Liverpool and Southampton sent Chelsea down to fourth place as the west London club was held to 2-2 at home. NYKVARN, Sweden -- The band had been playing for an hour, alternating Bruce Springsteen covers with covers of Tomas Ledin, the Swedish equivalent of the Boss, when they took a break. The MC stepped up and led the crowd into the Viking war chant, which the fans of Icelands soccer team made famous during the Euro 2016 tournament in June.Their screams of uh, uh, uh, uh echoed in the Nykvarns Folkets Park, or Peoples Park, before ending in huge applause. The band switched to Tina Turners 1989 hit The Best, there was smoke in the air, about a thousand people waved Swedish and American flags, many wearing Pittsburgh Penguins sweaters, waiting for a back door to open. And when it opened, Carl Hagelin walked in with the Stanley Cup. From the stage, he could see the yard where he used to play soccer when he was in elementary school in the small town of Nykvarn. (Like Newfoundlanders, people in Nykvarn interestingly stress the latter half of the name, [New-KVARN]. The name means new mill in Swedish, and apparently, its the mill thats the important part.)Hagelin was 13 when he left Nykvarns school system to go to school in S?dert?lje, the bigger town about 40 minutes south of Stockholm. When it was time for high school, he opted for one with focus on hockey in nearby J?rna, and when it was time for higher education, he left Sweden for the University of Michigan. But when he got his 16 hours with the Cup, he wanted to bring it back to where it all began. To Nykvarn, population of about 6,000 and 50 minutes south of Stockholm. The towns Wikipedia page lists two people under famous people from Nykvarn. Carl Hagelin is not one of them. Not yet, anyway. For an hour he stood next to the Cup, and then did knee-bends posing for photos with everybody from old friends to old friends kids, from older men to younger ladies, and from younger men to older ladies. It was fun to see some faces that I hadnt really seen since sixth grade. It feels good to see that they still follow my career and believe in what I do, Hagelin told Its wonderful to be able to share this with my old friends and acquaintances. Before taking the Cup to Nykvarn, Hagelin made a stop at the S?dert?lje Scaniarinken, the home arena of the only team hes even represented in Sweden. While other S?dert?lje players have won the Cup -- for example, Mats Hallin (1982, 1983) with the New York Islanders and Mikael Samuelsson (2008) with the Detroit Red Wings -- it was the first time the Stanley Cup had been at the arena. It was pretty obvious to me that Id bring the Cup to the arena and Nykvarn. Ive been to S?dert?ljes games since I was a kid and Nykvarn is where I grew up, said Hagelin, who added that the only thing missing from the Scaniarinkens event were the faans chants. David de Gea Jersey. .It wasnt just the pure joy of sharing his happiness with the Nykvarn people that made Hagelin take the Cup to the Peoples Park. He came back with a message.I was something of a late bloomer, but the love for the game pushed me forward, he told the audience in Swedish. The most important thing is to enjoy what you do, and then to work hard at it.It was his brother Bobbie, now the Calgary Flames European amateur scout, who was the first star of the family. He represented Sweden on all junior national teams, and it was Bobbie, four years senior, who taught Carl how to work hard in the offseason.I think he was about 14 when he asked me if I could help him with that, Bobbie Hagelin told And he has the capacity to work, which is why hes here today. And hes smart.Thats why Carl Hagelin, before stepping down from the stage for the photo opportunities, left the Nykvarn kids with another message.Make sure you work hard at school too, he said.Carls and Bobbies careers took very different paths. Bobbie made the junior national teams and made the S?dert?lje Swedish league team as an 18-year-old, while Carl -- considered too small -- took the college hockey route, never having graduated from the S?dert?lje juniors to the mens team. He wasnt drafted in his draft year and had to wait an additional year before the New York Rangers choose him in the sixth round in 2007.I wanted to take the Cup here as a reminder of the fact that as long as you work hard, you can reach your dreams, Carl Hagelin told ESPN. It doesnt matter who you are or where youre from.Hagelin crouched, smiled, shook hands with the fans and posed for selfies while the Nykvarn municipalitys chairman of the city council spoke, recounting the accomplishments of their latest hero, before introducing Hagelins fiancée, Erika, standing in the crowd, wearing a Penguins cap. Bobbie was the only member of the Hagelin family not wearing anything Penguins related. Hes not allowed to, his father, Boris, said with a smile. At Scaniarinken, just as Hagelin was about to pick up the trophy and move on to Nykvarn, the music switched from Queens We Are the Champions -- which had been playing in a loop with the official S?dert?lje SK song -- to Just Came Back, by Canadian blues rocker Colin James, which includes the lyrics, I just came back/To say goodbye. But Hagelin is not back to say goodbye. The next goal is to win the World Cup of Hockey with Sweden and then go for back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Penguins, he told the cheering crowd.Nykvarn city council is going to keep a close eye on the playoffs next year. The upcoming ODI series between England and Pakistan will be used as a trial to see whether front foot no-balls can be effectively determined by the TV umpire and conveyed to the on-field official. .To assist the TV umpire, the ICC said that footage from the four side-on cameras for run-outs will be made available on a split-screen feed, along with slow-motion replays and a rewind-forward option. To receive communication from the TV umpire, the on-field official will wear a pager watch, which will vibrate when a no-ball is called. If the watch fails to deliver the intended message, the umpires will use regular verbal communication. The only instance when on-field umpires can use their discretion to call a no-ball during the series is if the side-on cameras are unavailable. This trial is being carried out to ascertain if there is a way in which front foot no-balls can be called more accurately and consistently, while also assessing the TV umpires workload and identifying the impact it will have on the flow of the game, Adrian Griffith, ICCs senior manager - umpires and referees, said. While we need to find out if the technology set-up for this purpose is fit, at the same time we feel this is the right time to conduct the trial as the TV umpires will have more information than ever before to share with the on-field umpires, which, in turn, will help them in correct decision-making.Griffith said that there will be training sessions conducted for the umpires before the series. To ensure that the match officials are thoroughly briefed and trained for this trial, the ICC will conduct training sessions with the umpires and match referee in Southampton on Monday and Tuesday. The results of this technology trial will be shared with the ICC Cricket Committee, which will advise the ICC on future action. . Andreas Johnson had a goal and two assists while Jacob de la Rose also scored for Sweden (2-0-0). Esa Lindell and Rasmus Ristolainen replied for Finland (1-1-0) Lindell opened the scoring for Finland just 41 seconds into the game, but the hosts quickly regained their composure and tied the score less than four minutes later on Wennbergs first of the game. Former North Queensland fullback Tim Brasher believes Cronulla have made a huge error by saying they will target current Cowboys No.1 Lachlan Coote. The Sharks earlier vowed to test Coote in Friday nights NRL preliminary final at Allianz Stadium after the North Queensland custodians error-riddled display last Friday night against Brisbane.Brasher admitted Coote almost cost North Queensland their title defence in their elimination semi-final.Despite his errors the Cowboys rallied to oust the Broncos 26-20 in extra time and Brasher doesnt expect Coote will repeat the display in the grand final qualifier. Its like waving a red rag to a bull, Brasher told AAP.The Sharkies are really stoking the fire.Saying they will target him, I think you will find he will bounce back and prove he is the class player we all know he is.Coote made four handling errors against Brisbane, including a horror spilt kick that allowed Jordan Kahu to score and give the Broncos a 14-6 halftime lead.Obviously last week he had a game he wanted to forget - it was very unlike him, said Balmain great Brasher, who finished his career at North Queensland from 2000-02.But I dont care who it is, everyone makees mistakes. Billy Slater is probably the best fullback in the modern era and he made one of the biggest mistakes, that lost us a World Cup final (in 2008).We all make them, its how you bounce back and I think Cootes class will shine through.Brasher was already convinced Coote should be NSW State of Origin fullback next year ahead of incumbent James Tedesco, and the man Tedesco replaced this series, Penriths Matt Moylan. Before Origin this year I was backing Lachlan over Matt Moylan, he said.Hes got a great kicking game that takes the pressure off (Johnathan) Thurston and his positional play is the best of all the fullbacks. He reads the game better than most.Coote is a fullback who turns up at the right spot at the right time.Brasher believes Cronulla should be concerned that North Queensland still found a way to win against Brisbane despite Cootes shocker. His crucial mistakes there could have cost them the game, but they got over it, he said. When someone is not having a great day they all rallied around him and still got the win. PRIDDIS, Alberta -- Brooke Henderson is the face of Canadian golf. Yan Gomes Jersey . Lydia Ko is a big hit, too -- and every bit as comfortable.I feel when I come to Canada, it feels a lot like New Zealand, feels a lot like home, Ko said Wednesday, a day before the start of play in the Canadian Pacific Womens Open. Just even how they say `eh at the end of sentences. A lot of people back at home say `eh, too. ... Everyone has just been super welcoming, and I think thats the thing about it. The 18-year-old Henderson had a large crowd for her pro-am round at Priddis Greens.Having Canadians and people from all over the world kind of celebrate this national championship is really cool, Henderson said. Even this morning, I teed off at 8 in a pro-am, and there were people following me right from the start. My gallery kind of grew throughout the day, and as I finished, that was probably the longest autograph session that Ive ever had.The top-ranked Ko has won the event three of the last four years, the first two as an amateur. The New Zealander won in 2012 at Vancouver Golf Club at 15 years, 4 months to become the LPGA Tours youngest winner and fifth amateur champion. She successfully defended her title in 2013, winning by five strokes in Edmonton. Last year back at Vancouver as a pro, she beat Stacy Lewis in a playoff. The 19-year-old Ko has four LPGA Tour victories this season, winning the ANA Inspiration in April for her second major title.Lydia is truly amazing, Henderson said. Shes an inspiration to me and I think everybody that knows her.Henderson beat Ko in a playoff in June in the KPMG Womens PGA Championship for her first major title, and successfully defended her Cambia Portland Classic title in early July.Shes not afraid to be out in front, veteran Canadian player Lorie Kane said. I truly respect the way she plays in that shes accepting of what happens and she moves past it. Ive had enough time to play with her to see shes got all kinds of game. She swings a very big driver a very long way and Im extremely proud of her.Ko was second last week in the Rio Olympics, five strokes behind winner Inbee Park. Its definitely a quick turnaround, but this is one of our best tournaments on our tour schedule, so even the girls that were in Rio I think were all excited to be here, Ko said. Last week, the course was a little bit like sand belt with a little bit of British flair. This is a bit more traditional. ... Its firm and fast. Last week, we were wearing shorts. This week, were wearing sweaters.Henderson tied for seventh in Rio.Rio was kind of just a sixth major on the LPGA Tour, Henderson said. Of course, there was lots of other things going on. ... It was cool, but the end of the day it was just four rounds of golf, regular stroke play individual that we do every single week, playing against the same players we play against every week.Ko and Henderson are on opposite sides of the draw. Ko will open play Thursday morning on the 10th tee with Jessica Korda and Sei Young Kim, and Henderson will start on No. 1 in the afternoon with Gerina Piller and Amy Yang.Kane, at 51, is making her record-tying 26th straight appearance in the event. The four-time LPGA Tour winner was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.Im proud of myself. Ive accomplished some things that I never thought would have been possible, Kane said. To think in 20 years what I have achieved -- the four wins? It took me a long time to win the first one and then the next three came pretty quickly after that.Kane will match the tournament record for consecutive starts set by Hollis Stacy.Suzann Pettersen won the 2009 tournament at Priddis Greens. The tour will remain in Canada next week for the Manulife LPGA Classic in Cambridge, Ontario, with Pettersen the defending champion. But I dont worry about that until afterwards. My goal is to be the first one across the finish line. The time? Well take that when it comes.Wiggle It Jiggleit co-owner George Teague Jr. understands the challenge.Im not going to kid you, Id rather be 1-9 going for $500,000 than have to race those other two horses, he said. OXON HILL, Md. Satchel Paige Jersey . -- Reliever Joaquin Benoit and the Philadelphia Phillies finalized a $7.5 million, one-year contract, part of the teams efforts to rebuild its bullpen. Its important in a bullpen to have different styles of pitchers, right? Philadelphia general manager Matt Klentak said Tuesday at the winter meetings. Ideally, youd have some righties and some lefties and some more experienced players blended with some younger players, and fastballs and sliders and curveballs.Benoit, a 39-year-old right-hander, has had an ERA under 3.00 for six of the past seven years. He was 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA last season, including a 0.38 ERA after the Toronto Blue Jays acquired him from Seattle in July for reliever Drew Storen. Benoit averaged 9.75 strikeouts per nine innings.Over the last seven seasons, Benoit has a 0.98 WHIP (walks and hits per inning), trailing only Kenley Jansen (0.89) and Craig Kimbrel (0.95) around the majors in that span. Benoit has 51 saves in 712 big league games. The deal comes about a month after the Phillies acquired righty reliever Pat Neshek in a trade with the Houston Astros and exercised a club option for $6.5 million in 2017 for him.The 36-year-old Neshek was 2-2 with a 3.06 ERA in 60 relief appearances with Houston last season, holding right-handed hitters to a .172 average and compiling 43 strikeouts in 47 innings. We dont have a premier closer, which wed love to have. But last year we didnt either. ... Somebody is going to be capable of doing that, Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said. What we have now is a deeper bullpen, with more experience, better pitchers.Last season, the Phillies were 14-3 in one-run games as of May 15, then went only 14-20 the rest of the way in such contests, along the way to finishing 71-91 and in fourth place in the NL East.I feel now, with the addition of Benoit and Neshek, we got better for even the fifth and the sixth, and if (Jeanmar) Gomez ends up closing, or hes down in the fifth or sixth, depending on how it all ends up, were obviously deeper and better because of that, Mackanin said. Were going to have a lot of flexibility with that.Game notes Klentak called Tommy Joseph the teams everyday first baseman as of now. Tommy showed pretty well for himself all year long and were excited to see what he can do in more of a regular role this coming year, Klentak said. Joseph hit .257 with 21 homers and 47 RBI in 315 at-bats last season. ... Benoits deal was negotiated by agents Sam and Seth Levinson. ... ATLANTA -- The kickoff to the monthlong bowl season is more than just another game. T.J. Oshie Jersey .For that matter, its goes far beyond the two teams taking the field at noon Saturday. This is a chance to honor the legacy of all those historically black colleges and universities that played such a vital role in the growth of college football, giving African-Americans a place to play when they didnt have anywhere else to turn.Call this a well-deserved celebration, which is why there is no more aptly named postseason game than the Celebration Bowl.We wouldnt be able to do what were doing today, said John Grant, executive director of the game that will be played at the Georgia Dome, if not for what they did yesterday.Indeed, in the days of Jim Crow, HBCUs were a lifeline for African-Americans in the South.Unless they had the means and opportunity to continue their athletic careers far from home, outside the reach of segregation, blacks were limited to schools such as Grambling State and North Carolina Central, which will meet in this years Celebration Bowl.Grambling, in particular, built a powerhouse program under longtime coach Eddie Robinson, sending countless players to the NFL after they were denied the opportunity to attend whites-only universities such as Alabama and Clemson, which are part of this years College Football Playoff.Of course, those schools now rely heavily on Africa-American athletes. Much like the Negro Leagues in baseball, HBCU athletic programs were hit hard by the collapse of the color line. The best high school prospects are understandably drawn to the schools that offer the biggest stadiums, the best resources and training facilities, the opportunity to play on national television almost every Saturday, the clearest path to the NFL.Yet, its worth noting that the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, the league that North Carolina Central won to claim its spot in the Celebration Bowl opposite Southwestern Athletic Conference champion Grambling State, had three players go in the NFL draft this past spring.Grant wants to ensure the legacy of the HBCUs is preserved, while also highlighting all the important things theyre still doing today -- on and off the field.A