ATTLEBORO, Mass. Cheap NBA Jerseys Authentic . -- New court records say that an associate of Aaron Hernandez told police the former New England Patriot put guns in a box in his basement after returning from the industrial park where his friend was fatally shot. An affidavit released by Attleboro District Court says Carlos Ortiz told investigators Hernandez put firearms in the black box after Odin Lloyds killing. The document indicates one was a small gun Ortiz handed Hernandez after they returned home with another associate, Ernest Wallace. Ortiz said he earlier saw Hernandez with an additional "large handgun." Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 about a mile from Hernandezs North Attleborough, Mass., home. His attorneys have said the case against him is circumstantial and they are confident he will be exonerated. Authorities believe Lloyd was killed with a .45-calibre Glock, which hasnt been recovered. Prosecutors say video surveillance from Hernandezs home before and after the killing shows him holding a gun that appears to be a Glock. Police divers have been searching this week in a lake in Bristol, Conn., Hernandezs hometown. Authorities have declined to comment on the search, but have confirmed it is linked to the investigation. Prosecutors have not said who fired the fatal shots. But court records released in Florida say Ortiz told investigators Wallace said it was Hernandez. The new documents released in Massachusetts indicate authorities seized a cellphone and credit and bank cards from a relative of Hernandez, identified as Tanya Singleton-Valderamma, of Bristol. Ortiz told investigators he and Wallace drove to Bristol after Lloyds killing and that he was dropped off at Singleton-Valderammas house, according to the affidavit. Ortiz said he discussed Lloyds killing with her. The records say that Singleton-Valderamma later purchased with a credit card, under a previous name, a Greyhound ticket from Macon, Ga., to Miami, Fla., and that Wallace travelled on a bus between those two points. He later turned himself in in Miramar, Fla., where his parents live, and is being held in Massachusetts on a charge of accessory to murder after the fact. The affidavit says it is not known how Wallace travelled from Connecticut to Georgia. Ortiz is facing a gun charge in connection with the case. Both Ortiz and Wallace have pleaded not guilty. Hernandez is being held without bail and is next due in court on Aug. 22 for a probable cause hearing. Stitched Nike NBA Jerseys . Some phrases are versatile enough, or maybe just vague enough, to be glowing praise and cutting criticism -- both, or either, all at the same time. Like, say, this one:Rick Pitino is one of a kind.It isnt easy to summarize the breadth of three-decade coaching careers. In Pitinos case, its almost impossible. But if there is a phrase up to the job, it is that one -- enough to include both the basketball brilliance and the off-court seediness that have in recent years dueled for prominence in Pitinos story. The sordid side scored its latest victory last October, when former escort Katina Powells book, Breaking Cardinal Rules, alleged that former Louisville assistant coach Andre McGee used cash and tickets to pay escorts to have sex with recruits and players in the player dormitories of Pitinos program. On Thursday, it pushed its way to the front once more. In a notice of allegations sent to Louisville president Neville Pinto, the NCAA Committee on Infractions alleged that Pitino -- while not complicit nor charged with any direct violation himself -- did not monitor his assistant coach and failed to actively [look] for red flags. In other words: Pitino didnt know, but he should have.Overall, the notice was a minor victory for Louisville, as ESPNs Dana ONeil explained; the school avoided charges of lack of institutional control and failure to monitor, which have traditionally led to the committees most severe penalties. But the NCAAs reasonable insistence on holding coaches responsible for what happens at their programs -- the same way, say, a bank CEO is responsible for the widespread scamming of customers -- is likely to bind Pitino to the words sex and scandal in the popular consciousness long after his career is done.Because its not the first time. Before there was Katina Powell, there was Karen Cunagin Sypher. In 2009, Pitino revealed that he had been the target of an extortion attempt by Sypher and her husband, Louisville equipment manager Tim Sypher, shortly before the two were arraigned and charged in U.S. District Court. The FBI was involved, Pitino announced at the time and ... no, seriously: The FBI was involved.College sports can throw its fair share of David Lynch-ian weirdness at the wall, but this was something new. Later, in court, Pitino admitted to having sex with Cunagin Sypher at a Louisville restaurant, then giving her $3,000 when she later asked for money for an abortion. The legal process forced Pitino to reveal personal details on a nightmarishly embarrassing scale, to say nothing of the moral chastisement shoveled his way.It was easy then -- as it is now -- to forget the reason why Pitino kept his job in the wake of the Sypher disaster: Because hes an incredible basketball coach. Now 64 years old, on the eve of his 31st season as a ccollegiate head coach, Pitino has won 743 games, averaged 24. Authentic Nike NBA Gear. 7 wins per season, claimed 10 regular-season conference titles, 12 conference tournaments, 53 NCAA tournament victories. He is the only man in NCAA history to lead three different programs to a Final Four and?the only one to win national titles at two different schools. His first, at Kentucky, popularized a demoralizing full-court press, a tactic so effective, with a team so talented, that both Pitino and the Boston Celtics thought it could work in the NBA. It didnt, and after four seasons Pitino returned to college basketball, this time at UKs hated rival.Nearly two decades after his first, Pitino would win his second championship. The Untouchables 1996 title was brute force; the 2013 triumph was a tour de force, a showcase for the more subtle, more flexible defensive mastery Pitino wields like a magic wand. The Cardinals have ranked among the nations five best defenses in each of the past six seasons, and eight of the past 10, and they have done so with merely good, but never overwhelming, talent. Pitino doesnt press as much as he used to, though his teams can. They play a lot of zone, but also a lot of man, and a lot of in-between. Occasionally, Pitino will clap his hands, or stomp his foot, and in an instant his defenders will execute a perfect half-court trap -- almost as if the coach was queuing commands in a video game.He might be the greatest defensive mind in the history of the college game. That is not an exaggeration. At a news conference Thursday, as Pitino insisted he was not guilty of failing to monitor his staff (Im guilty of trusting someone, Pitino said), the coach rattled off a long list of his former assistants: Billy Donovan, Mick Cronin, Andy Enfield, Jim OBrien, Frank Vogel, Herb Sendek, Tubby Smith. The point was about trust, but the reminder was implied: The mans legacy as a coach runs as deep and wide as any in the sport. That is how he will be remembered.Yet there will also be the other side. It will be nearly impossible to shake entirely.Odds are, this season or (more likely) next, Pitino, yet another legendary coach staring down some form of scandal in the twilight years of his career, will face some sort of suspension, and will be forced to watch his team from home. The defense he will see -- not man, not zone, maybe both, maybe neither -- will be the kind only he could have devised. The scandal that forced him to that vantage in the first place will be seedier than any college basketball scandal since the last -- even weirder -- scandal involving Rick Pitino. He really is one of a kind. This is a compliment. It is also not. CHICAGO -- When Theo Epstein first joined the Chicago Cubs as the teams president in 2011, he said every chance to win would be considered sacred. Wholesale Air Max 90 .But even with the Cubs maintaining a healthy lead in the National Leagues Central Division, Epstein knows he cant afford to take anything for granted. So when the Cubs traded for what Epstein called a game-changer in highly sought-after closer Aroldis Chapman from the New York Yankees Monday, Epstein said it improved the Cubs chances of capturing a World Series title this fall. The goal is to win three postseason series and thats not an easy thing to do, Epstein said. You need dynamic players and we felt like we could really benefit from an elite talent -- a game-changing type pitcher like Aroldis Chapman. In 31.1 innings this season with the Yankees, Chapman has converted 20 of 21 save opportunities and has posted a 2.01 ERA with 44 strikeouts.Chapman is set to join the Cubs Tuesday before his new team faces its crosstown rivals, the Chicago White Sox, in the second of a four-game series. Kyle Hendricks (9-6) will start for the Cubs and will face James Shields (4-12).The Cubs bullpen was a high priority heading into next weeks trade deadline and Epstein believes adding Chapman will be a positive add-on moving forward.I cannot wait to take the mound a Wrigley Field and look forward to helping my teammates deliver a championship to Chicago, Chapman said in a statement Monday that also expressed regret for his role in a domestic violence incident that led to a 30-game suspension.Cubs manager Joe Maddon hasnt yet decided how adding Chapman to the Cubs bullpen would impact his staff of relief pitchers. Maddon said each would be bumped up an inning, including current closer Hector Rondon. In the sixth, seventh and eighth (innings), it really opens things up, Maddon said. ... (Chapman) is a unique pitcher, hes unique with his ability to throw the ball that hard regularly. The White Sox have already seen Chapman in May when Chapman picked up his second and third saves. Manager Robin Ventura said in a series that already has a lot of build-up due to the in-town rivalry, his hitters will know what to expect.Hes tough -- he throws hard, Ventura said Monday. Its a live arm and its a nice addition to have. Well definitely have to turn it up when hes pitching.Ventura said the White Sox have already moved on from an incident involving Chris Sale, who will start in the series finale Thursday at Wrigley Field. Sale was suspended for five days after cutting up 1976 throwback jerseys the White Sox were to have worn on Saturday when Sale was scheduled to pitch. The incident wont impact how the White Sox compete against the Cubs, Ventura said.Guys have seen a lot of stuff and its about playing, Ventura said. It proved to be important, too. The two-run shot by the Yankees second baseman gave his team the lead in the third inning, and that was just about all the offence Hiroki Kuroda needed on the mound. He pitched into the eighth inning as New York beat Kansas City 4-2 to finish off a three-game sweep. "This ballpark is big," Cano said. "I mean, this is a tough place to hit home runs." Cano, of course, was captain of the AL squad for last years derby in Kansas City, and had said he would choose the Royals Billy Butler for his team. But he went back on his word, and was booed lustily by the home crowd while failing to hit a single home run himself. The jeers continued during the All-Star game, and didnt let up when the Yankees returned to town for their only visit this season -- at least, until Cano finally went deep. "Hes just a really good hitter," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Thats probably the best way to say it. Hes just a really good hitter." Lest he need any advice on going deep in Kansas City, he might try asking Vernon Wells. The Yankees outfielder homered for the second straight game on Sunday, helping to pace a New York offence that scored just enough for Kuroda (5-2) to win for the fifth time in six decisions. He allowed only a sacrifice fly by the Royals Alex Gordon and an RBI groundout by Alcides Escobar over 7 2-3 innings. The right-hander at one point went 15 batters without allowing a hit, and was so fired up that he argued with plate umpire Laz Diaz over a call in the eighth inning. "I guess it was the heat of the moment," Kuroda said through a translator, without relaying exactly what he said to Diaz. "I was fired up. Its not something I would normally do." David Robertson retired Billy Butler to end the Royals eighth-inning rally, and Mariano Rivera worked around a leadoff single in the ninth to remain perfect in 15 save opportunities. Rivera has converted his last 29 chances against the Royals dating to Aug. 18, 1998, his longest active streak against any team. His only other blown save against them happened in 1996. "Its amazing. He just continues to do it," Girardi said. "Anyone who wants to argue hes not the greatest closer of all time, I dont know who it is." Ervin Santana (3-2) gave up Canos two-run shot in the third inning, Wells solo homer two pitches laterr and an RBI single by Wells in the fifth. Cheap Air Max 90 Store. He departed with one out in the sixth and with the Royals well on their way to their sixth loss in their last seven games. "I didnt have my best stuff today, but I just tried to keep my team in the ballgame," he said. "Just a couple of pitches. Thats how it is against the Yankees." Santana, who hadnt lost since his season debut April 3 at the White Sox, began his career 5-1 against the boys in pinstripes. Hes now 0-6 in his last nine starts against them. The Royals struck first when Jarrod Dyson doubled leading off the game. He advanced to third on a bunt by Escobar and then scored on Gordons sacrifice fly. That was all theyd get off Kuroda until the eighth inning. New York pulled ahead in the third when Chris Stewart singled and Cano pounded the first pitch he saw over the bullpen in right field. It was his sixth career homer off Santana, two more than the All-Star second baseman has had against any other pitcher. It was especially gratifying given his history at the K. Cano was the captain of the AL squad for last years Home Run Derby in Kansas City, and had said he would choose Butler for his team. But he went back on his word, and was booed lustily by the Royals home crowd while failing to hit a single home run himself. The jeers continued during the All-Star game, and didnt let up when the Yankees returned to town for their only visit this season -- at least, until Cano finally went deep. Wells, who hit the go-ahead two-run homer on Saturday, followed with a solo shot, and then drove in Brett Gardner with a single down the third-base line in the fifth inning. That was enough to ensure the Royals would be swept for the first time this season. "I dont know the reasoning behind it," Royals manager Ned Yost said, "but youre just one hit away from opening up the flood gates. Sometimes that one hit in a crucial situation just relaxes everybody and all of a sudden you go on an offensive tear for a weak or 10 days. So we just wait for that to happen." The ”Death Lineup” breathed new life into the Golden State Warriors.

