Manuel Pellegrini admitted Man Citys 3-0 victory at Chelsea on Saturday was motivated by their desire for revenge following their 5-1 FA Cup defeat in February. Lebron 11 Black . Sergio Aguero fired a hat-trick to help City move above Arsenal into third place in the Premier League table and stay on track for Champions League qualification. And Pellegrini said his side wanted payback after they were soundly beaten on their previous trip to Stamford Bridge, when a young City team conceded five to crash out of the FA Cup in the fifth round. Sergio Aguero opened the scoring in the first half at Stamford Bridge Pellegrini, who was delighted with his sides victory, told Sky Sports: Im very satisfied, because I think our team played very well in attacking and defending, and when we have all our players fit and playing all of them together - I think its another team.We knew before the game that Chelsea would always be a difficult team, but we also wanted the revenge for the FA Cup that we had to play here with a young team and they beat us 5-1.So I think that tonight was a complete game and three important points for the Premier League because we want to finish as near to the top of the league as we can. The City striker then added a second after a rapid counter-attack Agueros treble puts him on 21 league goals for the season, level with Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy and one behind Tottenhams Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot.I am sure he is the best striker in this league, Pellegrini added. Its different when hes playing every game, every week and hes a very important player. Its very strange that hes played here so many years and hes not been the best player in the league. Graeme Souness and Jamie Redknapp analyse Man Citys lightning fast counter attack for their second goal against Chelsea. It was a big performance from the team as well, and when you have good individual performances, you do well as a team. Not only Kevin [De Bruyne], because Eliaquim Mangala played very well and Fernandinho played very well. Jesus Navas worked very hard. Kevin De Bruyne was impressive for City on his return to former club Chelsea Pablo Zabaleta was booked in the first half, and after the City right-back lunged in on Pedro after the break, Pellegrini said he made a substitution to avoid a potential red card.Yes, Pablo was on a yellow card, explained Pellegrini, so another foul, and all the fans will try to pressure the referee for the second yellow. I thought it was better to change it. Yaya Toure said the whole City team performed well at Chelsea and it was probably their best win of the season City midfielder Yaya Toure added: I think today was a brilliant game. We played very wellThe first half was a brilliant game, we started very well. We tried to control the game well, we had some good counter-attacks.It was a good game for all the team, I think we deserved the win. It was one of the best games (this season). NAIROBI, Kenya -- Kenya is risking sanctions from the IOC after the sports minister said he had disbanded the national Olympic body and three of its senior officials were arrested and face a criminal investigation relating to alleged abuse of office during the Rio de Janeiro Games.National Olympic Committee of Kenya chairman Kip Keino warned Monday of repercussions from the International Olympic Committee if he was also put under arrest alongside the three officials. The officials are also accused of giving out games accreditations to people who were not part of the delegation. They were all arrested last week on returning from the Olympics in Brazil. Two of the officials, NOCK vice chairman Pius Ochieng and secretary general Francis K. NEW YORK -- When American swimming sensation Katie Ledecky added to her climbing total of career visits to NBCs Today show Monday -- this time to talk about how life has changed since she set two world records and won five medals at the Rio Summer Olympics, four of them gold -- she smiled and squirmed in her seat as the five hosts on the set took turns good-naturedly kidding her about her record-shattering start to her freshman year at Stanford University this fall. Mens Nike Air Maestro 2 LTD Shoes Black/White AH8511-001 .It already has included a 65-second rout in a 1,650-yard college invitational race Sunday in which Ledecky ... um ... beat the runner-up by four laps.Sooo, that basically means you get out of the pool, have coffee and a donut, and wait for everyone else to finish? TV host Savannah Guthrie needled. When the 19-year-old Ledecky was too polite or sheepish to parry back, the segment only got funnier.Wait -- she broke another record in just the last 20 seconds! Guthrie added. And on the way to the event tonight, shes going to break another record! Matt Lauer boomed, causing Ledecky to shake her head and blush again.Ledecky was in New York with 40 of her Olympic medal-winning teammates for USA Swimmings annual Golden Goggles Awards on Monday night, a black-tie year-end benefit that recognizes the U.S. teams best performances each year. Michael Phelps, Missy Franklin, Libby King and Maya DiRado were among the others who attended. Ryan Lochte did not.Ledecky has replaced Phelps as the most riveting figure in U.S. swimming. But as scintillating as her first three months at Stanford have been -- starting with the fact she set an NCAA or American record in every race she swam through Nov. 15 -- there was another woman sharing the red carpet with her at the Marriott Marquis hotel who was also impossible to ignore. That was Stanford teammate Simone Manuel, the first female African-American swimmer to win an individual event at an Olympic Games and, as of last weekend, the first person anywhere to beat the amazing Ledecky in her last 74 finals in a race above 100 meters.Manuel, a junior, defeated Ledecky on Saturday in the 200-yard freestyle during an invitational at Ohio State, clipping Ledecky by .26 of a second. No, I didnt know the [length of the streak], a surprised Ledecky said, grinning as if even she found it cool.I didnt know it, either, but its not like Im out of the park yet, Manuel joked, speaking a little further down the red carpet from where Ledecky was taking questions. I still have to race her every day in practice, at nationals, at NCAAs.Manuel was right. Its just a start. But dont overlook the significance of their head-to-head battles; their races should be fascinating -- maybe even transformative -- for both swimmers. With 10 Olympic medals already won between them, the 20-year-old Manuel and Ledecky could anchor the U.S. swim team for a few Olympics to come.I know I definitely want more, Manuel said. The idea of Ledecky, especially, finally having anything close to a true rival -- another female swimmer who can push her and beat her while training on the same team and sometimes in the same lane day in and day out, sets up an interesting dynamic for both women as they slowly start looking ahead to the 2020 Tokyo Games.I dont look at it like shes a frenemy, Ledecky laughed, pointing out she and Manuel were roommates in Rio, and have been roommates for four years at international meets, so were good buddies. We both love to race and we both love to compete. We race all the time in practice and Simone beats me at least a couple times a week [in sprints]. So its a great environment every day. And I dont consider it a loss when its my teammate thats beating me, anyway. Were both racing our hardest for Stanford and excited about what could follow.Ledeckys coaches are always looking for fresh challenges to throw her way. Shes been so peerless at the distance events for so long, there is talk now about dropping her down to the 100-meter free (Manuels gold-medal individual event in Rio), and maybe