that and ability of a guy like that, certainly you want to make it the centerpiece of the defense,” he said. ”We have to continue to develop our younger players to bring those guys up to speed and add people as we go through the draft and free agency. He’s a guy that you can really build a foundation through and around. He’s an exciting guy to be able to coach for sure.”

NOTES: Guenther called NaVorro Bowman a ”prototypical” middle linebacker and hopes he doesn’t leave in free agency. … Olson was noncommittal about the status of RB Marshawn Lynch, saying he would be doing him a ”disservice” by evaluating his play in 2017 before taking a more thorough look at the film.

The Minnesota Timberwolves used the draft to add a pair of players possessing the skills they want for the wing positions.

Even if Josh Okogie and Keita Bates-Diop prove they are capable right away of a place in the rotation, though Womens Randall Cobb Jersey , there is a question about how much they will actually play as rookies. This is, after all, the team run by Tom Thibodeau, who is as likely to prefer experience over potential as any head coach in the NBA.

”Practices are important. Playing time is based on performance. You earn that,” Thibodeau said. ”That’s not just something that is given to you.”

Okogie and Bates-Diop, during their introduction at a news conference Tuesday, sounded like they understand the climb they face. All five starters for the Wolves last season averaged 33 minutes per game or more and ranked among the top 36 most-used players in the league, with Jimmy Butler third and Andrew Wiggins ninth.

”Everybody wants to play a lot as a rookie, but that comes with trust and learning the system and being productive out there,” said Bates-Diop Authentic Aaron Rodgers Jersey , the Big Ten Player of the Year award winner at Ohio State last season who dropped into Minnesota’s lap with the 48th overall pick in the second round after most projections pegged him much higher on the board.

Okogie, who was selected 20th overall out of Georgia Tech, also expressed a willingness to accept the no-nonsense, tough-love supervision that comes with playing for Thibodeau.

”I’m definitely comfortable with it,” Okogie said. ”I’ve never really had a coach who wasn’t hard on me.”

Both players will go through an adjustment phase with their offensive game, beginning with the longer 3-point shot. Bates-Diop led the Big Ten in scoring (19.8 points per game) and Okogie was fourth in the ACC (17.9 points per game), though, so they’re not coming to the league without any shooting prowess. They’re not one-and-done prospects, either. Okogie will be 20 before the season starts, and Bates-Diop will turn 23 in January Womens Kevin White Jersey , just two months after Wolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

What will help them the most toward working their way onto the court is the athleticism, tenacity and versatility they’ve exhibited while playing defense. That’s at the top of reasons Thibodeau and the front office targeted these two, enamored by a high leap and a long reach that makes switching from a 6-foot-4 classic shooting guard to a 6-foot-10 stretch power forward doable. Bates-Diop and Okogie were two of the four non-post players with a ”wingspan” of 7 feet or more at the NBA scouting combine last month.

”You can kind of be in two places at once,” Okogie said.

The other factor in their favor? The roster. Butler and Wiggins don’t currently have any backups in place, with Jamal Crawford’s decision to opt out of his contract and become a free agent. There’s nobody else who played on the wing last season who is under contract entering the start of free agency this weekend.

So just how important is it for a rookie to play right away?

”I think it’s important,” Okogie said. ”Is it the most important thing? Probably not. But if I was given a chance to produce and to help this team win nothing would give me more joy than that. So hopefully it happens, and I’ll work and do everything in my power to make it happen.”

When Pro Football Hall of Fame voters meet the day before the Super Bowl to choose the Class of 2018 Authentic Eric Berry Jersey , the decision to select Terrell Owens should take less time than it does to microwave a bag of popcorn.

T.O. belongs in Canton. It’s a no-brainer.

Owens is second to Jerry Rice in all-time receiving yards and third in touchdown catches behind Rice and Randy Moss, a finalist in his first year of eligibility.

No. 81 was a five-time All-Pro, a six-time Pro Bowl pick and one of the most entertaining players of his generation.

Owens deserved first-ballot induction. Case closed. Yet, he’s been snubbed twice because voters are punishing him for his off-field and locker room ”antics” during a sensational 15-year career.

But there is no ”character clause” for the Pro Football Hall of Fame – and that’s not saying Owens should fail it.

Owens was never arrested nor suspended by the NFL. He didn’t have legal issues or drug problems.

Still, he’s been kept out because of questionable behavior and the perception he was a malcontent.

Sure Golden Tate Jersey White , Owens often spoke his mind and sometimes got under the skin of teammates and coaches. He threw some of his quarterbacks – Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo – under a rapidly moving bus. He also defended Romo from criticism and famously cried once while doing it.

Owens should be judged for his value on the field. He made every one of the five teams he played for better. He wasn’t the perfect teammate and he was disruptive at times, but when he stepped on the field, he was exceptional and durable.