It was yet another reminder: In the NBA playoffs Authentic Geron Christian Jersey , where even a brief downward slide can be enough to end a season, even the best teams won’t hesitate when they feel a need to shake up their starting lineups.

Desperate times in the first round sent Cleveland to desperate lineup measures. Toronto, the team that finished with the NBA’s second-best regular season record, sought a spark by changing its starting five against the Cavs for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Utah showed Houston a new look Sunday in Game 4 of their West semifinal matchup, and while the Jazz slowed the high-powered Rockets at times they still fell into a 3-1 series deficit.

And then there’s the Warriors, who were coming off a big loss in Game 3 against New Orleans so they put their five best players – Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green – on the floor Sunday to start a game for the first time all season. The result was a rout , one that allowed the Warriors to head home with a 3-1 lead in their series against the Pelicans.

”Anytime we’ve been in any danger over the years, we’ve sort of gone to this lineup,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. ”The lineup worked or whatever, but it’s not about the lineup. It’s really not.”

All due respect to Kerr, he might be overstating that one.

Golden State’s starting five on Sunday – some call it ”The Death Lineup” because of how opponents tend to succumb against it Customized Miami Dolphins Jerseys , others prefer ”Hamptons Five” because Curry, Thompson, Iguodala and Green were the players who went to the Hamptons two summers ago in an effort to lure Durant to the Warriors – was absolutely dominant. charted them as being on the floor together for 18 minutes, during which they outscored the Pelicans 52-26.

Every other Warriors lineup used over the other 30 minutes played the Pelicans even, 66-66.

”We got momentum on our side really early,” Curry said. ”Every single person on the floor in that lineup is a playmaker. And so we have multiple options and just look for the best shot on every possession.”

It wasn’t exactly an in-case-of-emergency-break-glass move by the Warriors.

But these NBA playoffs have seen some of those as well.

Cleveland, which has a chance to win its way back into the Eastern Conference finals for the fourth consecutive year on Monday night if it can finish off a sweep of Toronto, almost didn’t even get to this round. Facing a win-or-else Game 7 in the first round, the Cavaliers put LeBron James, Kevin Love, J.R. Smith and Tristan Thompson – the four holdovers from their 2016 NBA championship team – out to start with Kyle Korver.

It was their first time starting together this season. James survived cramps, scored 45, and the Cavaliers held off Indiana to advance. They haven’t lost since.

