SEATTLE -- One of the most anticipated pitching matchups of the season happened in April and is about to take place again at Safeco Field. Mike Marjama Jersey .Anticipated in Japan, anyway.Japanese pitching stars Masahiro Tanaka of the New York Yankees and Seattles Hisashi Iwakuma, former teammates with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japans Pacific League, will go at it again after Tanaka and the Yankees beat Iwakuma and the Mariners 4-3 in April.Iwakuma was something of a mentor to Tanaka in Japan, as he was the ace of the staff when Tanaka joined the Golden Eagles out of high school. Now their roles have reversed, as Tanaka is one of baseballs most popular Japanese imports while Iwakuma has quietly toiled in Felix Hernandezs shadow for most of his five major league seasons.Numbers-wise, theyre very similar this season. Tanaka (10-4, 3.24 ERA) has won three starts in a row and is living up to his billing, while Iwakuma (14-8, 3.78 ERA) has been a pleasant surprise after being cast off by the Dodgers due to injury concerns last winter.Theyve both come a long way since their April duel, which left Tanaka saying he was just extremely satisfied being able to get that win.The stakes are a little higher this time around, as the Yankees (64-61) try to make one last push to climb back into playoff contention and the Mariners (67-58) try to stay there. New Yorks 5-1 win on Tuesday night left Seattle two games back in the American League wild-card race. Its really important for us to win the series tomorrow, Mariners manager Scott Servais said late Tuesday night. Weve had a pretty good homestand, weve swung the bats well, its just that (Tuesday starter CC Sabathia) got to us.With just 37 games remaining, and two upcoming series against the AL West-leading Rangers, the Mariners cant afford to lose many more games against non-contenders if theyre going to stay in the wild-card race.Every game is big for us, especially when youre behind other teams, said Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano, a former Yankee. You want to keep winning, battling. The Yankees have even less gray area when it comes to winning games down the stretch.Tuesdays win put them five games back in the wild-card race, so theyre skating on thin ice. Many people thought New Yorks chances at the postseason were dashed when the team started trading veterans like Carlos Beltran and Aroldis Chapman, but the young Yankees have surprised people with a respectable 12-9 record in August. Young prospects like catcher Gary Sanchez and outfielder Aaron Judge have come in and given the Yankees new life despite their slim postseason chances. Its exciting, veteran pitcher CC Sabathia said of the Yankees resurgence. Its fun. You want to watch Sanchez hit every time. You want to watch Judge hit every time. Its been a lot of fun, and its fun to be around the clubhouse. The Yankees have an off day Thursday after the afternoon game. Carlos Ruiz Jersey . -- The Portland Timbers and Real Salt Lake played to a 0-0 tie Saturday night that left the top of the Western Conference standings unchanged. Randy Johnson Jersey . It was Kerbers third final of the year after losing to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia in Monterrey in April and to Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic in Tokyo two weeks ago. The 10th-ranked German improved her record in finals to 3-5. . Now, with Game 6 set for Fenway Park and an 8:07 p.m. ET first pitch, the Detroit Tigers face the unenviable task of having to beat the Boston Red Sox twice, on the road, to advance to the World Series. RALEIGH, N. Zdeno Chara Jersey .C. -- Michael Cammalleri made up for lost time Sunday night.Cammalleri got his first three goals of the season, lifting the New Jersey Devils over the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 for their first road victory. It was nice to get them to hit the back of the net, Cammalleri said.Cammalleri scored twice in the second period and again midway through the third for his sixth career hat trick. Captain Andy Greene scored into an empty net for New Jersey. The Devils improve to 1-3-2 away from home. Keith Kinkaid got his first win of the season behind 33 saves.Getting the first road win, hopefully it will be like Camis first goal and open the flood gates for us, Kinkaid said. He had a tremendous game, and it was good to get the win.New Jersey had been off to its worst road start since going 0-5-2 in 2013-14. The Devils lost to Florida 4-3 in overtime and then suffered a 4-1 loss at Tampa Bay in their last two outings. We didnt like the way things were going in the last couple, Cammalleri said. To be able to nip that in the bud a little bit and now go back home means we can build on something.Carolinas Andrej Nestrasil scored with 6:59 left in the third period. Eddie Lack stopped 17 shots in his first home start.Cammalleris first goal came 4:31 into the second. He took a cross-ice pass from Travis Zajac and scored easily from just inside the left circle. He scored again just over three minutes later, slipping a shot under Lacks pads on a rush from near the left faceoff dot.He completed the hat trick on a shot from the left side 8:30 into the third.Cammalleri has five goals and four assists in his last six games against the Hurricanes. He also had a key blocked shot late as Carolina was pressing.Carolina pulled Lack for an extra skater with four minutes left but could not generate another goal. The Hurricanes began the year with one of the leagues top power-play units but have gone four games without a man-advantage goal. They were 0 for 4 in this one.It comes down to execution, coach Bill Peters said. It comes down to confidence and it comes down to five guys doing their part.Game notes Carolina F Jordan Staal played his 700th NHL game. ... Carolina D Justin Faulk left with an undisclosed injury and did not return to the game. ... Greene played in his 322nd straight game, the fourth-longest stretch in club history.UP NEXT:Devils: Host Carolina on Tuesday night after playing their last three games on the road.Hurricanes: Make the trip to New Jersey on Tuesday night before returning home for five in a row. Ryan Spooner Jersey . Manuel was offered a position the day he was fired. He accepted earlier this week and the team made the announcement Friday. Anton Khudobin Jersey . Giroud, who wasnt in the starting lineup for two matches after allegations about his private life and a decline in form, scored twice in the first half. Tomas Rosickys chip made it 3-0 before half time at Emirates Stadium, while defender Laurent Koscielny scored an unmarked header in the second half. SEPANG, Malaysia -- Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has labelled Nico Rosbergs 10-second penalty for hitting Kimi Raikkonen at the Malaysian Grand Prix as complete nonsense.Rosberg was penalised for barging past Raikkonen at Turn 2 on lap 38, slapping his right-rear tyre against the sidepod of the Ferrari as he did so. Wolff said his main focus after the race was on Lewis Hamiltons engine failure, which occurred three laps later, but was also outspoken about the 10-second penalty that was added to Rosbergs race time. The penalty is just complete nonsense, he said. Its not what I want to focus on because we have let Lewis down today and that should be something that we are beating up ourselves [for] and not moan about an unfair penalty that didnt make any difference because Nico was still third [at the end of the race].But over a couple of months ago we decided together [in Formula One] that we wanted to allow the racing between all the cars and if it wasnt 100 percent clear that someone was at fault then we would let them race against each other ... and then this. I dont know, it is for others to comment and not my main priority after that race today. Bobby Orr Jersey. Rosberg managed to build a 12 second gap over Raikkonen so that the penalty did not affect his final position, but also revealed he had to push his engine harder than he wanted to build up the buffer.I accept [the penalty], he said. And Im fortunate that it didnt cost me a position in the race, of course. I had to give it everything lap after lap again in the end there to re-gap that 10 seconds to make sure we had a 10 second gap, and at the same time save the engine because of Lewiss problem. We were a bit hesitant to run it all out until the end so its a bit of a two-pronged.Rosberg said he had not planned the move as he approached Turn 1, but decided to make the lunge at Turn 2 when he saw Raikkonen leave a gap.You just take it as it comes, and I saw the opportunity and knew I had to give it a go at some point and of course be a bit aggressive to get by.I saw the opportunity in the middle [of the corner]. You need to be creative, wherever it comes take it. Sky Sports News HQs Alex Hammond provides a race-by-race guide to Thursday at the Cheltenham Festival. Jimmy Wynn Jersey . 1.30 JLT NOVICES CHASEBristol De Mai was beaten by Garde La Victoire on his chase debut but he has progressed since and won the Scilly Isles Novices Chase at Sandown last time out. The step up to this trip has been the making of him. The news that Killultagh Vic was missing the race promoted him to favouritism, but hes not for me. One horse that is very well fancied is the Willie Mullins trained Outlander, who is a better chaser than he was a hurdler. Hes 3/3 over fences and looks to be getting better all the time. Connections of Garde La Victoire have opted for the JLT Chase Garde La Victoire has had three untroubled starts over fences this season for Philip Hobbs and I am glad he missed the Arkle to wait for this. It looks like hell have no trouble staying two and a half miles and it will probably suit better. He has won over the trip and is a smart novice. Black Hercules was unfortunate to fall at the last at Navan in February, but heavy ground seems to suit best. I cant split Garde La Victoire and Outlander. Alex Hammond is joined by Ed Chamberlin to look ahead to an exciting week of racing at the Cheltenham festival 2.10 PERTEMPS NETWORK FINALThis is a race where you are looking for a likely plot! Irish trainer Charles Byrnes is shrewd and knows how to train a horse for the Festival. He has Leave At Dawn in this, who won at Cheltenham in November on his penultimate start and is owned by JP McManus. The money has come for him. Cup Final is trained by Nicky Henderson and is another for McManus. He is progressive and stays well. Warren Greatrex trains Missed Approach who qualified for this in November at Newbury and hasnt been seen since. That was his first run for almost a year and he is unexposed and open to improvement. Greatrex is keen on his chance and wasnt too fazed by a 20lb rise in the handicap. Alex fancies Missed Approach to go close in the Pertemps Final If In Doubt is trained by Hobbs for McManus. He was raised 6lbs for winning at Wincanton on Boxing Day and hasnt been seen since, as I guess they didnt want him to be raised further in the weights once he had managed to qualify for this. He was 9th in this two years ago and 5th in the RSA last season and is now rated 146. Box Office is another McManus-owned horse, this time with Jonjo ONeill. He is yet to win since coming over from France, where he won three from four, and was beaten by six lengths in the Fred Winter at last years Festival; he should be competitive off 135. He didnt enjoy bad ground at Haydock when pulling up latest and is dangerous to discount. Arpege DAlene comes here in good form after a win at Chepstow recently and is also rated 146. He has had a breathing op and, as he didnt appear to be hugely fancied last time, there could be more to come. For me, Ill be on both Leave At Dawn and Missed Approach.2.50 RYANAIR CHASEI think Vautour may have ended up in the race that suits him best. Rich Ricci had been keen to go for the Gold Cup with last years impressive JLT winner but he couldnt win the King George and I couldnt see him staying in the Gold Cup. I think hes a shoo-in here. As for the Gigginstown horses, Valseur Lido is at his best over further distance than this trip, but has a chance despite that. He was desperately unlucky to unseat in the Irish Gold Cup and fell in the King George prior to that. Lets not forget he was a dual Grade 1 winning novice chaser. Could this be the year for Al Ferof in the Ryanair? Road To Riches needs to bounce back from a defeat in the Irish Gold Cup behind Carlingford Lough (when Valseur Lido unseated at the last and was very unlucky). He has shown his effectiveness at this trip, but Noel Meade made no secret of the fact he would have preferred to run in the Gold Cup, as he feels this trip might be too sharp for him. Al Ferof has had his limitations exposed at the very highest level but is going well for new trainer Dan Skelton and cant be ruled out, maybe this is his year. Josses Hill is another that falls short at the highest level, but he did have a confidence booster at Kempton last time out and has his backers. Smashing probably needs testing ground to show his best.3.30 RYANAIR WORLD HURDLEI was confident of a Cole Harden win in this last year and win he did….at 14/1! Id love to see him win again and dont think its unrealistic for him to repeat the performance. The ground should be spot on for him by Thursday, so that ticks that box. He has been trained purely with this race in mind and has had another breathing operation. Trainer Greatrex feels that hot favourite Thistlecrack has largely been bullying horses on bad ground this winter and said last week that he wont bully Cole Harden. Alex thinks Cole Harden can win the World Hurdle for the second year in a row Having said that, Thistlecrack has looked pretty formidable this season and his overall record is outstanding. He deserves to be hot favourite, but is short enough in the market. Saphir Du Rheu was runner-up in this last year, but hasnt fulfilled his potential over fences this season and reverted to hurdles when well beaten behind Thistlecrack in the Long Walk at Ascot. Im going to stick with Cole Harden again and hes an attractive price to boot.4.10 BROWN ADVISORY & MERRIEBELLE STABLE PLATEThis is a tough race to find the winner of, with big priced winners often the norm. Johns Spirit has dropped to an attractive mark for ONeill and is a regular at this track with 13 outings here resulting in three wins and a second. Stilletto is rated 142, which is up 10lbs since winning at Leicester, but I think he can still be competitive off his