adding the 400 individual medley to the 200, 400, 800 and 1,600 events and world records she currently owns. Many argue Ledecky -- not LeBron James, Usain Bolt, Lionel Messi or anyone else you can name -- is the most dominant athlete in the world today. Its only news now when she doesnt win.Manuel shoulders a different set of challenges. Though she also won the gold in the 4x100 medley relay and silver in the 50 free and 4x100 freestyle relay in Rio, she said in the past that trying to become the first African-American to win any Olympic swimming medal was difficult for her at times, as if so much history weighed on every stroke. She was expansive on the topic in Rio, paying homage to groundbreakers that came before her and embracing a chance to weigh in on matters like police violence against African-Americans back in the United States. But Monday, she pulled back on the non-swimming topics a little. When an African-American reporter told Manuel shes now an icon and inspiration to their community and asked what kind of legacy she wants to leave outside the pool, Manuel said, Well, Im just 20 years old, so I havent really thought about the legacy I want to leave. I guess just making sure that people go after their dreams. That they can do anything.Later, Manuel admitted one of the many reasons she and Ledecky feel a kinship is because of the continuing expectation on them to do the extraordinary. We keep each other from thinking too much about the pressure of our races, Manuel said. She only smiled and said, Nah, when asked if she has ever been tempted to tell Ledecky to quit trying to have it all already, stick to the distance events, and leave the 100 or 200 freestyle to her. But then she did quickly add she does give Ledecky some mess about being a freshman.Ledecky already has taken much flak about getting lost on the Stanford campus, putting her swim cap on wrong, having some misadventures on the bicycle she uses to get around, and sometimes screwing up chores like putting the lane markers in the pool for team practices. The freshmen also have to bring up the towels, but they do that in shifts, so Katie knows when she has to do it, Manuel explained. The Great Katie Ledecky? Towel girl?Nodding now, Manuel deadpanned: Shes got it figured out.I wanted the college experience, Ledecky added. And so far, its been awesome. Nike Pegasus Womens Australia . Sri Lanka 537 and 5 for 0 (Silva 3*, Karunaratne 1*) lead Zimbabwe 373 (Cremer 102*, Moor 79, Herath 3-97) by 169 runsScorecard and ball-by-ball detailsA fantastic rearguard effort from Zimbabwes middle and lower order, led by Graeme Cremers maiden Test ton, helped the hosts avoid the follow-on and post 373 after they had slumped to 139 for 6 in the morning. Peter Moor put his wicketkeeping woes behind him to contribute with an 84-ball 79 and Donald Tiripano struck a composed 46.Cremer, batting at No. 8, played an attritional Test innings, waiting for anything overpitched. He received plenty such deliveries and drove elegantly to accrue seven of his ten boundaries through mid-off and extra cover. His timing was superlative and placement impeccable, important requisites for boundary scoring. The highlight of Cremers innings was his discipline with straight-bat strokes, even if the ball was short or wide. He milked the spinners, particularly with the spin to long-on or square on the leg side.On 58, Cremer was dropped at backward square leg by Asela Gunaratne. Other than that opportunity, Cremer looked impregnable with a tight defense - bat close to body, head over the ball and a good judgement of which balls to play at and which to leave. Such was his fluency that his hundred never looked in doubt as long as he didnt run out of partners. Suspense arose around the ground when he needed No. 11 Chris Mpofu to block out one delivery from Rangana Herath. Moor was more selective in his choice of shots, opting to loft the spinners straight as opposed to opting for cross-bat strokes. He used his feet effectively and hit the slower bowlers through the line in the arc between long-off and long-on. When the bowlers compensated with a shorter length, the cut shot was productive. He reached his fifty off 49 balls, thereby forcing Herath to dispatch fielders to the boundary. At one point, Herath had five deep fielders off his own bowling.Just when Moor looked set for his maiden Test ton, debutant Lahiru Kumara worked him over with a pair of outstanding bouncers on a slow pitch. The first, directed at the neck, caused Moor to fend awkwardly. The ball lobbed over slip for four. Two balls later, another well-directed bouncer accounted for Moor. The ball ballooned up off the glove and gully raced in to complete a low catch, Kumaras first Test wicket and Sri Lankas only one of the session. Nike Air Maestro 2 Trifecta. Kumara continued to trouble the batsmen with extra oomph in a testing spell. Cremer survived a nasty moment when Kumaras bouncer hit and subsequently detached his helmet, which fell perilously close to the stumps. He added 92 with No. 9 Donald Tiripano, who was equally adept at keeping out the straight deliveries and accumulating runs against Sri Lankas tiring spinners. Against the run of play, Tiripano missed a straight one from part-timer Kusal Mendis - it was Mendis first wicket in first-class cricket.Despite the lower-order fightback, Sri Lanka still retained control of the Test. They would have been pleasantly surprised with the conditions that greeted them on the third morning. After the Harare surface offered nothing to seam or spin on the first two days, it started to behave differently. Variable bounce, pace and enough lateral movement for the seamers helped Sri Lanka run through Zimbabwes middle order in a five-wicket morning session.Overnight batsmen Tino Mawoyo and Hamilton Masakadza began the day with staunch defence, even with low bounce evident from the second ball of the morning. Mawoyo was uncertain against the short ball on the second evening, and Suranga Lakmal exploited that weakness by repeatedly employing the bouncer. Some flew off the surface, some looped to the keeper. In the fifth over of the day, a bouncer hustled Mawoyo for pace and an attempted pull resulted in a top-edge, which was taken by square leg placed halfway to the boundary.Sean Williams and Craig Ervine, Zimbabwes best batsmen, were visibly disconcerted by the bounce and chose to sweep Rangana Herath. Both batsmen struck boundaries but the stroke was always fraught with risk on this pitch. Williams attempted a hard sweep off Herath but the ball bounced extra and took the leading edge, which was snaffled at deep square leg. Zimbabwe had lost their third wicket of the day inside 12 overs, the second off a top edge.Dilruwan Perera capped an excellent morning for Sri Lanka with two lbws, both non-turning offbreaks. Ervine missed a straight delivery, his pad interfering with the bats contact with the ball. Malcolm Waller went back to what he thought was a long-hop, but the ball skidded on and beat his pull. MINNEAPOLIS -- The Detroit Tigers slipped back toward the pack in the wild-card race with an ill-timed stretch this month of 10 losses in 13 games. Pink Hydro Flask 40 Oz .They found the perfect tonic on this trip to Minnesota, using the last-in-the-league Twins as a launching pad for their playoff push.James McCann had a three-run homer among his four hits, Daniel Norris pitched into the seventh inning and the Tigers completed a sweep with an 8-5 victory on Thursday for the Twins seventh straight defeat. Our pitching is solid, especially in the second half, manager Brad Ausmus said, but were built to slug and its nice to see it.The Tigers, who are 10-2 against the Twins this year, stretched their winning streak at Target Field to eight games. We