Owens only missed 12 games in his long career, plus the nine he didn’t play in 2005 after Andy Reid kicked him off the Philadelphia Eagles following a nasty feud with McNabb and a dispute with management over a new contract.

That came only several months after Owens helped McNabb have his best season Womens Adrian Peterson Jersey , and then heroically returned from ankle surgery – against doctor’s orders – to play in the Super Bowl. Owens would’ve been MVP of that game against the New England Patriots if McNabb didn’t throw three interceptions in the 24-21 loss.

Anyone who covered the T.O. circus in Philadelphia and the aftermath knows Owens wasn’t solely to blame for the way things went down. McNabb was overly sensitive and didn’t like all the attention Owens received. McNabb was booed by Eagles fans at the 1999 draft and he never forgot it. The same fans embraced Owens from the second he arrived in Philadelphia after eight seasons in San Francisco. More than 20,000 people went to see his first practice of 2004 training camp at Lehigh University. That led to jealousy issues with McNabb that finally escalated a year later.

After things got ugly in Philly, the locker room was divided between McNabb supporters and Owens supporters. If the mess was entirely Owens’ fault, some of the well-respected veterans who sided with him wouldn’t have done so.

But it was easier for Reid to dismiss a 32-year-old receiver who wanted more money than a 28-year-old franchise quarterback who never ruffled any feathers.

Owens ended up in Dallas and had three excellent seasons with the Cowboys before he wore out his welcome. He played one year in Buffalo and one more in Cincinnati.

Those who argue that Owens bounced around the league because teams couldn’t wait to get rid of him should consider that Rice played for three clubs, and Hall of Fame receiver James Lofton also played for five. Lofton is on the 48-member selection committee and voted for Owens last year.

This really shouldn’t be a difficult decision. It certainly doesn’t compare to the steroid dilemma Major League Baseball Hall of Fame voters face each year.

Terrell Owens is one of the greatest players in the history of the sport and earned the right to receive a gold jacket.

When he finally puts one on Womens Josh Norman Jersey , getcha popcorn ready because it’ll be the most must-see induction speech ever.

The BIG3 says players in the 3-on-3 league of former NBA players are allowed to use cannabidiol (kan-uh-bih-DY’-ahl), or CBD, for pain management and recovery.

Under the change announced Wednesday, the BIG3 becomes what’s believed to be the first professional sports league in the United States to allow use of the marijuana ingredient for pain management and recovery.

The BIG3 says its decision follows the removal of CBD from the World Anti-Doping Agency’s list of banned substances earlier this year.

Stephen Curry’s return from a knee injury will wait at least one more game.

Curry sat out the opener of Golden State’s Western Conference semifinal matchup against New Orleans as he continues to fully recover from a sprained left knee.

Coach Steve Kerr made the announcement during his pregame news conference Saturday night. Kerr called it ”very likely” the two-time MVP would play in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series Tuesday night at Oracle Arena.

”Just made the decision based on giving him the extra few days and the fact he only scrimmaged yesterday Authentic Ryan Kerrigan Jersey ,” Kerr said. ”You’ve been out five weeks and we’re playing in the playoffs, I don’t think one scrimmage is enough, even though he feels great, he wants to play and pleaded his case. But we’re going to sit him tonight and very likely he’ll play Game 2.”

As usual Youth James Conner Jersey , Curry insisted he ”feels great and he’s ready to go,” said Kerr, who is encouraged Curry feels so good.

Curry returned to full practice with contact Thursday and only scrimmaged 5 on 5 for the first time Friday, and Kerr prefers that Curry get additional on-court time at full speed Sunday before inserting him back into the rotation – which could be off the bench initially or on a minutes restriction Youth T. Kerr, general manager Bob Myers and athletic trainer Chelsea Lane met with Curry and made a decision to keep him out.

”We have to protect him from himself and his own competitive desire,” Kerr said.

Curry was injured March 23 on the same night he returned from a six-game absence with a hurt right ankle.

”We practiced the whole week with the understanding that Steph was probably going to play,” Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said. ”And he will play. It’s not like he’s going to miss the entire series. We practiced both ways. What we’ll do is Plan B Authentic Justin Houston Jersey , I guess, Plan A, whatever you want to call it.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have removed defensive end Dante Fowler from the physically unable to perform list.

Fowler missed the first two weeks of training camp while recovering from a shoulder injury sustained late last season.

Packed house http://www.jaguarscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-leonard-fournette-jersey , summer heat, Red Sox–Yankees for the best record in baseball.

So, CC Sabathia, did it feel like a really big night in Bronx?

”I wish I could tell you it did,” he said, ”but it didn’t.”

Instead, he just pitched as if the calendar read October, rather than June.

Sabathia shut down the high-scoring Red Sox, Greg Bird hit two home runs and Aaron Judge connected off a college teammate as New York bopped Boston 8-1 on Friday evening to edge ahead in the AL East.