game that will be nationally televised by ABC, as well as broadcast around the world on the Armed Forces Network, is a huge step in that direction. There are good players attending and participating at these universities, Grant said. The relevance of these programs is still very strong and viable. Its our intention to showcase that to the nation. As if to show how much this game means to the MEAC and the SWAC, those conferences passed up a chance to send their champions to the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. Instead, theyll play for whats billed as the HBCU national championship, and its hard to argue with the logic.A year ago, the inaugural Celebration Bowl attracted more than 35,000 fans to the Georgia Dome, as well as a television audience of some 14.6 million viewers, according to Grant. An athlete chooses a school to go to because he wants to be seen, he said. Now, we have two conferences that have exactly the same platform on national television as every other bowl team. Now, coaches can go out and recruit with the same type of tool that the other schools have, the tool of visibility. But this isnt about putting Grambling on a level playing field with Alabama. Thats never going to happen. The Celebration Bowl is focused on an even bigger goal -- ensuring the viability of HBCUs in a time of ever-shrinking government funding and declining enrollments.Grant said the teams that played in last years game, North Carolina A&T and Alcorn State, both received a boost in applications and admissions for the current school year.Having a viable athletic program that brings visibility to a school is one of the best student recruiting tools you can have, he said.Heres hoping the Celebration Bowl succeeds where two others have failed. The Pelican Bowl matched the MEAC and SWAC champions in the 1970s, but low attendance doomed that game. The Heritage Bowl came along in the 1990s, but it failed to survive largely because teams could choose to take part instead in the I-AA playoffs, which would leave a leagues second- or even third-best team for the bowl game. The players seem to realize whats at stake. This game is really important for the history of HBCUs, said Darius Spruill, a senior defensive tackle at North Carolina Central. Most people in the world arent really focused on HBCUs as much as they should be. I feel like this game brings much-needed exposure to the HBCU football history.Grant is focused just as much on the future. He wants this to be a game that stretches beyond the African-American community. He refers to HBCUs as some of the most diverse campuses in the country, with growing numbers of white and Hispanic students. For instance, North Carolina Centrals enrollment of 8,155 students is 12 percent white and nearly 2 percent Hispanic.Historically black colleges and universities contribute to the fabric of our nation, Grant said. These institutions are critical in ensuring this country is producing quality individuals and access to higher education for everyone, access that is not just at the highest levels. Now thats something worth celebrating.---Paul Newberry is a sports columnist for The Associated Press. Arnold Palmer was one of the best golfers of all time, but he was also one of the best marketers ever.In his lifetime, he earned almost $7 million on the golf course. Off it? He made at least 50 times that.Without Palmer -- and his agent Mark McCormack -- Michael Jordan, who often gets credit for being the father of modern-day sports marketing, never would have been Michael Jordan.Corporate America was ready to turn MJ into what he became because, 30 years earlier, Palmer already was doing it.It was because Palmer was so good -- his smile in print, his convincing tone in commercials -- that companies continued to align with athletes. The ultimate testament to Palmer being the best? When his deals were up, competitors would pay more. A deal with Qantas airlines turned into a new one for United. A deal with Holiday Inn morphed into a bigger deal with upscale Westin. A tractor deal with Bolens wasnt renewed because Ford Motor Co. paid him more to endorse its cars and didnt want him competing with its tractor division. In 1967, Palmers appearance fee was $7,500 and his deal with Coca-Cola was $15,000.Palmer deftly navigated the world of appearances and endorsements so well that as his rates went up -- and were pushed by McCormack, who founded the agency IMG -- the guys who followed him had a greater starting point. Palmer trademarked his name, and that famous umbrella logo, in 1968.His versatility landed him endorsements with companies in almost every sector. He endorsed Heinz ketchup on a steak, L&M filter cigarettes, Allstate insurance, Pennzoil motor oil, cardigans, dinner jackets and even Japanese robes. That confidence didnt exactly exist when Palmer signed a deal in 1959 with Wilson requiring that should he give up golf he would have to return the clubs Wilson gave him.Palmer didnt just pave the way and yield to todays stars. He never stopped marketing. In the past 16 years, the value of his name was reaffirmed, as he was able to capitalize on the iced tea/lemonade combination that bears his name.Palmers name had been attached to the concoction since the late 1960s, but through a partnership with Innovative Flavors and Arizona Beverage Co., he capitalized on the drink. In 2010, it hit $100 million in annual sales. In 2015, it hit $200 million, single-handedly eclipsing sales of the diet version of behemoth Snapple. In the coming hours and days, it will be impossible for many to downplay Palmers contribution on the golf course. GAINESVILLE, Fla. . -- Florida coach Jim McElwain feels like his teams been too up and down in two seasons.Significant victory one week, pedestrian performance the next.It hasnt happened too often, but McElwain has seen it enough to know he doesnt want it to become a trend. So he challenged his players this week to show theyve grown, ready to better handle success. The 13th-ranked Gators (8-2), coming off a 16-10 upset at LSU that clinched a second straight Eastern Division title for Florida, play at No. 15 Florida State (8-3) on Saturday night. Its a rivalry game with a revenge subplot -- the Seminoles have won three in a row, including a 27-2 drubbing in Gainesville last year -- but its also a chance for the Gators to prove theyve changed their inconsistent ways.Lets call it the way it is, McElwain said. Im not sure weve had a decent win like this was and actually followed it up, you know what I mean? But whether you go win the game or not, its about the effort and the emotion and the way you attack the week of preparation. But thats part of the growth of an organization and a program. So heres another opportunity for us to learn, and weve got a lot of good, young players thatre playing their tails off. Now, can they keep putting it back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back? The sign of consistency is what helps you be successful in whatever youre doing.McElwain didnt offer any examples of his teams past shortcomings. He didnt have to. Theyre obvious.Florida beat Georgia in a rivalry game late last month and then got shellacked the following week at Arkansas, a 31-10 loss that had outsiders wondering if the Gators would win again this season.Last season, the Gators hammered the Bulldogs and then kicked a late field goal the following week to edge Vanderbilt 9-7 and clinch the East. They rebounded the next week at South Carolina, then needed overtime to put away Florida Atlantic at home.So its easy to see why McElwain would be leery with the Seminoles up next .We got to stay hungry, quarterback Austin Appleby said. You cant exhale at all. We got an unbelievable opponent in front of us. We got everything, our goals that we set in the beginning of the season are right there for us. Our destiny is in our hands. We win and we can accomplish anything we want. We know that.We found a win, but we still have a lot of things that we need to build on. As long as we keep bringing that attitude, keep bringing that great focus, we will be OK.The Gators still have an outside shot at making the College Football Playoff. Of course, they need to beat FSU on Saturday and top-ranked Alabama in the SEC title game just to make it a possibility.Thats no easy task. But if they find some consistency week to week, and continue playing great defense and turnover-free football, McElwain believes anything is possible for this team. You learn from failure, all of us do, he said. We learned that youve got to come to play. We arent that good to be able to just show up, and I think weve done that the last couple weeks. I think weve showed up. Youve ... If you dwell on it, its going to be there forever instead of, `What did I learn from it?I thought our guys learned some things from it. And its no different than probably when you were growing up and your mom had a kettle on the stove and you wondered what that red burner was and you probably went over there and touched it and realized, `You know what, that didnt feel very good. So lets not do that again. Those are the lessons we learn in whatever we do.