AUSTIN, Texas -- After bringing the big hits all day, the West Virginia defense still had to watch as the Texas desperation pass gently floated toward the end zone and then drifted too far. Wholesale Air Max China .Then came the celebration. Then the wait to see if the Mountaineers had too many players on the field and if Texas would get one last shot to win.Nope. Game over. West Virginias chase for its first Big 12 championship is still alive.Kennedy McKoy ran for two touchdowns and Mountaineers (8-1, 5-1, No. 16 CFP) earned a tough 24-20 Big 12 road win, setting up a showdown with league leader Oklahoma next week. The Mountaineers have not yet won a league title since joining the Big 12 in 2012 but are chasing one with rugged defense in a league spends most weekends breaking scoreboards. They wanted to get this win pretty bad, West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen said. Our goal has always been to win the Big 12 ... That defense was excellent.Skyler Howard passed for 269 yards and a touchdown for the Mountaineers. The defense gave up 536 yards but got four sacks, forced three turnovers and kept Texas running back DOnta Foreman, the Big 12s leading rusher, out of the end zone .One of those turnovers came on a big hit on Texas quarterback Shane Buechele by Kyzir White that forced a fourth-quarter fumble inside the West Virginia 25.Buechele passed for 318 yards and drove the Longhorns to final chance to win before his last pass fell incomplete. The Longhorns twice fought back from double-digit deficits before the final play.We kept taking our punches and kept coming back, Texas Charlie Strong said. Throw the Hail Mary and had the chance to win it.Foreman finished with 167 yards, his 11th consecutive 100-yard game, which tied former Heisman Trophy winner Earl Campbells Texas school record.THE TAKEAWAYWest Virginia: The Mountaineers came in with the Big 12s best defense and lived up to the billing. Most of Foremans yards came early and the Mountaineers pounded him and Buechele in the second half. The West Virginia offense had four turnovers, three by Howard, but the defense surrendered just seven points off those. Foreman also had an early fumble. They give (Foreman) the ball and ride him. We had to stop him and make others make plays. We did that, West Virginia linebacker Al-Rasheed Benton said.Texas: The pressure is back on Strong, who now has three consecutive five-loss seasons. Texas looked to be turning things around with big wins over Baylor and Texas Tech, but the numbers game is catching up to Strong, who is facing intense speculation that he could be fired. Texas is still trying to get bowl-eligible after not making one last season.I really dont worry about that, Strong said of his tenuous job status. I have a really good group of guys and I know they are going to play for me. Theyre going to battle. Theyre going to give everything theyve got.POLL IMPLICATIONSThe victory and impressive defense should keep West Virginia hovering around the top 10 . Keep winning at the Mountaineers can only move up.OPEN MICHolgorsen could be heard using profanity and telling game officials his players were tougher than Texas when an open microphone picked his argument over a reversed fumble. The Mountaineers led 17-3 and recovered a muffed punt return when officials determined they had interfered with the catch. The Longhorns seized on the momentum change by quickly marching to a touchdown in a 10-point rally that cut the lead to 17-13 by halftime.MISSING MALIKTexas linebacker Malik Jefferson, whose resurgent play the previous two weeks had been key to the Longhorns improved defense, left the game in early in the first quarter and did not return. Texas officials said he was being evaluated for a head injury. He had three tackles, including one for a loss, when he was taken out.UP NEXTWest Virginia: The Mountaineers return home next Saturday to host Big 12 leader Oklahoma in a game with huge implications for the league title.Texas: The Longhorns go on the road to Kansas next Saturday.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP-Top25 .---Previous versions of this story incorrectly spelled the name of Kennedy McKoy. CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Malcolm Hill made sure Illinois didnt blow another double-digit lead on Tuesday night in an 88-74 win over North Carolina State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The senior scored 22 points to lead an Illini team that bounced back following a 0-3 Thanksgiving week. When Illinois showed signs of faltering like it had in the past, Hill and other role players like Tracy Abrams (17 points) helped secure the win.Really proud of the way the guys responded, Illinois coach John Groce said. We ratcheted it up to another level (in the second half).Illinois (5-3) shot 30 of 60 from the field for 50 percent to outlast N.C. State in what was a tightly contested game in which neither team had a double-digit lead until the Illini led 67-57 with about eight minutes left. The Wolfpack held a 33-32 edge at the half but Illinois came out firing, shooting 68 percent in the second half and creating large leads that the Wolfpack could not overcome. The Illini bench outscored the Wolfpacks 39-22 and was led by Leron Black, who scored 15 points and brought in eight rebounds.Black has only played the last three games before Tuesday (suspension) and noted the adaptation it takes to understand how each player performs. We just kind of come together each game. COLUMBIA, S. Cheap Under Armour Shoes Mens .C. -- Will Muschamp isnt worried about what did or didnt happen at his only other head coaching stop. Everything the new coach does is all about South Carolina.I dont know that previous stops affect anything, said Muschamp, hired last December to revive Steve Spurriers once dominant program. Im excited to be here. Weve hired an outstanding staff and I really like the buy in and work ethic of our players.Muschamp probably doesnt want to spend too much time thinking about his four seasons at Florida from 2011-14. He led the Gators to an 11-2 mark and seemed headed to bigger things, like national champion Florida coaches Spurrier and Urban Meyer. Instead, the Gators imploded the next two years and Muschamp was let go before the 2014 season ended.A big reason things went awry was Muschamps reliance on a strong defense and a ground-first attack. This time around, Muschamp said hell let the Gamecocks strengths dictate their style. He wont force a round peg in a square hole or make a team light at running back grind things out when there are several fast, strong receivers around. Its not about what you know as a coach or what you scheme and what you think your players can do, its about what they can do, Muschamp said. I think thats something in camp, especially with some younger players on both sides of the ball, were going to have to make some decisions early on about what we can do.The decisions for Muschamp include quarterback, where former walk-on Perry Orth, who started eight games last season, and freshman Brandon McIlwain, duel for the job. Orth has experience, but McIlwain is a rising prospect who enrolled early to go through spring workouts.Muschamp is eager for that to play out as he prepares for the season. The goal really is on September first to be fresh, fast and physical, he said.---QB QUESTIONS: The Gamecocks were a mess at quarterback last year (three starters in the first four games) and things might not get much better. Last years starter after fall camp, Connor Mitch, transferred after getting hurt. Perry Orth started six games, but was inconsistent. Look for freshmen Brandon McIlwain or Jake Bentley to get long looks. McIlwain is a two-sport star (he was considered a high-round MLB draft prospect) with a strong arm and solid grasp of the offense. Bentley had an offer from Alabama, but chose to follow his father, South Carolina running backs coach Bobby Bentley. Lorenzo Nunez will work mostly at receiver, but Muschamp says will have a hand in the quarterback race.WHERES SPURRIER? South Carolina fans accustomed to Steve Spurrier might have to wait until a November trip to The Swamp to see their former coach. Spurrier stunned fans last October when he quit in midseason, then shocked them again last month when he gave up his $100,000 school ambassadors job for a similar role with his alma mater, Florida. Spurrier said he just wanted to go back to Gainesville.KEY GAMES: It starts in a hurry with road games at Vanderbilt and Mississippi State the first two weeks. Start 0-2 and watch fans paint Muschamp as unprepared and inadequate.SEASON OPENER: South Carolina has won seven straight over Vanderbilt, but has lost its past five SEC road games. If the Commodores show up with an improved defense, the Gamecocks untested attack could get stuck in the mud.PREDICTION: South Carolina wont be favored against any of its nine Power Five opponents and a second-straight three-win season seems likely.---College football website: collegefootball.ap.org Under Armour Basketball Shoes Womens . LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville overpowered Lafayette early, allowing the fifth-ranked Cardinals to do some fine-tuning.Sam Fuehring scored 13 points to help No. 5 Louisville cruise to a 92-48 victory over Lafayette on Sunday in the second day of the Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge. The Cardinals (5-0) scored the first 14 points and led 20 in the first quarter. The Leopards (1-4) missed eight of their first nine shots and committed nine turnovers in the first 10 minutes. All 13 healthy Cardinals got on the court and either had a point or an assist. It doesnt matter who we give the ball to, junior Mariya Moore said. Anyone on our team can score.Fuehring was perfect from the floor on six shots to finish a point off her career high of 14. She is seeing more time this season as Cortnee Walton, a starter and the teams second-leading rebounder last season, has been sidelined because of a right arm injury. Fuehring said coach Jeff Walz has asked her to step into the seniors role as a rebounder and defender for the time being.Of course getting minutes is what I want, but Im trying to really work on my defense and just know its not all about scoring, the 6-foot-3 forward said. Its part of Walz effort to make his players more coachable and not just seek out scoring opportunities. The ones who do what he asks them to do, he said, will be in line for more playing time. Then, if youre in the game, you got a chance to score, Walz said. Thats something new that a few of them dont understand. On the bench, its hard to score.Asia Durr added 13 for Louisville, which also got 12 from Moore and 11 from Briahanna Jackson. Forward Myisha Hines-Allen added 14 rebounds annd a team-high five assists. Under Armour Womens Shoes Sale. Lafayette shot just 21.2 percent in the first half, and the Leopards were outrebounded by Louisville 62-28.Olivia Gumbs and Ashley Lutz both led Lafayette with nine points. The Leopards starters combined to score just 11 points total.BIG PICTURELouisville: This was the kind of game where Louisville coach Jeff Walz envisioned getting significant playing time for his freshmen and reserves, and as the Cardinals extended the lead to 46 by the third period, he could do just that. Only one starter, Durr, played more than 20 minutesLafayette: Sunday marked the fourth straight double-digit loss for the Leopards. In each of those games they trailed by at least 20 points at some point in the contest.STAT OF THE NIGHTWhen Louisville held Lafayette to