Not since the famed Bucky Dent playoff game in 1978 had the Yankees and Red Sox met so late in a season when they owned the two top marks in baseball, the Elias Sports Bureau said. Home runs decided this matchup, too Womens Andy Dalton Jersey , with Miguel Andujar also going deep for New York.

”I mean, we’re a good club,” New York manager Aaron Boone said. ”We’re a confident group, we know we can play with anyone.”

The biggest crowd of the year at Yankee Stadium was in the spirit as lines formed outside the gates more than 3 1/2 hours before the start. The pro-Yankees chants began prior to the first pitch, the anti-Boston shouts soon followed.

Sabathia (5-3) helped end Boston’s four-game winning streak, less than a month from his 38th birthday. He gave up one run and six hits in seven innings, and improved to 6-0 in his last seven starts against the Red Sox.

The big lefty bounded off the mound to field Mookie Betts‘ tapper and throw him out to end his outing. Slowed by knee problems in the past, a pumped-up Sabathia kept in motion and jogged to the dugout.

”High-stepping right there, you mean?” he said.

Betts and Andrew Benintendi hit consecutive doubles in the fifth for Boston’s run in the opener of a three-game series.

”It’s important,” Betts said. ”As long as we make it to the playoffs, anything can happen.”

Steve Pearce Womens Ryan Kerrigan Jersey , acquired a day earlier from Toronto, batted cleanup in his debut for Boston. He doubled on the first pitch he saw and also singled off Sabathia.

”I was actually kind of jittery my first at-bat, so it was good to get that out of the way,” Pearce said.

”It would have been nice if we got the win, so that kind of overshadowed what I did at the plate. But I felt comfortable,” he said. ”It was a great atmosphere.”

Eduardo Rodriguez (9-3) gave up five early runs. Boston fell to 3-4 against its rivals this season, and 12 more games are left.

Judge connected for his 21st homer, a two-run drive in the seventh off Justin Haley. The former Fresno State players eagerly chatted for a while behind the cage during batting practice – after facing each other for the first time in the majors, the rookie reliever angrily kicked at the mound dirt as Judge circled the bases.

”We were really good friends, and it’s a joy to see him having success,” Judge said. ”We respect the competition. He might strike me out tomorrow Womens Tyler Eifert Jersey , and I’ll tip my cap to him, and it’ll be see you down the road.”

Gleyber Torres hit his first career triple and scored on Andujar’s single in the second. Torres added a sacrifice fly in a four-run fourth, capped by back-to-back homers from Andujar and Bird.

Bird added a solo drive in the eighth. The Yankees lead the majors with 131 home runs.

”No matter who you facing, if you miss on the plate that’s what’s going to happen,” Rodriguez said.

DRURY’S BACK

3B/1B Brandon Drury was called up from Triple-A and likely will see action with Boston starting left-handers the rest of the weekend. Acquired from Arizona, he began the season as the starting 3B, but went on the DL in early April with blurred vision and migraines. He provides a righty-hitting option at 1B. The team considered promoting Tyler Austin, but he has back trouble.

HE’S A HIT

New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. took batting practice with the Yankees. Showing a sweet swing, he homered over the left-field wall.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Red Sox: 2B Dustin Pedroia and knuckleballer Steven Wright will see a doctor Monday. Both are on the 10-day disabled list.

Yankees: RHP Masahiro Tanaka (strained hamstrings) threw 48 pitches in a simulated game at the spring complex in Tampa, Florida. He’s expected to pitch in a minor league rehab game in the middle of next week, then could rejoin the Yankees.

UP NEXT

Red Sox: LHP Chris Sale (7-4 Authentic Jared Goff Jersey , 2.56 ERA) is 5-4 with a 1.73 ERA against the Yankees. He has struck out Judge more than any other pitcher – 10 times in 15 at-bats.

Police were searching for suspended Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith, who authorities said Sunday is suspected of domestic violence.

Someone called 911 to report a domestic violence incident at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a San Francisco police spokesman said. He added Smith fled the San Francisco home before officers arrived.

Sgt. Michael Andraychak said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening. Andraychak said investigators are asking for the public's help finding him.

The troubled linebacker has been arrested several times on charges of drunken driving, vandalism and illegal possession of assault rifles among other charges since the San Francisco 49ers drafted him in 2011 in the first round. The 49ers released him 2015 after he was arrested and charged with his third drunken driving in four years.

The Raiders signed him in 2015 and he played nine games for them until the NFL suspended him for substance abuse violations. The 28-year-old's application to the NFL commissioner for reinstatement was initially denied in 2016 and is still pending.

J.J. Watt smiles and chuckles quietly when asked if he's heard from Houston Texans fans who can't wait to see if he'll be the player he once was.

Watt returns Sunday after injuries limited him to eight games over the last two seasons.

