New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career Jaguars Tanner Lee Jersey , where his streak of 210 consecutive games started when head coach Ben McAdoo benched him in favor of Geno Smith.Manning completed just 61.6 percent of his passes for 3,468 yards (his fewest since 2008), and had 19 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. McAdoo was fired and replaced by Pat Shurmur, while long-time general manager Jerry Reese was also shown the door. New York went from 11 wins and a postseason berth in 2016 to the second overall pick a year later.Manning has been given the vote of confidence from his new coaching staff, and the two-time Super Bowl Champion feels like there is plenty left to give in what's been a fairly successful career."Obviously it has been an unbelievable run, but I want to continue doing it,鈥?Manning told NFL Network (h/t "It鈥檚 not over. I know that. . . . I鈥檓 excited for this upcoming year and really prove that I can still play at a high level. We can win games. We can win championships."The 2018 NFL draft featured a handful of prized quarterback prospects, including Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold. Many expected the Giants to draft Manning's successor, but they opted for Penn State running back Bengals Preston Brown Jersey , Saquon Barkley. There is reason for optimism in the Meadowlands this upcoming season. With Barkley in the backfield, Manning will be armed with a game-changing running back who can ease some of the workload off the passing game.On top of that, Manning's receiving core will hopefully stay healthy this season. Star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. only played in four games before fracturing his ankle and missing the rest of 2017. No. 2 wideout Sterling Shepard only played in 11 games, while perennial Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall played five games before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.Marshall was released, but Shepard, Beckham and Barkley give Manning arguably the best set of playmakers he's ever had. And though the defense was a mess in 2017, let's not forget they gave up the second fewest points per game in 2016.Manning is 37 years of age, but he's stayed healthy throughout his entire career. With a new head coach and new playmakers around him, nobody should doubt his ability to bring a third Super Bowl back to New York. The moment the Predators have been waiting for since June 11 finally is here. After failing to force a Game 7 for the Stanley Cup, Nashville is back in the postseason eager to chase hockey’s ultimate prize once again.

This time, the Predators are the Presidents’ Trophy winners for their first-round series starting Thursday night at home against the Colorado Avalanche. Nashville forward Filip Forsberg sees the NHL’s best in the regular season as a better team than the group that made a thrilling run to the franchise’s first final as the lowest-seeded team in the playoffs.

”Same group of guys Youth Ito Smith Jersey , same great mindset, great mentality in this group, but we’re a more skilled team,” Forsberg said.

”Everyone who was here last year is a year older, a year better, and all the guys that they brought in have been great additions and really created a big impact on this team.”

Winning the Presidents’ Trophy is no guarantee of success: Since 2004-05, more teams with the most regular-season points (four) have been eliminated in the first round than have reached the final (three). And Nashville’s own first-round sweep of Chicago, the Western Conference’s top seed last year, has given the Avalanche confidence after their own amazing turnaround for their first playoff berth since 2014, even if they have lost 10 straight to Nashville.

”We got in,” forward Nathan MacKinnon said. ”Anything can happen now. We’re excited for the challenge. It’s not going to be easy against the Presidents’ (Trophy) winning team.”

Nashville coach Peter Laviolette said the Predators won’t take anybody lightly.

”We’re disappointed obviously the way the thing ended last year Phillip Gaines Color Rush Jersey ,” Laviolette said. ”We put ourselves in position to finish it off, and we didn’t get it done. We wanted to give ourselves the best position that we can through the course of the regular season in order to be successful, and we made it. We’re here.”

Some things to know about the Predators and Avalanche for this series:

The Avalanche have one of the youngest rosters with an average age of just 25.8. This season, they dressed 11 rookies. That youthful spirit has rejuvenated the veterans. ”You can feel the excitement and energy from all those guys,” said 28-year-old center Colin Wilson, who spent his first eight seasons with Nashville. ”It’s a fun energy to be a part of.”

Nobody spent more time in the penalty box than the undisciplined Predators, who led the NHL with 928 penalty minutes at an average of 11.3 minutes per game. They led the league with 320 minor penalties and 10 misconducts and tied San Jose with the most game misconducts (four). Laviolette said they have to be better. ”It’s playoff time, and we have to be in control of our actions on the ice,” Laviolette said.

Colorado’s top line of captain Gabriel Landeskog, MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen had a combined 243 points, which accounted for 36 percent of the team’s scoring in the regular season. The speedy MacKinnon led the way with 39 goals and 58 assists to put himself in the Hart Trophy discussion as for the league’s MVP. They’ll likely be matched against Nashville’s top line of Forsberg Titans Harold Landry Jersey , who led Nashville with 64 points, center Ryan Johansen (54) and Viktor Arvidsson (61). ”We’re always OK with best-best,” Laviolette said.