just seven points in the first quarter, it marked the fourth time already this season that the Cardinals have held an opponent to less than 10 points in a quarter. For the third time, it took place in the opening period.LETDOWNWhile Louisville dominated, Walz still saw room for improvement. For example, while the Cardinals grabbed 28 offensive rebounds, they only turned those into 26 points. He said he wants his team to average about 1.5 points per offensive board.POLL IMPLICATIONSLouisville did exactly what it was supposed to do against an overmatched opponent and did nothing that would shake voters confidence in the teams current ranking.UP NEXTLouisville hosts Chattanooga Monday night.Lafayette plays Bowling Green on Monday in Louisville. CHAMPAIGN, Ill. Nike Air Vapormax Mens . -- Malcolm Hill made sure Illinois didnt step off the gas pedal Friday night so that the Illini could took care of business against Detroit Mercy, 89-69.The senior, who scored 25 points, led his team to a quick start after the intermission, when his team was up 39-30 and it seemed like the Titans would close the gap even more.Im always in an aggressive attack more, but this was one of those games where I needed to start strong in the second half, Hill said.Illinois (4-0) continued its strong start to the season in the opening game of the NIT Season Tip-Off tournament. The Illini had little trouble scoring, shooting 27of 52 from the field and 8 of 19 from 3-point range. Friday marked the second straight game the Illini had difficulty shooting from the free throw line however, finishing 27of 38.Tracy Abrams continued to have a strong return to basketball, scoring 15 points and finishing with four rebounds, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range.Groce knows the importance a balanced offense can have on his team.If you can have a balance of paint touches with that outside shooting, it puts opponents in dilemmas, Groce said.Detroit Mercy (1-2) had trouble keeping up with Illinois fast offensive pace from the start of the game. The Titans never led.Josh McFolley and Jaleel Hogan both led the way with 16 points for a team that finished shooting 43 percent from the field and 24 percent from beyond the arc.The Titans fell behind in most categories against the Illini, but Detroit Mercy head coach Bacari Alexander felt Illinois won the game down in the post, where the Illini won the rebound battle 39-29.They took advantage of those opportunities (in the post), Alexander said. (But) I like the direction this team is going in.BIG PICTUREIllinois: The Illini have played as they should against the type of opponents theyve faced so far this year. The team has one game left against relatively easy competition before facing No. 19 West Virginia at the Barclays Center in New York.Detroit Mercy: Although the game was never really close after the first few minutes, the Titans found some scoring opportunities and will need to continue to do that in the rest of the tournament.ROLE PLAYERGroce thought bench player D.J. T. Cheap Air Max 2018 China .J. Perkins?was certainly not given the easiest road to connect with fans as a pure good guy in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. After dispatching Da Mack in a brief but enjoyable match, Perkins had to square off with three of the most popular guys in the tournament field on his way to the finals. Each of those three curried great favor with the crowd at Full Sail University, and going up against that trio of wrestlers in particular presented unique challenges for Perkins. It wasnt perfect, as the crowd struggled at times to fully support both competitors in each round, but through the quality of his matches and the different stories Perkins managed to tell in the ring, he won the fans over by the time he squared off with Gran Metalik in the finals. That persistence is exactly the kind of thing you get from the man known as TJP -- nose to the grindstone and pushing toward his goals, no matter the obstacle. With that mentality, it has been easier for Perkins than it is for most to not get overwhelmed by a big moment such as?winning the inaugural CWC,?and that should serve him well as he appears on Monday Night Raw on a weekly basis.I try to stay in the moment, Perkins said in an interview shortly after his CWC win. At the Cruiserweight Classic finale, I said ... I dont know if people had looked it up, or if they had heard it before, but it was an old Zen proverb. Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, you chop wood, carry water. It can be interpreted a lot of ways, but for the most part its about staying in the moment. The Zen mindset that helped Perkins survive homelessness and motivate himself despite great obstacles would have served his fans well the past couple weeks. Despite his victory in the CWC and owning the new WWE cruiserweight championship, Perkins didnt appear on Raw as the cruiserweight division debuted last week. He appeared on the pre-show, along with a backstage, web-only video with new No. 1 contender Brian Kendrick, but we had to wait an additional six days to see his main roster debut at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view.That wait paid off, as Perkins showed off a brand new 8-bit video game-inspired entrance theme and video presentation prior to his match Sunday. That helped drive home how big of a deal his debut really was.Perkins was still very much in the moment, and his one-day-at-a-time demeanor helped him showcase, along with Kendrick, why the cruiserweights are able to have matches that dont feel out of place on a pay-per-view -- by taking each opportunity as it comes and doing the most with it.Things will come and go, and your life will go on, but you dont want to get too ahead of yourself, Perkins said. I used that as a way to view each round of the Cruiserweight Classic so I didnt get ahead of myself and stayed in the moment. I see it the same way, in terms of the opportunity to go to Monday Night Raw. Ill take each moment as it comes, and Ill wait for the bridge before I have to cross it.Thats not to say Perkins is taking this chance for granted, though. Its really exciting to be able to represent the cruiserweights and go to Monday Night Raw. I grew up watching Monday Night Raw, and its really a big dream of mine to perform on that stage, Perkins said. The talent there is so incredible. Im in good company, and Im excited for it.WWE is happy to point to Perkins experience, with 18 years in the ring and countless big matches. But when determining value within the company and with the fans, it comes down to the same baseline (with certain and expanding exceptions in the modern era): If it didnt happen here, it didnt happen, as Jerry The King Lawler so eloquently put it during Sunday nights broadcast.Thats part of why the CWC was such a big deal for Perkins and the other 31 competitors.I think this is the biggest spectacle weve ever had, in regards to representing cruiserweights, Perkins said. I was so thrilled with how everything came about and to be part of it.Despite it being the first tournament of its kind in WWE history, bringing in 32 talents who werent (to that point) under contract to square off on WWE airwaves, the tournament format is nothing new to wrestling or the WWE. There have been dozens of tournaments to determine champions and contenders over the years, to say nothing of the spectacle that was King of the Ring.In the modern era, tournaments of note have largely migrated to independent wrestling organizations, which is part of the reason the CWC was significant. Hardcore wrestling fans will know about events such as Pro Wrestling Guerillas Battle of Los Angeles, and New Japan Pro Wrestling has large chunks of its calendar set aside for a number of tournaments of note. Its insane because so much of what I do has been based off of my heroes and guys that I watched come up, and most of them started as cruiserweights, Perkins said. When they were doing similar things to this, thats what kind of inspired me to do [what I do].I grew up watching Super J-Cup tournaments and things like that, and those were pretty cool, he continued, referencing one of NJPWs most prominent, if infrequent, events. They had a mystique about them, but they were few and far between. That added to their mystique. The CWC had a lot of history come before it, but the unique circumstances in which it was set up and the rarity of tournaments in WWE prior to the launch added a level of curiosity and value to the competition and to the wrestlers who will make up Raws new cruiserweight division.En route to his victory, Perkins experienced positivity that balanced the occasional struggle to connect with the fans as a good guy. In his second-round match with Johnny Gargano and in his third-round match with Rich Swann, Perkins was across the ring from guys who were not only his friends but also guys he had faced numerous times before.Youre in there with guys youre friends with, and theres a certain camaraderie about being able to be in the ring in front of so many people, Perkins said. Sometimes, youre literally saying to the other guy, Do you remember in that beer hall not that long ago? This is pretty ridiculous, to be on a different stage. There is a certain drawback to that familiarity, however, and thats the possibility of complacency and repeating what they have done in the past. Perkins, Gargano and Swann, in particular, seemed up for the task.Youd think itd be kind of tough because you know each other so well, and some of the old tricks dont apply when thats the case, Perkins said. I think it makes the chess game of performing more interesting because now you have different things at your disposal [with this kind of setting] that you wouldnt otherwise be using, and so, as a performer, you look forward to those types of things.Wrestling fans might not always consider how much work goes into a match such as that, whether the opponent is familiar or a new challenge. For Perkins, there isnt much time to linger on a match, no matter how much positive reaction might come of it. To continue to perform at that level requires work that goes far beyond staying in peak physical condition and perfecting a move set.Yeah, Im a nerd, man, Perkins said. Im such a workaholic and really an intense student of all this, so even now, at this stage, I relentlessly try to watch footage and replay things. I still bring my notebook everywhere, and I fill it with what probably looks like nonsense if you were to read it back. Im constantly watching and reviewing stuff.Being a student of the game makes you acutely aware of a big moment when you see it. When you find yourself inside that kind of big moment, as Perkins did just before the start of the CWC final, it brings to the surface a number of thoughts and feelings. That was beyond words how crazy that was, Perkins said of?Triple Hs reveal of the new cruiserweight championship. You could kind of tell, I dont know how the sound translated on the broadcast, but the building was literally shaking, and people were going nuts. Ive never seen people go so nuts for a little bit of hardware, but its a pretty prestigious thing. The final match between Perkins and Metalik had a buzz and energy to it from the very beginning, thanks in part to that introduction, but also because of the 30 matches that culminated in that moment and the meaning they had to competitors and fans alike. From the moment the bell rang at the end, all I could think about was everything I went through to get there, Perkins said. About collecting coins in the parking lot when I was homeless, being evicted, you know, all these different things, and I think it was at that moment with Triple H and Mr. Regal that it [felt real].Perkins found himself, in a rare moment, getting caught up in everything that came to his mind. Then I started thinking about all my heroes, and I just had flashbacks to when they finally got their moment, he said. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 12, Eddie Guerrero over Brock Lesnar when he won the title. I think about what I saw in them -- I was enamored with their emotion and how they must have felt. I sort of was beside myself a little bit while I was reviewing those in my head and thinking, Wow, somebodys watching me like that right now. A lot of people were.Rather than becoming overwhelmed by what he had achieved or settling for this as a career highlight, Perkins thought equally about his past and his memories. He knew what kind of effect watching events such as the CWC had on him while he was growing up, and its equally interesting to considering what effect this tournament could have on the next generation.Theres probably some kid out there thats going to come to the Performance Center someday, Perkins said. Or enroll in some wrestling training and get started on the regional level, and theyre going to look at this [tournament] and say, Thats why I wanted to do it. Its really incredibly humbling to be honest.Despite the flashiness of his new entrance or the swagger often on display in the ring, its hard to not notice how appreciative Perkins is of this opportunity -- both when watching him on screen and when talking to him away from the bright lights. That is made clear in the way he carries himself.Someone had said to me before I was going out for the finals, they said, You dont look nervous at all. And I dont get nervous over things, Perkins said. The thing is, being homeless makes you nervous. Struggling like that, that hardship, that makes you nervous because you dont know if youre going to get over that. This? This is not hard. This is fun. Im in heaven now.Perkins hasnt had to worry about homelessness in a while, thanks to his work before he joined the WWE full time, and especially since that point. His ability to put the pressures and stresses of performing every week for millions of people into perspective by considering his past and the alternative of where things were and where they could have gone has served him well. It has also helped him to stay the same person who became such an appealing target for WWE to sign, the same person who has been pegged to anchor the new WWE cruiserweight division. At the end of the day, I come home and watch Netflix like everybody else, he said. Ill be a little bit more busy, but in a good way. Its a dream job, but its not going to be much of a change [to how I work]. Im just happy to be along for the ride. Black Air Max 2018 . EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Wholesale Authentic Jerseys . -- When Adrian Peterson was talking with his teammates about which quarterbacks the Minnesota Vikings could acquire, Sam Bradfords name wasnt on the list. One could also assume Bradford wasnt one of the suggestions Peterson texted to general manager Rick Spielman, simply because he didnt think his former University of Oklahoma teammate would be available.I didnt see that coming, Peterson said. We knew he was down in Philadelphia, and (we) didnt see that happening. I tip my hat to our GM, Rick Spielman. He did a great job of bringing a guy in that can contribute. The Vikings still havent said whether it will be Bradford or Shaun Hill starting for the team on Sunday in the regular-season opener against Tennessee, but after the Vikings sent a 2017 first-round pick and a conditional fourth-rounder to the Eagles for Bradford on Saturday, it isnt hard to surmise the quarterback will be on the field soon. Peterson found out the news while he was in Houston, watching his alma mater play the University of Houston on Saturday. When a reporter told him the Vikings had acquired Bradford, Peterson said his initial reaction was excitement.Theyre looking out for the best interests of this team, Peterson said. We have faith in Shaun and what hes able to bring, as well, but its always good to have another guy that can contribute and is talented. After the Vikings lost Teddy Bridgewater to a dislocated left knee and torn ACL Aug. 30, Peterson was one of several players to visit the quarterback in the hospital that night. After what the running back called an emotional roller coaster of a week, the Vikings attention turned to finding help at quarterback, which is when Peterson texted Spielman.Im always trying to be in the mix and give my opinion on guys I think you should bring in, Peterson said. He told me, Hey, were going to do whats best for the team. Thats the last thing you have to worry about. Im like, Alright, I know you guys are going to do that, based off what you guys have done here the last couple years, drafting guys and bringing guys in as well. I left it at that, and he proved to be telling the truth. The running back remembered Bradford as a quiet redshirt freshman who didnt say too much at the University of Oklahoma, but Bradfords arm strength quickly stood out to Peterson, to the point he was hoping Bradford would be the starting quarterback during the 2006 season (Petersons last with the Sooners). He looks young now, but he looked like a little kid then, Peterson said. I remember watching him and seeing him throw in practice, and I knew he was going to be good. I wish they could have put him out there for my last year to help us out a little bit. They didnt do it, but it worked out for him there at Oklahoma. He had a great career. The Vikings will use their 12th different starting quarterback in Petersons 10 years with the team on Sunday against the Titans, and Petersons presence figures to be a big part of the teams game plan as the Vikings break in their new quarterback. He had just 10 carries for 31 yards in the Vikings season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers last year, and looking back on it Thursday, Peterson recalled his conditioning wasnt as sharp as he needed it to be before the 2015 opener. He ran a series of sprints before the Vikings next game against the Detroit Lions, during which he carried 29 times for 134 yards and gained another 58 yards on two catches. This year, Peterson said, his conditioning is where he wants it to be -- and he offered what sounded like a slogan that played off his nickname.Thats the big difference going into this week, he said. My legs are fresh. Ive been making sure that Ive been getting my conditioning in. So Ill be ready to run all day. Despite everything that Serena Williams has won and done, her sense of self can still fluctuate based on the outcome of a particular match.Doesnt always seem to matter that she owns a record-tying 22 major singles titles heading into the U.S. Open, which begins Monday with a retractable roof at Arthur Ashe Stadium for the first time. Not necessarily a big deal to her that shes spent the past 3+ years entrenched at No. 1 and is the oldest woman ever to top the WTA rankings. And there are times when the 34-year-old American basically forgets that she transcends her sport and has become a cultural icon away from the tennis court.Williams is devastated when she is dealt a setback, such as last years Did that really happen?! loss to Roberta Vinci in the U.S. Open semifinals, ending an attention-grabbing, pressure-piling bid for the first calendar-year Grand Slam by anyone in more than a quarter-century. Williams acknowledges she measures herself constantly.Unfortunately, I definitely do, which I dont think is normal. I definitely feel like when I lose, I dont feel as good about myself, she said. But then I have to, like, remind myself that: `You are Serena Williams! You know? Like, `Are you kidding me? Williams continued, laughing and leaning forward. And its those moments that I have to just, like, come off and be like, `Serena, do you know what youve done? Who you are? What you continue to do, not only in tennis, (but also) off the court? Like, youre awesome. That really just shows the human side of me. Im not a robot. She is at the stage of her career where history is in the offing nearly every time a racket is in her right hand. So while the stakes are different from what they were at Flushing Meadows in 2015, Williams does have something significant to play for yet again. After equaling Steffi Graf for the most Grand Slam titles in the professional era (which dates to 1968) by winning Wimbledon last month, Williams now can break that tie by earning No. 23 in New York. Only Margaret Court owns more major singles trophies, with 24, but more than half of that total came against amateur competition. Not that Williams was immediately ready to think about topping Graf after pulling even with her at the All England Club. One thing I learned about last year is to enjoy the moment, Williams said. Im definiteely going to enjoy this. Wholesale NFL Gear. Good thing, too, because not everything has gone smoothly since that most recent triumph. Slowed by a bothersome right shoulder, Williams lost in the third round of singles and first round of doubles at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics -- she was a 2012 gold medalist in both events -- and then pulled out of a hard-court tuneup event in Ohio.Williams is assured of remaining at No. 1 until the end of the U.S. Open, which will bring her current streak to 186 weeks in a row, tying another mark held by Graf. Depending on what happens in the tournament, Williams could be overtaken in the rankings by No. 2 Angelique Kerber (who beat Williams in the Australian Open final in January), No. 3 Garbine Muguruza (who beat Williams in the French Open final in June) or No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska. Its definitely intriguing, Roger Federer said about tracking the women vying for No. 1. Its nice to see this race.Federer, who won five of his mens record 17 Grand Slam titles in New York, will be sitting out the U.S. Open for the first time since 1999 as he takes the rest of the season off to let his left knee heal. A year ago, Federer lost in the final at Flushing Meadows to Novak Djokovic. In Federers mind, the top-ranked Djokovic is the favorite this time, even though No. 2 Andy Murrays summer has been phenomenal. One reason: Federer thinks the installation of the new $150 million roof at the main arena will limit the wind even when its open, which will help Djokovic. Not too long ago, Djokovic appeared to be close to unbeatable no matter the surface or conditions, and a buzz was building about whether he could chase a true Grand Slam. But he exited Wimbledon in the third round, then the Olympics in the first round, while Murray won both of those titles.Novak, obviously, the last two years, really, has played amazing tennis. His consistency -- what Ive done for, like, the last four months, hes been doing for, like, the whole year, Murray said. Needing to fill a hole created by suspension, the Texas Rangers secured a deal for a veteran outfielder who should fit the bill. Nike Air Force 1 Womens . Numbers Game breaks down the Rangers deal for Alex Rios. The Rangers Get: RF Alex Rios. Rios, 32, is a veteran outfielder in the midst of a mediocre season, but hes capable of providing power and speed. Since the start of the 2010 season, Rios is one of six outfielders (B.J. Upton, Andrew McCutchen, Carlos Gonzalez, Ryan Braun and Matt Kemp are the