---More AP college football: and . Capitals head coach Adam Oates said Ovechkin was injured in the first period against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday and clarified it was not a head injury. . It was the kind of score that might make everyone else wonder which course he was playing. Except that Graeme McDowell saw the whole thing. Crouched behind the 10th green at Sheshan International, McDowell looked over at the powerful American and said, "Ive probably seen 18 of the best drives Ive seen all year in the last two days. . -- Stanford squashed Oregons national championship hopes again, schooling the Ducks in power football. LONDON -- To get back to .500 and in contention for the AFC North lead, the Cincinnati Bengals need to win the strangest home game in their history, 3,955 miles (6,365 kilometers) from Paul Brown Stadium.Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says jet lag from Fridays red-eye flight to London wont be an issue when Cincinnati (3-4) takes on the Washington Redskins (4-3) at Wembley Stadium in London. He says the key question is whether the Bengals, red hot this time a year ago, can beat a team with a winning record for the first time this season. He counseled his players to hit the hay as soon as possible on the eight-hour flight. The focus was on ... the ability to shut down and go to sleep after dinner on the plane, and wake up and its Friday morning, Lewis said after the Bengals first groggy training session on a rugby field in north London. That advice was easier said than done for left tackle Andrew Whitworth, the Bengals biggest player at 6 foot 7 and 330 pounds. Before boarding Thursday nights flight, hed just been cleared to play after suffering a concussion last Sunday in the Bengals 31-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns -- and couldnt get his mind or body into the idea of early shuteye. A first-class fully reclining seat, it turns out, doesnt fit a Whitworth. They were made for people a little shorter than me. Id have to bend into a fetal position to fit. Id have to fly on the NBA plane probably to be comfortable, Whitworth said. I manned it up and am still working on Wednesday nights sleep. Im not an on-command sleeper. Ive got four little kids, so Im not used to sleeping a whole lot anyways. The Bengals have reached the playoffs each of the last five seasons but lost in the first round each time, the worst such streak in NFL history. Despite returning the core of their team, theyve struggled to match their 2015 start, which saw them reach 8-0 and cruise to the AFC North championship. The team has planned a sightseeing mission to Tower Bridge on the River Thames on Friday night, when family and friends join players for a meal with a spectacular view. That event, too, is designed to ensure players dont nod off too soon.Ive got no idea wwhat time it is. The whole days been a blur, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick said. But Im sure the Redskins are feeling exactly the same way. Both sides need to wake up for Sunday.HEALTHY BENGALS: Cincinnati enters Sundays game at full strength on both sides of the ball. The biggest change could be felt in the passing game, where tight end Tyler Eifert is expected to be featured after seeing limited action last week versus Cleveland in his return from offseason ankle surgery. Eifert has been a favored goal-line target of quarterback Andy Dalton, catching a team-record 13 touchdowns last year.Eiferts return could boost a passing attack that has struggled to find the end zone despite boasting top-flight targets in the conferences receiving yardage leader, A.J. Green, and New England import Brandon LaFell .Obviously Tyler is such a big part of our offense, and having him back and ready to go is big for us, his ability to make plays, Dalton said. If hes the guy this week, itd be great.Washingtons roster, by contrast, looks like a MASH unit, with key starters listed as questionable going into their own trans-Atlantic flight. Among those Redskins nursing injuries and uncertain to play Sunday are running back Matt Jones, cornerback Josh Gordon and left tackle Trent Williams.Game notes The Bengals held their first training session on English soil without pads or helmets on the artificial turf field at Saracens Rugby Football Club in north London. Several dozen fans and curiosity-seekers, mostly local children who have the week off from school, cheered from the stands as the teams punting unit worked out under dull gray skies. ... The majority of Bengals starters got to lie down in first-class seats on their chartered Virgin flight from Cincinnati as team officials advised everyone to sleep as much as possible while losing five hours on the clock. But those further down the depth chart had to make do with snoozing across three seats in coach.---AP NFL websites: and Cheap Soccer Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Hockey Jerseys Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Nike MLB Jerseys China Wholesale Baseball Jerseys China Wholesale College Jerseys Cheap Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Near Me Cheap Jerseys Online Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Authentic Cheap Soccer Jerseys China Cheap NCAA Jerseys Authentic Cheap Nike NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Authentic MLB Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Throwback Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins have been outscored 14-4 during their current three-game losing streak. Sergio Busquets Jersey . Help might be on the way just in time for the Bruins to start a difficult road trip against three Atlantic Division rivals.Goaltender Tuukka Rask practiced with the Bruins on Friday and should be available to at least serve as the backup against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Rask hadnt been on the ice with his teammates because of an undisclosed injury since he made 28 saves in a 2-1 win against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 20.Rask isnt completely healed so he and the Bruins are trying to strike a balance between being able to play and not risking further damage.Thats the thing were kind of talking about, we talked about last week, risk/reward, what it is and how should be proceed, Rask said. It feels good enough now that I can comfortably practice.Coach Claude Julien saw enough Friday to have confidence Rask could dress against the Red Wings and be in consideration to start. The Bruins were expected to send one of their other goaltenders, Zane McIntyre or Malcolm Subban, to Providence of the American Hockey League before departing for Detroit. If hes great, and he practiced well today, and if hes good (Saturday) and theres no issues there (he can play), Julien said. He looked good to me today. So well make that decision but I think weve gone this far, were going to make sure we make the right decision, not the reckless one.Rask started the season 3-0-0 for the first time in his career and had a 1.68 goals-against average and .947 save percentage. But he was hardly healthy. The injury began to bother him on opening night in a 6-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 13. Two nights later he didnt start against the Toronto Maple Leafs.Rask said he felt fine when made 34 saves in a 4-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 17. But he had to battle through the injury against the Devils three nights later. The Jersey game was the toughest one. It wasnt too tough. Its just nagging, painful sometimes, but I didnt feel like I hurt anything, he said. With forward David Backes still out after elbow surgery and forward David Pastrnak suspended two games for an illegal check to the head in the 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Wednesday, the Bruins needed some positive news before leaving for their road trip, which continues against the Florida Panthers (Tuesday) and Tampa Bay Lightning (Thursday) after Detroit.Im excited to get back out on the road with this team, Julien said. You control what you can and we can control our enthusiasm, our commitment and everything else. And then go about our business that way and I think thats all we can do right now. Aleix Vidal Jersey . Defenceman Yannick Weber scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Canucks breathed a sigh of relief with a 2-1 win on Saturday night. Gerard Pique Jersey . The Nashville Predators were glad their captain was still on their side. Weber had a goal and two assists, and Roman Josi scored the shootout winner to lift the Predators to a 4-3 win over the Flyers on Thursday night. . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season.Dundee made it back-to-back wins as they climbed off the base of the Scottish Premiership table, while Celtic eased to three more points on Saturday. There was also late drama at Hearts with St Johnstone denied the chance to leap-frog their hosts into third spot when Callum Paterson nodded in the equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Cammy Kerr helped Dundee rise off the bottom of the Premiership table Leaders Celtic struggled early on but eventually made light work of securing the points against Inverness thanks to second-half goals from Scott Sinclair, Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic in a 3-0 win. Brendan Rodgers men have opened up a 10-point gap, with a game in hand, on second-placed Aberdeen who won Friday nights game 2-1 at Partick Thistle.Ross County will not have enjoyed the days proceedings as their preparation for Sundays visit by Rangers, live on Sky Sports 1, will have been tempered by seeing their Premiership position change to bottom spot. Football Score Centre app Sky Sports customers can watch Premier League goals and highlights every weekend at no extra cost. But it was more jubilation for Dundee who having started the day staring up at all their Prremiership rivals, hoisted themselves above County with a lively 2-0 victory over Motherwell. Samuel Umtiti Jersey. raig Wighton produced a stunning show for the hosts, but there was agony for Well, who thought they had scored when Dundee keeper David Mitchell collided with a post while holding Scott McDonalds over-hit cross.Wighton set up Cammy Kerr for the opener just before the interval and Marcus Haber slotted in striker Wightons cut-back with 10 minutes left to make the points safe. Hearts fumed over St Johnstones second goal but the smiles returned three minutes from the end St Johnstone made it six games unbeaten against Hearts. Tynecastle witnessed a four-goal thriller as the hosts took the lead through Prince Buabens header, only for Danny Swanson to level before half-time.Chris Kane came off the bench to poke in what looked like a winner on 85 minutes, but there was late relief for Hearts thanks to Patterson nodding in Don Cowies corner to salvage a point.Kilmarnock and Hamilton Academical could not be separated in a goalless draw. FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. Stitched Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys . -- Blake Kemp threw touchdown passes to four different receivers in the first half and Corbin Jountti ran for two in the second and Northern Arizona defeated Montana 45-34 on Saturday night.Kemp, who was 11 of 19 for 200 yards in the first half, connected with William Morehand for 74 yards and Delshawn McClellon for 10 on the first two possessions for the Lumberjacks (4-4, 3-2 Big Sky). And spoken is defined as one calling the other to inquire, no more, no less. . -- Quarterback Will Finch threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns, and Yannick Harou rushed in two scores as the No. NEW YORK -- Darwin Barneys soft single fell into right field and Scott Feldman took off running, then rounded second and -- wait, was he trying for third? "I didnt know what I was doing, actually," the Cubs pitcher said. "I kind of just decided to go I guess." Like just about everything else Feldman did against the Mets on Saturday it worked out. Feldman allowed two hits in seven innings and the Cubs beat the Mets 5-2. Feldman hit a two-run single in the fourth, setting up his slow-motion scamper on the bases. He rounded second and headed for third, drawing a throw that seemed as if it had a chance to get him. Of course, it didnt. He slid in -- head first -- and beat the throw and David Wrights tag. "Dont want to make the third out at third, so I just tried to do everything I could to just sneak my hand in there," Feldman said. Said Wright: "I think I got him pretty good on the arm with my spike." Feldman (6-5) got it done on the mound, too. He struck out six and Starlin Castro hit a two-run double to left in the Cubs three-run eighth and Kevin Gregg got the last three outs for his ninth straight save. The Cubs stranded 10 runners in the first seven innings before breaking it open in the eighth. Scott Rice allowed a hit and a walk around a sacrifice, then Brandon Lyon came on and gave up a single to load the bases before walking Cody Ransom to force in a run. Castro then had his hit, which could have scored three runs if it hadnt bounced over the wall. "I think were just getting better swings in fastball counts, in hitters counts," Cubs manager Dale Sveum said. "Were taking advantage of situations now that we havent for a long piece of the season." Chicago beat the Mets for the second day in a row, after losing five of seven before getting to Queens. The Mets got a run back in the bottom of the eighth on Jordany Valdespins single off Carlos Villanueva, but Wright struck out with runners on second and third and fans streamed for the exits. "In the eighth inning, there was silence in the dugout and the feeling was like Here we go again," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "Losing is as big of a habit as winning." Jonathon Niese (3-6) left with two outs in the fifth inning and a man on second. He finished having allowed two runs, six hits and four walks with five strikeouts. He is 0-2 in his past four starts. "Niese battled without having his best stufff," Collins said. Stitched Seattle Seahawks Jerseys. "He battled into the sixth inning and didnt want to come out and thats what I want. Guys who dont want to come out of the game." Before his double bounced over the wall, Castro had stranded five runners and struck out three times, including with the bases loaded to end the fourth. In the fourth inning, Wright followed Daniel Murphys leadoff double with a double of his own to cut the lead to 2-1, but he was stranded at second. The Mets hit three long fly balls in the sixth, but all were caught pretty much right at the wall. "It seemed like they were running down balls all day in the outfield for me," Feldman said. Feldman has bounced back nicely after a rough final season in Texas, where he spent the first eight seasons of his career. He only has one outing shorter than six innings this year after a rocky April, and has become a fixture in the Cubs rotation. Which explains why Sveum was cringing as he saw the big right-hander come around second base. "Why are you going to third? Youre a starting pitcher and you have a bad knee, thats what I was thinking as he was running to third," Sveum said. He pointed out later that it was for the best that Feldman, who has an old knee injury, slid head first. Feldman had something else on his mind later -- when was the last time he did a headfirst slide? "Ha! Man, probably college," Feldman said. "Still had pretty good form though, right?" NOTES: Mets GM Sandy Alderson told season ticket holders Saturday morning that "over the next six months or so, we will be in a position make some significant acquisitions, whether its through free agency or a trade. ... The Mets called up right-hander Carlos Torres from Las Vegas and optioned right-hander Greg Burke to the Triple-A team. To make room on the 40-man roster, the club designated right-hander Collin McHugh for assignment. Torres was 6-3 with a 3.89 ERA in 12 starts for Las Vegas. ... Ransom had two singles, two walks and reached on an error his first five times up before striking out in the ninth. ... The Cubs were 3 for 18 with runners in scoring position. ... Wright tied his career best by reaching in nine straight plate appearances, but his deep drive to left in the sixth inning was caught at the wall. ... Ever since the Gennady Golovkin-Kell Brook match was announced, pundits and fans alike have been figuratively digging the Englishmans grave. Marcus Kruger Jersey . A suicide mission, you say? Well, not quite but GGG, the unified middleweight titleholder, has been installed a prohibitive 8-1 favorite to hand Brook, who owns a welterweight belt, his first defeat, if not his head.Fans on the western side of the Atlantic Ocean have done little but ridicule the match from the get-go. They are cock-sure the boxer who calls himself The Special One isnt anywhere near special enough to beat Golovkin. His destiny is preordained. Hes going to be victim No. 36. No doubt about it.But dont expect Brooks ring walk to be accompanied by that old Tom Waits song, Whistling Past the Graveyard. The 30-year-old fighter from Sheffield sounded supremely confident fight week and told the media that he felt like a monster. Lets just hope he wasnt talking about the Cookie Monster. Not everyone in the U.K. is as convinced as Kell that he can pull a Randolph Turpin. The result of a Sky Sports poll favored Golovkin by a surprisingly narrow 54 to 46 percent margin. Nevertheless, you cant help but wonder how many Brook votes were of the wishful-thinking variety.Understandably, the foremost reason Brook is an overwhelming underdog is that hes going up against a man many considered todays finest fighter, pound-for-pound. Theres also been a lot of gibberish about the fact that Brook is a welterweight titleholder challenging a middleweight titlist.Rather than another insurmountable obstruction, however, the history of such matchups is one area where Brook can take solace. Some welterweights have succeeded and some have failed, so lets take a look at some examples and see what light history can shed on Saturdays showdown at Londons sold-out O2 Arena (HBO, 5:30 pm ET).Three who failedCeferino Garcia Draw 10 Henry Armstrong Los Angeles, May 1, 1940The Setup: Armstrong entered the ring at Gilmore Stadium as the reigning world champion of the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions, a unique feat that has never been duplicated. After Joe Louis, he was the biggest star in boxing. He had successfully defended the welterweight title with a competitive decision over Garcia two years prior, and when the Filipino won a version of the middleweight title, Armstrong set his sites on becoming the simultaneous ruler of four weight classes. The Fight: Homicide Hank fought as he always did, applying relentless pressure, head on his opponents chest, digging away like a coal miner. Garcia, who held an 11?