"I'm very excited Womens Jameis Winston Jersey ," he said Wednesday. "I'm sure there are a lot of people who are cautiously optimistic. Obviously the last two years we've said the same thing. So, I'm just looking forward to going out there and playing football, letting it loose, having fun and letting the chips fall where they may."

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year will get an immediate test when the Texans open their season with a trip to face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Watt is healthy and appears ready to make a comeback after playing three games in 2016 before having season-ending back surgery, and missing the last 11 games of 2017 after breaking his left leg.

"They've been doing things for a long time at a very high level, so it's always exciting to get out there on the field and be able to play against a team of that caliber," Watt said. "Very much looking forward to the challenge and looking forward to get back on the field myself."

While the anticipation of seeing how Watt will perform in his first regular-season game since Oct. 8 is great, Watt insists that after everything he's been through he's simply savoring every moment instead of worrying what might happen.

"It's been a long road, it's been a grind, it's been a lot of ups and downs over the last couple of years Authentic Landon Collins Jersey , obviously ... but the thing I'm most looking forward to is today's practice," he said. "Little things 鈥?I love practice, I love the meetings, I love focusing on an opponent, going out there with my guys and trying to figure out the best plan, and just the game of football. I just love being a part of it."

The return of Watt and outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus, who sustained a season-ending injury in the same game as Watt, to play with 2014 top overall pick Jadeveon Clowney should make Houston's defensive front one of the team's strengths. New England coach Bill Belichick was asked about the difficulty of dealing with Watt.

"He's very hard to block," Belichick said. "He's a great player, one of the great players in the league. He has a lot of company up there Womens Tyler Eifert Jersey , too. They have a very good defensive front."

Watt has twice led the NFL in sacks with the last time coming in 2015 when he had 17 1/2. But the 76 sacks he's piled up in the first seven years of his career only tell half the story of his prowess as a pass rusher. He also developed such a knack for using his huge hands to swat down passes at the line that he earned the nickname "J.J. Swatt."

The four-time Pro Bowler was Defensive Player of the Year in 2012, 2014 and 2015 and never missed a game until 2016, when he started struggling with a back injury that ended his season. He knows that his back problems combined with last season's injury to his leg had some people doubting he can ever be dominant again.

Watt, who Texans fans booed on 2011 draft night, used to worry about proving people who doubted him wrong. But he's stopped worrying about stuff like that now that he's approaching 30 years old.

"I've realized there's people that doubt the best players in the history of the game," he said. "I'm sure there's people that doubt Tom (Brady), which 鈥?he's the best quarterback of all-time. I've learned that peoples' opinion doesn't really matter.

"The peoples' opinion that I care about are my family, my friends, my teammates, my coaches Womens Ezekiel Elliott Jersey , my girlfriend," he continued. "Whatever everyone else thinks doesn't affect my day-to-day life, but I'm going to go out there and try and make those people I mentioned proud."

Watt has done plenty to make people proud in the last year with a fundraiser he started to help victims of Hurricane Harvey raising more than $41 million. He announced last week that the funds have been used to rebuild 600 homes and 420 childcare centers, as well as provide 26 million meals, give 6,500 people health services and more than 10,000 people medication.

Linebacker Roquan Smith has yet to play in a game for the Bears and that’s unlikely to change on Thursday night.

Smith missed the first two games while his extended contract negotiations played out and missed the third after signing because he didn’t have enough practice time. Plans to play in last week’s game were scrapped after he hurt his hamstring and that injury is probably keeping him out of the final exhibition action of the summer.

Bears coach Matt Nagy didn’t expressly rule Smith out for the game against Buffalo, but said he’s probably out after getting in a second straight good day of practice. Things are looking more positive for the first Sunday night of the regular season, though.

“I think there’s still a good chance there,” Nagy said Womens C.J. Mosley Jersey , via the team’s website. “[It’s] day-by-day with him. Right now we’ve stacked two in a row for the positive, for the good. Let’s just keep that thing going. If he’s able to play and we feel good about it, trust me, we’ll give him an opportunity to get in there.”

Smith’s first summer with the Bears did not play out as anyone would have liked given the role Smith has been expected to play since being selected eighth overall in April. While Nagy cautioned against pushing too quickly because of the risk of a setback, getting on the field in Week One would be a good step toward making the rest of his rookie year a more positive experience.

Newcomer Khalil Mack led a dominant defense as the Bears built a 20-0 lead. But a hobbled Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in the second half to spoil Matt Nagy's debut as Chicago's coach.

"That kind of makes it tougher, too, because you know how much you put into it and how close you came," guard Kyle Long said. "It was in reach, well within reach. But at the end of the day, you've got to move on."

The same goes for Seattle, a 27-24 loser at Denver last week. The Seahawks grabbed a four-point lead early in the fourth quarter Youth C.J. Mosley Jersey , gave up a touchdown on the Broncos' next drive and gained 3 yards in their final three possessions.

