Browns general manager John Dorsey has only been on the job for less than a year http://www.thebrownsfootballauthentic.com/briean-boddy-calhoun-jersey-authentic , but in that time he has shown he is not afraid to be aggressive when it comes to adding talent. Knowing that, it would not come as a surprise if Dorsey is burning up the phone lines trying to get in touch with Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie to see if he can work out a deal for linebacker Khalil Mack, the NFL’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year.Mack and the Raiders have been in a protracted disagreement on a new deal, and Oakland is reportedly open to the idea, if the price is right, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network:Of course, just because the Raiders may want a pair of first-round picks doesn’t mean that is what they would get in a potential deal for Mack. (Remember how the “starting price” for former New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was a first-round pick? But the actual price was a second-round pick? It’s called negotiating.)But even if McKenzie held firm to the reported asking price Youth Genard Avery Jersey , it is something that Dorsey and the Browns would have to consider very strongly. Mack has posted 36.5 sacks in the past three seasons, the second most in the NFL. Pairing the 27-year-old Mack with defensive ends Myles Garrett (age 22) and Emmanuel Ogbah (age 24) would give the Browns a trio to terrorize quarterbacks for the next several years.Mack is about to embark on the final year of his rookie contract and is set to make a bit more than $13.4 million this year. Any trade would involve an extension, naturally, but with the Browns having more than $55 million in available cap space, per spotrac.com, and the luxury of having numerous key players - including quarterback Baker Mayfield - on their rookie deals, the money is there. As for the asking price http://www.thebrownsfootballauthentic.com/joel-bitonio-jersey-authentic , two first-round picks is a high cost, but Dorsey to weigh the value of hoping those picks turn into viable players vs. knowing that Mack is already a proven player. Plus, if things break right, the second of those two first-round picks could be in the second half of the round.Dorsey has shown that he is not afraid to take a shot and there is no better player for the “football guy” to shoot for right now than Khalil Mack. Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster bought 120 Mega Millions tickets at a gas station this week. He had big plans for what he would do with the $1.6 billion prize.First, he would pay teammate Le'Veon Bell to get the running back back to work.“I tried to win it so we could get Le’Veon back,” Smith-Schuster said, via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “It didn’t work.”Bell’s holdout continues http://www.thebrownsfootballauthentic.com/joe-schobert-jersey-authentic , with the running back losing $855,000 every week he stays away.Smith-Schuster, in the second year of his four-year, $4.2 million rookie deal, would have had plenty of money leftover after paying Bell. Smith-Schuster initially said he would take care of his teammates before jokingly rescinding the offer.“I’d still play ball, but have better cars, a better house Youth Myles Garrett Jersey , have that lifestyle,” Smith-Schuster said.Smith-Schuster got five numbers correct, returning $10 to him. He said he will use that to play Powerball, with that lottery drawing Wednesday night.“If you don鈥檛 ever play, you never know,” he said. “I had to go in there and shoot my shot.鈥 cheap football jerseys

Youth Nick Chubb Jersey ,” and that he knew the rookie was ready to play from the day the Cleveland Browns drafted him.Landry has said a lot. He has also backed it up by becoming the focal point of the Cleveland Browns offense. But even as a proven performer, the receiver said he needs to tweak some things with Mayfield taking over the quarterback position.“I got to turn up the JUGS machine to like eight or nine now, since Baker throws that ball so hard. He threw one to me in the game and I dropped it because I didn’t even know how to put my hands, and before I could make the decision, the ball was on me,” Landry said on NFL Network Ian Rapoport’s RapSheet and Friends podcast. “So, I just realized it’s a little bit of a different ball, a lot more velocity, so I definitely got to get on the JUGS for that, and catch as many balls from Baker as possible.”“I just kind of kept running and before you know it the ball was up and he throws the ball with so much zing,” Landry told Rapoport. “It got to me so quickly.”Mayfield’s velocity and quick decision-making were two standout traits he showcased last Thursday. While he might not fit the prototypical physical mold many think of when they imagine the ideal NFL quarterback, he spins a pretty football like you’d expect. You know there’s some English on those passes if a veteran like Landry is having to make adjustments to keep up.But throwing a pretty ball and making quick decisions aren’t all that goes into engineering a successful offense. It takes a connection between a quarterback and his receivers.“It is just trust. He is a football player and so am I. The trust level. To say that we have not gotten any reps [the trust level] seemed pretty high on Thursday,” Landry said during Wednesday’s player availability. There’s still a ways to go before Landry and Mayfield completely trust and are familiar enough with one another, but early returns have been positive. They’re going to be put in new situations each week and will benefit from figuring each other out when challenged in different ways.Since trust is so important, it’s remarkable how quickly the pair were able to build up a playing rapport despite not practicing together much at all. That speaks to how much both players prepare, not just in the week leading up to game day, but every day since they showed up in Berea.Because of his talent, attitude and work ethic, Landry said he has known for awhile that the rookie has what it takes to play in the NFL.“Since the day that that they drafted him,” Landry responded to the question. “Obviously, understanding the potential and the things that he can do and what makes him special and having the guys around him with the trust level at a premium to make the plays, as well.”“One thing that I know about him, he walks it like he talks it,” Landry added. “That is something that I appreciate and I respect about him and that he has continued to do.”After another solid day of interviews, Landry wouldn’t escape without leaving us another sound bite to chew on as we prepare for Mayfield’s first NFL start.“It’s that walk it talk it. He definitely has that attitude and charisma, and you know that’s contagious,” Landry finished with a chuckle. “It’s contagious.“Contagious.” On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns are home to take on the Los Angeles Chargers. To help preview a few topics from the Chargers’ perspective, we reached out to Jamie Sewell from Bolts from the Blue and exchanged five questions with him. Enjoy!Chris: “It must be pretty tough to put a label on how good the Chargers are this year. They have faced arguably the two best teams in the NFL and lost both of them, but then beaten arguably the three worst teams in the NFL. Where do season expectations stand for Chargers fans right now?”Jamie: “Good question! It can’t be often that there’s this kind of disparity in terms of the teams faced five games into the year. The Bills, Raiders, and 49ers (without Jimmy Garoppolo) are all poor teams, and the Chargers picked up the win each time (albeit with a bit of a close call against the 49ers). The Rams were always in control against the Chargers White Seth DeValve Jersey , and while the Chiefs eventually beat the Chargers 38-28, the Chargers spent the majority of that game shooting themselves in the foot. They had at least 6 or 7 crucial drops, including 3 that would have gone for long TDs. And therein lies the problem. The Chargers are so good at self-destructing and playing down to the competition, even the most talented Chargers teams are never seen as a real threat to make a run - and this is one of the most talented teams the Chargers have had in the past decade. After a huge let down Week 1 against the Chiefs (who have now beaten the Chargers 9 times in a row), it looks like the Bolts might finally be gathering some momentum, but Sunday will be a good test of how true that actually is. It’s a fairly easy schedule down the stretch, and there’s too much talent on paper for the Chargers to miss out on the postseason again, so I’ll pin the expectations at 10-6 and a wildcard spot behind the Chiefs. Honestly, though? Who knows. 