”All five of us, we knew what we could get out of each other ,” James said afterward. ”We’ve been in situations before. We’ve played in big games before. That’s a comfort.”

Toronto could use some of that comfort.

Since James entered the league, only one No. 1 seed has gotten swept in the conference playoffs – Atlanta, in 2015, by James and the Cavaliers. Toronto shook up its lineup in Game 3 on Saturday night by trying Fred VanVleet instead of Serge Ibaka, but the Raptors fell into the dreaded 3-0 series deficit when James made a running bank shot at the buzzer for the win.

Everything is on the table for the Raptors now.

”You realize how big it is in this moment to get a victory,” Raptors star DeMar DeRozan said.

Sometimes, even subtle changes pay off nicely.

Boston inserted role player Semi Ojeleye into its starting lineup before Game 5 of the Celtics‘ first-round series against Milwaukee. Ojeleye’s role: Find a way to slow down Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Ojeleye was on the floor to help open the next three games, the first starts of his rookie season. He scored 10 points in those games, though none of that mattered much to the Celtics. His primary role was defense, since Antetokounmpo averaged 27.8 points on 62 percent shooting in the first four games of the series.

With Ojeleye in the lineup, Antetokounmpo averaged 23 points on 50 percent shooting in the last three games – and seemed particularly out of sorts in Game 5, the first one where the Celtics made the change.

Boston won that night by five points, and wound up surviving the series in seven games.

”He did a great job,” Antetokounmpo said Kody Clark Capitals Jersey , tipping his cap to Ojeleye. ”He played hard. He competed.”

And that’s the secret, Kerr said. It’s not about the names, he insists. It’s about how well they perform.

It’s become a bit of a running joke around the Warriors that Kerr won’t reveal his starting lineups until he absolutely has to, no matter how many times he is asked.

But this time, after the results on Sunday, Kerr isn’t holding his cards to his chest. Game 5 is on Tuesday night. The ”Death Lineup” starts.

After months of questions about the health of his heart sent him tumbling down the draft board until being taken by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round, Maurice Hurst was happy to get on the practice field and turn the conversation to football.

Hurst took part in his first practice as a pro Friday when the Raiders opened their rookie minicamp with three promising pass rushers they hope can bolster their defense.

"Just trying to get all of that stuff behind me, try to get people to stop talking about it," Hurst said. "You know, some sort of issue or all of those kinds of things 鈥?just try to move past that and focus on playing football and just having fun out there."

Hurst was one of the most productive defensive players in the country last season at Michigan. He had 5陆 sacks as an interior rusher and led all nose tackles and defensive tackles with 49 total quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.

Hurst was sent home from the combine after a heart issue was detected. Hurst said it was something he has dealt with for a long time and hadn't impacted him on the field. He said he has been cleared by doctors at Harvard and Michigan but that didn't prevent every team passing on a player projected as a first-rounder until the Raiders got him at 140th overall.

"I'm not going to answer any more health questions on Hurst," coach Jon Gruden said. "I realize there are a lot of ghost stories out there about unnamed sources that have their opinion on why we shouldn't have drafted him. This man played at Michigan. I know the head coach there. They've looked after him carefully. We're happy to have him in any round, and I'm excited for him and I'm really excited for him because he's an Oakland Raider and he's a great kid. I hope you just judge him on the field. He's been cleared medically and I'll just leave it at that."

The additions of Hurst, second-round defensive tackle P.J. Hall and third-round defensive end Arden Key give the Raiders help on a defensive front that has ranked near the bottom of the NFL in sacks in recent years despite the presence of edge rushers Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin.

The Raiders have the second fewest sacks in the NFL the past two seasons with just 56 鈥?one more than the last-place New York Jets. Nearly two-thirds of those sacks have come from Mack (21 1/2) and Irvin (15) Authentic Martavis Bryant Jersey , as the edge players have gotten almost no help from the inside rushers.

"It was a major priority," Gruden said. "It's a commodity that's hard to find. I've heard a lot of critics have talked about the risk involved. There is risk involved with every pick."

While Hurst faced questions about his health, Hall and Key had other concerns.

Hall had 42 sacks and 86 1/2 tackles for loss in his college career, but that came at the FCS level for Sam Houston State instead of against top-flight competition.

Gruden called Hall and Hurst the top two interior rushers in the draft, a position of major need after Oakland had just 1 1/2 sacks last year from players playing inside full-time.

Key proved himself at the highest level of college football for LSU in the SEC. He had 11 sacks in 2016 and 20 overall in three seasons in college, but he has had off-field problems and checked himself into rehab last spring.

If Oakland can get production out of those three players, that should go a long way in improving a defense that has been a weakness for the team in recent years.

"We all work together," Key said. "We have edge rushers that can get to the quarterback and the quarterback steps up. Inside guys get the sack. We have inside guys that get to the quarterback and make the quarterback roll out, the edge rushers get the sack. So we all work together."

NOTES: Fourth-round pick CB Nick Nelson sat out as he heals from a knee injury. ... The Raiders signed undrafted TE Marcus Baugh, WR Saeed Blacknall, LB Jason Cabinda, C Alex Officer, K Eddy Pineiro and FB Nick Sharga.

Marcus Mariota is proving to be a quick study with a new coach installing yet another offensive system for the Tennessee Titans.

Maybe Mike Vrabel will stick around for a while for Tennessee.

The Titans had a memorable opening series in Vrabel's preseason debut as coach before the Packers pulled away in a matchup of the backups for a 31-17 win on Thursday night.

"It was cool. I love this team Authentic Evander Kane Jersey , I do. I love these guys," Vrabel said about first time on the sideline leading the Titans.

Mariota was 2 of 3 for 42 yards with a 4-yard scoring pass to Darius Jennings on the opening drive of Mike Vrabel's first preseason game as Titans coach. Mariota also had one carry for 7 yards before leaving after the nine-play series.

It was a nice, if brief, start for Mariota. He's picking up a new scheme under his third head coach in four seasons.

"I thought we got into rhythm. We were able to go down and score a touchdown, which is always good. And hopefully we can just continue to build off of that," Mariota said.

Packers receiver Davante Adams needed just one series to show he was in midseason form before joining starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers and many other Packers starters on the sideline.

But backup Brett Hundley showed glimpses of improvement under center, going 9 of 14 for 108 yards and an 8-yard score to running back Jamaal Williams on the drive after Tennessee's score.

Hundley did his best impression of Rodgers by hitting Adams in stride down the left sideline for a 48-yard completion. The Packers' No. 1 receiver had a step on new Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler before getting pushed out at the 3, setting up Williams' score two plays later.

"I thought he had a couple drives, obviously the big play, and that's what this game is all about," coach Mike McCarthy said. "You've got to hit your big plays."

Hundley also threw an interception. But It was a promising outing overall for him after the Packers struggled to move the ball through the air when Hundley was under center while Rodgers was sidelined with a broken collarbone in 2017.

"I think for me this year Authentic Jeremy Kerley Jersey , the anticipation, it's the understanding, it's the game slowing down, so things are a lot easier," Hundley said.

Hundley, who is competing with DeShone Kizer for the backup job, got the start and played well into the second quarter. Kizer went 9 of 18 for 134 yards, hitting rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a 51-yard gain to the Titans 11 in the third quarter.

Veteran Kenny Vaccaro started alongside All-Pro Kevin Byard at safety and had one tackle after playing into the second quarter. Formerly of the Saints, Vaccaro signed on Saturday after the Titans lost starter Johnathan Cyprien last week to a torn left ACL.