"It was really an enormous missed opportunity for us to do something special and get that win," coach Pete Carroll said.

Here are some things to know as the Bears and Seahawks eye their first wins:

NEW ADDITION

Mack makes his first appearance at Soldier Field as a member of the Bears. And if he performs the way he did last week, Chicago will certainly take it.

The two-time All-Pro came through with a strip-sack that led to a turnover and a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown against backup quarterback DeShone Kizer. He also had pressure in the backfield on the play when Rodgers injured his left knee.

This will be the second game for Mack at Soldier Field. With the Raiders in October 2015, he sacked Jay Cutler on the final drive. But Robbie Gould kicked a 49-yard field goal in the closing seconds to give the Bears a 22-20 victory over the Raiders and their first win under former coach John Fox.

SAFETY VALVE

Doug Baldwin has been the player Wilson has looked to for help in key situations throughout their careers together. Baldwin is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks after suffering an MCL injury in his right knee in the opener. Wilson must find another go-to option in the passing game.

It could be veteran Brandon Marshall, who caught three passes including a touchdown in the opener . It could be Tyler Lockett, who also had a touchdown catch against the Broncos. Or it could be rookie tight end Will Dissly, who had three catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in the opener.

"It's hard to tackle a guy that weighs 270 pounds running down the field. Big catches too, good tough catches," Carroll said of Dissly. "He showed us that he's got really good hands."

BEHIND CENTER

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had a shaky opener.

The No. 2 overall draft pick last year Youth Cam Newton Jersey , he missed a throw on a fade pattern to a wide-open Allen Robinson in the end zone and was too quick to scramble rather than stay in the pocket at times. He also couldn't move the Bears past midfield, let alone into field goal range, in the closing minutes after Green Bay scored the go-ahead touchdown.

Trubisky finished 23 of 35 for 171 yards and a 77.2 passer rating.

SACK ATTACK

Seattle gave up six sacks in the opener, but at least half of those could be blamed on Wilson not trusting his protection and running into trouble. It made for a challenging game to assess the performance of an offensive line that has regularly been an issue the past few seasons.

Carroll said he was mostly pleased with the protections, but knows the challenge doesn't get any easier going from Denver's pass rush led by Von Miller to Chicago's rush now led by Mack.

SECOND IMPRESSION

Nagy acknowledged he needs to improve on his first game as a head coach. He second-guessed his own play calls, most notably two ill-advised screen passes, and acknowledged he is still growing into the role. Nagy replaced the fired Fox after spending a decade working under Andy Reid in Philadelphia and Kansas City.

"I wasn't in my exact rhythm that I could have been in," he said. "There's different reasons for that. For me, I just feel like that's my job. I've got to do that. I've got to be better."

The Patriots’ loss in the Super Bowl likely will be the last game for New England’s two coordinators Womens Andy Dalton Jersey , both almost certain to be named head coaches elsewhere in the next few days.

Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels led a typical Patriots offensive showcase Sunday night, as New England gained 613 yards against Philadelphia. Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia was left answering questions on why his unit couldn’t stop Eagles, who gained 538 in the 41-33 victory.

McDaniels is believed to be the Indianapolis Colts preferred candidate for their head coaching opening, while Patricia is expected to be take over the Detroit Lions.

They have already interviewed for the vacancies and spent the week leading to the Super Bowl shrugging off questions about the future.

They did the same again Sunday night, though each was noticeably subdued after coming up short in their bid to win back-to-back rings with the Patriots.

”I’m not talking about that tonight,” said McDaniels, who has served a total of nine seasons as Patriots offensive coordinator under Bill Belichick. ”I feel terrible for the guys in the locker room because they’re the ones that put in all that work.”

It would be McDaniels’ second head coaching job. He previously served as the Denver Broncos’ coach during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Following a stop in St. Louis as the Rams coordinator in 2011, he returned to New England in 2012.

Patricia’s star has been on the rise since he became New England’s defensive coordinator prior to the 2012 season. He has been with the Patriots since 2004, when he was hired as an offensive assistant.

This would be his first head coaching job.

”Right now it’s all about the game and Philly and my disappointment in the outcome of the game tonight Authentic Jared Goff Jersey ,” Patricia said when asked about the Lions’ job. ”This is really a difficult game where you are kind of all in. We didn’t do a great job of trying to execute. There is only going to be one team that is happy in the end.”

He said he hasn’t begun to reflect on what he’s accomplished in New England, having been a part of three Super Bowl-winning teams.

”Not at this current moment. I just feel very bad for our guys,” he said. ”I really wanted them to be put in a situation that allowed them to be successful in the game. Obviously we can go back and reflect at a later time.”

That time just may not be as a member of the Patriots’ staff.

Regardless of his future, McDaniels said Sunday’s loss was one of the worst he’s ever been through.