others) to register at least 70 home runs and 70 stolen bases. His .755 OPS in that time ranks 59th among outfielders with at least 1000 plate appearances. This season, Rios isnt going deep as often as he has in previous years, hitting 12 home runs in 465 plate appearances, and his flyball rate (34.8%) is his lowest since 2005, when he was in his second major league season with the Toronto Blue Jays. While moving to Texas ought to help a hitters production, Rios has struggled to this point in his career at Rangers Ballpark, hitting one home run, with a .255 batting average and .643 OPS in 42 games (177 plate appearances); his lowest OPS at the 11 ballparks in which hes had at least 175 plate appearances. Not only is Rios durable, having played in at least 145 games for each of the last six season, but Rios is an above average defensive right fielder, so he is a more-than-capable replacement for suspended Rangers RF Nelson Cruz, who is also set to become a free agent at seasons end. Not only does Rios add immediate help at a position of need for the Rangers, but hes signed through next season, at the same $12.5-million salary that hes making in 2013, with a $13.5-million team option for 2015. While those salary numbers seem big, theyre pretty much standard for an above average outfielder in his free agent years. A four-game winning streak has the Rangers tied with Oakland for first place in the American League West, making it well worth it to push forward in their quest to win this year, with a move that should improve their outfield production at least through next season as well. The White Sox Get: A player to be named later, reportedly INF Leury Garcia, and $1-million. Garcia is a 22-year-old, diminutive infielder who has played second, third and shortstop this season, but he offers very little at the plate, hitting .192 with a .467 OPS in 25 games. He hasnt hit much in the minors, either, with a .264 average and .723 OPS at Triple-A this season, but he can run, stealing 43 bases on 54 attempts (79.6%) in 147 games between Double-A and Triple-A since the start of 2012. With that pedigree, Garcia is little more than a utility infielder for the White Sox, so the real benefit of trading Rios, aside from financial savings, is that it opens up a regular spot in right field for Avisail Garcia, the free-swinging power hitter acquired from Detroit in the three-way Jake Peavy trade made prior to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. Moving out Rios, their highest fWAR player (2.1) this season, naturally doesnt make the White Sox a better team, but it acknowledges their current situation. They need young players to get reps and its highly unlikely that the White Sox are going to be poised to contend for a playoff spot as soon as next season, or even the season after, making Rios little more than a roadblock for a prospect like Avisail Garcia. Current Italy coach Conte was officially confirmed as the Blues new permanent head coach on a three-year deal on Monday and will take up the reins following the conclusion of the 2016 European Championship in France this summer.Chelsea flirted with the relegation zone this season following a disastrous start to their Premier League title defence, before Guus Hiddink steadied the ship following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho in November. Chelsea appoint Conte Chelsea have confirmed Antonio Conte will become their new permanent head coach after Euro 2016... He is very keen on the European scene, Mr Abramovich, but they have to compete in the Premier League as well, Wilkins told Sky Sports News HQ. Its your bread and butter football, the Premier League, and thats the one we all want to win. Its all OK winning the Champions League, but they have to get back on a sure footing. Will Conte fit? So, it will be very interesting to see how he goes.Wilkins also believes Conte may look to keep Chelsea captain John Terry at the club next season. Terry is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and is yet to be offered a new deal to remain with Chelsea. John Terry is an exceptional player and he will be for the next couple of years, whether he is at Chelsea or elsewhere and I think Antonio will want to use his experience, picking his brains a touch as to what he is actually coming into, Wilkins added. As we do each Sunday, we recap the weeks winners and losers from a fantasy perspective, complete with applicable game and historical data. Air Max 97 Clearance . Check back after the conclusion of the 1 and 4 p.m. ET games (and, when applicable, Sunday Night Football) for our picks of the weeks best and worst.WinnersEzekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys: What a day! Elliotts 32-yard touchdown with nine seconds remaining didnt just give his Cowboys a comeback win, it pushed his fantasy point total to 38, by far the most by any player in Week 10 (through the 4 p.m. ET games). It also had him only two shy of becoming the 17th instance of a rookie running back reaching 40 fantasy points; Elliotts 38 rank tied for 20th on the list.More importantly, it increased Elliotts season fantasy point total to 176 through his first nine career games, which is the fourth-most by any running back through that many contests. Here are the top 10:Of course, you all obviously saw this coming, as Elliott was the most-started player at any position in ESPN leagues (99.8 percent) in Week 10.Ryan Mathews, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Who saw this one coming? After Darren Sproles totaled 28 rushing attempts to Mathews nine the past two weeks, ESPN fantasy owners started Sproles (59.6 percent) in nearly three times as many leagues as Mathews (18.4 percent) on Sunday. Mathews, however, delivered 27 fantasy points to Sproles seven and earned the No. 2 spot among running backs for the week (through the 4 p.m. ET games). That represents the second-best single-game effort of his career, behind his 31 in 2010 Week 17.Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense: Talk about the unexpected; the opposing Chicago Bears were actually favored in this one (by 0.5 points in our Pigskin Pick em). The Buccaneers were firmly in command, however, as they forced three Jay Cutler turnovers en route to a 25-point fantasy day for their D/ST. It was the teams best fantasy effort in nearly nine years; the Buccaneers last scored that many or more fantasy points in Week 15 (28) of 2007.Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans: Hes feasting upon a favorable portion of his schedule -- @MIA, CLE, IND, JAC, @SD, GB -- but Mariotas recent success warrants a Winners nod nevertheless. His 27 fantasy points were second-most among quarterbacks (through the 4 p.m. ET games) and gave him 144 during the aforementioned six-week span, easily the most by any player at any position in that time. Remarkably, fantasy owners have been lagging significantly behind this trend, as Mariotas 36.6 start percentage in ESPN leagues on Sunday ranked him outside the 10 (and, in fact, also outside the top 12) most popular starting quarterbacks for the week, and it was only his second-highest start percentage during said six-week span (40.9 percent, Week 9).Sundays game gave Mariota 187 fantasy points through 10 games, which puts him on pace for 299.2 by seasons end. Should he pick up the pace and reach the 300-point threshold, hed join an exclusive group of only five players to get there in a season in advance of his 23rd birthday: Dan Marino (353, 1984), Cam Newton (352, 2011), Eric Dickerson (329, 1983), Edgerrin James (315, 2000) and Robert Griffin (303, 2012). Mariota now has 385 fantasy points through his first 22 NFL games, which ranks ninth in history through that many contests.DeMarco Murray, RB, Titans: Perhaps Murrays accomplishments were even more impressive from a historic perspective, however. By scoring 25 fantasy points on Sunday, Murray managed his 10th consecutive game with at least 12 to begin the season, joining Larry Brown (1972) and O.J. Simpson (1975) as the only players since 1960 to manage at least that many points in their first 10 team games of a season.Murray also moved -- temporarily, in all likelihood -- into the scoring lead among running backs with the effort, as he now has 173 for the season. For reference, he had 175 fantasy points through 10 team games during his outstanding 2014 for the Dallas Cowboys; he had 107 in his final six contests for 282 at seasons end.Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers: He was heavily started, active in 96.6 percent of ESPN leagues, but his 26 fantasy points were plenty to earn him a spot here. Sundays game represented the 36th time in Rodgers career that he managed at least 25, putting him behind only Drew Brees (46), Peyton Manning (43) and Tom Brady (36) on that all-time list.Allen Robinson, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars:?After he scored 18 fantasy points, his fantasy owners were surely asking, Where has this been all season? This was the first time in 2016 that Robinson has managed more than seven catches or 100 receiving yards, and it was his best individual fantasy performance since his 21 in 2015 Week 16. Unfortunately, a decent percentage of his owners missed out on the performance, as he was started in only 74.3 percent of ESPN leagues, his lowest rate all season.Delanie Walker, TE, Titans: Mariotas hot streak has coincided (unsurprisingly) with Walkers uptick in fantasy production, as his 18 points Sunday represented a new season high and gave him four double-digit performances in his past six games. He is now on pace for 134 fantasy points using standard scoring and 202 using PPR, which puts him within range of his 143 and 237 of 2015.Cameron Brate, TE, Buccaneers: For the second consecutive week, Brate scored double-digit fantasy points, and his 14 gave him 63 for the season and -- at least temporarily (though also likely come weeks end) -- earned him a place among the top 10 scorers at his position for the season. His start percentage actually dipped this week, though, to 17.9 percent of ESPN leagues.Tyrell Williams, WR, San Diego Chargers: Though his clutch, fourth-quarter touchdown was quickly overshadowed in a heartbreaking loss for the Chargers, Williams score gave him 18 fantasy points and put him in a tie for second place in WR scoring this week . He set a single-game career high with this effort and it was his fourth double-digit performance in his past six games.Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys: Though his 18 fantasy points earned him a mere share of eighth place among quarterbacks for the week (that through the 4 p.m. ET games) -- and keep in mind that five quarterbacks managed 18 -- Prescotts consistency does warrant a mention. This was his eighth consecutive game of 15 fantasy points or more, which is the longest streak by any rookie quarterback since at least 1950; Prescott, in fact, has had at least 17 in all eight of those games.LeVeon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: His 24 fantasy points, remarkably, matched his fourth-best single-game total, and represented his most in a single game since 2014 Week 14 (41).Colin Kaepernick, QB, San Francisco 49ers: His was yet another unexpected occurrence, as he had 23 fantasy points, easily the most by any individual quarterback against the Arizona Cardinals this season. Fantasy owners showed their doubts about the matchup by starting him in only 3.0 percent of ESPN leagues.LosersMichael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints: On the heels of his single-game-best 19 fantasy points in Week 9, Thomas posted a zero-point stinker on Sunday, fueled primarily by two lost fumbles. They were the first two fumbles of any kind (recovered or not) in his nine-game career. He was started in 46.7 percent of ESPN leagues, which places him among the 30 most-started wide receivers, and while much of the blame could be attributed to the brutal matchup against the Denver Broncos, that fellow Saints wide receivers Willie Snead (16 fantasy points) and Brandin Cooks (15) easily outscored him was surely a frustration to those who risked using Thomas.A lone bright spot for Thomas: His six targets trailed only Sneads seven among all Saints players (any position), though its difficult to get a read on what the fumbles might do to his target share come Week 11, as both occurred during the fourth quarter. Cooks did get three of Drew Brees four looks in the Saints final drive after Thomas second fumble (Ingram got the fourth).Carlos Hyde, RB, 49ers: Though fantasy owners were somewhat prepared for a lackluster Hyde game -- he was started in only 35.6 percent of ESPN leagues -- his one-point performance did let down a fair share of teams. It was his worst single-game score since 2014 Week 14 (0), and it was only the second time in his career that he managed a score that low in a game in which he had double-digit carries (he also had one fantasy point, on 11 carries, in 2014 Week 6).Zach Miller, TE, Bears: While across the field the aforementioned Brate excelled, Miller was a big disappointment facing the more favorable matchup on paper. Fantasy owners started Miller in 43.6 percent of ESPN leagues, but Miller delivered just three fantasy points on his seven targets, which marked the fourth time this season that he had been held to that few.Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs: He was the third most-started tight end in ESPN leagues, active in 83.9 percent, but he scored only five fantasy points on his six targets while facing an extremely favorable matchup. Kelce has now been held to five fantasy points or fewer in five games -- and four of his past five -- this season.Brandon Marshall, WR, New York Jets: The Jets late change from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Bryce Petty at quarterback was expected to have an adverse impact upon Marshalls fantasy production, but a one-point game on six targets was beneath even the most pessimistic projections. It was Marshalls lowest fantasy point total since 2014 Week 3 (0), and it was his fifth game (out of 10) this season with fewer than six fantasy points. In 2015, Marshall never scored fewer than six in a game all season.Alshon Jeffery, WR, Bears: He was started in 88.2 percent of ESPN leagues, ninth among wide receivers, but managed a mere four fantasy points on nine targets despite his matchup against a Buccaneers team that, entering the week, had afforded the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Jeffery has now been limited to single digits in seven of his nine games in 2016.Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams: What a letdown of a season Gurley has endured. He scored just six fantasy points Sunday, the second consecutive week and fourth this season that he was held to that few or fewer. Twenty-three running backs, as of the conclusion of the 1 p.m. ET games, had outscored Gurleys 79 fantasy points for the season. That puts him on pace for 140 fantasy points come seasons end, which would be 36 fewer than he had in 2015 (176), and bear in mind that he missed three games during that rookie campaign. CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Marcus McMaryion kept it simple and he wound up with five touchdowns.McMaryion threw for 265 yards and a career-high five scores on Saturday night when Oregon State snapped a five-game losing streak with a 42-17 victory over Arizona. It was the most touchdown passes for a Beaver since 2013.Guys were just making plays, bottom line, McMaryion said. The play calls were there, real simple. I was trying not to over-complex things, just stick to my reads and not think too much. It definitely played dividends.Ryan Nall ran for 124 yards and another score while Jordan Villamin caught six passes for 124 yards in just the second conference win for the Beavers (3-8, 2-6-Pac-12).It was the eighth straight loss for the Wildcats (2-9, 0-8), who have been overwhelmed by injuries this season. Anu Solomon made his first start at quarterback since the opener but was injured in the first quarter and replaced by Brandon Dawkins, who threw for 106 yards and a touchdown while running for 88 yards on 15 carries.I feel bad for our school. I feel bad for our fans. I feel bad for our program, Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez said. We shouldnt get to this point. I guarantee well get out of it. I dont want to say that were going to be better because of it, because its miserable.Oregon State took the early lead on McMaryions 53-yard pass to Villamin. The Beavers extended the lead with McMaryions 11-yard pass to Nall, who missed last weeks game against UCLA because of a lingering foot injury.Solomon, who missed six games with a knee injury earlier this season, was sacked for a 19-yard loss early in the second quarter and was later seen limping on the sideline. He emerged from the locker room in the second half wearing a boot on his left foot. After Dawkins hit Nate Phillips with a 10-yard touchdown pass for the Wildcats, Timmy Hernandez made a diving 27-yard touchdown catch in the end zone to put the Beavers up 21-7.Josh Pollack made a 22-yard field goal for Arizona before the break.McMaryion added a 35-yard scoring pass to Trevon Bradford and Nall ran three yards for another score in the third quarter.Samajie Grant ran 2 yards for an Arizona touchdown in the final quarter but McMaryion closed out the game for the Beavers with a 10-yard scoring pass to Artavis Pierce.Oregon State coach Gary Andersen was impressed by the latest performance for his sophomore quarterback, who was pressed into service when starter Darell Garretson and backup Conor Blount were injured earlier this season. Air Max 97 From China. I thought he threw the ball accurately and the great thing is tonight guys caught the ball for him when presented with the opportunity, Andersen said. Thats big for us, because it hasnt gone that way a lot of times in certain scenarios. But I thought he was accurate and when he was accurate the ball got caught.THE TAKEAWAYArizona: Arizona went into the game ranked at the bottom of the Pac-12 for scoring offense with an average of 22.4 points per game. ... Rodriguez said afterward that Solomon injured his toe.Oregon State: With two wins in the Pac-12, the Beavers pull even with the rival Oregon Ducks, who won their second league game earlier in the day in a 30-28 upset of No. 11 Utah. The Civil War game next week will determine the last-place finisher in the Pac-12 North division.ONE MORE CHANCE: The Wildcats get one more shot at a conference win next weekend in the rivalry game against Arizona State.I feel like crap. Lost another game. Thank God we have our rival. Its at home. Its our seniors, who have had a good career up until this year, Rodriguez said. Gosh, if we cant put all our energy into putting our best foot forward for that one, then Id be extremely disappointed.PLAYING FOR SETH: The Beavers were without receiver Seth Collins, one of the most dynamic players on the team, who was hospitalized this past week with an undisclosed illness. Andersen couldnt discuss any specifics because of privacy rules. Collins, who is most likely done for the season, had 36 catches for 418 yards this season.Linebacker Manase Hungalu said afterward: That was our motivation. This whole team is built around family. One family member goes down, we gotta fight for him. That was our whole motivation for this game and it will continue until he gets better.UP NEXTArizona: The Wildcats wrap up a disappointing season at home on Friday with the Duel in the Desert rivalry game against Arizona State. RIO DE JANEIRO -- With a kiss of the ball and an unforgettable kick, Brazils biggest soccer star gave the Olympic host its biggest moment of the games. Nike NBA Jerseys Autographed .Brazil won its first Olympic gold medal in soccer Saturday with a dramatic penalty kick by Neymar to defeat Germany, sending the nation into a frenzy after a 1-1 (5-4 shootout) victory. Before the decisive shot, Neymar picked up the ball and kissed it before placing it on the penalty spot. With a stutter step and a smooth kick, he calmly sent a shot into the top corner and fell to his knees before being mobbed by his teammates.Thats it, Neymar said. We made history. It was a victory that was about more than soccer for a nation that desperately needed something to celebrate. Brazil had been battered by recession, political scandal, health scares over polluted water and the Zika virus and questions over whether it could pull off hosting the Olympics. All the troubles were forgotten when Neymars kick sailed into the net.Obviously this tournament had a special meaning for Brazil, Neymar said. This is one of the happiest things that have happened to me.Jubilant celebrations broke out around Rio, reminiscent of parties following the five World Cup championships won by this soccer-mad nation. Fireworks burst over the stadium, car horns blared and fans sang and tossed beer into the air.As the team stood atop the medal podium, gold draped around their necks, tears streamed down the faces of fans as all of Maracana Stadium joined in belting out the national anthem. The victory comes two years after an embarrassing 7-1 home loss to Germanys senior team in the World Cup semifinals. Brazil was also coming off a demoralizing elimination in the group stage of this years Copa America and struggled in early group play in the Olympics.Germany, playing with a young team that looked nothing like the World Cup-winning squad, made it hard for Brazil, hitting the crossbar three times in the first half. Neymar put Brazil ahead 1-0 with a superb free kick in the 26th minute -- and Usain Bolt celebrated along with the raucous crowd. Neymar paid tribute to the fastest man in the world by flashing the Jamaican nine-time gold medalists To the World pose on the pitch.Germany tied it with a goal in the 59th minute by captain Maximilian Meyer, and neither team scored again the rest of regulation and two extra periods of play. After the teams traded four tense goals in the shootout -- with both sides lining up arm in arm for each attempt, barely able to watch -- Brazilian goalkeeper Weverton dove to his left to stop Nils Petersens shot. The stop set the stage for Neymar, as if scripted. The greatest soccer player of this generation of Brazils stars, Neymar calmly seized this moment.I dont have words to say anything, Neymar said, sobbing. I cant describe my feelings right now. I just want to thank my teammates, my friends and my family, who have been by my side during the most difficult moments. It wasnt easy. I dont know what else to say, Im just really happy. After the game, Neymar announced that he didnt want to be the teams captain anymore, saying it was an honor but the coach could pick someone else going forward. He did not elaborate. The mens soccer tournament attracted most of the attention of Brazilian fans at the Olympics. The Brazilian football federation took the Olympic tournament as seriously as ever, bringing Neymar and many talented youngsters that are expected to be in the main squad in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Countries in Olympic competitions field their under-23 squad, which are different than the older and more experienced national teams that compete at the World Cup.Brazil had lost three Olympic finals, including four years ago in London, when it was upset by Mexico 2-1 with a team that also included Neymar and other talented players. Brazil won the bronze two times.Beloved nation, the gold is ours, Weverton said, still holding on to the game ball. This ball is mine, its part of history. Will all due respect to everybody who has a beautiful history and tried for a long time, God put this generation in this position to make history and we did.Brazil arrived as the main title-favorite but struggled in the beginning, being held to scoreless draws against South Africa and Iraq and becoming in danger of failing to advance past the group stage. This restores our self-esteem, Brazil coach Rogerio Micale said. We see that not all was lost, our football is still alive. There are some things that need to be fixed, but today we were able to make our people happy. The entire nation came to a standstill as people gathered to watch the game, erupting in cheers as Neymar clinched the gold. Now the respect is back, said fan Guilherme Junior. Now we can aim high again.