-pound advantage, tried to match Armstrong punch-for-punch on the inside but was much more successful when he took a step back and flashed his famous bolo punch. Referee George Blake, the lone arbitrator, called it a draw. The aftermath: The majority of observers thought Armstrong was robbed. The Associated Press, for example, had it 6-2-2 in the challengers favor. Referee Blake, who never worked another fight, raised additional suspicion when he left the ring immediately after the final bell without rendering a decision. How bizarre is that? Later he claimed hed deducted points from Armstrong for low blows and butting, but the rumor persists that Blake also muttered something about Armstrong having enough titles already. What does this fight tell us about Golovkin-Brook?: The whole affair had a weird vibe -- 10 rounds instead of 15, Blakes behavior, the A-side losing a hotly debated decision. If nothing else it reminds us that boxing is an anarchistic endeavor and anything can happen. And dont forget Golovkin-Brook is taking place on Kells home pitch.Gene Fullmer KO 10 Benny Kid Paret Las Vegas, December 9, 1961The Setup: Three months after regaining the welterweight championship from Emile Griffith in a demanding contest, Paret challenged Fullmer, who was making his seventh defense of the middleweight title. It proved a dreadful mistake. The Fight: As was his wont, Paret gave it everything he had but was no match for Fullmer, one of the toughest and roughest middleweights in history and frequently fought like a billy goat. A near-exhausted Paret was floored three times in the 10th round, the final knockdown leaving the Cuban flat on his back for the full count. Unknown to the general public at the time, Benny had been suffering debilitating headaches for some time and, in all likelihood, entered the fight already suffering CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy). The Aftermath: The Fullmer match eerily foreshadowed the tragedy that took place in Parets next fight, when he was battered into a coma in the 12th round of a rubber match with Griffith and never regained consciousness. That was just three months after absorbing a savage beating from Fullmer. Benny was only 25 at the time. What does this fight tell us about Golovkin-Brook?: While boxers put their lives on the line every time they step into the ring, Brook has never taken the sort of pummeling that Paret did in many of his fights. It is, therefore, highly unlikely that Brook would suffer a similar fate. Even so, the risk remains, as we are reminded far too often.Carlos Monzon TKO6 Jose Napoles Puteaux, France, March 9, 1974The Setup: Napoles and Monzon had dominated their respective division for a number of years and by the time they fought their Hall of Fame credentials had already been established. It looked like a great match on paper but quickly turned into rout. The Fight: Napoles simply could not get past Monzons jab and was an easy target for the defending champions chillingly accurate right hand. After taking a steady thrashing for six rounds, the bleeding and dizzy Mexico-based Cuban didnt answer the bell of the seventh. Nobody called him a quitter. The Aftermath: They carried on almost as if nothing had happened. Both continued to enjoy success in their respective weight classes. Napoles called it a career after losing the title to John H. Stracey in December 1975, while Monzon retired still champion following his June 1977 victory against Rodrigo Valdes. What does this fight tell us about Golovkin-Brook?: This was one of the times when size really made a huge difference. Standing 511? with a 76 wingspan, Monzon had a four-inch height and reach advantage. Moreover, at 159? pounds, he was six pounds heavier than his challenger. Brook, however, has reinvented his physique and is looking bigger and fitter than ever. Hes only 1? inches shorter than GGG and if he loses, it wont be because Golovkin is the bigger man.Three who succeededSugar Ray Robinson TKO 13 Jake LaMotta Chicago, June 5, 1951The Setup: Robinson won the welterweight title that had been vacated by Marty Servo (who Ray had already defeated twice in non-title bouts) by outpointing Tommy Bell on Dec. 20, 1946. By August 1950, his sweetness has made five successful defenses but was also fighting middleweights and couldnt wait to get reigning champion LaMotta back in the ring. After all, hed already beaten him in four out of five non-title bouts and was overdue for a title shot. The Fight: Thanks to his Bronx Bull nickname, many contemporary fans think that LaMotta was a one-dimensional brawler. But most of the raging bull stuff took place outside of the ring. In his own way Jake was also a good boxer and in several of the early rounds actually outjabbed Sugar Ray. But when Robinson unloaded a devastating flurry in the 13th round, referee Frank Sikora stopped the fight with a blood-smeared LaMotta swaying on the ropes, out on his feet. The Aftermath: Although Robinson was arguably at his best at welterweight, his most famous fights were at middleweight. He lost and regained the 160-pound championship four more times before retiring in November 1965, his status as the greatest fighter of all time secure long before then. What does this fight tell us about Golovkin-Brook?: Its a prime example of a welterweight champ successfully moving up and claiming the middleweight title from a strong, determined champion.Carmen Basilio W 15 Sugar Ray Robinson Bronx, New York, September 23, 1957The Setup: Basilio had stopped Tony DeMarco in June 1955 to annex the welterweight title and start an incredible streak of being in The Rings Fight of The Year four years running. The second fight in that series was his split decision victory against Robinson. The Fight: The 153?-pound Basilio took the fights to the 160-pound Robinson throughout much of the bout, and although he was repeatedly speared by left jabs as he worked his way inside, he kept coming. At times, especially in the later round, it looked like Sugar Ray might wilt under Basilios unyielding attack. But he always rallied back, and there was little to choose between them at the final bell. The Aftermath: Robinson won the rematch the following year in another sensational Fight of the Year. The decision was split again, and when you get right down to it both fights could have gone either way. What does this fight tell us about Golovkin-Brook?: Neither Basilio nor Robinson was diminished by their loss, and if Golovkin-Brook is anywhere near as good as the Basilio-Robinson wars, even the loser will cover himself in glory.Emile Griffith W 15 Dick Tiger New York City, April 25, 1966The Setup: Griffith was a three-time welterweight champion by the time he challenged Tiger for middleweight supremacy, a classic matchup between two iconic boxers now enshrined in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The Fight: Even though he only weighed 150? pounds, Griffith edged Tiger to take the title in a rather uneventful affair in which the fighters styles nullified each other. Not everybody agreed with the decision but it wasnt the sort of verdict that caused a public outcry. Compared to all the stirring fights Tiger and Griffith gave us, it was a dud.The Aftermath: Griffith took the commission to court in a vain attempt to keep both titles. Apparently the boxing establishment wasnt as smart as it was back in Armstrongs day, so Emile was forced to choose, and decided to keep the middleweight belt. Tiger hardly skipped a beat and upset Jose Torres to win the light heavyweight championship in his very next fight. What does this fight tell us about Golovkin-Brook?: Among the very best practitioners of the Noble Art, style is often the deciding factor and if youre good enough a loss doesnt necessarily mean all that much in the long run. What will all of this mean Saturday? Maybe nothing. The cover headline on the Boxing News preview issue was Mission Impossible, and thats coming from the venerable British weekly (since 1909), which tends to favor U.K. fighters whenever feasible. But if Golovkin wins as expected it wont be because he grew into a middleweight before Brook did. It will be because hes a better fighter. Custom Carolina Hurricanes Jerseys . LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Nebraska football player who took a knee during the national anthem before the game at Northwestern on Saturday night said he and his family have received racially charged criticism on social media, and said the responses show why the protest is necessary.Senior linebacker Michael Rose-Ivey read an impassioned statement during the Cornhuskers weekly media availability on Monday. Freshmen Mohamed Barry and DaiShon Neal joined Rose-Ivey on one knee in protest of racial injustice and police brutality.Former high school classmates, friends, peers and some Huskers fans swiftly criticized the group on Facebook and Twitter, Rose-Ivey said. Some believe DaiShon, Mohamed and myself should be kicked off the team or suspended, while some said we deserved to be lynched or shot just like the other black people who have died recently. Others believe we should be hung before the anthem before the next game. These are actual statements we receive from fans, he said.Rose-Ivey said the players were joining in solidarity with San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick and other professional and amateur athletes