8-8 would disappoint me, but it wouldn’t particularly surprise me, either.”Chris: “Safety Derwin James was the Chargers first round pick, and he currently leads the team in tackles. Tackles don’t always tell the story, though -- how has he performed through 5 games?”Jamie: “Incredibly. It was shocking to see him fall to #17 in the draft, and it’s even more shocking now that he’s looked every bit as good as advertised, if not better. The Chargers would be 2-3 (or possibly 1-4) without Derwin James. He’s playing some FS, where his range in covering the deep zone is remarkable, but he’s also playing in the box, covering TEs, and rushing the passer - without Joey Bosa, Derwin James has been the best pass rusher the Chargers have had. He’s also played some slot CB! He’s excelled everywhere the Chargers have lined him up, and credit has to go for DC Gus Bradley for utilising Derwin James like the Swiss Army Knife he is, but more credit has to go to Derwin James for - well, for being Derwin James. He had his worst game of the season last week against the Raiders, but it’s unfair to expect him to keep up the same excellent level of play week in, week out. Hopefully, that was just a little blip, and he’ll be back on form against the Browns on Sunday. If it wasn’t for Denzel Ward (and Darius Leonard) I’d say Derwin was the undisputed DROY through the first five weeks, but it’s going to be a fun competition there. The Browns have got themselves a great one in Ward.”Chris: “What is the strength and weakness of the Chargers’ offensive line?”Jamie: “This completely changes based on injuries, because both of the Chargers starting tackles were limited in practice all week, and are questionable to play. Russell Okung at LT is pretty good - he made the Pro Bowl last year - although Jerry Hughes for the Bills gave Okung real problems in Week 2. Okung got banged up against the 49ers in Week 4, and missed the game against the Raiders last week. The starting RT is Joe Barksdale, who’s probably a below average starter, although not a complete liability. He does have problems with injuries White JC Tretter Jersey , though - he got hurt Week 1 against the Chiefs and hasn’t played since - and it’s a guess as to whether Okung and Barksdale are back in, to be honest. If one of them misses out, last year’s 6th round pick Sam Tevi will step into the fold, either at LT or RT depending on which one it is on the shelf. Tevi is pretty athletic, and he’s great as a run blocker, but not all that strong as a pass blocker. He’s improving game by game, but bad things will happen if he has to block Myles Garrett. If both are out, UDFA Trent Scott comes in at RT and Tevi will play LT. Scott was signed as an UDFA from Grambling State, and he’s about as raw as you’d expect. He’s shown flashes, and hasn’t gotten Philip Rivers killed, but the Browns would be licking their chops at going up against him.At LG is their 3rd round pick from last year, Dan Feeney. He’s struggling, to be honest. PFF have him at a 38.6 overall for the year, which makes him the #71 rated OG. He’s definitely been a weak spot on the line so far. At RG is Michael Schofield. Schofield was originally signed as a G/T depth piece last season, but played well when called upon, and has found himself as the starting RG all season, because Forrest Lamp is, for whatever reason, not getting a look in. Schofield has played well, in fairness, and has probably been the best OL behind C Mike Pouncey. I love Mike Pouncey more than you should love a C. He’s allowed just two pressures all year, but his real strength comes out in space. This man can MOVE. Take a look at this:Pouncey has been an incredible addition to the team after being cut by the Dolphins this offseason, and is the glue holding a patchwork OL together. In reality, this line isn’t great, but Philip Rivers is able to mask their deficiencies by getting the ball out as quickly as he does. The Browns defensive front poses a nasty test, though, and I’m hoping that Okung and Barksdale are both able to go.”Chris: “If you were the Browns, which player(s) would they be wise to try to exploit on the Chargers’ defense?”Jamie: “Jahleel Addae had a career year playing as a box safety last year, but the addition of Derwin James has pushed him back into a FS role, which is a position he’s just not cut out for. Addae struggles in coverage, is making bad reads, and takes... uhh, interesting? angles to the ball:He’s number #37 in this clip http://www.authenticsclevelandbrowns.com/cheap-joel-bitonio-jersey , but you probably could tell that. It hurts, because I really like Addae when he’s close to the line of scrimmage, but he’s just not working out at FS. The Chargers LBs also have a problem, because both Kyzir White and Jatavis Brown - the starting OLB and his backup - are out this week (Jatavis is doubtful, but after not practicing all week it’s hard to see him making it). That’s probably going to mean more Nick Dzubnar at OLB, who’s a Special Teamer and should never be playing a single snap on defense. The Chargers LBs have an awful tendency to bite on playaction fakes and open up space over the middle of the field (behind them, but in front of Addae), and I’d say the Browns could have a lot of success by running playaction and looking to expose the Chargers LBs (and Addae) in coverage.”Chris: “Tell us about a player on offense and a player on defense who are playing a key role for the Chargers this year, but who Browns fans may not have heard of.”Jamie: “I love being asked this question, because it means I get to talk about Austin Ekeler. Austin Ekeler is very good at football. An UDFA from Western State last year, Ekeler climbed the depth chart in preseason to snag the #3 RB job, and it wasn’t long before he started getting meaningful touches, and making them count. He’s looked even better this year, and despite only seeing about 25 touches a game is usually good for about 120 yards from scrimmage and a TD, whether it be rushing or receiving. The Chargers coaching staff need to find more ways to get Ekeler and Melvin Gordon onto the field at the same time, because Ekeler is probably the second best playmaker on the offense behind Keenan Allen. Gordon and Ekeler are on pace for the most yards from scrimmage ever for a RB duo (a record which Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram set last year), and trust me, that’s not just down to Melvin Gordon. (Personally, I don’t think there’s anything that Gordon actually does better than Ekeler, but that’s not always a popular opinion). On defense? I was going to say Kyzir White, but he’s out, and that doesn’t leave a lot of choice, because the Chargers defense has been pretty disappointing so far this season. I’ll go with DT Darius Philon and DE Damion Square, because together, they’ve made a defensive line without Joey Bosa look not completely awful. Square started the season at NT, but he’s so much better served at DE, where his size and skillset fits better. Next to him inside is Darius Philon, who is easily the Chargers best interior DL after being a 6th round pick from Arkansas in 2015. Andy Benoit said this last season:Andy is wrong like usual, because Philon definitely isn’t at that level. But he’s a solid DT, and he’s definitely capable of causing the Browns some problems on Sunday.”Thanks again to Jamie for taking the time to answer my questions. Custom Miami Dolphins Jerseys

(cleveland.com) -Suppose the Browns beat Pittsburgh Sunday. And suppose they reach the midpoint of the season with a 3-4-1 record. And suppose they are 2-0-1 in the AFC North. How would you feel about that Browns team with a 3-4-1 record if the coach wasn’t named Hue Jackson?10 things to know about Browns-Steelers (clevelandbrowns.com) - Here are some stats and facts to know before Sunday’s matchup at Heinz Field.AFC North quarterbacks in career slumps (Canton Repository) - Baker Mayfield’s first duel with Ben Roethlisberger comes in his fifth Browns start. He’s just starting out in a division whose long-time QBs (under long-time head coaches) are in career slumps.Garrett Womens Jarvis Landry Jersey , Peppers view Steelers game as unfinished business (PFT) - The Browns and Steelers get together on Sunday, seven weeks (and 70 minutes) after playing to a draw in Week One. A pair of defensive players who arrived in Cleveland via round one of the 2017 draft provided the same answer when asked on Friday whether the rematch entails a sense of unfinished business: “Absolutely.”Browns are NFL’s most entertaining team (Wall Street Journal) - The first game of the Browns’ season laid out a blueprint for pretty much everything that has happened since. Cleveland’s year has been simultaneously disappointing and promising. And it’s been altogether exhilarating.NFL:Texans wide receiver Will Fuller suffers torn ACL (Houston Chronicle) - Texans starting wide receiver Will Fuller tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and is out for the season, according to coach Bill O’Brien. A magnetic resonance imaging exam was conducted Friday to confirm the initial diagnosis from Fuller getting hurt Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins. The Bengals offense is in decline (cincinnati.com) - The Bengals offense was the toast of the NFL in September, this month, however, they’ve regressed to one of the worst. Is this a blip or the new normal? We’re about to find out.Aggressive-minded NFL follows in wake of Eagles’ success (ESPN) -Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz had the same reaction as many across the country when Doug Pederson put two fingers in the air instead of one late against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5, his team trailing by eight.Jimmy Garoppolo talks about his injury Youth Denzel Ward Jersey , comeback (Mercury News) - There’s something Jimmy Garoppolo wants you to know. “This isn’t something I want to get used to,” the 49ers quarterback said Friday after hobbling to his locker on crutches. “I want to be out there with the guys battling and preparing for the week. We’ll get back there next year.”Emmanuel Ogbah to miss Sunday’s game with ankle injury The Cleveland Browns will be without starting defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah on Sunday when they face the New Orleans Saints. Ogbah will miss the game with an ankle sprain he suffered late in the first quarter of the Week 1 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Ogbah came back in that game, he was limited to just 27 games and was spotted at team headquarters on Monday in a walking boot.As if that was not enough, starting linebacker Christian Kirksey is questionable as he works his way through shoulder and ankle injuries: Kirksey has not missed a game in his NFL career, so it would be surprising if he is not on the field come kickoff on Sunday. The Browns will turn to defensive end Chris Smith, signed in the offseason as a free agent from the Cincinnati Bengals, and Anthony Zettel Youth Jabrill Peppers Jersey , claimed off waivers from the Detroit Lions prior to the season opener, in Ogbah’s absence. It should also open up additional pass rushing opportunities for rookie linebacker Genard Avery.Fortunately for the Browns and Ogbah, the third-year defensive end avoided a high-ankle sprain, which would have landed him on the sidelines for multiple weeks. However, with the Browns following up the game against the Saints with a home game against the New York Jets on September 20 - just four days later - it is a distinct possibility that Ogbah will not return to the field until the September 30 game against the Oakland Raiders. It’s disappointing to think of Ogbah missing a pair of games, but if it helps him be healthy for the rest of the season that would help ease the pain. Custom Green Bay Packers Jerseys