revised mark as his form stacks up and he is a progressive novice. Stilletto looks a likely contender for the 4.10 4.50 TRULL HOUSE STUD MARES NOVICES HURDLEI have mixed feelings about this race. The charity race, the St Patricks Derby, was always the final race on the Thursday, but that has been lost to make way for this race and with it hundreds of thousands of pounds in sponsorship raised for charity, and the thrill for ordinary folk like myself of riding at the Festival. Back to the matter in hand, though, and many people will have the Mullins-trained Limini as a banker here. She was useful on the Flat in France and is now 2/2 over hurdles for Mullins. There look to be some better priced alternatives to finish in the first three, particularly as the favourite doesnt appear to be the slickest of jumpers. Bloody Mary for Henderson comes here with a stretch of seven races unbeaten, just one of those for Henderson since coming over from France. The one I like is Smart Talk, shes the model of consistency and won a Grade 2 at Doncaster last time out for Brian Ellison. Shes got bags of scope, is progressing, and shouldnt be out of the frame. Bloody Mary is among the mares looking to upset the hot favourite in the 4.50 5.30 FULKE WALWYN KIM MUIR CHALLENGE CUP HANDICAP CHASEJockey bookings are worth taking note of here, with the leading Irish amateurs usually snapped up for the fancied runners. Cause Of Causes has been well supported for this for McManus, so hes no double figure price. He has winning Festival form, having landed the NH Chase last term. He hasnt won since, was eighth in the National, and is likely to have had this as his target for a while. He runs off a rating of 142 and is another leading contender for trainer Gordon Elliott. Doctor Harper got off the mark at the third attempt at Leicester last time out and is a progressive novice. He has smart form and rates as one of David Pipes best chances at the meeting. The yard won it last year with The Package. I think its between those two, with Cause Of Causes getting the nod. Alex will end the day on a high if Cause Of Causes can land the Kim Muir Also See: Champion glory for Annie Power Cheltenham latest Evan Gattis Jersey . And when it opened, every player was at his stall. Thats a sure sign that a team is in a slump and is searching for answers. "Its embarrassing to be at home and play the way we did," said defenceman Josh Gorges. George Springer Jersey . Its the second straight game Bell has scored in extra time for Kelowna, which beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-5 on Friday, and he now has four game-winning goals on the season. .Y. -- Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo had little trouble picking up his first shutout of the season against a Buffalo Sabres team thats having trouble scoring goals. SCOREBOARDMonday, Nov. 14Cincinnati at New York Giants, 8:30 p.m. ET. The Bengals (3-4-1) play their second game at MetLife Stadium this season. Cincinnati beat the Jets in the regular-season opener. The Bengals are 11-22 all-time on Monday nights. The Giants (5-3) are seeking their first four-game winning streak since 2013. Yoenis Cespedes, by near unanimous consensus, is the best free agent available this offseason. That probably wouldnt be the case most seasons, but hes coming off back-to-back 30-homer seasons, he thrived while playing in a big market with the New York Mets, and he is a plus defender in left field. After inconsistent results at the plate his first few seasons in the league, he has matured into a middle-of-the-order threat. The past two seasons, he ranks eighth among major league outfielders in WAR.The negatives: He just turned 31, and for a player who relies so much on his physicality, there are concerns about how he might age if his body doesnt hold up, aside from the general risk of signing a player his age to a multiyear deal. Some analysts have suggested that teams aare concerned hell lose focus if he signs a long-term contract, which could be one reason he didnt get the lucrative deal he sought last offseason and returned to the Mets on what turned out to be a one-year contract. Cheap Kings Jerseys. . He will probably be limited to left field for the most part, as he doesnt like right field and his defensive metrics in center with the Mets were below average. That said, with few other star options on the market, some team will spend a pile of cash on Cespedes, and projections are in the area of a five-year, $120 million price tag. Pellegrini was manager at Real Madrid from 2009 to 2010, but was sacked after just one season in charge and replaced by Jose Mourinho. The 62-year-old, however, remains focused on reaching the final in Milan rather than gaining retribution against his former employers. No, it is not an extra motivation. Always the motivation is to play the semi-final of the Champions League, said Pellegrini, who is to leave his post at the Etihad Stadium in the summer ahead of the arrival of Pep Guardiola, the current Bayern Munich boss. Who will win the Champions League? Which of the four teams will be lifting the trophy in Milan It is a difficult draw. It didnt matter which of the three teams we had to play, the three were difficult.I think the options to continue are the same for the teams and we will expect to do a very good game against a big team. Mannchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain is happy that theyve been drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League I think always for a big team it is important to arrive to the last stage of the Champions League and try to win it, but also not to leave out their domestic games, he said. CORVALLIS, Ore. . -- Boise State is 3-0 for the first time since 2011, but walked away from Saturdays 38-24 win over Oregon State with some mixed feelings. There was the first half, a spectacular showing of offense and defense by the Broncos that led to a 31-7 halftime lead. But for much of the second half, the Broncos offense was stuck in the mud, and there were special teams that gave up a kickoff return for a touchdown, another long kickoff return that set up another score, as well as an onside kick which the Beavers recovered.Jeremy McNichols ran for 208 yards and scored four first-half touchdowns in leading the Broncos to their fourth consecutive win over a Pacific-12 Conference team.Im happy that were undefeated, but I also know we have a lot of work to do, Boise State coach Bryan Harsin said. The tale of two halves, one where Boise State could do little wrong during the first two quarters, yet seemed stalled during most of the second half, left Harsin to harp on a single word.Consistency has got to be there. Thats the name of the game when it comes to any phase. We won the game, thats the ultimate goal. But the standard is, you want to play a certain way, Harsin said.McNichols did most of his damage in the first half, as the junior running back ran for 146 yards and touchdowns of 5, 6 and 70 yards, and caught a 6-yard scoring pass.Brett Rypien completed 19 of 36 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown for Boise State, which beat Washington State earlier this season. The Broncos offense accumulated 512 yards, but only 77 after halftime. Oregon State, held to 67 yards during the first half, finished with 287.Both teams scored on their opening drive, as Oregon State (1-2) tied the game at 7 on a 14-yard run by Ryan Nall. But the Broncos ran over the Beavers from there, holding OSU to 41 yards on its final six first-half drives, while scoring 24 consecutive points to take a 31-7 halftime lead.Boise State took a 14-7 lead on a 6-yard run by McNichols with 5:23 left in the first quarter, then sat on that advantage for nearly a quarter before scoring 17 points during the final seven minutes of the first half.He was angry out there, Harsin said of McNichols. On that long run, I didnt see him, he just squirted out of there and he was gone. Thats the offensive line, thats the tight end, thats J-Mac. Thats what were capable of doing.OSU quarterback Darell Garretson was 11 of 16 for 53 yards, but was benched after a half in favor of Conor Blount. The freshman walk-on gave the Beavers a spark, as Oregon State scored 10 third-quarter points to cut the deficit to 31-17.Darren Lees 19-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Boise State offset a 99-yard kickoff return by OSUs Victor Bolden during the fourth quarter. While there were second-half positives, the brief comeback was of small consolation to OSU running back Ryan Nall, who ran for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Its pretty simple: execution. Were shooting ourselves in the face with penalties, but we can clean that up in practice. Come Monday, were going to be ready to roll, Nall said.It was Boise States first win in four tries at Oregon State. The Broncos have yet to trail in a game this season.THE TAKEAWAYBOISE STATE: The win should put the Broncos in a strong position to crack next weeks AP Top 25 and add to their streak of 14 consecutive years where they have spent at least one week in the rankings. Boise States schedule sets up well for one of its best starts in years, as the Broncos play three of their next four games at home.Beating back-to-back Pac-12 teams is more mindset than talent, Lee said.Everyone we play is talented, everyones got skill, but at the end of the day, you have to have that mentality. If youre not willing to go out and put it down on the line every play, thats the difference, Lee said.OREGON STATE: The Beavers, coming off their first win in 11 games last Saturday against Idaho State, now head into Pacific-12 Conference play, where OSU has lost 11 consecutive games. Oregon State will have much to fix on defense, after giving up 435 yards and 21 first downs during the first half to Boise State. The Beavers offense wasnt much help, after managing just 41 yards on their final six drives of the first half.It was an absolute beat down in the first half. The kids fought and battled back and did some good things. But you cannot trick yourself into wins against good teams. We have to be able to execute, sustain tempo and sustain drives, Oregon State coach Gary Andersen said.NO QUARTERBACK CONTROVERSYGarretson left the game after the first half because Andersen said he wasnt 100 percent due to a lingering foot injury. While Blount had some moments during his college debut, completing 11 of 18 passes for 138 yards, Andersen said when Garretson is physically sound, hell start for the Beavers.Conor can bring some things to the offense with his legs. He did some nice things. Im not afraid to give freshmen an opportunity, Andersen said. But when Darrel is healthy, hes the starting quarterback. Theres no debate about that.UP NEXTBOISE STATE: The Broncos open Mountain West Conference play at home against Utah State next Saturday. Last year, Utah State beat Boise State 52-26, the Broncos most one-sided MWC loss in school history.OREGON STATE: The Beavers hit the road for their Pacific-12 Conference opener at Colorado next Saturday. The Buffaloes opened league play Saturday at Oregon. . Brett Kulak and Jackson Houck of the Vancouver Giants were each charged with assault causing bodily harm on Aug. 18, according to the B.C. court services. . Calgary scored on the first shift, and Michael Cammalleri scored twice as the Flames cruised to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals on Saturday. . -- Bobby Ryan helped the U. Oregon State wide receiver Seth Collins has been admitted to the hospital. The Oregon State athletic department told ESPN that Collins is fighting illness. The schools Twitter account then confirmed the news.Coach Gary Andersen would not comment Monday on Collins status because of privacy issues. Were going to support Seth, and were going to be there for him in any way we possibly can, Andersen said. My thoughts and prayers are with him, just like the team.Collins traveled with the team for Saturdays game against UCLA and had two receptions for 44 yards in the loss. He is second on the Beavers in receptions (36) and receiving yards ((418). He scored his only touchdown of the season Oct. 29 against Washington State. A sophomore, Collins transitioned to wide receiver after serving as the teams quarterback in 2015 and almost transferring in the offseason.Andersen said he was even limited in what he could tell the team. They seem fine, but are their minds on Seth? Absolutely. Hes a teammate, Andersen said. Its not just a normal, Hey, I hurt my knee in practice.Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report. ANDORRA LA VELLA, Andorra -- Chris Froome has the yellow jersey, Mark Cavendish has won three sprint stages, and Adam Yates sits second in the overall standings. Vince Carter Jersey . It has been a very successful start to the Tour de France for British cyclists. Its definitely not a fluke, Froome said on Monday as the peloton enjoyed its first rest day, following nine stages which saw Froomes Team Sky stamping its authority on the race. With Froomes victory at Bagneres-de-Luchon and Steve Cummings solo breakaway to the Lac de Payolle, its not exaggerating to say that British riders have taken over the Tour this summer. They have won five out of nine stages so far, and can reasonably hope for a second 1-2 in the space of four years on the Champs-Elysees.No other nation has won more than one stage this year. You look at how far British cycling has come during the last few years, said Froome, who was runner-up to countryman Bradley Wiggins in 2012 then won the race in 2013 and 2015. Its not just by chance. There has been a plan, there have been structures, riders of talent.Competing in only his second Tour, the 23-year-old Yates is leading the next generation of British cyclists. Yates holds the white jersey for best young rider and is just 16 seconds behind Froome overall. After winning the Tour of Turkey in 2014, and the San Sebastian single-day classic last year, he is already being tipped as a future winner of a major Tour.Yates joined the Orica squad with that goal in mind, but said he would focus on stage wins this year while also trying to keep up with Froome and Nairo Quintana. The strategy has been working well so far, and hes seven seconds ahead of Quintana, the Colombian climber who is in fourth place.Irish rider Dan Martin is third overall, 19 seconds behind Froome. They already have shown themselves as contenders, Froome said of Yates and Martin. If they can do what theyve done in the first half, then theyll be on the podium come Paris. But three weeks is a long time. It is a difference between riding a week-long race and a Grand Tour. But so far, theyve shown no weaknesses in that respect. The other big satisfaction of the week for British cycling has been Cavendish. At 31, the Manx Missile has rediscovered his instinct and burst of speed courtesy of the hard track training he put himself through as part of his preparations for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where he will be competing in the omnium. With 29 stage wins under his belt, Cavendish is second on the all-time list of Tour stage winners, five behind Eddy Merckxs record of 34, and one ahead of Bernard Hinault.Team Sky boss Dave Brailsford said the main reason behind Britains dominance dates to nearly 20 years ago, when the National Lottery started to invest millions of pounds into British sport federations.Britain has invested heavily in lower ranks, Brailsford said. It does not happen overnight. Here are some other things learned during the first week of the Tour:---NO RIVALS FOR SKYThere is just one team controlling the race this year, and its Froomes Team Sky.Riders from the British outfit protected Froome in the early flat stages, kept him safe from crashes at the front of the pack, then set the pace in the Pyrenees. The fast tempo they impose in every big ascent prevents Froomes main rivals from attacking, and eventually makes them crack. Among the pre-race favorites, BMCs Tejay van Garderen has already lost 1:01 to Froome, and Astanas Fabio Aru trails by 1:23.If they want to just sit on our wheel and wait until the end and try and catch us, if thats the way they want to try and win the Tour de France, thats fine by me Brailsford said. But if nobody else is going to try and take control then we will.CONSERVATIVE QUINTANASeen as the main threat to Froomes ambition to secure a third Tour win, Nairo Quintana has been fairly discreet.Twice runner-up to Froome, the diminutive climber was expected to attack in the Pyrenees. After being caught off guard by Froomes downhill attack, he took an extremely conservative approach in the climb to Arcalis, sat on Froomes back wheel and did not try anything that could have destabilized the Tour champion. In 2013 and 2015, Quintana managed to gain time on Froome in the closing stages of the Tour. His Movistar team insists there is still a long way to go before the race reaches Paris and that Quintana will have plenty of opportunities to challenge Froome, especially at Mont Ventoux or in the Alps.BARDET IN THE MIXWith Thibault Pinot out of contention, the French hopes of producing a first home Tour winner in 31 years hang on Romain Bardets shoulders. There has been no French champion since Bernard Hinaults fifth victory in 1985.Sixth overall, 44 seconds behind Froome, Bardet had never enjoyed such a good start. And he is not impressed by Sky.It boosts my confidence, Bardet said. Sky is a very powerful team, but I expected them to be stronger (Sunday), Froome was a bit left on his own in the finale. Everything is possible.---AP Sports Writer Andrew Dampf contributed to this story. Aaron Gordon Jersey . Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey last Sunday. The fine is the fourth this season for Goldson. He was fined $30,000 for a hit on the New York Jets Jeff Cumberland in Week 1. Tracy Mcgrady Jersey . Dallas hasnt ruled out the star quarterback for Sunday nights game against Philadelphia, but all signs point to Romos back injury pushing Kyle Orton into the starting role after two years of limited play as the backup. Surely Ortons name isnt the first that comes to mind for fans wanting a change after years of damaging interceptions, fumbles or, most infamously, the field goal flub when Romo dropped the snap on a kick that could have won his first playoff game in 2006. . Both players have lower body injuries that will keep them out of the lineup until at least January 31, which is the first game they can be activated from IR. The year 2016 has been kind to 20-year-old Harmanpreet Singh, and the defender hopes to cap off what has been an eventful year with a good finish for India at the junior World Cup in Lucknow, ahead of the quarterfinal against Spain on Thursday.Blooded into the junior team in 2014 -- he fondly remembers how India won their first match in Johor Bahru against New Zealand when he put on the India jersey for the first time -- his consistent performances over the next couple of years saw him fast-tracked into the senior Indian setup, and he responded with consistent performances at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia and the Champions Trophy in London, where his performances helped India win silver, and earned him the applause of hockey experts around the world and also the best junior player of the tournament award. His good run of form took him to the Olympics, where Indias campaign started brightly but ended at the quarters.Whenever you take things lightly in hockey, you can slip up. In hockey, there is no team that is good or bad; we just tend to label them in our mind, Harmanpreet told ESPN in the lead up to the junior World Cup. You learn as you play that you cannot take any team lightly. What you have to do is stick to your basics, and the structure that works for you.Harmanpreet has added a lot of variety to that structure, with his ability to play as a deep defender and also attack from either flank. What has set him apart from his peers, and no doubt helped his elevation to the senior level is his ability to score off penalty corners. In his early years as a hockey player, at the Punjab University academy in Ludhiana, he never paid attention to this key aspect of modern hockey. It took a switch to the Surjit Hockey academy in Jalandhar and a chance meeting with two senior traineees who were regulars at India camps that brought him down that route. Jonathan Isaac Jersey. When I went to the Surjit academy, it was Gaganpreet Singh and Simranjeet Singh who guided me and asked me to try out taking drag-flicks. They have helped me a lot, said Harmanpreet, while acknowledging how that initiation has converted into a specialisation thanks to his teammates for the Indian team, VR Raghunath and Rupinder Pal Singh. Drag flicking came easy at the domestic level, but once you get into the India fold you have to give extra time to practising your drag flicks, and in that Raghubhai and Rupinderbhai helped me a lot. I would go up to them and sometimes they would come to me and point something out.Harmanpreet, who will know next month if he becomes the first Indian to win the FIH Rising Star of the Year award for mens hockey, put the Indian junior teams recent string of good performances down to their improved fitness levels. All the players will tell you that they dont enjoy the running, but the plus point is that if you train properly, then it makes the game easy. Fitness hai toh sab kuch hai (you can only play well as long as you are fit).Harmanpreet has already scored two of Indias 11 goals as they topped Pool D to set up a last-eight clash against Spain, and the confidence in how far this team might go came out when he talked about his teams greatest strength. As a team, we help each other and stay together. We are a very fit team and we have worked really hard. We have had camps, toured Spain and Australia and played a number of good games. We are combining well and whenever we play a team, anybody coming into the team knows exactly what they need to do. NEW YORK -- Former running back Ricky Williams says he went through at least 500 drug tests during his 11-year NFL career. Pat Valaika Jersey .The 1998 Heisman Trophy winner at Texas and first-round draft pick by New Orleans in 99 tells Sports Illustrated in a film to be released on on Wednesday that he might have the world record for most times drug tested.Williams, who also played for Miami and Baltimore, sat out the 2006 season while suspended by the league for violating the substance abuse policy.Rickys wife, Kristin, outlines in the film how lax NFL testing standards were, including when a tester left the samples at the Williamses house to go get stickers for identifying them.He left for 45 minutes and then came back with the stickers he needed, she says, adding some of the drug testers were like family. In the film, entitled Ricky Williams Takes the High Road ( ), Williams also discusses the prevalence of marijuana use in the NFL today, and its potential as a medicinal tool.Williams retired before the 2004 season after failing a drug test for the third time. He returned to the Dolphins in 2005, then sat out 2006 after a fourth failed drug test.He played four more seasons with the Dolphins and finished his career with one season in Baltimore, 2011.Williams has become an entrepreneur in the marijuana industry and campaigns for its legalization throughout the United States.---AP NFL website: and Wade Davis Jersey . It is a cliché dragged out by fans and pundits regularly when discussions take place around which teams are better than others. Tyler Anderson Jersey . Thats about all he can do right now, so hes trying not to think about when he might be able to play again for the Los Angeles Lakers. . After taking two big hits this week -- losing at home and dropping back-to-back games for the first time all season -- Indiana struck back by playing its most complete game of the year. LOS ANGELES -- Dallas Dez Bryant caught a 10-yard touchdown pass, but the Los Angeles Rams earned a win in their homecoming when Sean Mannion threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Green with 1:54 remaining for a 28-24 comeback over the Cowboys at the Coliseum on Saturday.Bryant had two receptions for 28 yards, including a leaping catch on the sideline against cornerback Coty Sensabaugh for 18 yards. He played one series before leaving the game.Quarterback Tony Romo, rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, tight end Jason Witten and left tackle Tyron Smith were held out of the game for Dallas.Rams running back Todd Gurley and defensive end Robert Quinn also did not play, as a crowd of 89,140 saw Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead score on a 101-yard kick return to welcome the NFL back to Southern California after a 22-year absence.No. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff had an up-and-down debut after replacing Case Keenum early in the second quarter, completing 4 of 9 passes for 38 yards and an interception. After being hit by Cowboys linebacker Derek Akunne, Goffs second pass was a wobbly throw that was easily picked off by Mark Nzeocha. On his next possession, Goff nearly put the Rams in position to pick up points before halftime but rookie Pharoh Cooper dropped a pass in the red zone. Goff was sacked on the next play to end the second quarter.Goff didnt return in the second half after his non-throwing shoulder became stiff. Coach Jeff Fisher planned to give Goff two or three more series. Neither Goff nor Fisher believed the injury was serious.Keenum started and played three series, going 6 of 7 for 58 yards. Benny Cunningham scored on a 14-yard run with 1:33 left in the first quarter for the Rams first points in the stadium where they first played after arriving from Cleveland in 1946 until moving to Anaheim at the end of the 1979 season.Mannion threw three touchdown passes in the second half to rally the Rams.Cowboys rookie Dak Prescott started in place of Romo and made a strong case to back him up after Kellen Moore broke his ankle in practice last week. Prescott was 10 of 12 for 139 yards and two touchdowns, with both incompletions coming on drops by Geoff Swain. The fourth-round pick out of Mississippi State looked poised behind the strong Cowboys offensive line, finding Terrance Williams for a 32-yard touchdown with a perfectly placed throw over Lamarcus Joyner.ROOKIE WATCHCowboys: Runnning back Darius Jackson showed some nice burst, rushing for 47 yards on 13 carries. Jon Gray Jersey. But most of the Cowboys draft class was unavailable. Second-round pick Jaylon Smith is recovering from a serious knee injury the linebacker suffered in the Fiesta Bowl. Defensive tackle Maliek Collins (foot) and end Charles Tapper (back) are also dealing with injuries, but should be available later in the preseason.Rams: Fourth-round pick Tyler Higbee has been the star of training camp and kept it up with five catches for 49 yards. The tight end from Western Michigan was equally effective whether working split out wide, where he broke a tackle on a 14-yard reception from Goff, or on the line of scrimmage. Higbee didnt get to show off his aptitude in the red zone, but looks like a valuable addition to an offense that lacks reliable options.POSITION BATTLESCowboys: Jamiel Showers had his moments in the second half, including a 47-yard completion to Vince Mayle after narrowly escaping a sack, but Prescotts performance looks to have justified the decision by owner Jerry Jones not to add a veteran quarterback after Moore got hurt.Rams: The rebuilt secondary struggled in its first outing after losing free agent cornerback Janoris Jenkins to the New York Giants. Seeing Sensabaugh struggle to contain Bryant wasnt a surprise, but seeing Williams and Cole Beasley running free was troubling. Joyner seems to be a better fit at nickel back, while Sensabaughs issues mean a starting cornerback job is almost certainly E.J. Gaines to lose.QUOTABLECowboys: I think the best thing about Dak is that he is extremely calm, Bryant said of Prescott. Its like hes been here before. Hes not playing like a rookie. He is going to be very good; hes special.Rams: I had to remind them it was a preseason game, Fisher said. It was as if we had just clinched the playoff as far as they were concerned.PRICEY PREMIEREFans attending the game could buy premium beer for $16 or a $29.99 commemorative shirt, but the biggest sticker shock likely came when trying to park. Only season-ticket holders can use the lots at the Coliseum or on the Southern California campus next door, allowing enterprising locals to seek up to $100 for a parking spot.---Online: and Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale NFL Hoodies Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys 2018 Wholesale NFL White Jerseys Wholesale NFL White Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys NFL Cheap Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys From China Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys ' ' '