needed this for sure, Norris said. Weve kind of been up and down a little bit, but anytime you win three in a row thats always good.Norris (2-2) struck out five in 6 1/3 innings, allowing six hits without a walk in his longest and strongest start this season. He took a shutout in the sixth, surrendering RBI singles by Robbie Grossman and Eduardo Escobar over his last two innings. It showed me I can go out there and compete without my best stuff and get deep into games, Norris said.Jose Berrios (2-4) finished five innings, but the organizations top pitching prospect gave up six runs on six hits and five walks in his ninth major league start and was optioned to Triple-A Rochester after the game. Tyler Duffey, the starter on Wednesday, was sent down, too.Im surprised. However, I do understand the decision, Berrios said through an interpreter. I do understand they want me to go down there and gain more confidence in what Im doing. His ERA actually dropped four percentage points to an unsightly 9.24.Young players struggling up here, manager Paul Molitor said, it takes its toll.Catcher Juan Centeno made a mound visit three batters into the game after Berrios issued back-to-back walks, and Ian Kinslers two-run double in the second sent the Tigers on their way.McCanns two-out, three-run drive into the flower bed above right-center field pushed the lead to 6-0 in the third inning. He missed the cycle by a triple. It definitely feels good to have another day like this, McCann said, and constantly making hard contact is all Im really looking for.Victor Martinez went 3 for 4 with two RBI for the Tigers, raising his career batting average at Target Field to .370 in 46 games. Hes 16 for 26 there this year and has scored seven runs in six games.Max Keplers two-run double punctuated a three-run eighth for the Twins, giving him 55 RBI to lead AL rookies, but the Twins finished 2-8 at home in August while allowing an average of 7.9 runs per game.Francisco Rodriguez preserved the victory by striking out two in a perfect ninth for his 35th save in 38 opportunities.STREAK STOPPEDJ.D. Martinezs 14-game hitting streak, the longest active run in the league and tied for the longest of his career, ended with a 0-for-5 afternoon. He was the only Tigers starter not to reach base. ST. Authentic Maurice Hurst Jersey . LOUIS -- Kenny Perry has been here before, and been crushed by disappointment. Whatever happens in the final round of the Senior PGA Championship, he plans on leaving with his head held high. If his two-stroke lead over two-time champion Jay Haas doesnt hold up Sunday, Perry said, "Its not going to be the end of the world." "I played beautifully for three rounds," Perry said. "Im just going to go out there and play like I did, and point and shoot." The 52-year-old Perry is close to his first senior major title in a career known more agonizing almosts in the 2009 Masters and 1996 PGA than his 16 total tournament victories and $34 million in winnings. He was at 10 under at Bellerive Country Club, which held up fine after a rain delay of more than two hours before the last twosome of Perry and Russ Cochran teed off. Perry is the lone player in the field to break 70 all three rounds, capitalizing on booming drives and finesse. On Saturday, he chipped in from about 30 feet from an awkward lie for an eagle on No. 4. "I couldnt stand there all day and do that again," Perry said. "That was a one in a million shot." The odds did not help Perry when he faltered and lost in a playoff to Mark Brooks in the PGA. When it happened again in the Masters, it hurt a lot more. Perry led by two strokes with two holes to go but finished with a pair of bogeys, ending a streak of 22 holes without one. Then he bogeyed the second playoff hole and lost in a playoff to Angel Cabrera. "That Masters loss put a big dent in my life," Perry said. "So this right here, this is awesome. Im just going to try to do my best and hopefully the cards will fall my way this time." Perry had the eagle, five birdies and four bogeys in the third round, mixing spectacular shots with some stumbles and doing enough of the right things for a 3-under 68. Though Perry had just one bogey the first two rounds, his closest pursuer sees no weakness. He has dominated on the three par-5 holes, playing them in 8 under. "It was nice to stay within a few of Kenny," Haas said. "It looks like hes really going to be tough to beat." Haas finished with a pair of birdies for a 67. Cochran was three strokes back after rallying for two birdies on the back nine for an even-par 71, and Rod Spittle was four shots back after a 67. The 59-year-old Haas, who won the championship in 2006 and 08, grew up in nearby Belleville, Ill., and is a bit of a local favourite. He shot 66 in the first round to share the lead and credited a telephone tip from coach Billy Harmon about keeping his right shoulder down for helping to steady his game. "I think I missed maybe one or two fairways and just hit some real quality shots," Haas said. "So, that was a lot of fun." Haas has played Bellerive a couple dozen times, but doesnt consider it much of an advantage. "Golf is such a different game than playing at your home court or something with the fans," Haas said. "I dont know what it makes a big deal of a difference." Perry had a three-stroke lead after the chip for eagle from an awkward lie on No. 4, with both feet in a greenside bunker and the ball on the lip. He was aiming at the gallery and just hoping to get it on the green. "When I hit it, man, it went straight toward the flag," Perry said. "And it hit and checked a little bit and rolled right in there like a putt." The lead was down to one after he followed up with consecutive bogeys, but he was back up by four over Cochran and Haas after birdies on Nos. 7 and 8, and no one got closer than two strokes on the back nine. Defending champion Roger Chapman shot 66 for the second time, matching the tournaments best, and was 1 under. Bernhard Langer shot a bogey-free 67 for the second straight day to climb back to even par for the tourney after opening with a 79. "I think that the first two rounds youre a bit under pressure to put in a good defence and probably thinking about just making the cut was the wrong attitude," Chapman said. "Now I made the cut, the pressures off a bit, just go out and play and thats what I did." Spittle shot 69 in the first round after a rocky start, going 3 over par the first three holes. Lawn told Press Association Sport. Why? What they dont understand is that currently we have 23 home games. We need the crowds. We dont get the money Championship clubs get.Losing four home games means we lose four incomes. Its not so bad for us but for teams like Accrington and York thats a lot of money. Its ridiculous.Lawn said he had not heard about the Leagues plans for a radical shake-up. They certainly havent come out and consulted with all the clubs because this is the first Ive heard about it, he added. If we were voting now Id be voting against it. The only reason I can think of is that, yet again, the Championship clubs want it.Peterboroughs director of football Barry Fry said his club had not been notified of the governing bodys intentions either.Im very surprised with all my contacts in the game that I didnt know about this already, he said. Until I see the proposals and how it affects the clubs I cant really comment.Accrington, as Lawn expected, are set to raise strong objections to the plan being implemented.Club owner Andrew Holt said he saw no merit in the Football Leagues strategy, and predicted it would be costly to Stanley. He said: I dont recognise it as a sensible plan. We want more games. Wed rather play 50 home games. We need revenue. We dont want to lose any games. I dont recognise it as having any