"He's come in and really focused on learning his job, becoming a good teammate, practicing hard Mike Marjama Seattle Mariners Jersey ," Vrabel said about Vaccaro.

"Really what we wanted to accomplish as a football team was establish our play style, and secondly was just try to create as many opportunities as we possibly could for our players." 鈥?McCarthy.

Packers: S Jermaine Whitehead (back) left in the second quarter. S Josh Jones walked back to the locker room in the third quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. ... WR Randall Cobb (ankle) and DL Mike Daniels (quad) were among 18 Packers who did not dress.

There were no apparent displays of protest by players on either team during the national anthem.

This weekend’s series in Arlington, Texas, is a homecoming for Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story, who grew up coming to Texas Rangers games and is playing in the stadium for the first time with the goal of doing some damage to the team he used to root for.

Story had two hits and two RBIs in Colorado’s 9-5 win over Texas on Friday at Globe Life Park in his first big-league appearance in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The Rockies will send left-hander Kyle Freeland (6-6, 3.68 ERA) to the mound to try to clinch the series and Texas will counter with left-hander Mike Minor (4-4, 5.65).

Story, 25, is a graduate of nearby Irving High School. He entered Friday night’s game against the Rangers leading the National League with 50 RBIs, and was tied for fourth in the NL with 14 home runs and in total bases with 135.

After struggling with the bat and with strikeouts in the early part of the year, Story is hitting .388 (21-for-54) in June.

Story was injured in 2016 when the Rockies last played in Arlington and had to watch from the dugout during that series. He had about 200 friends and family in attendance Friday and they were very vocal.

“This is special — I grew up watching the Rangers here Adidas Mike Green Jersey ,” Story told before Friday’s game. “They were my team when I was younger – this was my Yankee Stadium growing up. Very exciting, lots of emotions for sure. It was tough I couldn’t play in ’16, but I’m looking forward to this.”

Friday’s win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Rockies, and the Rangers lost their seventh in a row.

Texas played without catcher Robinson Chirinos, who was suspended for a game after a pushing and shoving altercation at home plate on Wednesday with the Dodgers’ Matt Kemp.

Kemp decided to appeal his suspension, and Chirinos sat out the first game of the series against Colorado.

“I didn’t expect there would be suspensions,” Texas manager Jeff Banister said. “I thought in the scrum it was pretty benign, and it was over pretty quickly. The shoving match looked a little worse than it was. But Major League Baseball doesn’t want that environment in a game. That was taken into account.”

The Rangers’ backup catcher, Carlos Perez, had to leave Friday’s game in the second inning after sustaining a sprained ankle on a play at the plate. X-rays on Perez’s ankle later Friday were negative.

He was replaced by rookie catcher Jose Trevino, who played in his first major league game after being called up from Double-A Frisco on Friday afternoon.

Texas also played Friday’s game without right fielder Nomar Mazara because of a sore left wrist.

Freeland has been the Rockies’ best pitcher of late; in his last nine starts Cheap Avonte Maddox Jersey , he is 6-3 with a 2.93 ERA. He took the loss in an 8-3 defeat at home against Colorado on June 10 in his most recent start, working six innings while allowing four runs and four hits with four walks and eight strikeouts.

Freeland will be making his first career start against the Rangers.

Minor will make his 13th start of the season on Saturday. His four wins are tied for team lead and the most among Texas starters, He had a quality start in last outing, but has gone 1-3 with a 6.96 ERA in his past six starts to raise his season ERA from 4.36 to its current 5.65.

Minor will be working on extended six days’ rest because of off days Monday and Thursday. He last worked and took no decision in the Rangers’ 4-3 loss on June 9 at home against Houston. He is 3-2 with a 5.73 ERA in eight career appearance, six of them starts, against Colorado.

The first round is over. The U.S. is halfway to the Basketball World Cup.

The Americans wrapped up the first stage of the new qualifying format Sunday by beating Cuba 93-62 Youth Avonte Maddox Jersey , bouncing back from a loss in Mexico on Thursday to finish alone atop their group at 5-1.

Using G League players instead of the NBA stars they’ve been relying on to dominate for more than a decade, the Americans lost a game at the national team level for the first time since 2006 and were pushed a couple other times in the new qualifying format in which teams play home-and-away games against regional rivals.

They expect things to be just as difficult in the second round, which begins in September.

”We have really good players that are playing right now. We just don’t know who is going to be available,” coach Jeff Van Gundy said. ”But the point is we have to play better because the competition does get better.”

Reggie Hearn and Xavier Munford each scored 16 points for the Americans in their first game in Havana since 1991, when they earned a bronze medal in the Pan Am Games with a team that included Duke stars Christian Laettner and Grant Hill.

NBA players were introduced in the Olympics the next year and the Americans have almost always been able to count on a talent advantage since. But they shuttled in players from the G League for all three windows of games in the first round, and had two tough victories over Puerto Rico before the loss in Mexico City.

”We had lots of different guys participate and so the weakness is that we had a constant turnover of players,” Van Gundy said. ”But our strength is our defense and our 3-point shooting.”

Cuba led 28-24 after the first quarter Sunday before the U.S. quickly seized control with a 19-1 run to start the second.

The Americans plan to continue using G League players in the second round, when they move into a group that will feature Argentina, Uruguay and Panama, along with Puerto Rico and Mexico. The first-round record carries over Clay Matthews Packers Jersey , and the Americans will have to finish in the top three of that group or be the best fourth-place finisher from the Americas to qualify for the 2019 World Cup in China.

That tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2020 Olympics.

Last year it often seemed Miami Dolphins rookie defensive end Charles Harris didn’t have a prayer to reach the quarterback, and now he does.

The first-round draft pick from Missouri turned to his faith to shake the funk he found himself in last season when he totaled two sacks, which tied for 156th in the NFL.

”As a rookie, I was in a dark place,” he says. ”Now I’m cool. I understand grace.”

Harris says he’s optimistic he’ll fulfill his potential this season, and a week into training camp, so are the Dolphins.

”I actually think Charles Harris has probably had the best offseason of anybody on our team,” four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake says. ”He came back in tremendous shape. He has obviously been working on his strength; he has been working on his football. I think that’s definitely going to pay off when it comes time to put in the live bullets and get after the quarterback.”

Coach Adam Gase repeatedly defended Harris last season, saying the rookie was more disruptive than statistics would suggest. But the Dolphins were hoping for a bigger impact from the No. 22 overall pick in the draft.

Harris says off-the-field issues complicated his adjustment to the NFL. The Kansas City native says he struggled with the move to South Florida, and with the sudden wealth that accompanies a $6 million signing bonus.

”There was a lot of confusion Youth Markus Wheaton Jersey ,” he says. ”This offseason I just prayed a lot, prayed about my lifestyle, prayed about things off the field. Just like Revelation, I asked God for Solomon-like wisdom, and he blessed me with it. … I’m using my talents and not burying them. Last season I buried them.”

Dolphins defensive end Andre Branch, a second-round draft pick in 2012, says he can see the 6-foot-3, 250-pound Harris beginning to blossom.

”He’s a monster,” Branch says. ”He has always had talent, but it takes time. He was a rookie coming into a program where he’s expected to do a lot. He’s a high draft pick. I’ve been there. There are a lot of things on your shoulders Authentic Tanner Lee Jersey , and you’re young. You have no clue what to do and who to go to. But he’s coming into his own.”

Harris plays the deepest position on the roster. Along with Wake and Branch, two-time Pro Bowler Robert Quinn and veteran William Hayes are expected to be part of the rotation.

More pressure on the quarterback is mandatory if the Dolphins are to improve on last year’s 6-10 record. They had 30 sacks last season, the team’s lowest total in a decade, which is a big reason they gave up more points than all but three other teams.