---Tales Azzoni on Twitter: http://twitter.com/tazzoni. His work can be found at http://bigstory.ap.org/content/tales-azzoni Signed Nike NBA Jerseys . But Berry stepped in front of Ryans pass and ran 99 yards the other way to give the Chiefs (9-3) their winning margin. It came after Denver won a game in similar fashion last month, returning a blocked PAT for the winning points at New Orleans.Berry had another huge play with less than a minute to go in the first half, picking off Ryans pass over the middle and bringing it back 37 yards for a touchdown. After reaching the end zone, the suburban Atlanta native handed the ball to his mother sitting in the stands at the Georgia Dome. Those werent the only big plays for the Chiefs.CARSDINALS 31, REDSKINS 23GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Carson Palmer threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns and David Johnson scored twice. The loss by the Redskins (6-5-1) clinched a playoff spot for the 11-1 Dallas Cowboys.Palmers 25-yard touchdown pass to Johnson with 11:09 to play put Arizona ahead 24-20, the fourth lead change of the second half. After a Washington field goal, Palmers 42-yard pass to J.J. Nelson with 1:56 padded gave the Cardinals (5-6-1) a 31-23 lead.Washington drove to the Arizona 28-yard line before Patrick Petersons interception of Kirk Cousins pass with 41 seconds left sealed the victory.Johnson, who also scored on a 1-yard run, became the second player in NFL history to top 100 yards from scrimmage in the first 12 games of a season. Edgerrin James was the other.RAIDERS 38, BILLS 24OAKLAND, Calif. -- Derek Carr threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns to rally the Raiders to their biggest comeback in 16 years. After falling behind 24-9 following touchdowns on the first two drives of the second half for Buffalo (6-6), the Raiders (10-2) took the game over with 29 straight points. They won their sixth straight to remain one game ahead of Kansas City in the tough AFC West.Oakland scored touchdowns on three straight drives, including scoring strikes from Carr to Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper for his sixth fourth-quarter comeback of the season. This was the biggest comeback for the Raiders since overcoming a 21-point deficit to Indianapolis to win 38-31 on Sept. 10, 2000.The defense also tightened by forcing three straight three-and-outs and then getting a turnover when Khalil Mack deflected Tyrod Taylors pass that Nate Allen intercepted .STEELERS 24, GIANTS 14PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns, LeVeon Bell rolled up 182 yards of total offense, and Pittsburghs resurgent defense harassed Eli Manning into a flurry of mistakes.Antonio Brown edged good buddy Odell Beckham Jr. in their personal showdown, catching six passes for 54 yards and an acrobatic scoring grab at the back of the end zone. Tight end Ladarius Green added six receptions for 110 yards, both career highs, and a touchdown as the Steelers (7-5) won their third straight to keep pace with Baltimore atop the AFC North.Manning completed just 24 of 39 passes for 195 yards with two touchdowns and two picks in the red zone for the Giants (8-4), whose six-game run ended with a thud. Beckham was largely a non-factor despite a game-high 10 receptions for 100 yards.BUCCANEERS 28, CHARGERS 21SAN DIEGO -- Jameis Winston threw a go-ahead, 12-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Brate midway through the fourth quarter and Keith Tandy intercepted Philip Rivers in the end zone with 2:56 left to give the Buccaneers their fourth straight victory.Rivers had the Chargers on the move in the final minutes before Tandy got in front of a pass to Dontrelle Inman and picked it off. Tandys momentum carried him into the end zone, giving the Bucs the ball on their 20. They ran out the clock. The Bucs (7-5) pulled into a tie with Atlanta atop the NFC South.Rivers threw two second-half interceptions, including Lavonte Davids pick-6.The Chargers (5-7) were trying to get back to .500 for the first time since Week 2.PACKERS 21, TEXANS 13GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Aaron Rodgers threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, and the Packers pulled away with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. The Packers (6-6) weathered snowy conditions at Lambeau Field, making just enough plays on the cold turf.Brock Osweiler connected with DeAndre Hopkins for a 44-yard touchdown pass with 1:51 left to get within eight for Houston. Nick Novak missed the extra point, with footing slippery at Lambeau. The Texans (6-6) had one last shot after the Packers failed to run out the clock. But Osweilers last-ditch pass-and-lateral play from Houstons 12 with 4 seconds left failed, handing Houston its third straight loss and dropping it into a tie with Tennessee atop the AFC South.Nelson finished with eight catches for 118 yards and a touchdown for Green Bay.LIONS 28, SAINTS 13NEW ORLEANS -- Matthew Stafford passed for 341 yards and two touchdowns.Golden Tate exploited a coverage breakdown on third-and-long ffor a 66-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter when Detroit (8-4) was clinging to a six-point lead. Nike NBA Jerseys From China. The Lions, whove won seven of eight, dominated statistically, but four opportunities inside the New Orleans 20 ended with Matt Prater field goals, allowing the Saints (5-7) to stay close until the fourth quarter. This time, however, the Lions pulled away for their most comfortable victory of the season after seven previous victory margins of one to seven points. The Lions also became the first team in 60 Saints home games to stop Drew Brees from completing a touchdown pass, although tight end Coby Fleener had a pass bounce off his hands at the goal line.RAVENS 38, DOLPHINS 6BALTIMORE -- Joe Flacco threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns, and the Ravens overwhelmed the Dolphins in the first half to end Miamis six-game winning streak.Baltimore (7-5) led 24-0 at halftime behind Flacco and a dominant performance from the leagues second-ranked defense. Flacco went 27 for 34 for 258 yards and three scores over the first 30 minutes, and the Ravens yielded only 115 yards and intercepted a Ryan Tannehill pass. That was enough to provide the Ravens with their fourth win in five games. Miami also is 7-5.Flacco finished with a franchise-record 36 completions in 47 attempts, by far his most impressive outing in an uneven season. He entered with 11 TD passes and 10 interceptions.PATRIOTS 26, RAMS 10FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Tom Brady became the NFLs career leader in victories by a quarterback, earning his 201st by throwing for 269 yards and a touchdown. Brady, who was 33 of 46, had tied Peyton Manning last week in a win over the New York Jets. His lone touchdown came on a 14-yard pass to Chris Hogan in the first quarter. LeGarrette Blount scored the games first touchdown , rumbling for a 43-yard, ankle-breaking score in the first quarter while spinning around safety Maurice Alexander in the process. He finished with 88 yards on 18 carries. The Patriots (10-2) have won seven of their last eight. On the same day that Los Angeles coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead were given contract extensions, the recently relocated Rams (4-8) proved they still have a long way to go after losing for the seventh time in eight outings.BRONCOS 20, JAGUARS 10JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bradley Roby returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown, helping the Broncos gain ground in the AFC playoff picture.Roby picked off Blake Bortles wobbler across the middle in the third quarter and went untouched the other way. Star linebacker Von Miller hit Bortles as he released the ball.It was the 11th pick-6 of Bortles three-year career and his third in the last four games. Houston and Detroit also returned interceptions for touchdowns in games the Jaguars lost by less than seven points. The latest one resulted in a seventh consecutive loss for Jacksonville (2-10) and secured another miserable milestone for the small-market franchise. The Jaguars became the fifth team in NFL history to post double-digit losses in six consecutive seasons, joining Tampa Bay (1983-94), Detroit (2001-06), Oakland (2003-09) and Cleveland (2008-13).Jacksonville had a chance to tie in the final minutes, but Bortles fumbled trying to make a play in the pocket. The Broncos (8-4) rebounded from an overtime loss against Kansas City, and with Miamis loss at Baltimore, moved into position to get one of the conferences wild-card spots.BENGALS 32, EAGLES 14CINCINNATI -- Andy Dalton threw a pair of touchdown passes and Cincinnati finally got its depleted offense moving without receiver A.J. Green. The Bengals (4-7-1) got their first win since Oct. 23, beating a team thats in a swoon of its own. The Eagles (5-7) opened the season with three straight wins, but have dropped seven of nine.Dalton had completions of 50, 44, 29, 23 and 21 yards. The Bengals scored on each of their first six possessions for a 29-0 lead, reinventing themselves with Green and running back Giovani Bernard sidelined by injuries. The previous time they scored on their first six possessions was 2009 against the Bears. The only bad moment: Mike Nugent missed another PAT kick wide to the right, his fourth miss in a span of five tries. Nugent made field goals from 32, 33, 26 and 38 yards, the last one deflecting off the left upright.BEARS 26, 49ERS 6CHICAGO -- Jordan Howard ran for 117 yards and a career-high three touchdowns and the Bears handed San Francisco its 11th straight loss. The 49ers (1-11) extended their franchise-record losing streak and set a club low with 6 yards net passing on a day when Colin Kaepernick got lifted for Blaine Gabbert. The Bears (3-9) finished with a season high in points and picked up a rare win in a matchup between two of the NFLs worst teams.Matt Barkley, making his second start with Jay Cutler sidelined by a season-ending shoulder injury, went nearly the entire first half without a completion. But he led a touchdown drive near the end of the second quarter and finished 11 of 18 for 192 yards.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Cheap Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys 2018 Camo China NFL Jerseys Black China NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Gear Wholesale NFL Camo Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Outlet China Womens NFL Jerseys Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Discount NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Hoodies Wholesale Jerseys From China ' ' '