CHICAGO -- Detroit Tigers right-hander Mike Pelfrey has been activated off the disabled list and moved to the bullpen. T.J. He has appeared in 239 games in his 11-year career, including 234 starts. The Tigers also recalled infielder Dixon Machado from Triple-A Toledo before Mondays game against the White Sox as insurance with second baseman Ian Kinsler nursing a sore finger.Manager Brad Ausmus confirmed right-handed prospect Joe Jimenez will go to instructional ball and wont be called up this month. Custom Washington Capitals Jerseys . Ashley Youngs cross was inadvertently headed by Chester into his own net in the 66th minute, allowing United to claim a third straight league win. "We had to dig deep with our fighting spirit and weve done that," United striker Wayne Rooney said. Philipp Grubauer Jersey . The CFLs leading rusher kept adding to his gaudy numbers this season and scored the winning touchdown with just over two minutes to play. The New Westminster, B.C., native plowed three yards into the end zone for the last score of a heated, see-saw battle between the two teams with the best records in the CFL. . Clarkson had been dealing with an elbow injury in early January and will be out of action for at least one week. He has three goals and five assists through 36 games with the Leafs this season. BOSTON -- The ball settled into the right fielders glove, the Cleveland Indians poured onto the diamond and the Fenway fans fell silent. Then, slowly from the crowd rose a chant of Pa-pi!Cleveland swept the Red Sox out of the postseason and sent David Ortiz into retirement on Monday night with a 4-3 victory that completed a three-game AL Division Series sweep. But even as the Indians frolicked on the field in their celebratory hats and T-shirts, Boston fans werent ready to let their beloved Big Papi go.Im glad he didnt get a hit to beat us, manager Terry Francona said after leading the Indians to just the second postseason sweep in franchise history. I thought it was an honor to be on the field, competing against him in his last game, because hes truly one of the best. You could tell the way people were hanging around yelling his name and everything. He deserves every bit of that.Coco Crisp hit a two-run homer , closer Cody Allen got four outs and the Indians advanced the AL Championship Series for the first time since 2007. That year, they took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series against Boston before losing three in a row.Cleveland also blew a 2-0 lead against Boston in the best-of-five round in 1999.But this year there would be no fold.Perhaps inspired by the Cavaliers NBA title -- the citys first pro sports championship since 1964 -- the Indians shut down Ortiz and the most prolific offense in the league. Rookie Tyler Naquin delivered a two-run single and Josh Tomlin pitched five strong innings for the Indians, who will open the ALCS at home against Toronto on Friday.Cleveland went 4-3 this year against the wild-card Blue Jays, who swept AL West champion Texas to reach the ALCS for the second straight year.Nobody in this clubhouse doubts what were what capable of, reliever Andrew Miller said as music blared and corks popped in the visitors clubhouse. I think we saw in our games in Cleveland how much support we have. Its a special place to be. I think we have bigger things ahead of us, but its not going to be any easier. To advance, the Indians had to shut down the most prolific offense in the major leagues and weather the emotional farewell to Ortiz . The Red Sox designated hitter went 1 for 9 in the series, collecting a sacrifice fly in Game 3 before walking on four pitches in his final plate appearance .Ortiz was lifted for a pinch runner in the eighth and left to a standing ovation. But that wasnt enough for the crowd of 39,530 -- the largest at Fenway since at least World War II. Chanting Were not leaving! and Thank you, Pa-pi! for more than 10 minutes while the Indians celebrated their victory, the crowd finally drew the beloved slugger back onto the field.Wearing a red warmup and a scowl on his face, Ortiz lumbered out to the mound and tipped his cap in all directions, tapping his heart. Only when the camera zoomed in on him did it become apparent that the frown was not regret over an early postseason exit: Big Papi was crying.Tonight when I walked to the mound, I realized that it was over. John Carlson Jersey. It was pretty much probably the last time as a player to walk in front of a crowd, Ortiz told reporters afterward. And the emotion came back out again. After two minutes, Ortiz retired to the dugout and retired for good, ending to a career that brought three World Series titles to Boston and transformed the once-futile franchise into winners.Im happy, not just for me, not just how my career went down, but for the organization, the step that we took, from going from last place to win the division this year, he told reporters. Even if things didnt end up the way we were looking for ... its like going from bad to good, from day to night.Making it their goal to send their beloved Big Papi out as a winner, the Red Sox managed to win the AL East -- the second time in four seasons they went from worst to first.Boston raised fans hopes with an 11-game winning streak in September but then lost eight of its last nine games, including the playoffs. After winning the first two games in the best-of-five AL Division Series, and then waiting an extra day because of Sundays rainout, the Indians it took a 2-0 lead off Clay Buchholz in the fourth inning on Naquins single.Tomlin gave up Andrew Benintendis Green Monster-scraping RBI double in the fifth, which gave some life to the Fenway crowd. But with one run in, one out, one on and the fans taunting the Indians starter -- Tom-lin! Tom-lin! -- he struck out Sandy Leon on a pitch in the dirt and then Jackie Bradley Jr. grounded out to first. In the sixth, Crisp hit a two-run homer over the left-field wall to make it 4-1.Buchholz allowed two runs and six hits in four innings, joining David Price and Rick Porcello as postseason losers.Tomlin allowed two runs on four in five-plus innings. Miller pitched two innings , Bryan Shaw got two outs and Allen came on to face Ortiz with two out and a man on first in the eighth. After walking on four pitches , Ortiz stood on first and waved his arms at the mostly dormant crowd. The fans rose to cheer for him and stayed there as Hanley Ramirez singled to make it 4-3.Now representing the tying run at second, Ortiz was lifted for pinch-runner Marco Hernandez, leaving the field to a raucous cheer. But even after coming out of the game, his work wasnt done: With one foot on the top step of the dugout, he continued to cheer the team on.Xander Bogaerts hit a hard line drive to second and Ortiz jumped onto the dirt, only to turn around and walk dejectedly back into the dugout when it was caught for the last out.In the ninth, Jackie Bradley Jr. singled with two out and Dustin Pedroia drew a walk on a 3-2 pitch. Travis Shaw worked the count full before popping up to end it.I was cheering so bad, Ortiz said. Once I got out of the game I was screaming at my team to put me back in it. Make me wear this uniform one more day. Because I wasnt ready to be over with the playoff. Giants General Manager Dave Gettleman must not have been satisfied with his 53-man roster after Saturday’s cutdown day.