sense. Our players will play as many games as we want. We pay them an annual salary; we want them to play games. We need the revenue. We certainly wouldnt want less games.Holt told Sky Sports News: Its got to hurt us if we lose any revenue. Im putting cash in to fill a black hole. If we have less matches and less revenue, Ill have to put more in, and Im not going to do that.If were going to play 20 times a year its hardly worth having a stadium. I cant see any sense or any logic in the proposals. Its just not going to geet our support. Authentic Azeem Victor Jersey. I need them coming up with better ideas where we can get more games on and generate more revenue for our clubs. These bottom clubs dont have a lot of revenue and we need to build it, not reduce it.Rotherham chairman Tony Stewart does not think the proposals will affect his club. Its a long time in football until 2018, the proposals dont worry me, he said. Ive built a stadium and invested a lot of money in order to enjoy the fruits of higher-tier football. If I had not had that ambition I wouldnt have spent over £30million. As far as Im concerned it doesnt bother me.What I will say is there is a big gulf between the Championship and the Premier League, a great divide, and the money that is shared out is disproportionate. The problem now is foreign investors coming in and taking a gamble. Theyre mortgaging a lot of money to try and get in the Premier League and its turning into a bit of a casino. There is also a divide between the Championship and League One and Two and the gaps need filling in.Brentford chief executive Mark Devlin welcomed the discussion, saying: The Football League is to be absolutely applauded for coming up with an innovative and far-reaching approach and set of proposals. These proposals are a really good start for how we can tackle some of the problems Football League clubs are facing. He picked out fixture congestion, dips in attendances for midweek matches and player fatigue as issues facing teams.Im not saying all the proposals are workable and theyre bound to divide opinion but I look at them very positively, Devlin told Sky Sports News HQ.Devlin said any change to the current system must not adversely affect revenue streams, and expressed a preference for National League clubs joining the Football League rather than B teams from Premier League sides.Undoubtedly the Premier League may well be able to offer financial incentives to make that much more of an appealing proposition, but on a personal basis I would prefer to see National League teams, Devlin said.I think it would be much better if there are more teams serving their communities rather than B teams from Premier League sides. I have managed in games at Old Trafford before and know what an incredible arena Old Trafford is and how passionate and knowledgeable the fans are, Van Gaal at his first Manchester United press conference in May 2014. Hiddink v Van Gaal Van Gaals doesnt have a great record against Hiddink The most important difference is that I am training the players, not in the legs, but in the brain, in brain power, Van Gaal on his footballing philosophy in July 2014. They were very important in my first six months, Van Gaal on the support of the Manchester United fans during his time at the club in December 2014.When you have 60 per cent ball possession do you think that you can do that with long balls? Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has told Sky Sports News HQ in December the squad remain behind Van Gaal Thats my philosophy, the players have to accept the captain - the first captain is Wayne Rooney, the second captain is Michael Carrick and last year the third captain was Mr. Mike Smalling, sorry, I mean Chris Smalling, Van Gaal calls Chris Smalling Mike at a pre-season at July press conference before the start of this season. For me, Liverpool is a fantastic club. Because I have won every game against Liverpool, Van Gaal after his sides 3-1 win at Old Trafford in September 2015. Van Gaal congratulated Anthony Martial after scoring on his debut against Liverpool In the consistency, he has surprised me, but in terms of his ability, no. Because we have known already for a long time he can do it, Van Gaals response in the same post-match interview when asked if Anthony Martial was value for money. Why is he saying something? Because of the benefit of the club, or the benefit of himself? Van Gaal on Paul Scholes criticism of his Manchester United side in October 2015.Of course I heard that, Im not deaf. Van Gaal looked concerned during Man Uniteds narrow 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League I dont have any problems with players but sometimes they are out of the team because their competitor is in that moment in a better shape, but that doesnt mean that I have a quarrel with the player. Its a matter of form, Van Gaal on Memphis Depay not being selected with Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard preferred over the Dutch international in November 2015.When you see the facts, we went further in the Capital One Cup (than last season) and qualified for the Champions League group stage, Van Gaal in his press conference immediately after Manchester United were knocked out of the Champions League. Van Gaal looks dejected after Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League The pressure was higher when I was starting out as a manager because I had more to lose then but, no, that doesnt affect my hunger or desire now because I dont want to finish my career with the club sacking me, Van Gaal admits his position could be untenable at Manchester United in December 2015.Has anybody in this room not a feeling to apologise to me? Thats what I am wondering. I think I was already sacked, I have read. Or have been sacked, the Manchester United boss ironically wishes the media Merry Christmas and tells them to enjoy their wine and a mince pie, two days before Christmas last year. Man Utd stylish response A win against Stoke helped soften the blow of City landing Pep. I was not hurt. You dont understand my message. My message is that the media are saying and writing things that does not conform with what is happening in Manchester United, Van Gaal hits out at the press again after his sides 2-0 defeat by Stoke last Boxing Day. Van Gaal accused his players being scared to play football but admits its proving difficult to restore the confidence There are matches that I have enjoyed and there are also matches where Im very bored or angry because we are not disorganising our opponents defence, but that is football, Van Gaal after his side ended an eight-match winless run against Swansea in January 2016.We dont speak about Wayne Rooney, you have criticised him. I dont - you! Van Gaal said to reporters at his post-match news conference in January, before pointing at journalist Neil Custis, adding: You too, fat man. Barrie McDermott believes that Chris Chester and Wakefield are a good fit and is also excited by the proposed return to the Wildcats of John Kear. Womens Germany Jerseys . Wakefield announced Chester as head coach following the resignation of Australian Brian SmithThe 37-year-old, who was fired from his role with Hull KR just three weeks ago, will take charge immediately, preparing the team for the Super League visit to Hull FC on Friday. Former Wigan, Leeds and Widnes star McDermott is pleased that Chester is back in the game and hopes he is given the time to take Wakefield forward.Chester is from Wakefield and he knows how the club works, so in that respect I think it will work, McDermott told Sky Sports. It is a great appointment for him - he needed to get back into the game quickly and he has a big job to do at Wakefield. Chris Chester is a really good young coach who is a