”You realize when you’re at this stage, there’s a lot of great players and coaches, and you never know when you’re going to get another opportunity. So it’s tough.”

NBC Sports has hired former NFL official Terry McAulay as an on-air rules analyst for its coverage of "Sunday Night Football" and Notre Dame football.

McAulay retired recently after 20 years as an on-field NFL game official Womens Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , and a college football officiating administrator for the past 10 seasons.

McAulay will be onsite at "Sunday Night Football" and Notre Dame games, moving between the broadcast booth during the game and the studio set for pregame and halftime shows.

McAulay was a referee for 17 of his 20 NFL seasons (1998-2017), previously serving as a side judge and a field judge. He led the officiating crew in three Super Bowls and worked 15 additional NFL playoff games.

Also, he was the American Athletic Conference's coordinator of football officiating since 2008 (the Big East Conference from 2008-13). As an on-field college official, McAulay was the referee for the Nebraska-Tennessee national championship game in January 1998.

The NFL approved a new owner for the Carolina Panthers, passed a rule to eject players who hit with their helmets, and took steps to spice up the kickoff.

Still to be resolved: a much more contentious issue.

What to do, if anything, about players who kneel during the national anthem?

”We recognize with our visibility and the interest itself that it’s taken a life of its own,” Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Thursday.

”We ask the world Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , `Don’t turn your head. Look at us. Wait a minute. Look at the NFL. Look at everything we’re doing.’ And then when we have some issues we’ve got to work through, we realize we’ve asked you to look.

”Let’s do as good as we can do.”

At their annual spring meeting, league owners welcomed David Tepper to their ranks by signing off on his record $2.2 billion deal to purchase the Panthers from disgraced team founder Jerry Richardson, who abruptly decided to sell after the NFL began investigating alleged sexual and racial misconduct in the workplace.

During a brief news conference in which he took only a handful of questions, Tepper immediately made a bit of news by seeming to imply he would be willing to listen to offers for a new stadium from other cities in North and South Carolina. The team has made no secret of its desire to replace 22-year-old Bank of America Stadium, and its lease runs only through the upcoming season.

”What’s the name of the team? Carolina Panthers. It’s going to be the Carolina Panthers,” Tepper said. ”And that means this team has to have some kind of presence in the Carolinas and last time I saw, how many are there? That’s right, there’s two of them.”

But Tepper, a hedge fund owner who is worth a reported $11 billion Youth Terrell Suggs Jersey , also reiterated several times that the largest city in the Carolinas is the ”logical place for this team.”

”As far as a new stadium, you’re asking me too much and the only thing I have a market on now is lack of knowledge,” he said. ”I’ll learn a lot more in the future.”

Tepper’s purchase was the first order of business at the luxury hotel in Atlanta’s tony Buckhead neighborhood.

That was the easy part.

As a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tepper was already familiar to the league’s owners and his approval was a mere formality. The vote was unanimous.

Anthem protests are a much thornier issue.

”We certainly want to make and will make a thought-out, deliberate decision,” said Jones, who has made it clear he opposes kneeling during the anthem and was one of the few people to speak with reporters in the hotel lobby after the meeting broke up. ”Whatever we do, let’s put the focus on what the NFL’s about and that’s playing football.”

The owners began discussing the issue – which has reached all the way to the White House – and will talk more before wrapping up their meetings Wednesday.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016, a quiet but powerful protest against police brutality and racial inequities in the justice system.

Other players took up the cause, and the gesture carried on during the 2017 season even after Kaepernick left the 49ers and failed to land a job with another team.

President Trump turned the anthem protests into a campaign issue Womens Greg Olsen Jersey , saying the NFL should fire any player who takes a knee during ”The Star-Spangled Banner.” The NFL hasn’t gone that far, but Kaepernick has yet to land another job and one of his former teammates and fellow protesters, safety Eric Reid, is also out of work.

Both have filed collusion grievances against the NFL .

”I think there’s certainly resolve and I can assure the issue is getting the very best of every owner and the very best look at all our constituencies with an eye first and foremost to our fans. That’s No. 1,” Jones said.

”We know our fans want us to zero in on football, and they don’t want to think about or think that we’re thinking about anything other than football.”

The NFL was reportedly considering whether to assess a 15-yard penalty against any player who takes a knee or conducts any other protest during the anthem.

Another possible option would be to change up the pregame routine, keeping teams in their respective locker rooms until after the anthem has played.

That is the protocol long followed by college football, preventing anthem protests from being carried out in its stadiums.

The new kickoff rules are aimed at making the high-speed play a bit safer and perhaps more exciting.

Players on the kickoff team can’t get a running start, while eight of the return team’s 11 players must start out in a 15-yard zone near midfield, forcing them to run down the field alongside the coverage players. That will make the play more like a punt and should improve safety.