There are some early surprises in the race for the Hart Trophy, but two of the contenders are the leagues biggest stars over the past decade. There are many more players in contention for the awards than just the three that Ive named, and a good or bad week can easily alter the landscape, but through the first 20 or so games of the NHL season, this is how the awards races look to me. With Parker having a quiet game for once, Nicolas Batum and Boris Diaw provided the scoring as France won its first major basketball title by beating Lithuania 80-66 on Sunday. It was a victory that ended a decade of frustration for Parker and a talented French generation, which lost the final against Spain two years ago and took bronze in 2005. WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Conor Sheary scored twice, including the winner with 1:42 left, to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins over the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 on Tuesday night.Evgeni Malkin and Carl Hagelin also scored for Pittsburgh while Matt Murray stopped 25 shots in his first home start since Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final. Sidney Crosby was held without a point but helped begin the sequence that set up Sheary for the go-ahead goal.Edmonton star Connor McDavid assisted on all three Oiler goals, more than holding his own against Crosby, his childhood idol. Jordan Eberle scored twice and Patrick Maroon picked up his fifth of the season. Cam Talbot made 27 saves but couldnt make a two-goal lead stand up.Pittsburgh got the late lead when Edmonton forward Benoit Pouliots clear attempt smacked off Sheary and into the net.The Penguins won their fourth straight and remained unbeaten in regulation (6-0-1).JETS 8, STARS 2WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Patrik Laine took the NHL lead in goals with the second hat trick of his rookie season, lifting Winnipeg over Dallas.Laine has 11 goals and 15 points this season. The goal stood after a video review.Shea Weber and Alex Galchenyuk also scored for Montreal, which got a second straight win since a 10-0 defeat in Columbus on Friday night.Colin Miller and David Pastrnak scored for the Bruins, who still had legs in the third period despite playing a back-to-back after a 4-0 victory Monday night over Buffalo.Rookie Zane McIntyre had 20 saves for Boston.KINGS 7, MAPLE LEAFS 0TORONTO -- Jeff Carter scored twice during a four-goal second period, Peter Budaj made 19 saves and Los Angeles thumped Toronto.Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli added goals in the second period and Dustin Brown, Kyle Clifford and Dwight King also scored. Third-line center Nic Dowd did the dirty work, controlling the puck down low before finding Brown atop the left faceoff circle. Cheap Air Max 90 Shoes. PREDATORS 3, SENATORS 1NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- James Neal and P.K. Subban each had a goal and an assist to lead Nashville over Ottawa.Ryan Ellis also scored for Nashville, and Pekka Rinne made 33 saves. The Predators had lost their previous two games in shootouts.Kyle Turris scored and Craig Anderson made 27 saves for Ottawa, which has lost consecutive games.Nashville has defeated the Senators in five of the last six matchups.RED WINS 3, FLYERS 2, SOPHILADELPHIA -- Andreas Athanasiou tied it midway through the third period and had the only score in the shootout, helping Detroit snap a five-game losing streak.Tomas Tatar also scored for Detroit, which ended a 12-game regular season losing streak in Philadelphia dating to Jan. 25, 1997. The Red Wings did win the first two games of the 1997 Stanley Cup Final in Philadelphia on their way to a four-game sweep.Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux scored and Jakub Voracek had a pair of assists for the Flyers. In the shootout, all three Philadelphia skaters -- Travis Konecny, Giroux and Voracek -- missed.Jimmy Howard stopped 23 shots for Detroit. Steve Mason had 33 saves.CANUCKS 5, RANGERS 3NEW YORK -- Alexandre Burrows scored twice in the third period to help Vancouver end a nine-game losing streak.Henrik Sedin and Sven Baertschi each had a goal and an assist, and Loui Eriksson also scored for the Canucks, who were 0-8-1 with eight straight regulation losses since opening the season with four wins.Bo Horvat had two assists and Jacob Markstrom finished with 23 saves.Rick Nash, Pavel Buchnevich and Mika Zibanejad scored for the Rangers, who had won five straight while scoring at least five goals in each game. Buchnevich also had two assists.Antti Raanta stopped 20 shots, though he left for 6:19 in the third period after being run into by the Canucks Markus Granlund. NFL Nation reporters give one prediction for each team down the stretch. Under Armour Basketball Shoes Mens .AFC East | AFC North| AFC South | AFC West NFC East | NFC North | NFC South | NFC WestAFC EASTBuffalo BillsTyrod Taylor will fail to record the first 300-yard passing game of his career. That mark has proved elusive for Taylor over his first 26 starts in Buffalo and the lack of a marquee passing performance will continue to be a point of contention with the Bills keeping Taylor for 2017 and beyond. Taylor came up small in big moments during Sundays 38-24 collapse in Oakland, completing only 51.4 percent of his passes for 191 yards. -- Mike RodakMiami DolphinsDolphins DT Ndamukong Suh will return to the Pro Bowl for the fifth time in his career.Suh, who was not a Pro Bowler last season, is third on the team in tackles (53) and second in sacks (five). It also helps Suhs résumé that Miami (7-5) is winning more games this season. -- James WalkerNew England PatriotsIf in position to clinch it, the Patriots will prioritize home-field advantage in the playoffs at a much higher level than they did last season. It doesnt sound like a hard-hitting prediction until you consider what unfolded last year: Needing only to win at Miami in the season finale to clinch home-field advantage, the Patriots adopted arguably the most curious game plan of Bill Belichicks 17 years as coach, running 21 times in the first half and throwing just five times. By the time the Patriots opened up the attack in the second half, it was too late to come back against a Miami team that had entered the game with little motivation to compete because it was already out of the playoffs. We all know what happened as a result of the Patriots losing home-field advantage; they ultimately had to go to Denver, where they lost in the AFC title game. -- Mike ReissNew York JetsQB Bryce Petty wont make it through the final four games as the Jets starter.Behind a leaky offensive line, the Jets newly anointed quarterback as of Week 14 wont start the final four games, necessitating the return of former starter Ryan Fitzpatrick. He will defeat the Bills in the season finale, one year too late. -- Rich CiminiAFC NORTHBaltimore RavensKicker Justin Tucker will finish out 2016 in record-setting fashion.Tucker, who has made 35 straight field goals dating to late season, will break Adam Vinatieris NFL-record streak of 44 straight field goals. He will also shatter Blair Walshs mark for most field goals beyond 50 yards in a season, needing only three more to set the record. All of that will result in Tuckers second Pro Bowl appearance. -- Jamison HensleyCincinnati BengalsThe Bengals wont win out to make the playoffs. However, Cincinnati will look much improved after snapping their three-game losing streak with a win against the Browns and will finish 2-1 in their final three divisional games against the Browns, Steelers and Ravens. Wide receiver A.J. Green will still make the Pro Bowl despite missing several games with a hamstring injury. -- Katherine TerrellCleveland BrownsRobert Griffin III will not last the final four games of the season. With a patchwork offensive line in front of him, and needing to shake off three months of rust from not playing, its tough to see him lasting the final four games without being hurt. Durability remains a concern for him. -- Pat McManamonPittsburgh SteelersAntonio Brown will become the 33rd player in NFL history to record 15 receiving touchdowns in a season.Brown has 11 scores on the year, but five of those have come in the past four games. Brown and QB Ben Roethlisberger have found a big-play rhythm from inside the 40, and this offense is designed to create favorable matchups for Brown as the Steelers get closer to the red zone. -- Jeremy FowlerAFC SOUTHHouston TexansQB Brock Osweiler will not be benched the rest of this season.Osweiler ranks 29th in yards per game (209), 32nd in yards per attempt (5.77) and tied for 20th in touchdowns (14) this season, but despite his struggles, coach Bill OBrien has shown he is committed to starting him. A fifth-year QB, Osweiler has had some really bad performances, including games against Minnesota, Denver, Jacksonville and San Diego, so if the Texans were going to bench him, they would have already done it. His four-year, $72 million contract probably plays a part in the teams reluctance to sit him for backup Tom Savage. -- Sarah BarshopIndianapolis ColtsFrank Gore will become the Colts first running back to rush for at least 1,000 yards in a season since Joseph Addai did it in 2007.Gore, who recently moved ahead of Tony Dorsett for eighth place on the NFLs all-time rushing list, needs to rush for 251 yards in the Colts final four games to record the ninth 1,000-yard rushing season in his career. -- Mike WellsJacksonville JaguarsTE Julius Thomas wont make another catch this season. He has missed the past two games with a back injury, and the Jaguars have used second-year players Neal Sterling and Ben Koyack as suitable replacements. They have combined to catch 10 passes for 86 yards in his absence. Since he caught four passes for 71 yards in Week 2, Thomas hasnt topped 28 yards receiving in any game. It wouldnt be a surprise if the Jaguars put Thomas on injured reserve soon. -- Mike DiRoccoTennessee TitansRishard Matthews will finish the season with double-digit touchdown receptions.Matthews could become just the second receiver in the Titans era to score at least 10 times; Drew Bennett caught 11 in 2004. Matthews has seven TDs with four games left and will find a path to three more, keyed by an especially big game against Jacksonville in Week 16. ? -- Paul KuharskyAFC WESTDenver BroncosVon Miller will make a run at the 20-sack barrier.Despite an almost constant diet of double- and triple-teams every time he rushes the passer this season, Miller will threaten his single-season best in sacks and will work at notching 20. He finished with 18.5 sacks in 2012 and currently leads the league with 13.5 sacks after 12 games. Miller should be in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation for what he has done already this season. You would be hard-pressed to find a player anywhere in the league who is doing more despite all of the attention he gets on every play for an elite defense. The Broncos will need him to be at his best if they are going to navigate the toughest finishing stretch in the league -- their four remaining opponents currently have a winning percentage of .729. -- Jeff LegwoldKansas City ChiefsDB Eric Berry will