The Giants made a league-high six waiver claims today.

Newly arriving with the Giants will be wide receiver Kaelin Clay from the Bills Bengals Elite Jerseys , defensive end Mario Edwards from the Raiders, defensive back Antonio Hamilton from the Raiders, defensive back Michael Jordan from the Browns, defensive back Kamrin Moore from the Saints and center Spencer Pulley from the Chargers.

The Giants were second in the waiver order (which is the same as the 2018 NFL draft order), behind only the Browns. That means they probably got some players that other teams were hoping to get. Maybe some of those other teams can satisfy themselves by collecting some of the players the Giants will have to waive to make room for the six new arrivals.

Kyle Gibson recovered from a rough start to throw seven innings, and Max Kepler homered in his second straight game to lead Minnesota past Baltimore 5-4 on Saturday.

Bobby Wilson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Twins, who won their third in a row.

Gibson (3-6) allowed three runs in the first inning – including a two-run homer by Chris Davis – but only gave up two hits after that while striking out nine. It was Gibson’s highest strikeout total since fanning 10 batters on April 26 against the New York Yankees.

Kepler’s solo shot off Kevin Gausman sparked a three-run fifth that tied it. Wilson’s two-run double off Miguel Castro (2-5) in the sixth gave Minnesota the lead for good.

The team with baseball’s worst record, meanwhile Youth Tremaine Edmunds Jersey , lost its fifth in the row.

Trevor Hildenberger worked a scoreless eighth for the Twins. Jace Peterson’s RBI double off Fernando Rodney pulled the Orioles to 5-4, but Rodney got Tim Beckham on a grounder to short to convert his 19th save in 24 chances.

CHICAGO – Javier Baez homered and had four hits – including a game-tying infield single in the eighth – and Chicago rallied from a five-run deficit and over Cincinnati.