who are kneeling or otherwise protesting unfair treatment of blacks in the United States. The opportunity to use the platform was rare for the Huskers. Like many college teams, they are in the locker rooms during the anthem at Nebraska home games. At Northwestern, players are traditionally on the field. Rose-Ivey said he told coach Mike Riley and his team about his plans ahead of the game, and Riley supported him.As the group took a knee, four of his teammates spontaneously helped the Northwestern band and others hold a giant U.S. flag over the field when there werent enough people to keep it up. Zack Darlington said he and fellow sophomore Nick Gates, junior Drew Brown and senior Sam Hahn were together on the sideline when they noticed the flag drooping.I dont think any of us who held the flag did it to go out there and overshadow anyone, Darlington said. We were just standing there, and it looked like it was going to fall. I got neervous. Scott Darling Jersey. I didnt want it to touch the ground. I know how sacred our flag is, so I wasnt going to let it touch the ground -- not on my watch.Darlington said he didnt disagree with the cause, just the method of protest.Everyone can see there are a lot of African-American people being killed today, which makes people nervous, Darlington said. There are other ways possibly to protest that wouldnt disrespect our veterans and military and our country. I dont think they did it in spite of the military or of our veterans. I know they love this country. Its something they want to bring attention to, and I think rightly so.Riley said with 140 players on the roster there will be a wide range of opinions about the anthem protest. We have guys from all kinds of backgrounds, all parts of the country, we have a real nice -- and I love it -- melting pot, Riley said. And then you also have a bunch of kids who are in college, where you gain a whole new awareness of the world as you go, and you start to form those opinions that are going to make you who you are for the rest of your life.Rose-Ivey quoted Martin Luther King, referenced other civil rights champions and said it would be wrong for him to not speak out with his voice or by kneeling during the anthem. We did it understanding the implications of these actions, Rose-Ivey said, but what we didnt expect was the enormous amount of hateful, racially motivated comments we received from friends, peers, fans and members of the media about the method of protest. He said the reactions further underscore the need for this protest and give us just a small glimpse into the persistent problem of race, racism in this country and the divisive mentality of some Americans.Rose-Ivey said a number of people also sent him messages of support. That feels good, because it seems like the negative outweighs the positive, he said.---On the Net:AP college football website: Cheap Soccer Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Hockey Jerseys Nike NFL Jerseys China Cheap Nike MLB Jerseys China Wholesale Baseball Jerseys China Wholesale College Jerseys Cheap Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Near Me Cheap Jerseys Online Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Authentic Cheap Soccer Jerseys China Cheap NCAA Jerseys Authentic Cheap Nike NBA Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Authentic MLB Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Throwback Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

STANFORD, Calif. Stitched Atlanta Falcons Jerseys . -- Dorian Pickens scored 17 points and Stanford beat Colorado State 56-49 on Sunday in a matchup of two teams still trying to figure out how to consistently score. They certainly did a great job playing a very compact defense, but we also made some mistakes, said first-year Stanford coach Jerod Haase, whose team improved to 4-0 but had its lowest point total of the season. We didnt capitalize on certain things. We need to make a few more open shots. The biggest thing is we need to get the ball inside.Pickens made 4 of 6 from 3-point range, but was the only player on either team to shoot with success from the perimeter. Pickens teammates were a combined 1-for-12 and the Rams were 5-for-18.Stanford, which won its third home game in a span of six days, also got 11 points from Reid Travis. But the junior forward, who averaged 21.7 points through the Cardinals first three games, managed just five shot attempts against a collapsing CSU defense. They made it tough for us to get the ball inside, Stanford point guard Robert Cartwright said. Its a great opportunity for us to grow. We havent really been challenged this way. We have to find ways to win and we did that. The Rams (2-1) hadnt been held under 50 points since a 56-43 loss to San Diego State on March 13, 2015.Colorado State coach Larry Eustachy played a young lineup that included as many as three sophomores and a freshman at times. We expect this is going to be a time when were going to learn. Its as good a defensive team as Ive had in a long time for such young kids, Eustachy said. They werent more physical than us. I thought we tried really hard. You just cant overcome 20 turnovers.Prentiss Nixon led Colorado State with 15 points. Braden Koelliker, who averaged 14.5 points in the teams first two games, was scoreless. We were close against a very good Stanford team, Eustachy said. Im not sure our guys believed we could beat them, and I thought we could. Well get it right.BIG PICTUREStanford: The Cardinal is 4-0 under first-year head coach Jerod Haase, although early success is not necessarily indicative of long-terms results. Previous coach Johnny Dawkins started 10-0 in his debut season of 2008-09 (including a win over Colorado State) before the Cardinal lost 90-60 to Arizona State in its Pac-10 opener. Stanford wound up finishing ninth in the conference.Colorado State: The Rams need to shoot the ball better. They converted just 38 percent from the field -- including 6 for 33 from the 3-point arc -- in their first two games. They were worse against a stronger Stanford defense, making just 29.8 percent (14-for-47).UP NEXT:Stanford, having concluded a three-game homestand, treks east to play in the AdvoCare Invitational in Orlando, Florida, where it opens the three-day event against Miami (3-0), which averaged nearly 87 points in three easy victories.Colorado State returns home for a Wednesday night matchup vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore (0-4), which comes off a 116-79 loss at Wichita State and will play its fourth game in five on the road. Recently-retired Assistant Chief Constable Andy Ward will lead the independent review into UK Anti-Dopings handling of the Dr Mark Bonar affair. . Ward, who left his post with Merseyside Police in January, has been appointed by the UKAD Board, with the agreement of Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport John Whittingdale. The inquiry has been set up following allegations in The Sunday Times last weekend that Bonar prescribed performance-enhancing drugs to 150 athletes. Culture, Media and Sport Secretary John Whittingdale has backed Wards appointment The newspaper claimed UKAD was given information about the doctors alleged doping activities two years ago but failed to take action.UKAD chairman David Kenworthy said on the organisations website: Andy Ward is a strong choice to carry out the review into UK Anti-Dopings handling of intelligence in relation to Dr Mark Bonar. He is independent of sport so will bring a fresh and uninfluenced perspective, whilst his extensive experience of intelligence handling will be critical to the review.Andys role will be to examine how the information supplied by the sportsperson was handled and whether proper procedures were followed. Andy will also be asked to make any recommendations to improve processes in the future. As a publicly-funded body, it is correct that UKAD be held to account for any actions it takes and the team is very supportive of, and will fully cooperate with, the review process. UKAD chief Nicole Sapstead says the organisation welcome the investigation The storm caused by the allegations has put pressure on UKADs chief executive Nicole Sapstead but she insists her organisation welcomes the investigation.UK Anti-Doping is extremely concerned by the allegations made in the Sunday Times, Sapstead said in an interview with Sky News.We will be investigating fully those allegations but we are now the subject of an independent review and it would be deeply inappropriate for me to say anything further at this time. . DALLAS -- Frustrated through 60 minutes by Dallas goalie Antti Niemi, the New Jersey Devils needed just 44 seconds of overtime to get their fifth straight win.The Stars controlled the puck off the faceoff in the extra period, but turned it over, and the Devils Adam Henrique then beat Niemi to give New Jersey a 2-1 victory. You play 60 minutes, good game, and weve got to be happy having a 1-1 tie, Niemi said. It just gives it all away.Henrique and Kyle Palmieri skated in on Niemi on a 2-on-1. Palmieri sent a pass from the right side to Henrique at the edge of the left faceoff circle, and Henrique put the puck into the lower left portion of the net.To create a turnover, you got to be patient in overtime sometimes, and you just capitalize on that, Henrique said. Just try to get to the net on the 2-on-1. (Palmieri) made