great communicator and can motivate - he really knows how to get the most out of his players.I really do hope that this is a long-term appointment so that he can work on a strategy and that he has a better ending than he did at his last role. It will be a difficult job. With the greatest respect the player roster he has at Wakefield has not got the same ring to it as some of the other clubs. He is going to have to get the best out of what he has, and make sure that he gets the best out of each individual so that the team plays beyond their potential. They are dealing with a lot of issues especially the insecurity surrounding their finances but I think it will be a great lesson for Chester and really develop his coaching abilities.Wakefield also announced that former coach Kear will return to the club to work alongside Chester from 2017, as head of rugby - a match-up that McDermott is delighted to see. John Kear at Wakefield in 2011 The one thing I am in favour of is getting a head of rugby in to take some of the pressure off the coach, he added.I think sometimes all the other issues can take a coachs focus away from what he does best - and that is coach! There are very few coaches who can get it right on the grass and off the grass.Someone like John Kear is perfect to be teamed up with Chester - Kear has done all the top jobs and has done it at an international level. He has so much experience and still has a heck of a lot to offer.I see this as a real long-term commitment. So often clubs would rather spend money on a short-term fix - like put the money into the pockets of an overseas player. I think they should be focusing on a five or six-year plan that can really reap the long-term benefits. Also See: Chester named Wakefield coach WATCH: The Naughty Step Can Widnes last the pace? Somerset 250 for 9 (Allenby 69, Jayawardene 55) beat Hampshire 245 (Smith 59, Adams 50, Groenewald 3-56) by five runsScorecard Mahela Jayawardene and Jim Allenby both scored half-centuries to set Somerset up for a five run victory, knocking Hampshire out of the Royal London Cup in the process. Somerset already had their South Group top spot guaranteed with Essexs washed out game at Gloucestershire and will face Worcestershire in the quarter finals.Hampshire went into the final over needing 14 to win with two wickets in hand but Gareth Andrew fell to Tim Groenewalds first ball, via a steepling catch. Mason Crane and Brad Wheal scampered nine off the next four deliveries but Groenewald sealed victory with a catch off his own bowling. Two wickets a piece from Lewis Gregory, Roelof van der Merwe and Max Waller helped complete the victory in tense circumstances.Jayawardene and Allenby, who had won the toss and batted in gloomy conditions, appeared in little trouble as they put on 108 for the first wicket. Former Sri Lanka international Jayawardene was the first to reach fifty, from 54 balls, before he was followed to the milestone by Allenby, who had earlier passed his 2500 List A runs, in 62 deliveries. But the partnership, which had come in little over 20 overs, ended when Jayawardene slogged Crane to Jimmy Adams at long on, who slipped but held the catch. Allenby departed nine overs later spooning a catch to Gareth Berg at short fine leg, to start a regular fall of wickets for the visitors.Tom Abell was bowled round his legs by Crane and Peter Trego caught on the fine leg boundary ropes by the spinner after an industrious 31, including two huge sixes over the leg side.Hildreth was unlucky with his dismiissal as Andrew produced an outrageous one-handed catch at backward point before Gregory was bowled by Liam Dawson. Ryan Davies was caught by long-on Will Smith, Groenewald was on the wrong end of a fleet-handed stumping and van der Merwe was the last man back in the shed but the visitors reached 250 for 9.Adams and Tom Alsop attempted to follow the example set of Allenby and Jayawardene by steadily accumulating runs in the chase but could not have the same effect as Alsop was lbw to Gregory after a stand of 49. Adams, reached 3500 career format runs, on his way to his 27th limited-overs half-century off 58 balls but after facing just one more ball was trapped leg before by van der Merwe.Adam Wheater was also adjudged lbw to the slow left-armer before stand-in skipper Liam Dawson and Smith added 30 for the fourth wicket to keep the score ticking. But Dawson became the fourth player to fall leg before as Hampshire felt the squeeze, the run rate dropping to three an over.A frustrated Ryan McLaren was bowled trying to give himself more space, while Smith reached fifty in 77 balls.Hampshire needed 83 from the final 10 overs, and lost the important Smith when he was caught behind and Gareth Berg was run out attempting an over throw. That left Hampshire 192 for 7 but Lewis McManus and Andrew kept Hampshire in the hunt with a partnership of 32 in 4.2 overs.Andrew struck a sweet six over midwicket and a swept four but Groenewald took his 100th List A scalp when McManus was bowled and although Wheal hit a four and a six in Gregorys penultimate over it was not enough. RIO DE JANEIRO -- Australian swimmers Josh Palmer and Emma McKeon have been banned from the Olympic closing ceremony by delegation head Kitty Chiller after a night out on Copacabana beach in which Palmer allegedly was forced to withdraw money from an ATM and lost his wallet and phone. Brian Allen Jersey .The decision comes after the pair failed to return to the Olympic Village without informing team management after a night out in Copacabana. McKeon is said to have spent the night with friends after leaving a nightclub in the early hours of the morning, according to a statement from the Australian Olympic Committee.Palmer, who finished fifth in his 100-meter breaststroke heat on Aug. 6, decided to continue drinking with a friend, and his night took a turn for the worse. The AOC statement reads: Palmer has told officials that after his friend left he was approached by a man who forced him to withdraw AUS $1,000 in cash from a nearby automatic teller machine.Palmer was found later by two businessmen in the Copa district who reported the swimmer was disoriented and had lost his wallet and phone. They phoned the Australian Consulate who then contacted the head of security for the Australian Olympic Team, Greg Nance.Palmer did not make a formal complaint to the police, and he was picked up at the consulate by team leader Wayne Lomas.Chiller calls their decision not to inform team management of their whereabouts disrespectful and has imposed a new 2 a.m. curfew on all Australian athletes for the rest of the Games while McKeon and Palmer are prohibited from leaving the Olympic Village between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.The news comes after the AOC decided to ban athletes from heading onto the sand of Ipanema and Copacabana beaches after nightfall because of the risk of petty crime.Given the security problems we have encountered over the past few weeks, I find the behaviour of the disciplined athletes disrespectful to the remainder of the team, Chiller said. Can the Sky Sports News HQ racing expert do it again? Awtaad lowered the colours of Galileo Gold on Saturday but do you think he would come out on top if the pair met again?Awtaad was impressive wasnt he? He seems the complete racehorse as he has a great attitude, loads of speed and tons of ability. Id like to be on him when the pair next face off thats for sure. Its fair to say Frankie Dettori had to sit and suffer on Galileo Gold whereas Chris Hayes was able to ride the race he wanted to on the winner, but regardless of that I think the Irish Guineas winner has the edge. Awtaad has now won his last four starts and is improving at a rate of knots and if the pair meet in the St