Anthony Rizzo’s RBI groundout capped a four-run eighth inning for Chicago, which has come from behind in each of its last eight wins.

Eugenio Suarez homered and Billy Hamilton added three hits and three stolen bases for Cincinnati, which had its five-game winning streak against the Cubs snapped.

Randy Rosario (4-0) allowed two hits in 2 1/3 innings to get the win. Brandon Marrow worked the ninth for his 20th save.

Jared Hughes (2-3) took the loss, part of three Reds relievers who allowed five runs in 2 1/3 innings.

PITTSBURGH – Nick Williams, Scott Kingery and Jorge Alfaro drove in runs on consecutive at-bats in the seventh inning to help Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh and extend the first-place Phillies‘ winning streak to six games.

Jake Arrieta (6-6) worked around six hits with the help of eight strikeouts to hold the Pirates to two runs over seven innings.

Pirates starter Jameson Taillon (5-7) was charged with all three runs. He had allowed just two singles coming into the seventh. He struck out eight and walked none.

Starling Marte singled and scored in the first and homered in the second as part of a three-hit afternoon to stake the Pirates to an early lead.

Victor Arano worked around a leadoff double in the ninth for his second save.

SAN FRANCISCO – Carlos Martinez pitched seven effective innings for his third consecutive win and St. Louis beat San Francisco.

Martinez (6-4) allowed one run on six hits with three strikeouts and did not walk a batter for the third time this season. The right-hander also drove in the Cardinals’ first run with an RBI double in the third.

Jordan Hicks allowed a run in the eighth and Bud Norris retired three batters for his 17th save.

Brandon Belt had three hits and drove in both runs for the Giants. San Francisco has been held to two runs or fewer in five of its last six games.

Jeff Samardzija had an uneven outing in his first start since May 29. Activated off the disabled list before the game, Samardzija (1-5) gave up three runs in five innings and repeatedly pitched with runners on base.

MILWAUKEE – Anibal Sanchez pitched effectively into the seventh and Freddie Freeman added three hits, lifting slumping Atlanta over Milwaukee.

Sanchez (4-2) retired 19 in a row at one point to help snap Atlanta’s season high four-game skid. He exited with two outs in the seventh after being hit by a liner on his right hip.

Atlanta got to Brewers spot starter Aaron Wilkerson (0-1) early to end Milwaukee’s five-game winning streak. Wilkerson had taken the rotation turn of Brent Suter, who went on the 10-day disabled list with left forearm tightness on Friday.

Sanchez struck out six in a row at one point. But after two easy outs in the seventh, his day ended quickly following a walk to Hernan Perez.

DETROIT – Nicholas Castellanos homered as part of a seven-run first inning for Detroit, and the Tigers cruised past Texas.

Cole Hamels (4-8) retired only two batters for the Rangers in his shortest start since 2010 Derrick Nnadi Color Rush Jersey , and Adrian Beltre had a home run taken away when Detroit’s JaCoby Jones made a spectacular catch in left-center field.

Mike Fiers (6-5) allowed a run and five hits in six innings. He struck out six with one walk.

Niko Goodrum had four hits for the Tigers.

TORONTO – Luis Severino pitched five innings to earn his major league-leading 14th win, Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge each hit solo home runs, and New York beat Toronto.

Severino (14-2) won his fifth straight start, allowing three runs and five hits. Two of the hits were home runs, marking the first time this season that Severino has allowed more than one homer in a game. He has allowed three earned runs or less in 16 consecutive starts.

Jonathan Holder, David Robertson Corey Perry Jersey , Dellin Betances each worked one inning and Aroldis Chapman got the first out of the ninth before leaving with an apparent injury. Chasen Shreve finished for New York, giving up a solo homer to Aledmys Diaz.

Receiver Braxton Miller Womens Mattias Ekholm Jersey , a third-round pick in 2016, was among those cut by the Houston Texans as they trimmed their roster to 53 players for the regular season.

Miller was twice named Big Ten offensive player of the year as a quarterback at Ohio State before transitioning to receiver after an injury. He saw limited action in two seasons with the Texans, finishing his career in Houston with 34 receptions for 261 yards and two touchdowns in 21 games.

Also released on Saturday was guard David Quessenberry, a 2013 draft pick who spent years fighting cancer before overcoming the disease to make his NFL debut last season. The NHL in the 1990s was by far one of the best times in the history of the league because not only did it provide some of the greatest players in the history of the game, but scoring was seen much more regularly. During that time period, numerous players scored over 60 goals EACH season, and that clearly is a rarity in today鈥檚 game. Because of this, many say that watching hockey in the past decades was far more enjoyable because it was an offence driven league. Today Mark Walton Color Rush Jersey , it is apparent that numbers have dropped and that is in part聽due to the size of goalie equipment. Tennessee left tackle Taylor Lewan is skipping the Titans' mandatory minicamp while his agents negotiate a new contract for the two-time Pro Bowl lineman.

Titans general manager Jon Robinson said in a statement Tuesday just before the team started a three-day minicamp that Lewan's representatives told the team he would not be attending.

"We have had several constructive conversations over the last 5-6 weeks about his contract status Rashaad Penny Color Rush Jersey ," Robinson said in his statement. "He is currently under contract, and we are working to keep Taylor as part of this organization for a long time."

Lewan, who turns 27 in July, is younger than Nate Solder who became the league's highest-paid offensive lineman in March with a four-year, $62 million deal from the New York Giants . Lewan is under contract for 2018 after the Titans picked up his fifth-year option paying him $9.34 million this season.

The Titans drafted Lewan at No. 11 overall in 2014 out of Michigan, and he has started every game the past two seasons in being selected to consecutive Pro Bowls. He has started 53 of his 58 games played with the 6-foot-7, 309-pound Lewan a key piece in protecting quarterback Marcus Mariota.

First-year head coach Mike Vrabel, himself a former NFL player , said he is confident in Robinson and the front office to handle contracts.

"I understand that there sometimes becomes issues with those, so I think that they're best handled internally," Vrabel said.

Lewan had taken part in most of the team's offseason program, and he also helped the Titans unveil their redesigned uniforms in April. But he wasn't at a photo session Monday, and the Titans announced Lewan wouldn't be at minicamp minutes before the first practice started Tuesday.

Kevin Pamphile, a free agent signee this March, replaced Lewan in the lineup at left tackle. Dennis Kelly has been at right tackle with Jack Conklin recovering after tearing his left ACL in the Titans' playoff loss at New England. Pamphile signed with the Titans in part for an opportunity and from getting to know Robinson while in Tampa Bay.

"You've got to take advantage of every rep you get whoever's across the line," Pamphile said. "Opportunity and competition that remains the key for our offensive line Jarrad Davis Jersey , want to make sure we're all competing and getting better each day."

Lewan, a Pro Bowl left tackle, told reporters May 30 that he was letting his agent handle negotiations for a new contract and that any talks with the Titans to that point were nothing worth talking about.

Lewan, who believes he's the NFL's best left tackle, certainly noticed Solder's "awesome" contract.

"There are a lot of things I do well and a lot of things I can improve upon as a football player," Lewan said on May 30.

"But for me, if I don't walk on the field and think I'm the best player in the NFL every time I step on the field, then I'm doing something wrong."

Four-time Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Orakpo isn't worried about Lewan not being at this minicamp.

"I love Lewan Sam Darnold Jersey Elite , I respect every decision he makes, and one thing about Lewan whether he's right here right now or whether I see him Week 1, he's going to be ready to go," Orakpo said.

"So hopefully they'll get that situated. That's out of my control. But knowing Lewan if it gets done Saturday before the game Week 1, he'll be ready to go."

Linebacker Kevin Dodd, the No. 33 pick overall in 2016, had stayed away from the offseason program until Tuesday when he faced a fine. He literally ran away from reporters trying to talk to him after practice. Vrabel said he didn't talk to Dodd, only asked him to do what the coaches have asked all the other players to do.

The Buffalo Bills continue shuffling their defensive front during the first week of training camp by signing end Ryan Russell.

Russell is listed at 6-foot-5 and 267 pounds Nazem Kadri Jersey , and has three seasons of NFL experience, including the past two with Tampa Bay. He had two sacks in 14 games, including six starts, with the Buccaneers last season.

He was selected by Dallas in the fifth round of the 2015 draft out of Purdue, but appeared in just one game for the Cowboys.

Buffalo freed up room on its roster on Sunday by releasing Owa Odighizuwa, an offseason free agent addition. Odighizuwa was attempting to resume his career after missing all of last season, when he was cut by the New York Giants shortly after being issued a four-game NFL suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancers.

The Bills opened training camp Thursday by signing defensive tackle John Hughes.

Injuries have depleted Buffalo's depth at tight end. Nick O'Leary missed practice Sunday because of an injury to his right foot. Logan Thomas did not return to practice Sunday after hurting his shoulder.

Buffalo is off Monday and resumes camp Tuesday in suburban Rochester.

Things are coming a little easier this summer for Derrick White.