As opposed to their last two games Authentic Isaiah Wynn Jersey , the New England Patriots’ contest against the Buffalo Bills was not decided on its final play. The 25-6 final score can be misleading as the game was a closer one than the initial look might make it seem, however, but it still one that produced plenty of memorable performances. So without the benefit of a film review, let’s take a look at some of them – for better or for worse:Winner: DE Trey FlowersWhile he did not register a sack, Trey Flowers was still arguably the most disruptive player on the Patriots defense. The 25-year old set a hard edge no matter on which side of the formation he lined up, and put constant pressure on quarterback Derek Anderson – finishing with two hits and a near-interception on a pass deflection. Furthermore, two of Flowers’ tackles came for a loss of yardage. An all-around good performance.Winner: DT Lawrence Guy & DT Malcom BrownThe Patriots tried to force Buffalo – without starting quarterback Josh Allen – into throwing the football, a plan that would not have worked if not for the run stoppers up front doing their job. Lawrence Guy and Malcom Brown were therefore integral to New England’s defensive success, even though the duo finished with just one combined tackle. Nevertheless, their presence at the heart of the Patriots line allowed the team to hold Buffalo’s running backs to just 47 yards on 18 carries.Loser: RB Cordarrelle PattersonWith Sony Michel out, New England turned to depth wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson as the de-facto early down running back. While he did have a big 22-yard run in the fourth quarter to set up the game’s first touchdown, the results were generally underwhelming. Patterson failed to get to the second level or generate a noticeable push – partly because of the offense line and the Buffalo defense, but partly because of his inability to hit holes with power.Winner: LB Kyle Van NoyWith Dont’a Hightower out because of a knee injury, Kyle Van Noy was active as the team’s top linebacker and finished the game with a team-leading eight tackles – one of which for loss –, as well as a pair of sacks and a forced fumble. The third-year Patriot, who served as the on-field signal caller during Hightower’s absence, had a huge impact on the contest and led New England’s defense to an encouraging performance.Loser: Red zone offenseNew England reached Buffalo’s red zone three times but came away with just 13 of a possible 21 points, settling for a touchdown and two field goals. Had the Patriots been able to properly execute in the red area, the game might not have been as close as it was until the fourth period. However Limited Danny Etling Jersey , the team allowed the Bills – who played tremendous red area defense – to hang around longer than was necessary.Winner: WR Julian EdelmanOn a day on which the Patriots offense failed to find a rhythm, Julian Edelman again proved his value to the unit as one of Tom Brady’s safety blankets. The veteran and number one wide receiver finished the day with nine catches for a team-high 104 yards – including a critical third down conversion on the team’s first touchdown drive of the day. Furthermore, Edelman gained 13 yards on two carries.Winner: SS Patrick ChungBuffalo’s passing offense is none to be afraid of, but it was still encouraging to see the Patriots limit the impact of the team’s best receiving options. One of them is tight end Charles Clay, who most of the time was matched up against Patrick Chung. Clay finished the day with just three catches for 36 yards, while Chung registered five tackles, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.Loser: RB Kenjon BarnerAs noted above, the Patriots were without starting running back Sony Michel. However, they did not turn to one of their two active backs to replace him: Kenjon Barner was on the field for just seven offensive snaps and finished the day with only four yards on two carries as the aforementioned Patterson took over as the de-facto lead back. Barner, meanwhile, appears to be little more than the team’s last emergency option at the position.Loser: P Ryan AllenNew England’s special teams units did again not have a particularly strong day, and Ryan Allen’s performance is a perfect reflection for that. The veteran, who beat out current Bills punter Corey Bojorquez during the Patriots’ training camp, had a hard time flipping the field position in his team’s favor. While the wind may have had an impact on this, Allen’s 37.0 is still unimpressive no matter the factors at play.Winner: RB James WhiteJames White once again served as New England’s offensive motor. While the Patriots offense generally had a hard time when it came to moving the football against a stout Buffalo defense, the running back did his best to keep the unit moving one yard at a time. When all was said and done, White had amassed 79 of them on a team-high 10 catches and 15 more and the offense’s lone touchdown of the night non eight carries.Winner: FS Devin McCourtyOne of the Patriots’ defensive standouts was Devin McCourty, who had one of the biggest plays of the night: while the veteran had a relatively quiet day through the first three quarters Sony Michel Jersey Salute to Service , he blew the contest open in the fourth period with an interception return touchdown. McCourty read the quarterback perfectly, undercut the route, and took the pick 84-yards to the end zone to essentially ice the game for New England. The Indianapolis Colts made a firm commitment to Matt Eberflus in January. They stuck to it after the man who initially hired Eberflus to be Indy's defensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, reneged on a deal to become the next coach and they lived up to their promise after eventually hiring Frank Reich in February. It's worked out well for the Colts."He's a consistent guy, he's got a consistent message every day and he believes in the system," middle linebacker Anthony Walker said Tuesday. "That's what you want as a player, a guy who believes in the system."The system looks awfully familiar to longtime Colts' fans.Eberflus reinstalled the Tampa 2 defense, the zone concept popularized by Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy. General manager Chris Ballard saw it work in Chicago under Lovie Smith, one of Dungy's former pupils, and Reich worked with it on Dungy's staff when he first started coaching in 2006. Indy capped that season by winning the Super Bowl. The low-key personalities and focused approaches also proved a perfect match. But the real investment came in free agency and the draft. While Colts fans waited impatiently for Ballard to make a splashy move, he mostly avoided the high-priced free agents and instead went with less-familiar names who could excel in Eberflus' system. The results have been remarkable.Linebacker Darius Leonard, a second-round pick, has a league-high 104 tackles and Walker has 67 tackles, nearly four times as many as he had in 2017.Defensive end Kemoko Turay has shown flashes of being a disruptive pass rusher and Tyquan Lewis showed promise in his first two games after missing the first eight with an injured toe. Both were second-round draft picks in April."We're getting to the ball, causing turnovers," Leonard said. "We don't do a lot, there's not a lot of thinking so it's very easy for me to go out and play."Not just for the young guys, either.Jabaal Sheard moved from outside linebacker to defensive end and already has matched his sacks total (5陆) from last season. Veteran defensive linemen Margus Hunt has gone from rotation player to starter and has had a career-best season.Safeties Clayton Geathers and Malik Hooker have been rounding into form after missing most of last season and part of this season with injuries Duke Dawson Jersey , and outsiders have noticed a difference."They hustle. They have great team effort. They have very good team speed. They stunt the front and they are all very good hitters," Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden said recently. "They seem to really like each other. They seem to have a really good, I think, overall down to down competitive nature about them."The individual numbers only tell part of the story. After finishing 30th in the league in yards allowed per game in 2016 and 2017 and 26th or worse in four of Chuck Pagano's six seasons as head coach, Indy has jumped to No. 20 this season. Through 10 games, they have 26 sacks and are on pace for their highest total since 2013.The Colts have allowed 17.5 points to their past four opponents and only four teams have more takeaways than Indy (19).Not surprisingly, the Colts (5-5) have won all four, moving back into the playoff picture largely because of a defensive resurgence few expected in Eberflus' first season."I think you have to go through this process. Sometimes you take a couple steps forward and one step back or three or four steps forward and one or two back," Eberflus said. "But it's really about the guys buying into it."It could be just the start. The young Colts are still getting acclimated to Eberflus and his scheme, are still learning how to play consistently well and still must demonstrate they can withstand the late-season rigors to make a playoff run.But for the first time in a long time, the Colts' defense no longer looks like the weak link. Instead, Eberflus has demonstrated just how promising the future could be."I think guys are buying into the style slowly but it's not consistent yet," Eberflus said. "Today in the film room we pointed out all the loafs and all the missed assignments, so we can definitely get better week to week and now it's about being consistent week to week."Notes: With the likelihood of starting center Ryan Kelly out with an injured left knee, the Colts signed center Josh Andrews off the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. ... Indy also put cornerback D.J. Killings on injured reserve and waived cornerback Arthur Maulet.