Jamess Palace Stakes Id rather be on the Kevin Prendergast-trained colt; he looks by far the most straightforward of the two. He is currently 3/1 with Sky Bet for the one-mile Group One at the Royal meeting whereas Galileo Gold is 9/2. They may both have to play second fiddle to The Gurkha regardless - his performance in France looked very impressive. Skiffle won the Height Of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood and now looks like being supplemented for the Investec Oaks but do you think that is the right move and is Minding vulnerable after her defeat on Sunday? We thought the three-year-old fillies looked much superior to the colts, but the Oaks door has been left ajar after the defeat of Minding behind Jet Setting in the Irish 1000 Guineas. Minding is still favourite for the Epsom Classic, but has now been pushed out to 6/5 with Sky Bet. Its probable that the incident as the gates opened that saw her bang her head had a bearing on the outcome of the race and its also true that the ground was testing enough for her at the Curragh, but with the doubt over her stamina for the mile and a half at Epsom I can see why other trainers are happy to try to take her on. The Height Of Fashion (formerly the Lupe) is a race that has had an influence on the Oaks in the past and Skiffle has been introduced at 10/1 with Sky Bet for Epsom. Charlie Applebys filly is improving fast and as this was only her second outing youd have to expect further improvement. She completely cocked up the start on debut, rearing and missing the break, but she was much more savvy at Goodwood and I can see the attraction of adding her to the Oaks field. She is guaranteed to stay, being a daughter of Dubawi out of a mare that was useful up to 1m4f and is a half sister to a horse that was also effective over middle distances. So a lots of ticks there and lets be honest, the £30,000 itll cost to add her to the field isnt going to make a dent in the Sheikh Mohammed coffers!Has anything else caught your eye for Epsom following Breakfast With The Stars on Tuesday and if you had to have one ante-post bet at this stage, what would it be? Well, much of the talk after Breakfast With The Stars was of the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Ulysses. Sir Michael isnt usually one to give much away, but he has spoken well of this beautifully bred colt who has now shortened into 8/1 with Sky Bet for the Derby. He had one run at two, going into winter quarters with an encouraging sixth in a mile maiden at Newbury behind Algometer. That horse has gone on at three and has some decent form so far, including a second place to Midterm in Sandowns Classic Trial and winning a Listed race at Goodwood. Ulysses reappeared this term in a hot Leicester maiden finishing second and then got off the mark in a 10-furlong Newbury maiden earlier this month. So, back to that pedigree; hes by Galileo who won the English and Irish Derbies in 2001 and is out of a mare called Light Shift, who won the Oaks at Epsom for Sir Henry Cecil in 2007. Derby pedigrees surely dont get much better than that and Andrea Atzeni will ride him in the big race. I also have plenty of respect for Cloth Of Stars who motored round the course on Tuesday morning and is trained by Andre Fabre. He is 7/1 third favourite and needs to be supplemented at a cost of £75,000.Clive Cox has another smart sprinter on his hands in Profitable, is the Temple Stakes winner on your radar for Royal Ascot? How pleased was I to see Profitable earn followers of the blog a few quid on Saturday?! Delighted! Meccas Angel was being supported as if defeat was out of the question after the rain had turned the ground in her favour; but I was screaming home Clive Coxs four-year-old and my prayers were answered. As predicted, he has improved for another winter on his back and looks a force to be reckoned with this season. Rams Stitched Jerseys. Granted he carried Meccas Angel across the track in the final furlong, but no momentum was lost and the stewards decided it hadnt made a difference. I was sure Profitable needed a bit of ease in the ground, but his trainer said afterwards he thinks he will be even better on a quicker surface. This is great news for his likely Royal Ascot aspirations and going forward for the rest of the season as he is clearly versatile on that front. Hes now 8/1 co second favourite for the Kings Stand next month and as a sprinter on the upgrade, I wouldnt be disappointed if I had an ante-post voucher in my clutches.Theres another big card at Haydock this weekend, what should we be backing?Well, after last weekend Haydock is my new favourite track, so lets try and find another winner or two! There are three Group races that should be pretty competitive. The Group Two Sandy Lane Stakes is the feature with a strong entry for the six-furlong contest. Classic winning trainer Hugo Palmer could have a good day at the Lancashire track and his Gifted Master is clear favourite on the ante-post book. At 2/1 with Sky Bet though I think we can find a bit more value elsewhere. Having said that, he hasnt seen the back of another horse since last June and despite being a bit quirky is clearly very talented. He is already 6/1 second favourite for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. A few of his rivals on Saturday could also have the Royal Ascot race on their radar, including Buratino, who is dropping back in trip having failed to stay a mile in the 2000 Guineas. He also has the beating of Air Force Blue as a juvenile when winning the Coventry. Remarkable went into a few notebooks when runner up to Log Out Island in a Listed race at Newbury this month and John Gosdens son of Pivotal looks a horse on the up. At 9/1 for Saturdays race, he could run a good race if the forecast rain arrives. La Rioja is another unexposed likely improver at three. Henry Candys filly hasnt run yet this season, but was a Group Three winner at Salisbury on her last start. She is another horse that will need the rain to fall. Jim Bolgers Smash Williams is potentially a very nice horse too. He is one of a strong entry for Irish-trained horses and looked exciting as a juvenile. Its a very good renewal of the race and I dont have a really strong view at the moment, but if the rain comes then Ill be backing Remarkable to cause an upset. Then we have two Group Three races to look forward to, the Pinnacle Stakes for fillies and mares over an extended 1m3f, and the Timeform Jury Stakes over seven furlongs. Last years winner Miss Marjurie is among the entries for the Pinnacle Stakes and trainer Denis Coakley has snapped up the services of Oisin Murphy. However, last year she won a Listed race at Goodwood en-route to this, but was disappointing in the same race this time round. The powerful combination of John Gosden and Frankie Dettori look like they will be hard to beat here with Journey. She wasnt disgraced in finishing third to Beautiful Romance and Koora in the Middleton Stakes at Yorks Dante meeting and a reproduction of that will be good enough here. She just ran a bit free at York and that may have cost her but the fillies that finished in front of her that day are top class and it doesnt look like theres anything of that quality entered at Haydock. The Timeform Jury Stakes looks more open and has attracted a strong entry. Home Of The Brave represents trainer Hugo Palmer and is Sky Bets ante-post favourite at 9/2. He was snapped up by Godolphin after his reappearance win at Leicester last month, but was unable to represent his new owners in the Lockinge Stakes after the ground turned too soft. There is plenty to recommend him providing Haydock dont get too much rain before Saturday. William Haggas horses are running well and his Adaay is another for the shortlist. He was