The Predators have a big advantage in Pekka Rinne , a three-time Vezina Trophy finalist who could finally win the award after a career-high eight shutouts and 42 wins this season. Rinne played a huge role in Nashville’s playoff run last spring. Colorado will be without Semyon Varlamov this series because of a knee injury, putting Jonathan Bernier in net. Bernier went 19-13-0 for Colorado with two shutouts, but this will be just his second career playoff start. His first? A 6-3 loss to Nashville as the Predators clinched the Western Conference title against Anaheim last spring.

AJ Mleczko, who won Olympic gold with the U.S. women’s hockey team in 1998 and silver in 2002, will be the color analyst for this game on NBCSN. The network believes this will be the first time a woman has been in the booth for an NHL playoff game in the U.S. Mleczko, who worked broadcasts for the 2018 Winter Olympics, started doing analysis on men’s hockey with NBC’s national broadcast March 6.

The NFL says New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram has been suspended for the first four regular season games of 2018 because of a violation of the league's performance enhancing drug policy.

The league has not released details about whether Ingram has tested positive for a performance enhancing drug or simply a banned masking agent.

The league says Ingram will be eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games Authentic Mark Walton Jersey , and will be eligible to play in his first regular season game after the Saints visit the New York Giants on Sept. 30.

Ingram and his representatives at VIP Sports Management have not commented on the test results or whether Ingram will appeal.

Last season, Ingram rushed for a career-high 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns to go with 416 yards receiving.

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman says he will travel to Singapore ”for the historical summit” between President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un , even though Trump says he wasn’t invited.

Rodman announced his plans via tweet Friday and thanked the cryptocurrency company PotCoin for sponsoring the trip. The tweet was quickly deleted and later reposted.

Rodman, who is among the few Westerners who have met the North Korean leader, said he would ”give whatever support is needed” to his ”friends” Trump and Kim.

White House officials have repeatedly said that Rodman would play no official role in the diplomatic negotiations and Trump said Thursday that the basketball legend had not been invited to the June 12 summit.

”I like him Natrell Jamerson Color Rush Jersey ,” Trump said of Rodman. ”He’s a nice guy. No, he was not invited.”

Rodman’s tweet announcing the trip included a composite photo of him, Trump and Kim in front of the flags of both nations and the word ”unite.”

In a Fox News interview Thursday Cheap Bo Scarbrough Jersey , White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said that Rodman is ”great on the court but negotiations should best be left to those who are good at it.”

”President Donald Trump is the best. So we expect he and Kim Jong Un to have an amazing conversation without Dennis Rodman in tow,” Gidley said.

Rodman has called the North Korean leader his ”friend for life.” Rodman first visited North Korea in 2013 with members of the Harlem Globetrotters and has returned several times. He held Kim’s daughter during a visit in 2013.

PotCoin has sponsored Rodman’s travel to North Korea in the past. In 2017, the Basketball Hall of Famer was photographed in North Korea wearing a PotCoin T-shirt and baseball cap. The cryptocurrency company gives marijuana businesses access to banking as an alternative to many financial institutions that will not do business with cannabis companies because marijuana is illegal under U.S. federal law.

Asked again on Friday whether Rodman would possibly be attending the summit Ryan Jensen Color Rush Jersey , Trump said: ”Dennis was a great rebounder and he wasn’t relatively speaking that tall.”

The meeting next week in Singapore will be the first of its kind between a leader of North Korea and a sitting U.S. president.

Kawhi Leonard’s time with the San Antonio Spurs may soon be over.

A person familiar with the situation says Leonard has told the Spurs that he would like to be traded this summer Authentic Ronnie Harrison Jersey , the clearest sign yet that the relationship between the team and the All-Star is in disrepair.

The person said Leonard has decided that he is ”unhappy with the situation” in San Antonio. The person spoke with The Associated Press on Friday on condition of anonymity because neither the player nor the team commented publicly.

Yahoo Sports and the San Antonio Express-News first reported Leonard’s hope for a trade.

Leonard played in only nine game with the Spurs this past season because of a leg injury – officially described as right quadriceps tendinopathy, and the Spurs listed him as out on their injury reports for much of the year citing ”injury management.” In the 2016-17 season, he averaged a career-best 25.5 points and was third in the MVP voting.

Leonard is due just over $20 million next season, and can become a free agent in the summer of 2019. It’s unclear if the Spurs will go ahead and try to trade him, or if the team will try to patch things up with the 2014 NBA Finals MVP and two-time NBA defensive player of the year.

There were signs of strain in the relationship this past season while Leonard was sidelined.