a great play, patient around their D-man. Just bury it once I had the chance.Dallas coach Lindy Ruff saw his team fall to 0-5 in overtime this season, and 0-9 going back to last season. We just made another ill-advised decision to put a puck in the middle. We had good possession. We should have been changing by that time, and the result was we made a bad pass, and we followed a bad pass and let guys get by us.Niemi made 31 saves, including all 16 New Jersey shots on goal in the scoreless second period. The Devils are 4-3 in overtime this season. The game had been tied since Patrick Eaves goal for Dallas at 10:33 of the first period.Damon Severson scored at 7:40 of the first for New Jersey, and Cory Schneider stopped 23 shots.Devils coach John Hynes was pleased to see Henrique and Palmieri come up with the game winner.I thought that they were big factors in the game tonight, Hynes said. Its good to see them get rewarded for some of the hard work theyve put in and havent got rewarded for. But I thought collectively, aas a team tonight, we didnt have any passengers tonight. You look throughout the lineup, everyone competed.Severson scored on a 4-on-2 break after Dallas John Klingberg lost the puck at New Jerseys blue line. PA Parenteau passed from the left side to Severson in the slot, and he put a wrist shot into the upper part of the net.Eaves tied it on a 2-on-1 break as Antoine Roussel passed from the left faceoff circle to Eaves on the right and Eaves beat Schneider with a wrist shot.Dallas had a good scoring chance midway through the third period but Lauri Korpikoskis shot from the top of the left circle went off Schneiders left foot, between his legs and just wide of the left goalpost. Two minutes later, New Jerseys Nick Lappin sent an in-close backhand wide right.Game notes Devils LW Taylor Hall, their scoring leader through 14 games, did not play because of a lower-body injury. ... LEXINGTON, Ky. Niklas Hjalmarsson Jersey . -- As top-ranked Kentucky develops in small steps, the on-court relationship between Malik Monk and DeAaron is clearly off and running.Monk scored 23 points and Fox had 16 points and 11 assists to propel the Wildcats to a 101-70 rout of Cleveland State on Wednesday that was impressive on several fronts. With leading scorer Isaiah Briscoe sidelined by a back injury, the freshman duo picked up the slack and did it quickly, helping Kentucky (5-0) roll to a 16-2 lead that was never threatened in its first game this season as the nations No. 1 team. They combined for 31 first-half points alone, with 19 from Monk, whose 4-for-4 start from long range and 8-of-12 shooting overall helped him match his career scoring best set last week against Michigan State. We played well, Fox said. Without Isaiah today, people stepped up and we ended up getting the win. They combined for 15 assists -- including 10 in the first half -- and seven rebounds with two steals apiece, looking to each other when Kentucky was in transition.Which was often. We have great chemistry, Monk said. Although we never played that much together, we know where we are on the court. Thats another thing that makes this team so close.Their chemistry was evident in the first half when Monk stole the ball near midcourt and drove toward the basket before bouncing the ball off the glass perfectly back to the trailing Fox, whose thunderous dunk brought a roar from the crowd of 22,441 at Rupp Arena. It was just a great pass, Fox said. In transition if a guy plays you, you give it up and thats what happened. The guy played him, he threw it off the glass and I dunked it.Bam Adebayo added 14 points and seven rebounds while Mychal Mulder matched a career high with 13 for Kentucky, which shot a season-best 52 percent from the field and broke 100 points for the first time this season. Wenyen Gabriel had 10 points and 10 rebounds as Kentucky won the second of three games in the Bluegrass Showcase.Rob Edwards 28 points on 12-of-21 shooting led Cleveland State (1-3), which couldnt keep up with the Wildcats on either end. The Vikings committed 19 turnovers, shot 39 percent and were outrebounded 47-36.Were trying to do everything from the outside and thats hard against a team like Kentucky because their guards really come after you and play defense, Vikings coach Gary Waters said. And you know what the crazy part about it is? They enjoy doing it.THE BIG PICTURECleveland State: The Vikings appeared headed for a big improvement over their 38 percent shooting effort against UT Martin, with 48 percent accuracy in the first half. But they made just 11 of 35 shots after the break and finished close to their season low. Bobby Word added 14 points.Kentucky: Senior guard Dominique Hawkins started in Briscoes place along with Fox, Monk, Adebayo and Derek Willis (seven points, five rebounds), and that lineup was energetic from the start. Briscoes absence allowed coach John Calipari to use several combinations that were encouraging, though he quickly noted that its still early.I told them after the game, theyre a November team, he said. I dont want my team in November to look like its January or February. ... Its an influence in football and a big part of the game. RIO DE JANEIRO -- Kristin Armstrong had just put together another golden effort in an Olympic time trial, this time slicing through driving wind and rain, when her 5-year-old son approached her at the finish.Mama, Lucas asked, why are you crying? You won!Once again. The American cyclist made it three consecutive gold medals on Wednesday, the ageless wonder conquering a brutal course at the Rio Games. Her time of 44 minutes, 26.42 seconds topped reigning bronze medalist Olga Zabelinskaya of Russia by the slimmest of margins: 5.55 seconds. As for the tears, well, thats a great question from a 5-year-old, Armstrong said with her now-familiar grin. Thats what we do, we cry when were happy.Im going to have to explain that one to him a little later.Zabelinskaya earned silver just days after she was cleared to compete by the Court of Arbitration, while Dutch rider Anna van der Breggen added bronze to her gold from the road race.Dutch rider Ellen van Dijk slid off the wet road along the southern coast of Rio de Janeiro and finished fourth, the miscue likely costing her a medal. Road race bronze medalist Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy was fifth and world champion Linda Villumsen of New Zealand sixth. It was very hard today. The roads on the downhills were very slick, Villumsen said. I didnt want to take chances and that cost me some time. The race didnt go the way I wanted. It went perfectly for Armstrong who, one day shy of her 43rd birthday, joined speedskater Bonnie Blair as the only American women to win three gold medals in the same event at any Olympics.Ive had the hardest journey this Olympics that Ive ever had, she said. There was a lot of pressure, and I didnt realize this until this year but third place was a really bad result for me. I had to win everything. ... But I knew how to get it done on one day.Despite her pedigree, Armstrong was a controversial selection for the U.S. team. She retired for a second time shortly after the London Olympics, then decided earlier this year to pursue a third gold medal. But she eschewed competing in the toughest races in Europe to spend more time with her family, much to the chagrin of rival riders who made the saacrifices of racing abroad. Then there were the accusations of bias: Her longtime coach, Jim Miller, also directs the national team for USA Cycling, though he recused himself from all deliberations over her selection.Ultimately, two Americans filed for arbitration to try to make the team. One of the riders had beaten Armstrong in the national championships, putting her place on the team in doubt. It wasnt until a week before she departed for Brazil that Armstrongs place was confirmed. When youve already been two times at the pinnacle of the sport, why risk coming back for the gold medal? The best answer I can give is that I can, she said. Today the stars aligned. Her latest gold medal was almost certainly her toughest.Armstrong led by nearly 5 seconds after 10 kilometers but dropped 3 seconds back of Zabelinskaya by the second time check. She made up the difference over the final, flat run to the finish, precisely the kind of terrain that suits her riding style perfectly.(My coach) kept on telling me, `This is it, she said. And about 5k to go, he said, `Here we go. Its up to you what color of medal you want. And I was like, `Well, its up to me?She was embraced at the finish by Zabelinskaya, a controversial figure coming into the race. The Russian tested positive for the substance octopamine in July 2014 and accepted an 18-month ban, and that doping violation was poised to keep her from the Rio Games when the International Olympic Committee set in place rules that barred Russian athletes for previous doping offenses. In the morning they told us we could participate. In the evening, they said we wont. It was two weeks like this, she said. I had my ticket to go back to Russia.Last week, the CAS ruled the IOCs rules were unenforceable, allowing Zabelinskaya to compete in Saturdays road race and ride down the starting ramp in Wednesdays rainy time trial.Im not the only cyclist that has a doping problem in the past, said Zabelinskaya, who has always maintained her innocence.