Harris says he’s spending camp perfecting two or three pass-rush moves, preferring to polish them rather than add more that he doesn’t do as well.

Wake and Quinn make for great mentors, he says, because their styles are so different.

”They’re two different varieties,” Harris says. ”I’ve got a power rusher and a finesse rusher at the same time. I feel like I can combine both of them and be one of the greatest.”

Gase is encouraged by what he has seen lately from Harris, but taps the brakes on any soaring expectations, noting limitations on contact make it difficult to evaluate defensive linemen during practice.

”For me it’s hard sometimes Cheap Austin Corbett Jersey , because we’re asking these guys to stay away from the quarterback,” Gase says. ”Once we hit real games, then that’s going to be easier for us to say, `OK, here’s where we’re at with his development, and where do we need to go next?”’

The Alliance of American Football completed its awarding of franchises Thursday by placing a team in San Antonio.

Former San Diego Chargers coach Mike Riley will be the head coach and former Dallas Cowboys fullback Darryl "Moose" Johnston is the general manager.

San Antonio joins Atlanta Authentic Oren Burks Jersey , Orlando, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Phoenix, Memphis and Birmingham.

The Alliance will kick off its inaugural season the week after the Super Bowl and has a TV contract with CBS.

San Antonio is the eighth and final city for The Alliance's inaugural season, joining Orlando, Atlanta, Memphis Adidas Nicklas Backstrom Jersey , Salt Lake, Phoenix, San Diego and Birmingham.

"Not only does San Antonio have a large population of football fans, it has a first-class stadium to host them in," says Charlie Ebersol, co-founder and CEO of the league. "The Alamodome is a perfect backdrop for Alliance San Antonio, and we are eager to give this city a competitive team, led by coach Mike Riley Joe Namath Jersey Youth , that they can rally around and support.

Riley also has coached in the CFL and at Oregon State and Nebraska.

Aaron Donald is skipping another set of offseason workouts while his contract negotiations with the Los Angeles Rams drag on into their second year.

The All-Pro defensive tackle's teammates would like to see this standoff resolved before it has any chance to impact their promising season.

"Hey man, pay the man," cornerback Marcus Peters said. "You win the MVP? Come on now."

The NFL's Defensive Player of the Year was back home in Pittsburgh while the Rams began voluntary organized team activities at their training complex Monday. He also skipped the start of their offseason program in April.

He is missing the first steps in the assembly of a potentially impressive defense. Peters joined the Rams in the offseason along with fellow star cornerback Aqib Talib and defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh 鈥?but they haven't yet teamed up with Donald, who turns 27 on Wednesday.

"Aaron is a vet, man," Talib said. "He's going to take care of his own business. What's his business is his business."

Donald is due to make $6.89 million this season in the final year of his rookie contract, and the Rams theoretically could keep him for three additional years under a franchise tag. But he has been one of the NFL's top defensive linemen since his career began in 2014, and the Rams' front office has claimed it is eager to sign Donald to a long-term contract.

"It's kind of where it's been Cheap Orlando Brown Jr. Jersey ," coach Sean McVay said of the Rams' negotiation with Donald. "We're in constant dialogue and communication with his representation. It is something that we want to get resolved. As far as a timetable, don't really have any dates on that. I don't expect Aaron to be here until we get a resolution to that."

These negotiations still appear to be civil and respectful, despite their abnormal length. Donald has expressed little public frustration with the Rams' reticence to write the check he is seeking, while McVay and general manager Les Snead have scrupulously avoided any public criticism of the tactics that have kept Donald away from his teammates.

"He and I have had good dialogue," McVay said. "I spoke with him last week. This feels a lot different than last year. Certainly anytime that you have something where the team comes together, to have a player that's as important as he is here, you would prefer that. But it is voluntary. We understand that, and we have a lot of respect and understanding for what's going on."

Donald also skipped most of last year's offseason activities in his lengthy quest for a contract befitting his talent and accomplishments. That holdout lasted through training camp and the entire preseason while he attempted to land a new contract likely to make him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL.

He missed the Rams' season opener after reporting to the team one day before the game. Donald still was named the NFL's top defensive player despite appearing in only 14 games while Los Angeles roared to the NFC West title and the franchise's first postseason appearance in 13 years.

Donald matched his career high with 11 sacks last year while causing continual havoc to opponents' offensive lines and running games.

Although Donald clearly doesn't need the offseason program to thrive Authentic Ryan Getzlaf Jersey , particularly heading into his second season in coordinator Wade Phillips' scheme, he's missing out on the chance to bond with his teammates while working out his dynamic with Suh. The duo could be one of the NFL's most intimidating combinations this fall after Suh chose the Rams from among several suitors for his free-agent services.

The Rams' new defensive players finished their first day with new respect for McVay's offense, which took Los Angeles from worst to first in the NFL in scoring last year.

"We got an introduction to that McVay offense, and it's crazy," Talib said. "There's a bunch of movement, a bunch of speed on it. You've got to have your eyes in the right place."

The Rams' mandatory minicamp doesn't begin until June 12, following three weeks of voluntary workouts.

Marquette King has found a team will allow him to keep it real , seek his revenge and maybe pursue records.

"Denver is a punter's paradise," King said after signing a three-year, $7 million deal with the Broncos on Thursday, less than a week after his surprising release from the Oakland Raiders.

King said he doubts his oft-flagged on-field antics is what led new Raiders coach Jon Gruden to release him. He added, however, that "the cool thing about the Broncos is the people that work at the Broncos encourage you to be yourself. Players play a lot better when they can let their hair down and be themselves. It's cool. They encourage it."

King said he never had the chance to speak with Gruden before he was jettisoned.

"I just saw him on car commercials and stuff," King said with a laugh. "I get to see him two times a year."

And that was certainly a factor in King's decision to stay in the AFC West.

"I just wanted to find the best place that I thought I would fit," King said. "I think there is somewhat of a revenge factor in there Deion Sanders Jersey , too."

The sixth-year pro who had appeared in all of the Raiders' games since 2013, was a Pro Bowl alternate last season and a second-team All Pro in 2016. He's the only punter in NFL history to post at least a 40-yard net average in each of his first five seasons.

Last year, he posted a career-high 42.7-yard net punting average, and he expects to do even better at altitude.

King has averaged a whopping 50 yards a punt in his five games in Denver, where he'll replace Riley Dixon, who slumped last year after a solid rookie season. In 2016, King averaged 56.5 yards on eight punts in Denver's mile-high air.

"I've always enjoyed punting out here in the altitude just because the ball travels further," King said. "It's something I'm going to have to get used to Cheap Rashaad Penny Jersey , too. I definitely have to get a feel for my leg when it comes to putting the ball inside the corners and everything."

He said he plans to continue his celebrations following big punts in Denver, but aims to avoid the 15-yard flags that dogged him in Oakland.

"I'm still going to have fun. I'm still going to dance and still celebrate. I'm going to be me. Nothing is going to stop me from being me," King said.

"The flags 鈥?I got three flags two years ago and one flag last year 鈥?it's in the past. I'm just looking forward to doing my thing and making sure I'm working on my composure and doing the right things to making sure the team is in the best situation possible."

He knows he has to come up with a new ritual to replace his "Bucking Bronco" dance.

"Now it's time to find a new celebration because that was one when I was trying to troll y'all," King said on a conference call with Denver media. "Now I've got to find something else. It's definitely going to be a nice little dance. We'll figure something out."

And he realizes he'll have to pick out a new number, too, because boss John Elway's No. 7 isn't going anywhere.