White , the 29th pick in last year’s draft, is off to a fast start in the NBA Summer League. He scored 18 of his 21 points in the first half to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a lopsided 103-81 victory over Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-4 point guard, who played in 17 games last season for the Spurs, also had nine assists, six rebounds and two blocks in an impressive all-around performance.

”I am just feeling more comfortable this year,” White said. ”I am learning what works and what I need to do to be successful.”

White continued his solid play from the night before, when he had 22 points and seven rebounds in the Spurs’ 92-76 loss to the Utah Jazz.

White is vying for more playing this season, especially with Kawhi Leonard’s future with the Spurs uncertain.

Young, this year’s No. 5 overall pick, continued to struggle in Utah, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting. In two games the former Oklahoma star is just 9 of 36 from the field, including 2 of 16 from 3-point range. Young had three assists and three turnovers.

Young averaged 27.4 points last season for the Sooners.

Jeff Ledbetter had 16 points and three 3-pointers, and Amida Brimah had eight points and 11 rebounds for San Antonio (1-1). The Spurs rested first-round draft pick Lonnie Walker IV.

John Collins had 19 points and first-round pick Omari Spellman had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Hawks (0-2).

Derrick Jones Jr. had 21 points and Duncan Robinson added 19 to lead the Heat (1-1). Lakers first-round draft picks Svi Mykhailiuk had 12 points and Moritz Wagner had eight points and five turnovers. Los Angeles is 0-2.

Wayne Seldon and Kobi Simmons each had 20 points. No. 4 overall pick Jaren Jackson Jr. had 10 points and eight rebounds after a dominating performance the night before when he scored 29 points on eight 3-pointers for Memphis (2-0).

The Jazz (1-1) rested first-round pick Grayson Allen.

First-round draft pick Jacob Evans had a team-high 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting, adding five rebounds and two steals for the defending NBA champions.

Marvin Bagley III, the No. 2 pick in the draft, was held to seven points on 3-of-16 shooting with seven rebounds for the Kings (1-1). Justin Jackson had 20 points, but the Kings only shot 27.5 percent from the floor.

LeBron James wasn’t ready to go home or to Philadelphia or Los Angeles.

He’s heading to Toronto, bringing a Cavaliers team that isn’t done yet.

Unwilling to sit despite battling leg cramps in the second half, James scored 45 points and got some much-needed help from his teammates in Game 7 to stay unbeaten in the opening round of the NBA playoffs, leading the Cavaliers to a 105-101 win on Sunday over the Indiana Pacers, who pushed the game’s best player to the breaking point.

Following the game, an exhausted James said the series took a physical toll.

”I’m burnt right now,” he said. ”I’m not thinking about Toronto right now until tomorrow. I’m ready to go home. Can we? I’m tired. I want to go home.”

James added nine rebounds, seven assists and played over 43 minutes while improving to 13-0 in the first round. He kept Cleveland’s strange season alive – for the time being – but it took everything the 33-year-old and the Cavs had to hold off the Pacers, who came in confident after a 34-point win in Game 6.

But James, who at times seemed to be playing the Pacers by himself in the series Chad Thomas Color Rush Jersey , pulled the Cavs back from the brink of elimination and at least delayed any more talk about impending free agency.

”Amazing,” Indiana’s Victor Oladipo said of James. ”He did what he always does. It’s not really shocking. He’s the best in the world, and that’s what the best does and now I gotta work to get on that level.”

The Cavs will open the conference semifinals on Tuesday at top-seeded Toronto.

Early in the game, James looked at agent Rich Paul sitting courtside and told him he wasn’t coming out. James then played the first 35 minutes before heading to the locker room with one minute left in the third to be treated for what he said was ”a little minor injury.” James said he was urged to get IV fluids but turned them down.

Nothing was going to keep James off the floor in what some Cleveland fans feared could have been his last game with the franchise.

He fought through the fatigue. He had no choice.

”It felt like a Game 7,” he said. ”It was like, your mind is thinking like, `OK, besides the two I played in the Finals, you start thinking like, is this it? Could this be it?’ That’s just human nature. And then the other side of my brain was like, `Let’s go make something happen. Let’s go, that’s what you here for. You’re here to make plays, you’re the leader.”’

The Cavs got a huge lift from Tristan Thompson, who played just 24 minutes in the first six games but made a rare start as Cavs coach Tyronn Lue used his 34th different starting lineup this season. Thompson added 15 points and 10 rebounds, Kevin Love made four 3-pointers , and George Hill returned after missing three games with back spasms to score 11 in 19 second-half minutes.

”Five guys in double figures,” said Lue, who has taken heat for some decisions in the series. ”But I’m just happy Tristan, because he’s been here with us for so long and been through all of the things we’ve been through over the course of the last four years, and to step in and play the way he did, I’m just so happy for him.”

Oladipo scored 30 and Darren Collison had 23 for the Pacers, who were still within four in the final minute before a cutting James scored on a bullet pass from Kyle Korver with 30 seconds left.

”Best receiver in the NBA,” Korver said of James. ”Just got to put it up there for him.”

Oladipo hit a 3 at the horn and was immediately embraced by James, who had never played a first-round Game 7 and was in jeopardy of seeing an eighth trip to the Finals end quickly.

”Honestly, I think we were the better team, and they had the best player in the world,” Pacers forward Trevor Booker said.

It was the first Game 7 in Quicken Loans Arena history, and Cleveland fans were on edge from the start.

A loss would not only have ended the Cavs’ season earlier than expected and their reign as three-time conference champs, but it would have pushed James closer to free agency. He’s expected to opt out of his contract in July to test the market, and there’s already a line of teams stretching from Philly to L.A. looking to sign the three-time champion.

His stay in Cleveland isn’t quite complete.

After the Cavs were rocked in Game 6 Ty Montgomery Jersey , Lue knew he needed to shake things up, so he started players he trusts most. Korver got the nod along with James, Love, Smith and Thompson – the four holdovers from the three Finals teams.

”I just think in Game 7, go with the guys who’ve been here, who’ve been through it all and know what it takes,” Lue said.

Despite the loss, the Pacers felt great about their season.

”If y’all don’t respect the Indiana Pacers now, I have no respect for you,” Oladipo said. ”Nobody thought we would be here.”

Lance Stephenson, an eight-year pro in his second tour with Indiana, was especially impressed with the team’s young players.

”This team was amazing,” he said. ”We brought it every night. There was no drama all season and everybody kept a positive attitude at all times. The future is bright.”

Concrete barriers and chain-link fencing are going up around the site of the Super Bowl in downtown Minneapolis Authentic Joe Thornton Jersey , where a contingent of local, state and national agencies is working to ensure that the game and dozens of related events are safe.

The downtown location of the Feb. 4 title game has presented challenges for authorities, who have had to get creative as they carved a secure perimeter around businesses and a major hospital near U.S. Bank Stadium. But it’s not the first time the Super Bowl has dealt with the challenges of a city center, and authorities who have spent roughly two years thinking about every possible scenario say they are prepared.

”We’re ready for anything that may come our way,” Minneapolis Police Commander Scott Gerlicher said. ”It’s about not just feeling safe, but making sure people are in fact safe.”

Gerlicher, whose department is overseeing security, said this Super Bowl will have the largest deployment of federal resources yet. That’s because Minneapolis has a relatively small department – less than 900 officers compared with the roughly 5,000 in Houston, where last year’s game was held – and needed more personnel.

Dozens of other cities are sending officers too, and the Minnesota National Guard has been activated. An additional 10,000 volunteers are being trained to spot suspicious activity.

Visitors can expect to see increased police patrols, bomb-sniffing dogs, helicopters, officers in tactical gear, and that chain-link and concrete fence around U.S. Bank Stadium.

Plenty of technology such as motion detectors, closed-circuit cameras and air particle sensors will be operating behind the scenes. Giant machines are being used to scan shipments to the stadium. Extra security cameras will be sprinkled around the city Adidas Carey Price Jersey , and NFL-sanctioned events will have metal detectors. Teams will be in place to react to whatever comes up.

”Our efforts are to make sure that it’s a warm and inviting atmosphere. But make no mistake about it – there are tons of watchful eyes from the law enforcement and public safety sectors,” said Alex Khu, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Minnesota and the federal coordinator for this year’s Super Bowl.

Because of the dense area around the stadium, some security screening will be happening off-site. They also had to figure out how to secure Super Bowl Live, a largely free-flowing, 10-day outdoor event that’s open to the public. Meanwhile, some events are being held in nearby St. Paul and at the Mall of America in Bloomington, while team hotels, practice facilities – and transportation to and from – also must be secured.

Jeffrey Miller, former senior vice president and chief security officer for the NFL, said each host city faces different challenges. In Minneapolis, perhaps the biggest is the weather. He said security staff may need to be doubled or tripled to keep people from being exposed to dangerous elements for a prolonged time.

”That’s a challenge, and it’s a costly one you don’t have if playing in San Diego,” he said.