The Spurs were reduced to giving only cryptic answers about Leonard’s status. While San Antonio was in the playoffs, losing in the first round to eventual repeat champion Golden State, Leonard was rehabbing in New York – which meant that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, when asked for the situation, deferred all comment to ”Kawhi and his group.”

Teammates also were tight-lipped about Leonard’s situation, even by Spurs standards. ”He has to do what’s best for him Anthony Miller Jersey ,” Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge told USA Today Sports back in April.

All of Leonard’s nine appearances with the Spurs this season were prior to the All-Star break, none of them coming after Jan. 13.

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Matt Burke plans to go diving in Bora Bora on summer vacation, and when he returns he’ll really start trying to figure out who should play where this season.

Burke and the rest of the defensive staff have been experimenting and evaluating during spring non-contact drills. But when asked Wednesday how much he can tell before players don pads, he responded with a slight smile.

”Nothing,” Burke said.

Minicamp does offer a chance to assess agility and how well players are absorbing the system, he said. But it will be August before Burke and the Dolphins have a true sense regarding what kind of defense they’ll be in 2018.

”Everything has an asterisk on it until we put pads on,” Burke said.

Miami hopes and need to be much better on defense than last season, Burke’s first as a coordinator under coach Adam Gase. The Dolphins ranked 29th in points allowed at 24.6 per game, and then parted with their best defensive player, five-time Pro Bowl tackle Ndamukong Suh.

On the plus side Rasheem Green Color Rush Jersey , they added veteran Robert Quinn at defensive end and first-round draft pick Minkah Fitzpatrick at safety. Raekwon McMillan, a 2017 second-round pick, returns to start at middle linebacker after missing his entire rookie season because of a knee injury. And depth appears improved at end, linebacker and safety.

”We don’t have any positions set in stone right now,” Burke said. ”We’re rolling a lot of guys at a lot of positions.”

Fitzpatrick, for example, is splitting his time among the free safety, strong safety and nickel back positions.

”He’s probably about as advertised,” Burke said. ”He’s really sharp. He’s thirsty for knowledge. We’re trying to overload him, and he keeps taking it. We are moving him around at some different spots and trying to get a feel for what his best fit is. He has responded well.”

At defensive end Vontaze Burfict Bengals Jersey , the rotation will include Quinn, Cameron Wake, Andre Branch, William Hayes and 2017 first-round pick Charles Harris.

”Our plan would be to rotate different groups,” Burke said. ”We feel we’ll be better off having fresh guys, whether it’s for two, three or four snaps at a time, and then send the next group in. Building depth there was important to us. We want guys going full speed.”

The Dolphins have four more practices scheduled next week and then break until training camp, allowing the 42-year-old Burke to embark on his latest exotic vacation in Bora Bora, a small island in the South Pacific. He has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro Shaquem Griffin Jersey , done charity work in Uganda, and taken a safari in three other African countries.

Burke joked in the past about Gase calling him during vacation with football questions, and had a quick response when asked if the boss will be able to reach him this time.

”Whether I have cellphone service or not,” Burke said, ”the answer is no.”

Decisions about who’s playing where will have to wait.

There are 32 NFL franchises Jeremy Kerley Jersey Elite , and probably 32 questions we can ask about each of them.

Some are quite pertinent: Carson Wentz or Nick Foles behind center in Philadelphia? Will J.J. Watt and Deshaun Watson return healthy to Houston and carry the Texans back to the AFC South lead? Will fans be screaming for their first-round rookie quarterback to get on the field, like, yesterday?

Good questions all.

But we're concerned here with the irrelevant queries. Such as:

1-Can Tom Brady win at age 41?

Maybe you should ask this question when he is 51 鈥?just kidding, Gisele.

At 40, Brady was as Tom Terrific as ever, even without his favorite receiver, Julian Edelman, for the entire season. To think he suddenly will go over the hill with the way he trains and his smarts and competitive fire is foolhardy.

"Obviously, I evaluate last season and things I can do better. I don't think this offseason was any different for me," he has said.

No, Brady won't play forever; the Jets, Bills and Dolphins surely can't wait until he disappears, not to mention the rest of the AFC. But wondering about Brady's competence in 2018, when he just might win his fourth league MVP award, is an irrelevant task.

2-Will the Browns win a game?

Yes they will Martavis Bryant Jersey Elite , maybe even in Week 1 at home against their archrivals, the Steelers, but more likely somewhere else in the first half of a schedule that isn't exactly daunting.

We understand that every matchup for a club that is 1-31 under coach Hue Jackson is challenging. Still, the Browns added enough talent to win a handful of games or more 鈥?and that's not even considering what top overall draft pick Baker Mayfield might provide at quarterback if he gets on the field.

3-Will Jimmy Garoppolo ever lose a game?