Wedge blocks – two blockers teaming up on the same player – will also be banned. In addition Stefon Diggs Jersey Big , any kick that hits the ground in the end zone will be an automatic touchback.

The new rules will be re-evaluated in 2019 to determine their effectiveness, but the league doesn’t want to eliminate kickoffs altogether.

”It’s part of the game,” said Atlanta Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay, head of the league’s competition committee. ”If we can make plays more competitive and safer, we should do it.”

Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell‘s agent said that the “practical reality” is that the 2018 season will be his final one in Pittsburgh because no long-term deal was reached before Monday’s deadline.

If that’s the case Marcus Mariota Jersey Big , Bell says he will be going out with a bang. Bell posted a tweet shortly after the deadline passed without the new contract he’s been trying to land for the last two years and predicted he’d have his best season ever.

to all my Steeler fans, my desire always has been to retire a Steeler…both sides worked extremely hard today to make that happen, but the NFL is a hard business at times…to the fans that had hope, I鈥檓 sorry we let youu down but trust me, 2018 will be my best season to date…

— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) July 16, 2018

Bell has not said if he’ll follow the same script as last year and report to the Steelers just before training camp. There have been suggestions that he could extend his holdout into the season Authentic Melvin Gordon Jersey , although he’d lose $852,000 each time the team plays a game without him and having his “best season to date” seems unlikely if he’s going to miss a big chunk of it by choice.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) Tom Brady calls it ”ridiculous” to suggest the suspension of Patriots receiver Julian Edelman is tied to the quarterback’s personal health coach.

The questions about Alex Guerrero on Saturday prompted Brady to abruptly end his first media availability of training camp.

”I have no comments, just ridiculous. I’m out,” Brady said before walking away.

Edelman brushed aside a similar question in his first comments since receiving his four-game ban for a drug-policy violation.

”What’s in the past is in the past. I love Alex and ultimately I’m worried about just going out here and playing football,” Edelman said. ”I’m not here to talk about or make a headline or something.”

Edelman Blake Bortles Jersey Black , tight end Rob Gronkowski and former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola are among several Patriots who have also worked or consulted with Guerrero.

Edelman will begin serving his suspension at the start of the regular season. He can practice with the team and play in preseason games.

Brady provided another short response when asked if there was tension between him and coach Bill Belichick this summer.

”I have no thoughts,” Brady said.

Brady has relied on a fitness and nutrition program developed by Guerrero since 2004. The pair also partnered in opening Brady’s TB12 Sports Therapy Center, which is adjacent to the Patriots’ Gillette Stadium facility.

In January, Patriots CEO Robert Kraft, Belichick and Brady released a statement calling an ESPN report ”flat-out inaccurate” that said there had been disputes between team officials and Guerrero regarding player-medical affairs.

Brady will turn 41 next week and has credited Guerrero’s program with helping to extend his NFL career, which is entering its 19th season. As part of the strict regimen devised by Guerrero Womens DeSean Jackson Jersey , Brady eats a mostly plant-based diet during the season.

Despite skipping the voluntary portion of spring workouts, Brady said his focus and commitment to football remain high.

”Football is very, very important to me. It always has been, and I love being out here with my teammates. So, it’s great,” Brady said. ”As you get older you have different responsibilities Harrison Smith Jersey Big , and I think that’s just part of life. Everyone’s got to deal with those responsibilities differently and what works for them.

”Football is a huge part of my life. I love being here with my teammates and playing, and hopefully we can have a great season.”

The Clippers are finally out of their misery Authentic Andrew Luck Jersey , a long season marred by significant injuries coming to an end just short of the playoffs.

They finished with a winning record of 42-40, but their streak of consecutive postseason appearances ended at six. They closed out the season Wednesday night with a 115-100 loss to the Lakers, dropping their last four games in a row.

They kept their playoff hopes alive until the final week of the regular season despite the injuries. Eleven players missed a total of 265 games.

Coach Doc Rivers started an NBA-leading 37 different lineups because of the injuries. The Clippers were forced to dip into the G League for starters, most notably C.J. Williams (who was signed to a multi-year deal) and Tyrone Wallace.

The season began with nine new players on the roster after the offseason departures of Chris Paul, J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford.

But injuries soon befell the newcomers. Point guard Patrick Beverley was lost for the season after right knee surgery; starter Danilo Gallinari missed 60 games with hand and glute issues; backup guard Milos Teodosic was out 36 games with foot problems; and guard Avery Bradley was out 24 games.

Some takeaways from the Clippers’ season:

BIG MAN’S FUTURE: DeAndre Jordan has a player option of $24.1 million for next season or he could explore free agency. He and the team have yet to agree on an extension. ”I want to be where I’m wanted,” Jordan said. ”I want to have a chance to contend. That’s really what I’m looking at.” He averaged 12 points and 15.2 rebounds, but just 0.9 blocks. Jordan has spent his entire 10-year career with the Clippers and he turns 30 in July. ”Let’s not write the script yet,” Rivers said of Jordan’s future.