NASHVILLE Limited Jeremy Hill Jersey , Tenn. (AP) — Tom Brady added another big chunk of NFL history to his resume. The Tennessee Titans made sure the Patriots quarterback didn’t finish his 300th game by hitting him over and over again. The Titans sacked Brady three times and hit him six more times as they beat New England 34-10 Sunday, snapping a seven-game skid against the Patriots in Mike Vrabel’s first game as head coach against the team he helped win three Super Bowls. It was the most sacks allowed in a game this season by the Patriots (7-3), and coach Bill Belichick pulled Brady for Brian Hoyer midway through the fourth quarter.“You got to make Tom blink, and if you make him blink and have to go to a second read you got a chance,” Vrabel said of his former teammate. “But if you let him rip it to the first guy he looks at, it’s going to be a long day.”Asked if he thought Brady was effective, Belichick said to ask Brady.“It was just a bad day for all of us,” Brady said.Only Brett Favre (326) has played in more games, both regular season and postseason, as a quarterback than Brady. The three-time NFL MVP also needed only three touchdown passes to tie Peyton Manning (579) for the NFL record for most TD passes all time for both the regular season and postseason.Brady left having thrown for 254 yards and no TD passes. The Titans outgained the Patriots 385-284, holding New England to just 40 yards rushing. Linebacker Wesley Woodyard, who had 1½ sacks, said that allowed them to get after Brady.“Coach Vrabel said make them pay for everything,” Woodyard said. “Tackle him Jordan Matthews Jersey , hit him and make him feel it.”Marcus Mariota capped each of the first two drives with TD passes, and Derrick Henry ran for a pair of TDs. Ryan Succop also added two field goals as the Titans (5-4) scored a season high in points after jumping out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter. They now have beaten both of last season’s Super Bowl teams in Nashville. The loss snaps a six-game winning streak going into New England’s bye. The Patriots, who routed the Titans 35-14 in January, also lost to Tennessee for the first time since Dec. 16, 2002.Darius Jennings opened the game with a 58-yard kickoff return, and Mariota capped the drive with a 4-yard TD pass to Jonnu Smith. The Titans never trailed again. The Titans came in with the NFL’s stingiest scoring defense and also leading the league in fewest touchdowns allowed in the red zone. They held the Patriots to a pair of 52-yard field-goal attempts by Stephen Gostkowski, who missed his second wide left. James Develin scored on a 1-yard TD run early in the second, which pulled New England within 17-10.Brady looked ready to pull off another amazing comeback, driving the Pats to the Titans 37. The Titans stopped Brady a yard shy of the first down after catching a pass from Julian Edelman. A false start followed, then Logan Ryan, a former New England cornerback, broke up a Brady pass to Edelman to turn the ball over.On the very next play, Vrabel called his own trick play with Jennings throwing to a wide-open Mariota for a 21-yard gain.Hoyer replaced Brady on the next drive.EX-PATS CONNECTIONSTennessee fired coach Mike Mularkey after the January playoff loss and hired Vrabel to try to recreate the Patriots’ winning ways with the Titans. Vrabel hired Dean Pees, a former Patriots linebackers coach and defensive coordinator Jonathan Jones Jersey Salute to Service , as his defensive coordinator. General manager Jon Robinson, who started in New England, signed cornerback Malcolm Butler and running back Dion Lewis in free agency.“That’s what happens when you go cheap,” Lewis said. “You get your (expletive) kicked.”RARE BRADY CATCHBrady’s catch was just the third of his career and first since Dec. 6, 2015, when he caught a 36-yarder from Danny Amendola against Philadelphia. At 41, Brady became the oldest player with a catch since Jerry Rice had 30 at the age of 42. Brady slipped at the end and said he didn’t know what happened.“It was ‘fish out of water,'” Brady said.Mariota also has three receptions, including catching his own pass in the playoffs last January. Vrabel said Mariota got up faster than Brady did. Mariota said he had one thought on his reception: “Just catch it.”INJURIESPatriots left tackle Trent Brown missed the final drive of the first half and was announced as questionable to return because of illness. LaAdrian Waddle replaced him for that series, but Brown returned for the first start of the third quarter. Brown left later in the third quarter with an injured back. Edelman hurt an ankle and didn’t return. Tight end Dwayne Allen also hurt a knee in the third quarter.Titans running back David Fluellen picked up 16 yards on back-to-back runs, then went down untouched on the next play with a knee injury.UP NEXTPatriots: Bye, then visit Jets on Nov. 25.Titans: Visit Indianapolis.Week 2 Patriots vs Jaguars: Bill Belichick says that “nothing is more important” against Jacksonville than ball security The New England Patriots will face one of the NFL’s premier defenses today and for head coach Bill Belichick this means one thing: stressing ball security. The Patriots need to do a better job than last week, when they turned the football over a combined three times, if they plan on leaving Jacksonville win a win under their collective belt – and Belichick knows it: “There’s nothing more important for us in this game than taking care of the ball Ja'Whaun Bentley Jersey ,” he said in this week’s edition of the Belestrator. The breakdown stars with Belichick and host Scott Zolak taking a look at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ high-powered defense. Using adjectives like “fast” and “athletic”, Belichick points out that the unit does a good job of rushing the quarterback and is able to close space quickly versus the pass.An interception during last year’s playoffs is shown as an example: cornerback Jalen Ramsey deflects a pass intended for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and safety Barry Church is able to run it back for a touchdown. After that play, Belichick and Zolak take a look at middle linebacker Myles Jack and how his athleticism makes him a threat to quickly turn takeaways into points. The conversation then changed to the offensive side of the football, where Keelan Cole established himself as a potent option at the wide receiver position. Belichick points out that quarterback Blake Bortles does a good job of using his weapons – Cole in the example used in the breakdown – and as a very good deep ball thrower can put pressure on the deep parts of a defense.Bortles, who has struggled with inconsistency throughout his four-year career, is also dangerous as a runner. Last week against the New York Giants, he even registered Jacksonville’s longest play of the day, a 41-yard run. “We can’t let him out [of the pocket],” Belichick said about the former first-round draft pick. The Patriots’ head coach noted that the Jaguars’ big play ability is generally something his team needs to be prepared for.“Between their running game, their defense and their big plays on offense, they can score in a hurry,” Belichick said.

Later today Mike Gillislee Jersey Salute to Service , the New England Patriots play their fourth and final game of the season against an AFC South opponent. In order for the team to improve its record against the division to 3-1, both sides of the football need to play a disciplined game against a Tennessee Titans team that fields one of the best defenses in the NFL and an offense that may not sit atop the statistical leaderboards but has still helped win four games so far this season.Let’s find out what the Patriots have to do to beat them.Be disciplined in the front sevenTennessee has one of the NFL’s most balanced offensive attacks: led by running backs Dion Lewis and Derrick Henry as well and quarterback Marcus Mariota, the team has not shied away from turning to its ground game to get the offense going — and the Patriots need to be ready for it as well today. Being disciplined up front in terms of technique and gap integrity therefore has to be a key for New England: the team can neither allow Lewis and company to get to the perimeter nor to open up lanes for Mariota to exploit as a ball carrier. If that happens and the Titans have to turn primarily to their inconsistent passing game to generate yards, the Patriots’ chances of winning should look good. Don’t be afraid to go for the home runEven though safety Kevin Byard is one of the better players in the NFL at his position, New England should not be afraid to challenge Tennessee deep — especially on the side of the field where Malcolm Butler is lining up. While Butler is not as bad a player this year as his statistics suggest, the Patriots knows his weaknesses as well as anybody and should use this knowledge to their advantage. Trying to get a physically imposing player like Josh Gordon in one-on-one situations against Butler should be a goal for the team, and one that could field results.Win in the red zoneTennessee’s offense is one of the least productive in the NFL when it comes to scoring points, but it has still found some success in the red zone this season. Meanwhile James Develin Jersey , the team’s defense is arguably the best in the league at keeping teams from scoring touchdowns when backed up. Safe to say that the red area will therefore be a deciding factor of today’s game: if the Patriots offense can overcome its inconsistencies in this part of the field and the defense can continue following its bend-don’t-break principles, the team will have a successful day. Josh Allen had mixed emotions after an inconsistent performance in his first meeting with boyhood idol Tom Brady.“I wanted to beat him, for sure,” the Bills rookie quarterback said following Buffalo’s 24-12 loss at New England on Sunday. “He’s one of the greatest to ever do it and as a young kid growing up, I never thought I’d get the opportunity to be on the same field as him.“So it’s a cool feeling. But at the same time, I was focused on winning a football game.”Then again, it wasn’t so much Brady who beat the Bills. It was the Bill Belichick-coached Patriots defense that stifled Allen and Buffalo’s offense.Having shown progress in Allen’s previous four starts since he returned from missing four games with a sprained throwing elbow, the Bills offense took a step back against New England. The Bills (5-10) totaled 289 yards of offense and managed 14 first downs after gaining more than 300 yards and producing more than 20 first downs in five of their last six games.Allen completed 20 of 41 passes for 217 yards Authentic LaAdrian Waddle Jersey , one touchdown and two interceptions. It was the fifth time in 10 starts Allen has committed two or more turnovers. The Patriots disguised their coverages in the first half and limited Allen to 48 yards passing. It was the fifth time this season he has had 60 or fewer yards at halftime.“They did that for an obvious reason, being young,” Allen said. “It took a little bit to adjust to. At the same time, I’ve got to be better with my eyes, got to be better with where I put the football.”Belichick improved to 10-0 at home when facing a rookie quarterback, and 17-5 overall.Allen boosted his passing totals with 72 yards and Buffalo’s only touchdown in the final minutes when the game had already been decided. The garbage-time production led Allen to topping 200 yards for the fifth consecutive game, the longest streak by a Bills quarterback since Tyrod Taylor’s five-game stretch from Nov. 30-Dec. 20, 2015.The Bills did little to help their rookie quarterback on offense. Allen’s receivers dropped several passes Limited Shaq Mason Jersey , tight end Jason Croom fumbled in the red zone after 24-yard gain, and the running game was ineffective.“When given the opportunity, you’ve got to make plays,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said. “Look, sometimes Josh could have made a better throw. But there were other times where the ball was catchable and you’ve got to make plays on the ball.”Buffalo finished with 72 yards rushing, the first time in five games it failed to rush for 100 or more. LeSean McCoy returned after missing one game with a hamstring injury but had only 9 yards on six carries. Undrafted rookie Keith Ford led the Bills with 33 yards on seven carries.Allen scrambled five times for 30 yards. He leads the Bills in rushing this season with 536 yards, but has been held to 46 over the past two weeks after totaling 335 in his previous three games.Buffalo’s defense had one glaring weakness in allowing a season-high 273 rushing yards against the Patriots. But the Bills defense gave Allen opportunities with three takeaways and limited Brady to 126 passing yards — his lowest since he threw for 123 yards in a 2003 loss to the Bills.“Our defense played spectacular,” Allen said. “They forced three turnovers and we got (three) points off that Drew Bledsoe Jersey Salute to Service , and that starts with me.”Brady greeted Allen on the field after the game and gave the rookie some encouragement.“Nothing too crazy, but he’s one of the good ones off the field, too,” Allen said. “I’m sure he doesn’t want to share too many of his tricks or whatever is up his sleeve. Got to hand it to him. Such a long career and he’s still playing extremely well.”