be the Chiefs MVP.The Chiefs have had other candidates flash for this award at various points of the season, including Spencer Ware, Marcus Peters and Tyreek Hill. But Berrys contributions are the lasting ones. He single-handedly lifted the Chiefs back into a November game against the Panthers with a fourth-quarter interception and spectacular return for a touchdown. The Chiefs went on to win on the games final play. But Berry was just getting warmed up for the Week 13 game in Atlanta, where his knack for making the big play was never more on display. Berrys leadership skills are another factor. Because of what hes been through in beating cancer and because of his no-nonsense approach, his teammates always listen when he has something to say. -- Adam TeicherOakland RaidersKhalil Mack will win the NFLs defensive player of the year award.Mack will continue his closing methods down the stretch. Or did you miss him ending consecutive games with strip-sacks, against Cam Newton and Tyrod Taylor the past two weeks, while recovering the fumbles himself? He also had a pick-six against Newton. Mack, who has 10 sacks and a seven-game streak with at least one sack, is just getting warmed up as the Raiders hit the final quarter of the season. Stay tuned, and, as the man said, get your popcorn ready. -- Paul GutierrezSan Diego ChargersCB Casey Hayward will make the Pro Bowl for the first time in his first season with the Chargers.Hayward has gone mostly unnoticed nationally, but he leads the NFL in interceptions (7) and pass breakups (24). And Hayward travels with the opposing teams best receiver. Last week against Tampa Bay, Hayward held Mike Evans to three receptions for 38 yards. With starting cornerbacks Jason Verrett and Brandon Flowers out because of injury, Hayward developed into San Diegos top cover corner this season. San Diego leads the NFL with 15 interceptions. -- Eric D. WilliamsNFC EASTDallas CowboysEzekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott will make history and become the first pair to share the offensive rookie of the year award. How do you pick one over the other? Elliott leads the NFL in rushing and Prescott is the quarterback of the team with the best record in football. But they will split the tallies among the voters because it will be too difficult to pick one as the reason for the Cowboys success. Elliott has become the Cowboys heartbeat. Prescott has been productive and efficient a season after the Cowboys went 1-11 without Tony Romo. -- Todd ArcherNew York GiantsSafety Landon Collins will be named All-Pro in his second professional season.Earning All-Pro honors would be quite a leap and accomplishment after Collins rookie struggles, but he is leading the Giants in tackles (94) and interceptions (5) and is around the ball consistently. Collins will also be named to his first Pro Bowl team. -- Jordan RaananPhiladelphia EaglesQB Carson Wentz will set a new franchise mark for most passing attempts in a season. That record is currently held by Donovan McNabb, who threw it 571 times in 2008. Wentz is on pace for more than 600 attempts. Its alarming that the coaching staff has him dropping back 38 times per game. If he keeps that pace up and remains healthy, hell be the Eagles new leader in that category. -- Tim McManusWashington RedskinsThe Redskins will win three of their final four games. The schedule is set up well for them, with Philadelphia, Carolina, Chicago and the New York Giants as their four remaining opponents. None of those teams has an offense operating at a high level, which is good for a team with a bad defense. The Redskins have shown they can move the ball on any team, and with just a little more red zone success, thatll be enough to finish the season strong. -- John KeimNFC NORTHChicago BearsFor the second straight season, the Bears will not have a receiver catch 60 passes. In 2015, Alshon Jeffery led the club with 54 receptions, but he played in only nine games. A similar theme emerged this season. Through 12 games, tight end Zach Miller (injured reserve) tops the team with 47 catches, but hes out for the year. Jeffery has 40 receptions but still has one game remaining in his four-game suspension for PEDs. While not impossible, it seems unlikely that Jeffery will catch 20 passes over the final three weeks. Cameron Meredith is third on the Bears with 38 receptions. The Bears had a player catch 100-plus passes each year from 2012-14 (Brandon Marshall, Marshall and Matt Forte), but those days are long gone. -- Jeff DickersonDetroit LionsQB Matthew Stafford will garner votes in the MVP race but will initially be snubbed from the NFC Pro Bowl team. This years Pro Bowl features a tough race among Dak Prescott, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson and Stafford. Stafford might end up going if the Lions are eliminated from the playoffs and other players back out, but the logjam of NFC quarterbacks will keep him from getting in on his own even though hes quite deserving. But, Stafford will finish in the top five in MVP voting, possibly as high as second, depending on how Detroit finishes up. -- Michael RothsteinGreen Bay PackersAaron Rodgers will become the first quarterback to lead the Packers in rushing for a season since 1956, when QB Tobin Rote rushed for a team-best 398 yards. With four games to go, Eddie Lacy is the teams leading rusher with 360 yards, but Lacy hasnt played since Week 6. Rodgers needs only 60 yards rushing to pass Lacy for the team lead. The next closest players to Lacy are Ty Montgomery (187 yards rushing) and James Starks (142). -- Rob DemovskyMinnesota VikingsStefon Diggs will become the first Vikings receiver since Randy Moss to surpass 100 catches in a season.Diggs has 75 catches through 12 games. No Vikings receiver has reached 100 in a season since Moss caught 111 balls in 2003, but Diggs is the focal point of the Vikings offense when hes healthy. If hes on the field for the final four games of the season, after missing two games with groin and knee injuries, hell go north of 100 catches. -- Ben GoesslingNFC SOUTHAtlanta FalconsVic Beasley Jr. will lead the NFL in sacks at seasons end.Through 13 weeks, the Falcons outside linebacker is second in the league with 10.5 sacks, right behind Von Miller (12.5). J.J. Watt won the crown last season with 17.5 sacks. With four games left, Beasley is capable of putting together a couple of multi-sack outings. Two of Atlantas remaining opponents, the Rams and 49ers, rank in the bottom six in the league in sacks allowed per pass attempt. -- Vaughn McClureCarolina PanthersThe Panthers will move on from their entire running backs corp after the season. In March, starter Jonathan Stewart?will turn 30, an age when production for running backs typically declines. Fozzy Whittaker has been a non-factor this season. So has fullback/running back Mike Tolbert. Second-year back Cameron Artis-Payne has been active only for the three games Stewart missed. Artis-Payne might be the only one of those who is brought back, because hes young and inexpensive. Its time to move on from the rest. -- David NewtonNew Orleans SaintsDrew Brees will set the NFL record for single-season completion percentage for the third time in his career.Brees is already No. 1 and No. 2 on the all-time list (71.2 in 2011 and 70.6 in 2009). But hes on pace to raise the bar even further at 71.4 percent. Brees will also surpass the 5,000-yard passing mark for the fifth time in his career. No other NFL QB has ever done that more than once. -- Mike TriplettTampa Bay BuccaneersThe Bucs will win two of their remaining four games to finish 9-7.The Bucs have the leagues fifth-hardest remaining schedule, according to ESPNs NFL Football Power Index, and that includes a trip to Dallas in two weeks, plus two games against the Saints and then Carolina in Week 17. Meanwhile, the Falcons have the Rams, 49ers, Panthers and Saints up next. So the Bucs might not win the division, but they might just squeak into the playoffs with a wild-card spot, depending on how things shake up in the NFC North and NFC East. If the season ended today, theyd be in. -- Jenna LaineNFC WESTArizona CardinalsDavid Johnson will get the 296 receiving yards he needs to finish the season as the third player in NFL history with 1,000 rush and 1,000 receiving yards in a season.Johnsons strong finish to the 2016 regular season will lead to his first Pro Bowl appearance and a spot in the All-Pro team as one of the best running backs in the NFL. Johnson currently leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage and is third in rushing (1,005 through 12 games). He also leads running backs in receiving yards (704). -- Josh WeinfussLos Angeles RamsTodd Gurley will reach 1,000 rushing yards.Yes, this qualifies as a bold prediction. Very bold, actually. Gurley, 22, has had a miserable sophomore season on the ground, largely because defenses are stacking the box and his offensive line is not doing nearly enough to counter. Gurley is sitting on 679 rushing yards heading into the final quarter and needs to average 80.25 just to reach the 1,000-yard mark. He has topped 80 rushing yards only once all season. But lately, his limited production has been a product of the Rams falling behind and having to throw the ball a lot. The biggest thing they want to salvage this season is finding a way to get Gurley going on the ground. Theyll make some strides in this area moving forward. Gurley is too good to be held down all season. -- Alden GonzalezSan Francisco 49ersThe 49ers will win another game ... and still pick second in the 2017 NFL draft. The Niners have set a franchise record with 11 consecutive losses, and at this point they would be better served to lose out and hope Cleveland wins to land the top draft pick. But a look at the schedule shows some opportunities for wins: this week at home against the Jets on a short week; a Christmas eve rematch against the only team theyve beaten this season, the Rams; and a Week 17 game against a Seattle team that figures to have its playoff spot wrapped up. San Francisco should find a win in there somewhere, but that shouldnt be enough to lose its grip on the second pick. -- Nick WagonerSeattle SeahawksThe defense will lead the NFL in fewest points allowed for the fifth straight season.Currently, the Seahawks are allowing 16.17 points per game, which is tops in the NFL. Holding on to that spot could be difficult, given that safety Earl Thomas (fractured tibia) is out for the season, but the schedule looks favorable, with matchups against the Rams and 49ers still looming. -- Sheil Kapadia Under Armour Basketball Shoes USA .J. -- Marty Brodeur beat the Pittsburgh Penguins yet again. "Thank you for the warm welcome," Beckham said on an 80-degree February morning. In this case, it was soccer weather. The sport moved a step closer to returning to South Florida on Wednesday, when Beckham confirmed he has exercised his option to purchase a Major League Soccer expansion franchise in Miami. CLEVELAND -- Indians outfielder Michael Brantley, who has played in only 11 games this season for the AL Central leaders, will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder Monday.Brantley had surgery in November and began the season on the disabled list. He was activated in late April but returned to the DL on May 10 with biceps tendinitis.Brantley has attempted to return several times but was shut down with soreness in the shoulder while he was hitting. He recceived two cortisone shots and underwent a procedure to remove scar tissue, but the shoulder didnt progress enough for him to return.