"I've got to take him out to a nice steak dinner, but I don't think that's going to work. I was thinking about getting him a helicopter or something, a big gift Joseph Noteboom Jersey Rams ," King said. "But I don't think he's going to give that '7' up. I've got to figure out another number."

J.T. Realmuto had another big game before another small crowd Weston Richburg Jersey Elite , which probably didn’t help his cause much in the All-Star voting.

The Marlins‘ catcher homered in the fifth and singled to spark a game-winning rally as the Marlins beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 in 10 innings Monday.

Realmuto has 11 home runs and is batting .311 but ranks a distant fifth in NL All-Star fan voting.

”He’s a great player,” manager Don Mattingly said before the game. ”People just don’t know it yet.”

There weren’t many at Marlins Park to spread the word. Attendance was 6,004.

Brian Anderson walked against Ryne Stanek (1-2) to start the 10th and took third on Realmuto’s single. Yadiel Rivera followed with an RBI infield single.

Realmuto, hoping for his first All-Star appearance, said he has no hard feelings regarding the voting.

”We don’t have as many fans as other teams have,” he said. ”That’s how the fan vote goes. All I can do is go out there and play and let my numbers do the talking for me.”

The Rays lost for only the second time in 10 games, and allowed more than two runs for the first time in seven games Youth Trent Murphy Jersey , ending a franchise-record streak. Tampa Bay has lost 21 one-run games, most in the majors.

Realmuto’s solo homer put Miami ahead 2-1. The Rays’ C.J. Cron tied the game in the ninth with a two-out RBI double against closer Kyle Barraclough, who hadn’t given up a run since May 8 .

Miami had runners at the corners in the 10th with none out when Rivera pulled a one-hopper up the line . Third baseman Matt Duffy backhanded the ball and double-clutched in foul territory before making a wild throw home, with the play ruled a hit.

”I tried to make a desperation play,” Duffy said. ”I didn’t get a grip and tried to rush the transfer.”

Rivera, a reserve batting .198, entered the game in the ninth as a defensive replacement and came through with his second walk-off hit this season.

”We go home happy Cheap Geron Christian Jersey ,” he said. ”That’s the best part.”

Miami second baseman Starlin Castro tied a career high with four hits but also committed an error that led to an unearned run. Miguel Rojas had three hits, including a two-out RBI double in the second.

The Marlins’ Wei-Yin Chen allowed one run in six innings and it was unearned, lowering his ERA to 5.55.

”Today was a tough one,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. ”We didn’t have our best approach against Chen for whatever reason, but you look past that and figure that we tied the game off a really good pitcher in Barraclough.”

Tampa Bay’s Nathan Eovaldi gave up two runs in six innings. Drew Rucinski (3-1) pitched a perfect 10th for Miami.

On a clear, 86-degree night, the retractable roof was open for the 17th time this year Josh Jackson Packers Jersey , extending the franchise record. Marlins owner Derek Jeter watched from the second row and had plenty of elbow room.

The Rays trailed 2-1 to start the ninth but rallied against Barraclough, who entered the game with a streak of 20 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings.

Daniel Robertson led off with a single, and following a flyout and a forceout, Jake Bauers slid home from first on Cron’s double, barely beating the throw from left field.

Marlins RHP Drew Steckenrider was hit in the lower right leg by Cron’s comebacker in the seventh but stayed in the game and pitched a scoreless inning, and said afterward he was fine.

RHP Trevor Richards (2-5, 5.06) is expected to start Tuesday for the Marlins against LHP Brian Yarbrough (7-4 Russell Bodine Jersey Bills , 3.76).

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: S Morgan Burnett; LB Ahmad Brooks; CBs Davon House and Demetri Goodson; G Jahri Evans; LS Brett Goode; DL Quinton Dial; TE Richard Rodgers; OL Ulrick John; WR Jeff Janis.

NEEDS: Defense needs edge rush infusion, while veteran cornerback – or two – would also help, especially after Packers agreed to deal CB Damarious Randall to Browns for QB DeShone Kizer. He arrives to potentially bring more competition for backup quarterback job following Brett Hundley’s inconsistent performance while Aaron Rodgers was hurt. Tight end could be target again after Martellus Bennett was cut at midseason. Right side of offensive line is unsettled at guard with Evans hitting free agency and tackle Bryan Bulaga recovering from knee injury, though utility lineman Justin McCray could be in-house solution. New GM Brian Gutekunst could be more active in free agency than predecessor Ted Thompson.

D.J. Hayden and Don Carey are remaining teammates , just in another city.

The former Detroit defensive backs agreed to free-agent contracts with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday, according to a person familiar with negotiations.

Both players are expected to sign deals Thursday, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because NFL teams are prohibited from announcing signings until free agency officially begins Wednesday afternoon.

SiriusXM Sports reported that Hayden will sign a three-year deal worth $19 million, including $9.5 million guaranteed.

The 27-year-old Hayden replaces nickel cornerback Aaron Colvin, who reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with the Houston Texans on Tuesday.

Hayden has played in 61 games with Oakland (2013-16) and Detroit (2017), totaling 223 tackles, 35 pass breakups, three interceptions and 1 sacks.

Carey is expected to be a core special teams player for the Jaguars, who are looking to upgrade those units in 2018.

A sixth-round draft pick by Cleveland in 2009, Carey landed in Jacksonville when the Jaguars claimed him after being waived/injured. He started 10 games for Jacksonville in 2010 Authentic Mike Napoli Jersey , got cut the following year and ended up in Detroit. He has 117 tackles, nine pass breakups and three interceptions in 99 games.

Hayden and Carey will join one of the league’s best defenses, a unit that returns 10 starters from last season and expects to be even better while playing a second year together.

They are part of Jacksonville’s 2018 free-agent class that also includes All-Pro guard Andrew Norwell and speedy receiver Donte Moncrief, according to two other people familiar with negotiations. The Jaguars also are re-signing receiver Marqise Lee.

Norwell is expected to sign a five-year, $66.5 million contract that includes $30 million guaranteed, one of the people said. That would make him one of the highest-paid offensive linemen in the league.

Moncrief will sign a one-year deal worth $7 million, according to ESPN. Lee agreed to a four-year deal worth $38 million that includes $18 million guaranteed, another person said.

Lee and Moncrief will be counted on to try to fill the void left by losing former Pro Bowl receiver Allen Robinson, who is headed to Chicago.

Norwell will slide into Jacksonville’s offensive line at left guard, between left tackle Cam Robinson and center Brandon Linder.

Although Jacksonville led the NFL in rushing in 2017 Da'Ron Payne Youth Jersey , the running game stalled late in the season and barely was a factor in the playoffs.

Norwell should help make Jacksonville’s line, especially the left side, one of the best in the AFC. And Moncrief’s big-play ability could prevent defenses from stacking the line of scrimmage against running back Leonard Fournette.

Zach LaVine is staying in Chicago, with one of the biggest deals of free agency this summer now complete.

The Bulls on Sunday formally matched the four-year, $80 million offer sheet LaVine signed with the Sacramento Kings, a move that was expected almost from the instant the restricted free agent got the offer.

LaVine is one of only six free agents to get deals worth that much so far this summer, joining Chris Paul ($160 million), LeBron James ($153 million), Nikola Jokic ($148 million), Paul George ($137 million) and Aaron Gordon ($80 million). Phoenix’s Devin Booker signed a $158 million deal as well Chicago Bears Jerseys Womens , his coming in the form of an extension and not through a foray into free agency.

LaVine has missed 91 of a possible 162 games over the past two seasons because of injuries, and the Bulls will have some language in this contract protecting them if his surgically repaired left knee remains problematic.