Philadelphia Eagles. Two teams Color Rush Curtis Riley Jersey , and fan bases, that largely don’t like each other. With a game between the NFC East rivals looming Thursday, let’s venture into enemy territory and learn some things about the Eagles. Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation answers our 5 questions.Ed: What is your assessment of the Eagles thus far? I thought they would win this division in a cakewalk, and they still might, but I’m surprised to see them at 2-3.Brandon: It’s safe to say the reigning Super Bowl champs have been a disappointment through the first five games of the season. This has been a team that just can’t stop shooting themselves in the foot. Take their most recent loss to the Vikings for example. After finally starting to string a promising drive together, Lane Johnson allows Carson Wentz to get strip-sacked and Linval Joseph recovers for a touchdown. Then they get another drive going and actually move into the red zone but Jay Ajayi fumbles at the 5-yard line. The Eagles recover a fumble at the Vikings’ 30-yard line with a chance to take the lead and then proceed to knock themselves out of scoring range by taking an illegal formation penalty followed by a grounding call. Mistakes are always going to happen during the game but it feels like the Eagles continue to make theirs at the worst times. Part of the reason the Eagles haven’t been able to get out of their own way is they have a number of position groups that are underperforming. The offensive line is arguably the biggest disappointment in this regard. After having one of the best lines in the league last season, Philly’s front is suddenly struggling to protect Carson Wentz. The third-year quarterback has been sacked 12 times and hit 27 times during his first three games back from ACL injury. I certainly don’t need to lecture Giants fans on the importance of offensive line play.Jim Schwartz’s defense isn’t off the hook, either. The Eagles’ secondary has been far too leaky. Philadelphia ranks 26th in big-play rate allowed. In the Eagles’ past two games, opposing quarterbacks have combined for 60/80 (75% completion), 645 yards (8.1 average), 4 TD Youth Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , 1 INT, and a 98.8 passer rating. Put simply, the Eagles just aren’t playing like a good team right now.Ed: How much are they hurt by the loss of Jay Ajayi, and if the Eagles are indeed interested in a LeSean McCoy reunion is that something you would be in favor of?Brandon: Losing Jay Ajayi is significant because he’s the Eagles’ most talented running back, when healthy. The problem is he hasn’t been healthy this year. Prior to tearing his ACL, he suffered a fractured bone in his back during Week 2. I don’t know how he managed to play through both that AND a torn ACL against the Vikings, but that just goes to show you he’s one tough dude.Ajayi is the Eagles’ leading rusher this season with 184 carries and three touchdowns on 45 attempts. He hasn’t been Philly’s most efficient ball-carrier, though. Surprisingly, fourth-string running back Wendell Smallwood leads the team in rush average at 6.0. In addition to his 150 yards on 25 carries, he’s logged 10 receptions for 96 yards and one score. He’s far from an elite back but he deserves some credit for stepping up.With Smallwood playing well and Corey Clement returning, I’m not ready to flat out panic about the Eagles’ running back situation. Those guys can be at least solid behind an Eagles offensive line that’s struggled in pass protection but has looked good while run blocking. But there’s certainly a lot of room to improve and getting a top weapon like Le’Veon Bell or LeSean McCoy would be really nice right now. The Eagles’ offense rank 28th in big-play rate. They need more play-makers.From a football standpoint Color Rush Patrick Omameh Jersey , I think McCoy could make sense for the Eagles depending on the cost. From a personal standpoint, I don’t love the idea of rooting on McCoy given all the off-field stuff that’s going on with him.Ed: Where do you think the Eagles have a clear advantage in this game?Brandon: Well, in theory the Eagles’ defensive line should be able to get to Eli Manning. The Giants’ offensive line ranks 24th overall by Pro Football Focus. Football Outsiders, meanwhile, has New York ranked 31st in run blocking and 26th in adjusted sack rate. It seems like the Giants should struggle against an Eagles pass rush that’s generating the highest percent of plays where the opposing quarterback has been under pressure (57%), per PFF. The Eagles could very well make life difficult on Eli Manning and force him into some bad throws and/or sacks.Ed: Where do you think the Giants could have an advantage?Brandon: On the other hand, the Eagles’ pass rush didn’t really faze the Giants last year. Manning had two of his best games of the season against Philly. The Giants were able to get the ball out quick and it felt like the Eagles couldn’t stop the same slant route that the Giants were running over and over. The Giants should even be more difficult to defend now that Odell Beckham Jr. is back. You can be Pat Shurmur will try to get OBJ matched up against Eagles starting cornerback Jalen Mills, who has struggled this season. During last year’s Week 3 Eagles-Giants game, Mills was targeted a whopping 21 TIMES. New York saw a weakness and they tried to exploit it. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them go after Mills again this year.Ed: If you could have one player off the Giants roster for the Eagles NOT named Saquon Barkley or Odell Beckham, who would you take?Brandon: I’ll take Landon Collins. The Eagles are dangerously thin at safety right now with Rodney McLeod out for the season and veteran backup Corey Graham now dealing with a hamstring issue. Philadelphia’s three healthy safeties include: Malcolm Jenkins, Avonte Maddox Color Rush Nate Solder Jersey , and Deiondre’ Hall. Jenkins is obviously a great player. Maddox isn’t even a real safety. The rookie cornerback never played on the back end of the defense until two weeks ago. The Eagles acquired Hall during final cuts and he hasn’t seen any defensive playing time despite the fact Philly is depleted at safety. Collins would fill the Eagles’ biggest need. I also considered Damon Harrison because he’s dominant and the Eagles are getting nothing out of their defensive tackles not named Fletcher Cox. Sterling Shepard would also help an Eagles wide receiving corps that’s not giving the team a ton right now. Happy Thursday, New York Giants fans. The New York Giants lost a heartbreaker to the Carolina Panthers Authentic Ray-Ray Armstrong Jersey , 33-31, Sunday as the Panthers squeaked past the woebegone Giants with a last-second 63-yard field goal. The Giants broke the 30-point barrier (which, honestly, shouldn’t even BE a barrier for a team with the offensvie firepower the Giants boast) for the first time since 2015, but it wasn’t enough to overcome their own play. What can did we learn from the Giants’ tough loss in Carolina? The Giants’ special teams remain a problemAs Dan Pizzuta and I noted this week after the loss to the New Orleans Saints on the Big Blue reView podcast, it’s a sad state of affairs when the best thing you have to talk about on special teams is the improvement of your kicker. And kudos to Aldrick Rosas, because he HAS improved this season. Yes, he did kick one out of bounds on a slick field, but he nailed a career-long 53-yard field goal, has been perfect on the season, and solved any kick coverage problems by simply depositing the ball behind the opposing endzone. That’s about where the kudos will end. The Giants’ punt coverage remains an adventure, and they STILL can’t seem to find a reliable punt returner, even with Odell Beckham Jr.’s presence back there. The Giant added a bevy or special teams specialists in the offseason, and hired a new Special Teams Coordinator — though Tom Quinn remains as an assistant as Thomas McGauhey fights his own battle with cancer. We don’t talk much about special teams, but it is a vital part of the game. Even a great offense and defense can’t overcome the hidden yardage lost by bad special teams. It’s a problem the Giants need to fix, but they might not be able to do so this year. The Giants’ are undisciplinedSloppy tackling. Bad penalties.Poor routes.Mental mistakes and miscommunications on offense and defense. These things have been problems throughout the 2018 for the Giants, but they hadn’t come together quite like they did against the Carolina Panthers. Though the team came in to the game as the least-penalized team in the NFL, the Giants are still undisciplined. The NFL has an officiating problemThis isn’t just limited to today’s game against the Giants. The officiating has been horrific league-wide all season long. The most egregious today was the unnecessary roughness penalty against Landon Collins as three Giants collided while coming for wide receiver Devin Funchess. The problem? Collins was going for the interception and Funchess fell into the back of Collins’ helmet. The play would have ended the Panthers’ drive, but instead the penalty kept the drive alive, which ended in points. Later in the game there was a somewhat questionable call on Kerry Wynn to cancel out a holding call on the Panthers which would have had them starting with a 1st and 20 on their final drive. These calls on the heels of a pair of terrible calls on Clay Matthews in the second and third weeks of the season, and a bevy of others around the NFL.Considering the Panthers only won by two points on a career-long 63-yard field goal as timethe difference in the game. Blame could also be levied on Odell Beckham’s mistake on special teams or the defense’s bad tackling in the first half. This has become a big problem across the league. One the league will either need to address or heir product will continue to suffer. The Giants playmakers can make playsFor the first time this season, the Giants’ playmakers all showed up and made plays. In the same game.Beckham’s blunder on special teams might have been the difference in the game, but he made up for it by throwing a 57-yard touchdown to Saquon Barkley and making a terrific catch for a 33-yard touchdown touchdown of his own. Sterling Shepard was clutch with four catches for 75 yards to help keep Giants’ drives alive.Saquon Barkley finished the game with 129 total yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Giants’ lost in a fashion that could have been called “fluky” if they hadn’t put themselves in that position with three quarters of bad www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com , sloppy play. But, their playmakers did enough that they could have won, and showed the league what There is no running gameDave Gettleman introduced us all to the phrase “Hog Mollies” this past offseason as he vowed to “fix” it and return the Giants’ to a hard-nosed run-first offense. In doing so he threw money at Nate Solder and Patrick Omameh, drafted Will Hernandez and Saquon Barkley, let Justin Pugh, Weston Richburg, and D.J. Fluker walk in free agency and traded Brett Jones for a 7th round pick. In 2017 the Giants averaged 24.5 rushing attempts per game, for 3.9 yards per carry, and 2 sacks per game.In 2018 they are averaging 19.6 carries per game, 3.8 yards per carry, and 3.2 sacks per game. The offensive line is giving Eli Manning time to throw the ball, as he has had roughly league-average time to throw thus far this season, but the pass protection is unpredictable, and a jailbreak could occur on any play. And so far, the vast majority of the team’s 75 rushing yards per game have come from