DOC’S FUTURE: Rivers is entering the final year of his contract. He could either receive an extension or leave after five years in Los Angeles. He was stripped of his duties as president of basketball operations a year ago, leaving his focus solely on the court. ”I love where we’re at as a franchise,” Rivers said. While he has yet to match the success he enjoyed in Boston (two NBA Finals appearances and one title), he pulled off one of his best coaching jobs by keeping the Clippers in contention all season when it would have been easy for them to fold. ”I really commend him for sticking with us,” Jordan said. Rivers trusted younger players to produce and swingman Montrezl Harrell blossomed under his tutelage.

LOU WILL: Lou Williams led the team with career highs in scoring (22.6 points) and assists (5.3) coming off the bench in his 13th season and first in Los Angeles. His scoring average was the highest of any reserve in the last 25 years. He received a $24 million Womens A.J. Green Jersey , three-year deal in February and was a key reason the Clippers remained competitive despite their injuries. ”My job this summer is getting myself prepared,” he said. ”There’s always room for improvement.”

DRAFT PICKS: Besides their own pick, the Clippers will have Detroit’s pick that they received from trading Blake Griffin in January.

FREE AGENCY: Besides Jordan, the Clippers could have decisions to make if starting guard Austin Rivers and Teodosic exercise their player options and become free agents. Rivers averaged career highs in points, assists, 3-point percentage and minutes. Bradley will be an unrestricted free agent. However, injuries blunted his impact. Harrell will be a restricted free agent, which allows the Clippers to match any offer he would receive. He was an energetic force off the bench.

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings will show off their shiny new quarterback in the season opener, formally turning over the on-field leadership of a team built for Super Bowl contention to Kirk Cousins and his fully guaranteed $84 million contract.

The player directly in front of Cousins, his importance not to be understated, will likely be making his debut with the Vikings at the same time. Brett Jones has been in Minnesota for less than two weeks Womens Josh Norman Jersey , but he’s on track to start at center Sunday when the Vikings host the San Francisco 49ers. He’ll have as much on his plate as anyone wearing purple.

“Kirk’s an excellent communicator. He wants things done a certain way, and you’ve got to be able to try to the best of your ability to try to emulate what he wants,” Jones said. “Anytime there’s a new center, you want to try to have consistency, so I’m just doing what I’m told and making sure we’re all on the same page so whoever’s in there can adjust and play well so the Vikings can have success.”

Pat Elflein, who performed relatively well as a rookie, just began practicing with the team this week. The Vikings have lost their primary starting guards from last year, Nick Easton to injury and Joe Berger to retirement. So, for all the enhancements the Vikings have made to a roster they reached the NFC championship game with last winter, the offensive line lost more than it gained over the offseason.

“It’s not ideal, but it is what it is,” Cousins said. “We’re not going to dwell on what we can’t control. We’re going to focus on what we have and making the best out of it Youth Antonio Brown Jersey , and I’m excited to build a rapport with Jones and the rest of the O-line so that hopefully we can develop a continuity as the season goes on.”

Elflein wore a helmet and full pads at practice Wednesday, but he was listed as a limited participant on the injury report. Considering Elflein was just removed from the physically unable to perform list four days prior, coming off ankle and shoulder surgeries earlier in the year, the chance of him being cleared to play against the 49ers is slim. That leaves Jones, who was acquired in a trade on Aug. 26 with the New York Giants , in the center of attention.

“We’re going to coach him all week and then he’s going to play center in the NFL like he’s done for a lot of games already,” Cousins said.

While there’s some justifiable concern about using a center who’s never snapped the ball to Cousins in a game setting, the chemistry between Jones and the guards and tackles on either side of him is probably even more critical.

“Each person relies on the other person,” Jones said. “If one person does one thing bad on offense, it’s a glaring tackle in the hole for a loss. If one guy does something bad on defense, you might have a backer or a safety or somebody come down and cover you. On offense, one mistake can be a big mistake.”

Danny Isidora Womens Joe Mixon Jersey , who started one game at left guard as an injury replacement for Easton last season as a rookie, has also been taking turns at center. Coach Mike Zimmer said recently he thinks that might actually be Isidora’s natural position.

“He stays in balance pretty well there. He keeps his hips square. He’s got some power on the double teams,” Zimmer said.

NOTES: Cousins was chosen this week as one of six team captains for the season, with left tackle Riley Reiff, tight end Kyle Rudolph, defensive tackle Linval Joseph, defensive end Everson Griffen, and linebacker Anthony Barr. … Cornerback Mackensie Alexander, in line to be the primary slot man in the nickel package, did not practice Wednesday because of an ankle injury. Cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) and Reiff (foot) were listed as limited participants.