a bit disappointing over a mile on his return to action at Sandown last time out, but I think a drop back to seven will be just the job and on the best of his form he is right up there with a big shout. He won the Sandy Lane Stakes on this card last year beating Limato, which is very good form. Unlike Home Of The Brave he wont mind a drop of moisture in the ground and at this stage hell do for me. MINNEAPOLIS -- Charlotte coach Steve Cliffords fiery halftime speech got his team going in the right direction. Cheap Pistons Jerseys China .Minnesota Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau saved his hollering for after the game because his team is headed in the wrong one.Kemba Walker scored 30 points and the Hornets blitzed the Timberwolves in the third quarter on their way to a 115-108 victory on Tuesday night.Frank Kaminsky scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for the Hornets (7-3), who snapped a two-game skid. Nicolas Batum had 16 points and seven assists, and Charlotte outscored Minnesota 36-17 in the third quarter to wipe out a 12-point halftime deficit. It was perfect timing, and we needed it, Walker said of Cliffords speech. We just (werent) ourselves, and he got into us a little bit. It worked out for us, because we needed to pick our energy up.Andrew Wiggins scored 29 points and Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 points and eight rebounds for the Timberwolves, who fell to 1-2 on their four-game homestand. Minnesota turned the ball over 18 times, which led to 20 points for Charlotte. The teams entered the game on opposite ends of the spectrum in the third quarter this season. Charlotte leads the league in scoring differential coming out of the break, while Minnesota is dead last. The Timberwolves have built double-digit leads in the first half in eight of their first 10 games, but have lost six of them thanks to the failings in the third. That trend continued on Tuesday, with Charlotte opening the third with a 15-2 run and closing it with a 21-4 surge.Very concerned, Thibodeau said. It tells you were not learning. That bothers me.Wiggins rallied the Wolves in the fourth, giving them a 92-91 lead with a 3-pointer. But Kaminsky responded with a 3 and a three-point play, and Clifford got the best of his longtime friend.Weve got guys who have been in the league for a while now, Thibodeau said. Were making mistakes that never should be made.WALKERS BACKA scary moment happened at the end of the first quarter when Walker, who scored 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting in the period, went to the locker room. The team said his back tightened up and he went back to get stretched out.Walker was able to return to the game midway through the second quarter and played the rest of the game with no visible issues. My training staff, theyre the best, Walker said. I just try to come out here and listen to my coaches. They tell me pick my spots a lot better. Last year I probably would have been a lot more out of control going to the basket.Walton was the first player off Missouris bench, which outscored the Demons 43-8.Frankie Hughes and Willie Jackson, who scored 11 apiece for the Tigers (3-2). Cullen VanLeer scored 10 points and Kevin Puryear finished with 11 points and six rebounds.Hes doing it the perfect way, Missouri coach Kim Anderson said of Walton. It gives him a chance to kind of evaluate the way the games being called and maybe what his mans doing or where can he get some buckets offensively.Northwestern State (2-3) led 14-9 early, but Missouri closed the first half on a 15-4 run and led 39-27 at halftime.Walton attributed the Tigers slow start to Northwestern States energy. They just played harder than us pretty much, Walton said. I think guys came off the bench and gave a lot of energy and I think coach did a great job of making adjustments as the game went on.The Demons shot 1 for 6 to start the second half and trailed by double digits for all but 26 seconds. I know the guys are really emotional about it, but were all praying for her and hoping for the best. As part of ESPN Fantasys efforts to give daily gamers intel on whom to target in DFS, our fantasy golf experts are here to share which players they view as building blocks for this weeks RBC Canadian Open. Wholesale Jazz Jerseys .The panel for the Canadian Open features ESPN.coms Will Harris, FantasyGolfInsiders Jeff Bergerson, Zach Turcotte, Taras Pitra and Jason Rouslin, and Dailyfantasybootcamps David Jayne.Note: Golfer salaries listed are for DraftKings. Will Harris -- Colt Knost ($7,100) Knost is peaking at age 31 (his 74-75 at Troon was just his second missed cut in 21 starts this year). Knost, this years Tour leader in driving accuracy and putting inside 10 feet, has been threatening to break through with his maiden victory. He followed a third-place showing at The Players with two more top-four finishes in four starts since. Theres no hiding his poor track record at Glen Abbey that consists of two missed cuts and a tie for 48th, but well chance it with a guy whos inside the top 20 in the betting order yet outside DraftKings top 50.David Jayne -- Luke List ($6,600) The par-5s at Glen Abbey have surrendered an astonishing 143 eagles in the last two timesit has hosted the Canadian Open (2013 and 2015). List is one of the best on tour this year at making birdie or better on par-5s, and in his only start here in 2013 he played the par-5s in 11-under par. Although List has made only 10 cuts this season, he has finished inside the top 30 an impressive 80 percent of the time hes made the cut. This upside coupled with the expected high ownership of Matthew Fitzpatrick makes List a great pivot at this price for tournaments.Jeff Bergerson -- David Hearn ($7,900)Last year the Canadian player came really close to winning his home countrys national open, but ended up with a solo third-place finish. After a rough start to 2016, Hearn has bounced back and put up nine top-30 finishes and has made the cut in his last six tournaments. His $7,900 price this week is really good, especially considering the lack of depth in this field. Hearn is a really strong play in both GPPs and cash games this week.Zachary Turcotte -- Daniel Summerhays ($7,000) Why is Summerhays priced at $7,000 this week? Considering there are players making their PGA debut at the Canadian Open who are priced higher than Summerhays, I am totally baffled by this glaring value. Summerhays has missed just three cuts in 21 starts this season and recently finished in the top 10 at Oakmont in the U.S. Open. He has made nine straight cuts overall and finished in 11th place at Glen Abbey a year ago. Summerhays is a solid putter, and although he does not get a lot of distance off the tee, he has knocked in plenty of birdies, particularly on par-5s this season. He is easily my favorite value play of the week.Jason Rouslin -- Chad Campbell ($6,800)In three starts at Glen Abbey, Campbell has finished 11th, 16th and 26th, so it seems that he is familiar and comfortable with the course. Plus, hes coming off a decent performance at the Barbasol (35th) and has made the cut in his last five starts. I like the direction his game is heading as well as his past performances at Glen Abbey. He has great value at just $6,800. Look for him to stick around for the weekend for his sixth-straight cut and be in position to finish in the top 20.Taras Pitra -- William McGirt ($7,700) McGirts missed cut at The Open should be thrown out the window, as it was his first time playing in the event and the course didnt play to his strengths. Instead of fading him based on an outlier missed cut, Im strongly suggesting him for GPPs this week. His course history (34th, 2nd) and current form (aside from the Open, he recently finished 7th, MC, WIN, 47th, 43rd, 17th) indicates a consistent player with good upside to build around for your cash teams. AMES, Iowa -- Like many downtrodden programs, Iowa State has often struggled to find enough defensive linemen who can make a big impact on the field. Cheap NBA Jerseys .The Cyclones might be in decent shape next year.Last week, Iowa State signed a pair of junior college linemen, Ray Lima and Matt Leo, and wide receiver Matt Eaton. The Cyclones were already set at receiver before the addition of Eaton, but Lima and Leo are expected to play immediately for a unit that looked pretty thin. Were not backing down from anyone in recruiting, coach Matt Campbell said. For us to get to where we need to go, the offensive and defensive lines are critical to us.Iowa States biggest defensive loss was tackle Demond Tucker, a two-time second-team All-Big 12 selection.Having Lima ready to replace Tucker would be a best-case scenario for the Cyclones. Lima was rated among the best junior college defensive tackles available by some recruiting publications despite redshirting last season. In 2015, Lima has 21.