Barkley either making defenders miss with his agility, or running through arm tackles with his power. All while Barkley has been facing one of the lowest percentage of runs against eight-man boxes in the league. It could be argued that the Giants haven’t called enough running plays, but from Shurmur’s perspective, why bother? With some exceptions, Gettleman’s Hog Mollies have been playing like playing like piglets. The Giants actually showed some heartThe Giants could have folded up their tent and started back up for New York at the half. They played some pathetic football in the first two quarters. With the exception of Beckham and Barkley, they were uninspired on offense and the defense couldn’t tackle its way out of a wet paper bag. But they came out to play, really play, in the second half. Ultimately, it didn’t matter and they lost anyway. But this was the first loss in a long time that could actually be called a “heartbreaker”.Because the Giants FINALLY showed some damn heart. Beckham was getting ripped for his special teams blunder and having a touchdown ripped out of his hands — all after publicly criticizing his teammates for not matching his passion and energy. But in the second half New York Giants T-Shirt , and especially the fourth quarter, the team finally seemed to find its way to feeding on Beckham.Eli Manning had his worst game of the season from an efficiency perspective, but he came out and attacked the defense. There were a couple bad interceptions and he was off target at times, but he didn’t spend the whole game checking down for easy completions. After his second interception he kept throwing the ball down the field and picked up more than 100 yards on 5 completions and a touchdown. He averaged 9.1 yards per attempt, up from around 6 yards per attempt against the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars.Beckham played like the receiver we all know he is, with 8 receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown. The defense played with fire, stepping up their run defense and held Christian McCaffrey to a season-low 3.4 yards per carry. They still miss Olivier Vernon off the edge, but they did get after Newton some in the passing game. They weren’t able to do quite enough to allow the offense to overcome bad play and bad calls, but this defense, which has played hard all season, stayed in it when it looked like they were going to have to once again carry a putrid offense. Does it mean anything and will they be able to carry it over to their Thursday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles? We’ll find out, but this feels as much like a win as possible for a heartbreaking loss. The fan base for the Vikings stretches well beyond Minnesota, with strongholds in North Dakota, South Dakota and parts of Iowa.It crosses the Canadian border, too. Just ask Brett Jones.Acquired in a trade with the New York Giants to help shore up a shaky interior of the offensive line, Jones joined the Vikings for practice on Monday after his completed physical exam consummated the deal. He smiled as he spoke afterward about the whirlwind he'd experienced as the final week of the preseason began, when the Giants pulled him off the field during drills on Sunday. Then the Vikings called him to arrange his travel."I was pretty surprised," Jones said, "and excited at the same time."As a youth on the Saskatchewan prairie, Jones rooted for the Vikings long before playing for them became a reality."There's a lot of purple up there," he said. "Growing up New York Giants Hats , this was probably the closest stadium we could get to."As an 18-year-old, Jones even bought a Phil Loadholt jersey to wear his devotion after the Vikings drafted him in the second round out of Oklahoma in 2009. He traveled south to watch a game that season against the Cincinnati Bengals at the now-demolished Metrodome."I just liked offensive linemen, and I didn't think anybody else would have that jersey so I picked that one," Jones said. After attending Regina University, Jones was the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman award winner in 2014, his second year with the Calgary Stampeders. The Giants signed him in 2015, and he made his first NFL start at left guard in 2016. The 6-foot-2, 312-pound Jones started 13 games last season at center, but he fell behind Jon Halapio on the depth chart in training camp this summer and carried a $2.914 million salary the tight-against-the-cap Giants had to shed. The Vikings have scouted the CFL thoroughly over the past few years. Wide receiver Brandon Zylstra is a fellow CFL alum in training camp."It was a unique path. It was the only option I had," Jones said. "Coming out of college I was short, and I'm still short today, so it was tough for me. I had to prove that I could play by playing in the CFL, and then when I got to the NFL I had to prove I belong here. I've just been doing that each and every day."With center Pat Elflein still not back at practice following offseason ankle and shoulder surgeries and left guard Nick Easton likely out for the year with a neck injury, Jones was a welcomed addition. Joe Berger retired after starting at right guard last season."On tape he's pretty good. He's stout, strong, really gritty, good in pass protection, solid on the double teams," coach Mike Zimmer said.

Tennessee. Now they must figure out a way to fix these problems Cheap Will Hernandez Jersey , so they don't fall into a 0-3 hole when they meet the New York Giants on Sunday."That's probably the biggest thing," coach Bill O'Brien said. "We have to eliminate those things. We have to coach it better, we've got to practice better. That's probably the biggest thing that we can need to improve on, that we have too many mistakes in all three phases."Houston had 11 penalties for 88 yards in Sunday's 20-17 defeat against the Titans. There were false starts, a clipping penalty and Jadeveon Clowney, who was inactive with an elbow injury, incurred one from the sideline for taunting. It's rather rare for a player not involved in the game to get a penalty. O'Brien said he didn't have many details on what happened, but that he wasn't surprised that the call was made."The taunting rule is a big emphasis ... that's a good crew," he said. "Pete Morelli does a good job. They saw it, they called it."Clowney declined comment when asked about it in the locker room on Monday. While the penalties were certainly a problem for Houston on Sunday, there were plenty of other issues that kept the team out of the win column. A big problem for Houston this season has been pass protection. While their revamped offensive line has been so good in run blocking that the team leads the NFL in yards rushing, the group hasn't been nearly as successful in protecting Deshaun Watson.Watson has been sacked seven times this season and hit or hurried numerous other times. O'Brien takes some of the blame for the trouble in pass protection and is working to find a solution."In the end Cheap Eli Manning Jersey , I have to call better plays in certain situations," he said. "Got to do a better job of getting them in the right situation to help them execute better ... I think I can help it with certain play calls moving forward."Even with all their problems on Sunday the Texans still had a chance to send it to overtime. But Watson took so long to connect with DeAndre Hopkins on a 31-yard throw that the clock ran out before Houston had a chance to kick a field goal. O'Brien also took the blame for that gaffe on Monday, saying that he should have called a better play in that situation.Sunday's loss came after the Texans lost to New England 27-20 in the opener.Despite all the difficulties O'Brien insists that they're not panicking, and they remain positive that they can turn things around."We haven't played well but we've been in it in the end and we've got to finish these games better," he said. "We realize we have to do a lot better. We have to play more consistently."Veteran cornerback Johnathan Joseph said in situations such as this, things can begin to snowball, but that it's up to him and the other experienced players to help the team get on track."I wouldn't say us as a team, but you hear a lot of hype coming out of the preseason and things like that and then you have one or two games where it doesn't fall in your favor, sometimes it crumbles a little bit," he said. "But we're definitely standing tall in this locker room and we're moving on to next week.Giants are heavy underdogs on the road against Panthers in Week 5 The New York Giants have one win in four games and rank 29th in the league in points scored, with 73, and now they head on the road to take on the 2-1 Carolina Panthers http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-riley-dixon-jersey , who are coming off of their bye week. There’s no wonder why oddsmakers have the Giants as significant underdogs for Week 5. The Panthers opened as seven-point favorites. As of Tuesday, Bovada.lv remains at Giants minus-seven, while 5dimes.eu has the Giants at -7.5. Carolina has a 2-1 record coming out of the bye, with 71 total points scored despite playing one fewer game than the Giants. Their only loss is in their NFC South division, against the high-scoring Atlanta Falcons, while their wins are fairly high-quality, first besting the Dallas Cowboys in their home opener and then adding another home-field win over the now 3-1 Cincinnati Bengals. Meanwhile, the Giants have already suffered a loss to the Cowboys and in Week 4 managed just 18 points at home against the generally generous New Orleans Saints. The additional trouble comes from the Panthers offense. Carolina is tops in the league in rushing yardage, while the Giants rank 29th in rushing yardage allowed. The disparity is set in further relief when realizing that the Giants are finding themselves in serious points deficits early in games. Should that happen again on Sunday, there’s no doubting that Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey will take to the ground often to both maintain and extend the lead. The matchup doesn’t bode well for the Giants either on offense, based on what we’ve seen over the previous four weeks. While Eli Manning has a strong, 74.2 completion percentage Cheap Sterling Shepard Jersey , it has only resulted in four touchdown passes thrown; he’s also taken 15 sacks. There’s no lack of receiving talent for him, with Odell Beckham, Jr., Sterling Shepard and Saquon Barkley his top targets. But Beckham has only caught 68.9 percent of the passes thrown his way this year (something that was an issue a season ago prior to his ankle injury and again in 2016). While Beckham doesn’t have Josh Norman to deal with, the addition of safety Eric Reid will certainly help out Carolina’s secondary and their ability to defend the Giants wideout. And Barkley isn’t generating much as a running back thanks to a low volume of carries, itself a result of the Giants constantly having to play catchup via the pass. The Giants will need to feed Barkley early in order to gain traction against the Panthers. However, if New York’s defense puts the team behind quickly we’ve already seen that Pat Shurmur is more than willing to pull back on the rushing attempts. While he’s admitted that might not be the best approach, it’s also hard to imagine a 180 in scheme and philosophy in such short order. The Giants have thus frequently become one-dimensional, and the way the Panthers match up to them on Sunday points to this again being the case. There’s no wonder why the Panthers are so heavily favored to enter the week; the 2018 Giants, as we know them, don’t deserve the odds on their side.