Miller said setting up a perimeter around a downtown venue is more difficult than setting one up around a stadium surrounded by parking lots. Architects, engineers and other experts are part of the planning. For fans, he said, there are advantages to being downtown and close to the action.

”The NFL is really good at trying to balance security needs with the fan engagement part of the equation Mattias Janmark Jersey ,” he said.

Miller said officials also have to take into account recent world events – meaning the possibility of a terror attack.

Joe Rivers, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI in Minneapolis, said a threat assessment for the game has included analyzing attacks around the world. He cited the May bombing of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, the Oct. 1 shooting at an outdoor concert in Las Vegas and the Oct. 31 vehicle attack on a New York City bike path. Without providing detail, Rivers said authorities used those attacks to shape their plans.

Local history must also be considered. Minneapolis has seen dozens of young men travel to Somalia or Syria to join extremist groups over the past decade. There also has been a stabbing attack at a central Minnesota mall and a more recent bombing of a local mosque.

”It’s impossible for us to ignore the historical cases that we’ve had here and the type of threats … that we’ve addressed,” Rivers said.

He said there is no credible threat to the Super Bowl, and authorities are continuing to gather intelligence. Rivers said his main concerns are low-tech threats, such as someone driving a vehicle into or firing a weapon at a crowd.

”Not to alarm anyone, but it’s not hard to come by weapons in this country and with where our venues are located and things like that, there’s no way we can possibly secure every single floor of every single building that can see a venue or can overlook a crowd, so those are concerns, yes,” he said.

Fans attending Super Bowl events can help by staying vigilant. In addition to calling 911, people who see something suspicious can call 1-800-CALL-FBI. In the event of something like the Boston Marathon bombing, the FBI has created a website where witnesses can upload videos and photos so the FBI can gather evidence quickly.

”Obviously, the best case scenario is that we hope that we do all of this … and no one never even realizes all the legwork that went into it on the front end Alex Burmistrov Jersey ,” Rivers said. ”They just show up, have a good time, and leave and go home.&

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys had another efficient preseason showing.

Andy Dalton bogged down a bit with his Cincinnati Bengals.

Prescott led a pair of scoring drives in three possessions, capped by a scrambling 6-yard scoring pass to Terrance Williams, before the Bengals rallied after halftime for a 21-13 exhibition victory Saturday night.

The Bengals had just two first downs in three Dalton-led possessions a week after he threw for two touchdowns with an offense that was revamped after finishing last in the NFL. One of the first downs was on Dalton’s 13-yard scramble after the Bengals (2-0) started with a pair of three-and-outs.

A week after throwing a 30-yard touchdown to rookie Michael Gallup on his only drive of the preseason opener in San Francisco, Prescott was 10 of 15 for 86 yards. The TD drive for a 10-0 lead was kept alive by an 8-yard slant to Gallup, who reached out for a nice catch inside the Cincinnati 10.

The concern for the Cowboys (0-2) was the status of four-time Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin, who left early on what would have been his last drive with a knee injury.

Owner Jerry Jones said an MRI was planned Sunday and he was optimistic about the outcome. Martin was injured when he bent down to block cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick in the open field on a run by Rod Smith. Martin was on the sideline in street clothes late in the game.

“I just want to say we’ve got more to gain from (the MRI), but from what we’ve seen, I’ll sleep good tonight on Martin,” Jones said.

Dalton finished 5 of 7 for 41 yards, with his final drive stalling near midfield.

On Cincinnati’s first offensive play after Dalton left, Dallas defensive end Taco Charlton forced a fumble on a short completion to Tyler Boyd, with cornerback Byron Jones getting the recovery.

“We’ve got things we can work on, attacking the football, throwing balls down the field ,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “We had opportunities. We just missed the timing of it and we’ve got to be better at those things.”

The Cowboys forced two turnovers after getting three against the 49ers. The highlight was Chidobe Awuzie’s leaping interception , which he tipped to himself along the sideline late in the first half.

Cincinnati’s first points came on backup kicker Jonathan Brown’s 55-yard field goal in the third quarter.

The Bengals went ahead 11-10 when Tra Carson scored on a 2-yard run and Jeff Driskel threw a 2-point conversion pass to John Ross. Matt Barkley’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Brian Hill wrapped up the scoring midway through the fourth quarter.

Dallas defensive end Randy Gregory played for the first time since the finale of the 2016 regular season. He missed all of last season after getting suspended three times in 2016 for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. Gregory didn’t show up in the defensive stats but pressured Dalton on a third-down misfire to an open A.J. Green on Cincinnati’s opening possession.

With star running back Ezekiel Elliott sitting again for Dallas, Smith had 13 carries in the first 18 minutes, finishing with 49 yards. His workload was helped by a nearly nine-minute drive to Williams’ touchdown. Bengals starter Joe Mixon got just four carries for 8 yards.

The work in progress that is the overhauled offensive line for the Bengals remains that way, this time after fired line coach Paul Alexander was watching from the opposing sideline after getting hired by Dallas. Cedric Ogbuehi was at right tackle to start the second half when gave up a sack to Charlton while getting called for holding. Cincinnati running backs had just 7 yards on six carries before halftime.

The Cowboys were standing for the national anthem in the first preseason home game, “toe on the line” as owner Jerry Jones declared they would be in his opening remarks at training camp last month. The Dallas players, with some coaches sprinkled in, were single file on the sideline, spanning about 50 yards. As usual, all the Bengals were standing.

Bengals: Rookie CB Davontae Harris was ruled out with a knee injury in the first half. … TE C.J. Uzomah sustained a cut to his face early in the game, but came back with a 23-yard catch in the first half.

Cowboys: S Xavier Woods left with a hamstring injury. … Rookie RB Bo Scarbrough, a seventh-round pick out of Alabama, went to the locker room with a hip injury. … DE Datone Jones and S Jameill Showers left with knee injuries.

For “dress rehearsal” week, the Bengals will be at Buffalo and the Cowboys will be home against Arizona. Both games are next Sunday.

Last year Youth Albert Wilson Jersey , after the Steelers and running back Le'Veon Bell failed to strike a long-term deal before the mid-July deadline for doing so, Bell stayed away as long as possible. He showed up eventually on Labor Day, signed his franchise tender, and made the full $12.1 million.

This year, if the Steelers and Bell don’t do a long-term deal by Monday at 4:00 p.m. ET, many presume he’ll do the same. And while it’s useful for Bell to have the Steelers think it will happen that way (since it creates more of an incentive to sign him), there’s a case to be made for Bell showing up for training camp and the preseason.

If Monday’s deadline passes without Bell signing a long-term deal, Bell will have a clear path to the open market in March 2019, because the Steelers would have to apply the quarterback tender if he’s franchise-tagged a third time. So if that’s the post-July 16 scenario Ravens Authentic Jerseys , Bell arguably would have an incentive to be as prepared as possible to have the best season he can, maximizing his value as he prepares for his better-late-than-never shot at unrestricted free agency.

Last year, Bell finished with 1,291 rushing yards and 655 receiving yards. But he struggled out of the gates, with 32 yards rushing in the season opener, an average of 3.2 yards per carry in the team’s first two games, and only one total touchdown through three weeks.

Bell finally got it going in Week Four, with 144 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards Chiefs Elite Jerseys , and a pair of touchdowns against the Ravens in Baltimore. If the slow start can be attributed in any way to Bell showing up six days before the first Sunday of the season, maybe Bell would have had an even bigger 2017.

The other side of this one, of course, is that 1,946 yards from scrimmage would be more than good enough to maximizing his earnings in March, and that showing up for camp and the preseason would serve only to present more opportunities to suffer the kind of injury that would keep him from cashing in.

Either way, the analysis changes once the possibility of a long-term deal evaporates. For now, Bell needs the Steelers to think he won’t show. After Monday, Bell would be wise to revisit that stance.

Nobody enjoys being on a team and having to carry around dead weight. Every individual on a team is expected to contribute in some way or another; it just isn鈥檛 fair to expect certain team members to make up for the lack of input from their teammates. In the NHL Colts Cheap Jerseys , teams are comprised of a variety of different players with different skillsets. Successful teams are the ones who are able to balance offense, defense, special teams and goaltending. Not all players are expected to provide the same amount of talent, leadership or hard work, but that is also why some players are paid more than others. And no one- not coaches, management, teammates or fans- no one enjoys having an underachieving, overpaid hockey player in their midst.

We鈥檝e compiled a list of the least productive players, or 鈥淔reeloaders鈥?on each of the 31 NHL teams. In professional hockey terms Authentic Terrelle Pryor Sr. Jersey , a 鈥淔reeloader鈥?isn鈥檛 necessarily the player with the least points on the team, or the one with the least ice time. Defensive specialists or penalty killers will obviously have lower offensive statistics than offensive players or those who are put on the power-play. To us, 鈥淔reeloaders鈥?are the players who do not produce in the ways that they are paid to. It seems blatantly obvious to us, but players who aren鈥檛 expected to contribute as much as others shouldn鈥檛 be paid as much.