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks for El Camino Community College in California.Lima, who also drew interest from Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, TCU and California, will likely be more of a run stopper at Iowa State.Ray has got everything you want in an interior defensive lineman. Hes got elite twitch. Hes got really good length, Campbell said. Hes got every factor in terms of leadership. The Cyclones lose another lineman that earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in end Jhaustin Thomas.Leo might be more of a project than Lima, but he appears to have a ton of potential.Leo grew up in Australia, where he played professional rugby briefly before moving to the U.S. to take up football. Leo showed enough as a sophomore for Arizona Western last season to earn top-50 junior college rankings by ESPN and 247 Sports -- and he picked the Cyclones over Oklahoma and other big-name schools. You just see his film, and each game gets better and better and better, Campbell said. Hes got really good technique. He plays with relentless effort.Eaton started at Temple before getting injured and receiving a medical redshirt. He left the Owls after barely seeing the field in 2015, but last season at Pearl River Community College in Mississippi he caught 37 passes for 392 yards.Eaton will have to work hard to see playing time though. Big 12 first-team receiver Allen Lazard and Trever Ryen are returning for their senior seasons, and youngsters Deshaunte Thomas, Carson Epps and Hakeem Butler all showed plenty of promise in 2015.To be able to hit on all three guys was incredible, Campbell said.---More college football at Wholesale Pacers Jerseys . Suzuki homered off Tanner Scheppers with two outs in the ninth inning, lifting the New York Yankees to a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night. "Love it," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Sometimes its tough to score runs when youre not hitting home runs. We got enough tonight." Suzukis drive to right-centre was the Yankees fourth home run of the game, three coming off Darvish, and it helped New York improve to 4-3 on a homestand that ends after two more games against the Rangers. "I think it was just the wrong pitch at the wrong time," Scheppers said. "I probably showed him too many fastballs in that at-bat. Probably should have went with something different." The Bronx Bombers were coming off a stretch in which they hit just four homers in 15 games, going 6-9. Other than Travis Hafner on Tuesday, the contributions came from some unlikely sources. Brett Gardner and Jayson Nix also homered off Darvish, who hasnt won in seven starts. Suzukis drive was his fourth of the year. "Anyone can contribute, thats the great thing about this game," Girardi said. "When you have a bat in your hand, you can be part of the story." Texas also had an unlikely power source: No. 9 hitter Leonys Martin connected twice off Kuroda. Mariano Rivera (1-1) worked a scoreless ninth for New York, which ended the Rangers five-game winning streak. Scheppers (5-1) pitched a perfect eighth before being touched up by Suzuki in New Yorks first walk-off win this year. The anticipated matchup between Darvish and Kuroda, Japanese aces with ERAs under 3.00, fizzled on a hot and sticky night when a four-inning stretch produced five home runs. The 11th major league matchup between starters from Japan got off to a sharp start. Even when the Yankees loaded the bases in the first on three straight singles that just cleared the gloves of leaping infielders, Darvish easily got out of the jam with a strikeout and an easy grounder. But Martin started the home run barrage with a shot that landed a couple of rows back in the short right field porch. "The home runs I gave up, that was bad, but otherwise I think I pitched well," Kuroda said through a translator. After the Rangers went up 2-0 on an unearned run in the fourth aided by rookie third baseman David Adams throwing error, Hafner led off the bottom half with a long ball into the New York bullpen. Cheap Indiana Pacers Jerseys. Martin then started the fifth with a shot that landed several sections to the left of his first homer for his fifth of the year. Not to be outdone, Gardner led off the Yankees half with a line drive deep into the seats in right field to pull New York to 3-2. Kuroda had his first perfect inning since the second in the sixth. And Nix promptly tied it with a soaring fly to left field that cleared the wall by several rows, snapping his homerless string at 202 at-bats. Nix last homered on April 7. Darvish was done two batters later, having allowed the most homers of his big league career in 45 starts. He hasnt won since beating Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers on May 16. Pitching on extra rest because Texas chose to bring up top pitching prospect Martin Perez to start against St. Louis on Saturday and push everyone back a day, Darvish struck out six. He yielded seven hits and three runs. "He wasnt at his best. I think we had him twice with two-run leads," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "He tried to get a cutter in on Gardner and didnt get it there and then he hung two breaking balls. They worked him and made him throw some pitches." Kuroda lasted into the seventh, lifted before facing Martin again. Boone Logan came in and struck out the No. 9 hitter. Kuroda matched his line from the last time he faced Darvish on April 24, 2012 -- two earned runs and five hits in 6 2-3 innings. He also struck out six. Texas took advantage of Adams throwing error on Adrian Beltres grounder to go up 2-0 in the fourth. Beltre reached when Adams long throw skidded past first baseman Lyle Overbay with one out. A.J. Pierzynski and Lance Berkman each singled to load the bases before Mitch Morelands grounder to second base was too slow for Robinson Cano to start a double play, allowing a run to score. With runners on first and third, David Murphy then hit a grounder that shortstop Nix fielded deep behind second base. He made a strong throw for the third out. NOTES: Chris Stewart threw two runners out trying to steal and Pierzynski one. ... Beltre made two errors. ... Girardi said 1B Mark Teixeira (right wrist inflammation) was going to see a doctor Tuesday but had no update after the game. Teixeira hasnt played since pulling himself from a game June 15 and Girardi said he is concerned about Teixeira because he is showing no improvement. ... Washington said he will find playing time for INF Jurickson Profar in this series. Profars playing time has been curtailed since Ian Kinsler returned from the disabled list on June 15.