Survivor http://www.authenticssanfrancisco49ers.com/cheap-laken-tomlinson-jersey , straight up picks for Week 2 NFL action The NFL returns on Thursday evening with an NFC North matchup to kickoff Week 2. The Cincinnati Bengals host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football, in a matchup of two quarterbacks (Andy Dalton, Joe Flacco) that are, well, questionable at best. It’s time once again for our pick ‘em and Survivor pool contest options. We have the weekly prediction contest this season, and you can make those picks here. We also have a traditional “Pick ‘Em” contest. If you still want to join, the group name is Niners Nation, the group ID is 45734, and the password is go49ers. We also have a Survivor Pool http://www.authenticssanfrancisco49ers.com/cheap-george-kittle-jersey , but I don’t think you can join that after Week 1. You can double-check at that link. The group name and password are the same as for the pick ‘em contest. The group ID is 32471.Last week I took the Baltimore Ravens in my money Survivor pool. A lot of people took the New Orleans Saints and were knocked off by that one. This week, I have a feeling some folks are going to take our 49ers at home against the Lions. The 49ers can win this game, but with various injuries and question marks, I’m not sure I’m comfortable taking them in Survivor. I’m leaning towards either Washington at home against Indianapolis or Denver at home against Oakland.Tonight, Week 2 opens with the Bengals and Ravens squaring off for early AFC North supremacy. The line is hovering around pick ‘em, with some sportsbooks going Ravens -1, and some going Bengals -1. Both teams won last week, but I think the Ravens are a little over-inflated by their beatdown of a bad Bills team. This is going to be a close game, but I think the Bengals are going to get the victory and cover. Here are the rest of my straight-up picks. I was 10-5-1 last week. I’ll have my picks against the spread later this weekend.Bengals @ Ravens: BengalsPanthers @ Falcons: FalconsChargers @ Bills: ChargersVikings @ Packers: PackersTexans @ Titans: TitansBrowns @ Saints: SaintsDolphins @ Jets: JetsChiefs @ Steelers: SteelersEagles @ Buccaneers: EaglesColts @ Washington: WashingtonCardinals @ Rams: RamsLions @ 49ers: 49ersRaiders @ Broncos: BroncosPatriots @ Jaguars: JaguarsGiants @ Cowboys: GiantsSeahawks @ Bears: BearsGolden Nuggets: Onto Week 2 Got some links to give you after this awful week White Adrian Colbert Jersey , made exponentially worse thanks to the Raiders realizing they were the Raiders and letting the Rams win. But first, I just want to touch on the point I made last night. In 2015, the 49ers faced the Minnesota Vikings to open the season. It was Jim Tomsula’s first game and the 49ers were somewhat of a question mark. What followed was some of the worst football I’ve ever witnessed, but the 49ers came out somewhat dominant in the end. Sure, they had issues, but it seemed like they could be a fun team to watch once they stopped looking sloppy. The 49ers ended up going 5-11 and there was nothing fun about that season. Nothing. The Vikings, meanwhile managed to win the NFC North, achieve a playoff birth, and would have won their playoff game if not for Blair Walsh missing a last second 27-yard field goal (that ‘ole Seahawk luck came in at the right time). Here’s the point: Both teams went in completely different directions. Now Youth Weston Richburg Jersey , the 2018 Vikings are not the 2015 Vikings and I tend to think the 49ers would have gotten punked pretty hard had that 2015 team played the 2018 Vikings. Despite the loss, the Vikings’ season didn’t end—and if the 49ers could beat them that night, you wouldn’t be wrong to think the Vikings weren’t winning anything that year. The 49ers get the Lions, and this is a much better way to gauge how the team will play. The Vikings was good experience. Hopefully they can mimic the 2015 team and get themselves a playoff birth. his first home start in Kansas City Youth Mike Person Jersey , the fans had better not blink when he has the ball in his hands. Mahomes has one of the strongest arms the NFL ever has seen, and he has displayed it throughout the first two weeks of the regular season.“I know when I am amped up, I throw it pretty hard sometimes, but luckily I have guys that can catch it,” Mahomes told reporters this week. “There is so much difference of having arm ability. You have to be able to throw it hard, you have to be able to throw it with touch. You have to be able to do everything in this league and I try to get better at every single one of those throws every single day.鈥滺e said his hardest throw ever came two weeks ago, against the Chargers.“I have probably thrown it as hard as I can a couple times,” Mahomes said. “Whenever there are those tight windows, I let it go. I think the ball to Sammy [Watkins] the first week against the Chargers was probably the hardest I have ever thrown it. It was rifled in there.鈥滺e’s been rifling it all his life. As he explained last month during a visit with PFT Live, Mahomes forced a very specific change in the rules of T-ball when he a six-year-old shortstop. After breaking the glasses of a teammate with a rocket to first base, Mahomes moving forward was instructed to roll the ball instead.Return of the Elegant Tank? Last year, when the San Francisco 49ers set a record for consecutive close losses, we had a lot of fun talking about the “elegant tank” strategy. Now, after two close losses to not-great teams, guess who’s back?(Spoiler: it’s not Shady.)No one’s suggesting that Kyle Shanahan ordered up five turnovers to improve draft position (I hope). But with the team’s franchise quarterback and top running back out with ACL tears, it’s also clear that the playoffs are not a realistic goal Youth Dante Pettis Jersey , not with the Rams in the division and teams like the Eagles and Panthers competing for that wild card slot.Is it time for the Niners to write off this year and play for the future? Yeah, pretty much.I don’t think a team should ever try to lose a game. Ever. Not only is it an awful thing to do to fans, but losing is a habit you don’t want to develop. Last year’s team had it right — work out a lot of new plays and players early, then close strong with five straight wins. Picking up Jimmy Garoppolo in a trade had a lot to do with that — just as losing him to injury was a key to these last two losses.Something roughly like that would be perfect for the rest of this year. Not throwing games, but working out a bunch of young players, and new plays, stunts and coverages without fear that it will lead to a loss. By December, hopefully, you’ve found enough things that work to start winning some games, without losing a high draft pick. The Niners need a great edge rusher, like Nick Bosa or Clellin Ferrell, and that will require a top ten pick. Filling that need will help this team push for a future Super Bowl a lot more than edging out Arizona for 3rd place in the NFC West would.Let’s face it — a lot of us got too hyped about the Niners this year, after closing on that five game run. We were sort of joking about Jimmy G being undefeated forever, but not 100% joking. We took for granted that young talent like Ahkello Witherspoon and Adrian Colbert were locked in as guaranteed 10 year starters, when the reality was (and is) that they are overachieving 2nd or 3rd level prospects, who were always going to have rough days on the path to holding down their positions. They may be great http://www.authenticssanfrancisco49ers.com/cheap-laken-tomlinson-jersey , they may not, but I know I’m not the only one who took their success for granted.Every team has to balance building the future against winning today. Unless you’re the 2016 Denver Broncos, with a Hall of Fame quarterback in his last year and a solid core, you don’t burn all your bridges to win today. You don’t trade draft picks for veterans, burn up future salary cap with backloaded deals, and rely on free agents.Good franchises know how to time the cycle of rebuilding vs. winning now. You carefully build the team until you’ve created a Super Bowl window, then burn through everything you’ve saved up to win NOW. When the window closes, burn it down, trade your stars for draft picks and develop young talent — knowing you’ll lose and get good picks.A lot of us thought this team was further along in the cycle than it was, but this is a horribly depleted roster with a new management team and a very complicated scheme that takes time to learn and master. San Francisco was never going to be a deep playoff threat this year, and even next year is probably unrealistic too. Hopefully, John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan were clear-eyed about that all along. For everyone who wasn’t, the injuries have been awfully clarifying. Bring on the tank!