”Zach showed a relentless work ethic in rehabbing his ACL injury to return to the court, and he has a visible passion for the game of basketball,” Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson said. ”We know that those attributes, along with his honed skills, will make him an impact player in this league for years to come. We’re thrilled to keep Zach on this Bulls team moving forward.”

LaVine appeared in only 24 games for the Bulls last season, averaging 16.7 points on 38 percent shooting. The Bulls acquired LaVine a year ago, as part of the trade that sent Jimmy Butler from Chicago to Minnesota.

”We’re excited now that we get to keep him,” Paxson said.

Deals have continued coming at a relatively slow pace since the July 1 opening day of free agency, when basically $1 billion in new contracts were agreed to in 24 hours – and only $400 million or so more in deals have been struck since.

Paul’s four-year Authentic Ian Thomas Jersey , $160 million deal to stay in Houston was officially signed Sunday. He announced that he agreed to the terms of that contract right at 12:01 EDT on July 1, when free agency was officially beginning.

Also Sunday, a pair of veteran centers found new homes.

Zaza Pachulia is signing a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the Detroit Pistons after starting 127 regular-season games over the last two seasons with the Golden State Warriors – helping them win championships in both seasons. And Brook Lopez has agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, after spending last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Both deals were confirmed to The Associated Press by people directly involved in the negotiations, both of whom spoke on condition of anonymity because neither had been formally announced by the clubs involved.

Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget underwent offseason foot surgery Dalton Schultz Jersey Cowboys , but head coach Anthony Lynn expects him back for training camp.

Liuget, who is suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, did not participate in the first day of the team’s mandatory minicamp Tuesday.

”We’re waiting for his foot to feel better. He had the surgery, he’s coming along fine,” Lynn said.

Liuget was limited to 12 games last season because of a toe injury, finishing with 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Liuget also missed the final five games of the 2015 season because of a foot injury.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The Winnipeg Jets have reached the stage in their season where they only have one goal for their final game — just don’t get hurt.

With second place in the Central Division locked up — they can’t catch Nashville for first and the Minnesota Wild Cheap Mark Andrews Jersey , who the Jets will play in the first round of the playoffs, are permanently entrenched in third — Saturday night’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks will serve little purpose other than maintaining good habits for the postseason.

Well, a couple of personal milestones are possible.

Right winger Patrik Laine is still in the running for the Maurice “Rocket” Richard trophy — he trails Alex Ovechkin in goals, 47 to 44.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has tied Tom Barrasso for the most wins ever by an American goaltender in a season with 43. He is expected to get the start against Chicago. Barrasso set the record with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992-93.

Laine, 19, who broke a seven-game goalless skid this week, has pretty much conceded the goal-scoring race to his boyhood idol.

“A lot of things can happen. But I don’t want to think about that. Because then it’s just going to be hard to play if you’re thinking about those kinds of things Isaiah Oliver Color Rush Jersey ,” he told The Winnipeg Sun.

“Those past couple of games I felt like the pucks were bouncing all over the place and just couldn’t get a handle on it. It just affects you when you’re not scoring and when you’re not getting points as a second-line guy. It’s inside your head.

“But my head is pretty strong. I’m not going to let those things affect my head and my game.”

The Jets got an injury scare in Thursday’s snoozer 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames when defenseman Josh Morrissey was sent sliding into the boards, back-first, by Michael Stone in the first period. Jets fans held their breath as Morrissey stayed down for a second and winced as he made his way to the bench. He played a regular shift for the remainder of the game.

Regardless of Saturday’s result, the Jets have already set a franchise record at 51-20-10. Chicago, meanwhile, has been one of the biggest disappointments of the 2017-18 campaign, following up its 50-win season last year with a record of 33-37-10 Joe Montana 49ers Jersey , good for last in the Central.

With any playoff aspirations long-gone, the big news out of the Blackhawks was that coach Joel Quenneville and general manager Stan Bowman, the architects of three Stanley Cup winners since 2010, will be back next season.

Team president Joe McDonough told a news conference that he believes in continuity.

“They’ve had an incredible body of success. We’re not tethered to the past. This has been a very disappointing year and our expectations are incredibly high. We’re not going to deviate from those expectations. But I believe both Stan and Joel are the guys that are going to bring this back,” he said.

This marks the second time that the Jets have qualified for the playoffs since moving from Atlanta in 2011. They were swept in four straight games by the Anaheim Ducks in 2015.

You have to go back to 1996, when that version of the Jets played the Detroit Red Wings in the first round, to find a Jets victory in the post-season. The Jets lost the series 4-2 Youth Jeremy Kerley Jersey , picking up their last win in Detroit, a 3-1 decision on April 26.

USA Football says 242 high schools contributed to the 256 players selected in the seven rounds of last month's NFL draft.