Joe Staley questionable Youth Adrian Colbert Jersey , Dante Pettis out this week The San Francisco 49ers dodged some significant injury bullets Sunday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Monday that Joe Staley is questionable this week with his knee injury, while Dante Pettis is out and will be week-to-week after that. It’s not ideal, but it could have been a lot worse.Shanahan offered some additional updates on the injury report. Right tackle Mike McGlinchey, center Weston Richburg, and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin are also listed as questionable. Richard Sherman is probably out this week, but they’ll see how he responds to treatment. One bit of good news is that the team expects Jaquiski Tartt back from his shoulder injury. The 49ers might get Adrian Colbert back in the starting lineup, but Shanahan wants to wait and see what the week shows. Colbert was healthy enough to play special teams last week, but Shanahan said he did not get enough defensive practice reps due to his hip injury http://www.49erscheapstore.com/joe-staley-jersey-cheap , and so they went with D.J. Reed. Shanahan seemed to suggest Reed could still stake a claim to the job, but he said Colbert could get back into that role this week. The return of Tartt is an interesting one just given how well Antone Exum played in Week 4. He had some mistakes, but he opened the game with a pick-six and had some big plays on the ball throughout the game. The 49ers might find themselves with some really solid depth at strong safety after concerns when Tartt went down. The 49ers have been snake bit with injuries and it seems like every week it’s a new set of situations to deal with. This week it isn’t near as bad as it could have been. Dante Pettis being out for the season would hurt his promising development as a rookie and losing Joe Staley would be something on the level of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Instead, the 49ers will potentially get back Staley this week, and Pettis will get some time to get his knee right.Kyle Juszczyk remains the third quarterback The San Francisco 49ers had to reshuffle the quarterback position after starter Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a season-ending knee injury. C.J. Beathard is now the starter going into Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and Nick Mullens serves as his backup. But there’s always Plan C if either of those don’t work. Per Matt Maiocco, Kyle Juszczyk remains the third quarterback in emergencies. The 49ers haven’t carried a true third quarterback the past two seasons due to roster constraints, and Juszczyk has been the guy to serve in a pinch. What could happen if he’s called in? Well here’s what he told Maiocco: Part of me wants the 49ers to do well and get out of Los Angeles with little issues as possible so we can fully gauge what they have going forward. But the other http://www.the49ersfootballauthentic.com/k_waun-williams-jersey-authentic , and more chaotic side of me says, “Nooooooooooo! Forget all of that! Let’s put Juszczyk in there and watch that circus.” The only way anyone is going to see Juszczyk is if both Beathard and Mullens are knocked out of the game. At that point, it’s mostly a formality where the 49ers would be focusing less on winning and more on trying to escape Los Angeles with what little they have left. As interesting as a Juszczyk game could be seeing him behind center, he just won’t match up to the game where the New York Jets had to put their punter in—and the punter actually did quite well. He still managed to realize he was the punter and cough up the game, but he made it one of the better games that weekend. Offensive weapon indeed.

DALLAS — Even though the San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars haven’t been Pacific Division bunkmates since the 2012-2013 season Max Pacioretty Jersey Womens , their rivalry, which will be renewed Friday at American Airlines Center, remains a healthy one.On Nov. 8, Dallas (15-10-3, 33 points) hosted San Jose and edged the Sharks 4-3.This time around, the Stars are coming off a 4-1 win at home against Edmonton and former Dallas coach Ken Hitchcock on Monday and are 9-3-2 on home ice.Article continues below ...“We’re going to have a good effort tomorrow night (Friday) just because we’re rested up,” Stars first-year coach Jim Montgomery said after practice Thursday. “You could tell in practice today (Thursday) that we had a lot of jump.”Dallas, which has won three straight games, also figures to get a nice boost from the season debut of veteran forward Martin Hanzal, who has been sidelined since March after having spinal fusion surgery.“I expect him to help us right away,” Montgomery said of Hanzal. “Do I expect him to be crisp and sharp? No, he’s got to get into it. The more he gets into a rhythm here, the better we’re going to be as a hockey team.”The Stars have had the rare benefit of several good practice days since their last game at the beginning of the week. And Montgomery was pleased with what he saw from his team in practice on Thursday morning.“Today (Thursday) Nic Dowd Jersey Womens , we were working on some puck possession and timing and spacing, offensive zone and neutral zone,” Montgomery said. “That was the focus.”Ben Bishop will start in goal for Dallas.San Jose (14-10-5, 33 points) defeated Carolina 5-1 on Wednesday at SAP Center, a nice bounce-back performance after the Sharks went 1-4-0 on a five-game road trip and were outscored 21-9.“Yeah, it was a good game,” San Jose coach Peter DeBoer said postgame. “I was a little worried about our energy the first game back, but we got off to a quick start, got that first goal, which was huge. We had some bounces tonight, which we haven’t gotten a lot of lately and (Martin Jones) was great (in goal). It wasn’t a textbook game, but there was a lot of good stuff.”The Sharks, who have now won two straight and are 5-7-3 on the road Authentic Pat Tillman Jersey , were buoyed by the return of forward Timo Meier, out the previous three games with an upper-body injury.Meier had a goal and two assists in the victory.“Yeah, it felt great (to be back),” Meier said. “It was important to get healthy. I was obviously real excited to be playing again. I had a lot of energy today (Wednesday) and think we played a great game overall.”Sharks franchise icon Joe Thornton added three assists, giving him 1,038 for his career. GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Max Domi had been a cornerstone of the Arizona Coyotes‘ rebuilding project in the desert. He was young, feisty, skilled and had a great hockey pedigree. Now the Coyotes have a new, young cornerstone who also happens to fill a need at center after trading Domi to the Montreal Canadiens for Alex Galchenyuk on Friday night.”Sometimes in this league you have to give to get,” Coyotes general manager John Chayka said on a conference call. ”Max is a very talented young player in his own right Pat Tillman Jersey Limited , but hopefully this works out where it will be a fit for both sides.”The 23-year-old Domi was targeted to be part of a youthful new foundation for the struggling Coyotes when they selected him with the 12th overall pick in 2013. The son of former NHL tough guy Tie Domi, Max scored 18 goals and had 34 assists as a rookie in 2015-16, but his goal production has dipped the past two seasons. He had nine goals and 29 assists in an injury-plagued 2016-17 season, and nine goals with 36 assists last season. The 24-year-old Galchenyuk has been a steady scorer since Montreal selected him third overall in 2012. He has eclipsed 20 goals twice, including a career-high 30 in 2015-16. Galchenyuk had 19 goals and 32 assists last season.”It gives us optionality, gives us some depth there, versatility,” Chayka said. ”You get a guy who has been very productive and has played in those premium positions, so that was an added bonus with this deal.”Galchenyuk signed a three-year $14.7-million contract in July 2017 that carries a salary cap hit of $4.9 million per season. Domi is coming off his entry-level contract and will need to sign a new deal.Galchenyuk was born in Milwaukee when his father, Alexander Galchenyuk, was playing for the Wisconsin city’s minor league team. The family returned to Europe when Alex was 4 years old.

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals open a five-game homestand Saturday night when they host the Dallas Stars at Capital One Arena. The Capitals (5-4-2) began a stretch of 15 games in 30 days with a 6-4 loss on Thursday night in Montreal http://www.avalancheshoponline.com/authentic-alexander-kerfoot-jersey , capping a 2-2 road trip.Dallas (7-5-0) is 2-1 on its six-game road trip after a 2-1 win on Thursday night in Toronto and is 4-1 in its last five games.Article continues below ...Anton Khudobin made 30 saves in his first start since Oct. 16, Jamie Benn and Devin Shore scored, and Tyler Seguin had two assists for the Stars.Shore has goals in back-to-back games and points in five of his last six games (2-6-8).“He’s just a smart hockey player,” Dallas coach Jim Montgomery told NHL.com. “I like the way he possesses pucks and the poise he has with the puck. He’s starting to get a lot of confidence and with that he’s skating harder and winning more one-on-one battles. He’s a guy that I’m going to continue to move around because I think he can get other players going.”After playing on the fourth earlier in the week against Montreal — and getting a goal and two assists — Shore played on the wing with Seguin and Mattias Janmar against Toronto.“He’s fun to play with,” Seguin said. “He’s making a lot of things happen. If it wasn’t for him in Montreal, we don’t win that game. He’s really coming into his own and maturing and playing good hockey.”On Friday, the Starts announced that defenseman Dillon Heatherington, 23, would be recalled from the Texas Stars with Connor Carrick heading to injured reserve. Carrick did not play against Toronto after blocking a shot in the team’s loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday afternoon. The Capitals appeared to have fashioned a great ending to their road trip before the Canadiens scored three goals in the final 3:04 Thursday night.“Obviously it’s frustrating in the situation,” goalie Braden Holtby told NHL.com. “I think we had a chance to steal one there and just came up short. Luck seemed to be on our side for most of the third, and then it turned.