Lakewood High School in Florida and Serra High in California each had three players selected to lead the country.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Seth Jones?has no snacks at his?new place to offer a visitor. Wholesale China Jerseys . How about some water? The Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman throws open the refrigerator and searches in vain before acknowledging that water, the bottled kind, is among the many things he has failed to stock up on at the grocery store.Everything about Jones otherwise well-appointed condo in downtown Columbus -- including its expansive view of the local Triple-A baseball stadium, an urban park, and the arts and entertainment area near Nationwide Arena -- suggests hes a young man in transition. The condo, which came furnished, is owned by teammate Cam Atkinson.?The previous tenant?A big grin spreads across Jones face before he answers.Ryan Johansen, Jones said as he settled in for a chat at the kitchen island.?Kind of funny, right? The irony of renting the apartment that used to belong to the player for whom he was traded last season in one of the leagues blockbuster deals is not lost on Jones. Its simply another reminder of how much more complicated and interconnected life has become for the young star.Earlier in the afternoon, Jones and teammate Boone Jenner?delivered meals to less fortunate Columbus residents. They are the two leaders of a Blue Jackets team that is enjoying an unexpected revival this season. But they appear perfectly at ease with the elderly people to whom they are delivering hot meals, posing happily for pictures with folks who might not otherwise have any other human contact that day.At one stop, a woman who has just lost her brother sits on the couch with the two players, one hand holding firmly onto Jenners arm and the other just as firmly clenched on Jones shoulder as though she has known them forever and doesnt want them to leave. When they finally do depart, and head back to report for hockey duty, Jenner is asked about the Blue Jackets recent surge to the top of the Metropolitan Division standings. He suggested with a smile that its because Jones has been around for an entire season.Jenner is partly trying to crack wise about Jones, who is standing within earshot -- but hes also saying it because its true.As young stars assert themselves throughout the league this season, Jones finds himself -- at the tender age of 22 -- straddling the line between looking up to his Blue Jackets teammates and leading them.Hes a special kid, Columbus goalie?Sergei Bobrovsky said of Jones. Hes everywhere. Hes a great skater. Hes got good vision of the rink. Hes a good passer. When hes playing, everything is quiet. In your end youre calm, youre confident.Three years ago, I visited with Jones and his mother, Amy, at the home they were renting outside Nashville, Tennessee. Seth, whom the?Nashville Predators?had selected with the fourth overall pick in 2013 a few months earlier, had just turned 19 and was a couple of months into his first NHL season. The pair joked easily about how Seth needed to take out the trash, how Amy had rushed down to ice level to videotape her middle son during his first NHL warm-up, much to his eternal dismay, and the pinky promise Seth made that they would live together for the first three years of his NHL career.Jones negotiated an out clause from the promise last season and moved into a downtown Nashville condo while his mother stayed in the area but moved into a house closer to the city.?A few weeks later, as Jones sat at the bar of a Nashville steak house awaiting his appetizers, he got a call from Predators GM David Poile.Your GM doesnt call you for fun at night, Jones said.Dinner went by the boards, as Poile told Jones that he had been traded for Johansen, the fourth overall pick in 2010 and his old junior hockey teammate, in a blockbuster swap of franchise youngsters. Two hours later, Jones was in Columbus getting ready to play back-to-back games for his new team.I wasnt pissed off, he insists. But there were a lot of emotions flying, because thats your first team. You develop relationships. It kind of feels like your home. While the Predators and Johansen advanced to the second round of the playoffs that spring, the Blue Jackets limped through another difficult season and finished 20 points out of a playoff spot.It was tough, for sure, Jones said. Halfway through the season, everyone kind of knew it was over. You just had that feeling. So it was different. He initially moved into a place set up by the team and then into a temporary apartment as he tried to get his bearings in his new environment.I think he spent probably the most of last season trying to figure out where he fits in, said longtime NHL player Jody Shelley, who provides analysis for the Blue Jackets. And you could kind of see in his game that he had the skill. But it was almost like he was following a little bit, he was just falling in line. And thats understandable.Jones returned to Columbus in September after the World Cup of Hockey, where he played well for Team North America. In his own space, his own city, for the first time in his life, he?emerged as something else, someone else altogether. A leader, perhaps.Im 22 years old and am by no means a veteran, Jones said. But we have a lot of young guys on the team this year. His regular defensive partner is 19-year-old Zach Werenski, a leading candidate for rookie of the year.I do feel like Im the veteran on the D pair, Jones said. I try to lead by example for Zach. Obviously I dont need to say much to him right now. He makes my life easier too already. Its not just Werenski or Josh Anderson or any of the other young Blue Jackets -- who, along with the equally callow?Toronto Maple Leafs,?iced the youngest roster in the NHL at the start of the season -- who see in Jones journey the kind of path that is possible for a young player. His younger brother, Caleb, is also watching. The 19-year-old was drafted 117th overall in 2015 by the?Edmonton Oilers.?Hes playing junior hockey for the WHLs Portland Silverhawks, with whom Seth starred, lives with the same family Seth did and even stays in the same bedroom his brother did. While the brothers are intensely competitive, and spend summers working out together, there is an obvious understanding on Calebs part that he has a unique window into the path to success.I realize how hard hes worked to get to where he is, Caleb said.Once Caleb wrote a paper for a class talking about his respect for Seths dedication. It brought their mother to tears. That respect has only deepened since. Its definitely the same, the younger Jones said. Its a constant thing.Being that kind of person, the one to whom others look up, who they want to emulate, can be a kind of burden. Some shrink from it. Jones has embraced it.It changes you, Shelley said. He wants to be the guy. Thats the sense I think I get from watching him.He has made his apartment his own as well. The place has a comfy, lived-in feel. There are hoodies and jackets strewn on chairs. A computer sits on the couch where Jones spends a fair amount of his down time.I think its been good for both of us, Jones said of his move to Columbus and Amys subsequent return to Dallas.?He noted that his mother might disapprove of the clutter in his new place. The two are still close and keep in regular contact. Really regular contact, Jones joked, pointing out that hell finish a game and have 10 texts from Amy, his phone almost buzzing out of his pocket.Im like, Mom, 10 texts right after the game? Jones said with a smile. Its like she expects me to answer them during intermission. Shes funny. She gets fired up.He still speaks regularly with his father, former NBA player Popeye Jones, who is now an assistant coach with the Indianapolis Pacers. Although their conflicting schedules make getting together in person a challenge, Jones is expecting a visit from his dad later in December.Do the two talk about their shared lives as pro athletes? Not as much as they perhaps did when Jones first entered the NHL. I think he understands that Ive kind of gotten the hang of it a little bit, Jones said, that I understand whats expected out of me for the most part.He has become comfortable in his own skin here in Columbus, enjoying the moments of quiet.?I like being alone, to be honest, Jones said. That sounds terrible, but I dont mind being alone in my own space. Ive had roommates, and you end up just not wanting to be around them because youre around them so much at the rink.He doesnt do much entertaining here. Doesnt regularly whip up dinner for the boys.I like to cook, he insisted. I just havent done it. I cooked one time in training camp after I got back from the World Cup, and that was it.Most nights, he and his teammates go out to eat at one of Columbus restaurants.Boones cooked a couple of times, he offered. Thats it. We dont mind cooking. Its hard to cook for one, but to get everyone over and then clean it all up, thats a real hassle, to be honest. Is it the cooking or the cleaning? Its the cleaning, he said with a laugh.Hey, when youre busy doing other things, like becoming a leader, chores go by the boards. NORMAN, Okla. Cheap NHL Jerseys Authentic . -- Baker Mayfield passed for 300 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to help No. 9 Oklahoma defeat No. 25 Baylor 45-24 on Saturday.Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Mayfield is playing better than a year ago, when he finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy balloting. He said Mayfield has improved as he has become more comfortable with offensive coordinator Lincoln Rileys system and receiver Dede Westbrook. He was fourth in the Heisman last year, so why wouldnt you expect him with another year to be better, Stoops said. Do we expect? Yes, we do. And watching him from a year ago, having a full year under his belt with coach Riley and these other receivers, and the emergence of Dede -- yes, we expect him to be looking like this. The Sooners won their seventh in a row overall and 15th straight in Big 12 play. Joe Mixon had 187 yards from scrimmage and Samaje Perine ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns after missing three games with a pulled muscle in his right leg for Oklahoma (8-2, 7-0 Big 12, No. 11 CFP).Baylor (6-3, 3-3) had hoped to bounce back after last weeks 62-22 loss to TCU. Instead, the Bears are on their first 3-game losing streak since the middle of the 2012 season.Baylor quarterback Seth Russell severely dislocated his left ankle and was carted off the field with 5:48 left in the third quarter. He passed for 148 yards and ran for 70 before getting injured, but he threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.THE TAKEAWAYBaylor: The Bears continued to fall apart. Their collapse started with a loss to Texas, got much worse against TCU, and now, things look bleak with Russell out. Russell missed much of last season with a broken neck. Backup quarterback Zach Smith completed 6 of 15 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. The Bears will need to hope Russells injury isnt as serious as it looked.Oklahoma: Oklahomas defense was solid for the third straight week after giving up 59 points and 854 yards against Texas Tech. The Sooners gave up three points against Kansas, then 24 against Iowa State the next game. Baylor gained 504 yards, but Oklahomas defense forced three critical turnovers. Linebacker Jordan Evans led the way with two sacks and two interceptions.POLL IMPLICATIONSBaylor: The Bears school-record streak of 60 consecutive AP poll appearances, which Baylor says is the fourth-longest active streak in FBS, will likely end.Oklahoma: The Sooners, who were unranked heading into Big 12 play, could move higher in the AP Top 10 and position themselves to move into the College Football Playoff picture. Oklahoma was 12th in the AP poll at the same point last year.UP NEXTBaylor hosts Kansas State next Saturday.Oklahoma travels to West Virginia next Saturday. He has won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2003-04, of course, but reaching this milestone is an impressive accomplishment as well. Is he the greatest U.S. coach? Like him or not, he wears his heart on his sleeve and he holds players accountable. He was fired by the Vancouver Canucks after only one season (2013-14), and his decision to step away from coaching probably saved his career. He took over in Columbus after Todd Richards was fired seven games into the 2015-16 season, and Tortorellas presence has been influential for the Blue Jackets. The results speak for themselves: He should be considered among the elite American coaches.Let the truth be told:?There was never a goalie controversy with the New York Rangers.