Yes, he will 鈥?plenty of them.

Sure, Jimmy G is 7-0 as a starter, including 5-0 when he took the reins in San Francisco last year. Look for that first loss to come early this season, perhaps in the opener at Minnesota, a major challenge for the rebuilding 49ers.

Visits to the Chiefs and Chargers also are on the September docket.

So thoughts of Garoppolo remaining unblemished are irrelevant.

That doesn't mean he won't improve; he might do so significantly.

"I don't know how much of a jump you're going to see," coach Kyle Shanahan said. "When you talk about expectations, I don't know how you're going to live up to that. He did very good last year. If we had 400 yards a game, does that mean we need to have 600 the first five games to improve? I don't know what the numbers will be, but we will be a better offense."

4_Will the NFL and players' union find common ground on national anthem protocol. Or anything else?

Nope. Not even close.

The 10-year labor agreement expires after the 2020 season. The union has fought the league on virtually every topic in it and quite a few outside of it. The anthem policy unilaterally imposed by the league and teams is the latest sticking point.

Common ground between these sides? Irrelevant.

5-Is Jon Gruden headed back to the broadcast booth after this season?

It might be tempting for Gruden once he sees how much pro football locker rooms and player approaches have changed since he previously worked a sideline 10 years ago. Still, to suggest a guy with his enthusiasm, intelligence and creative streak is going to sour on coaching so soon is ... irrelevant.

Gruden could be hard-pressed to win much this season with Oakland Authentic Alex Cappa Jersey , but he'll put his stamp on the Raiders, and they will be better for it down the line 鈥?when he'll almost certainly be around.

6-In how many stadiums will Roger Goodell be booed this season?

Let's see: There are 31 homes for the teams (the Jets and Giants share MetLife Stadium), plus Azteca in Mexico City, Wembley and the new Tottenham Stadium in London. So 34 works.

Thinking the commissioner won't get booed in any of them? Irrelevant.

When the Los Angeles Rams traded for cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters and signed defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, there were questions about how those three personalities might or might not coexist on the same defense.

Wrapping up their mandatory minicamp Wednesday, the Rams are optimistic those concerns have been put to rest.

"They came in, they were open-minded, and they are coming out here and jumped right into the culture," cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman said of the three high-profile additions.

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips meshed well with Talib when coaching him in Denver during the 2015-16 seasons, and his initial impressions of Peters and Suh have been just as positive. Already aware of the physical talent of Peters and Suh, Phillips praised the work ethic and intelligence of both men.

"You don't always know that," Phillips said. "I mean, sometimes a guy is really talented, but these guys are smart players and talented. And they do things so easily, so naturally. Ndamukong has so much power Redskins Pernell McPhee Jersey , you can see it. He just holds a guy off with one arm, those kind of things. And then the movement skills of Marcus are outstanding. He has great change of direction, he's got great hands."

As for Talib, Phillips said he remains as feisty as ever.

"If there's an argument or if there is something going on, Talib is going to take the other side. No matter what it is. He's going to argue about which rap singer is the best or whatever," Phillips said.

But Phillips likes how the the attitudes of all three carry over onto the field.

Phillips pointed to an interception Peters made last season for Kansas City, coming off his assigned receiver in man-to-man coverage and making a play on the ball.

"I like personalities because they are independent enough to do things on their own, and they have shown they are independent enough to be great players, too. You don't want a player who does everything you say. You want guys that have some initiative," Phillips said.

With Talib and Peters in the fold, Phillips now has the defensive backs to showcase his own creativity.

Talib and Peters can line up on either side of the field, which is an unusual trait in top cornerbacks, and it gives Phillips added flexibility in how to use them. Add in Phillips' confidence in deploying starting safeties Lamarcus Joyner and John Johnson in man coverage, and the veteran coach can call whatever scheme he can conceive.

"It gives you so many possibilities to double-cover somebody and put the pressure on one of those guys to cover his guy by himself, and I'm talking about any one of those four. They can help linebackers if they need help Chase Edmonds Jersey Elite ," Phillips said. "I mean, I can think of a lot of things to play, but I haven't always had the players to play those coverages and so forth and these guys can, so we've got a lot of versatility there."

The possibilities of a secondary with Talib and Peters and a defensive line that will put Suh alongside Aaron Donald have elevated the Rams among the early Super Bowl contenders, and Suh believes that potential is what has allowed the trio to integrate so seamlessly and will keep the team unified.

"I think it's easy," Suh said. "We all have one common goal, which is wanting to win and be successful. No matter how strong somebody's personality is or not, it's about as long as you have the same goal all meshing to where you want to be."

The swagger of Suh, Talib and Peters has rubbed off on Robby-Coleman, and the slot cornerback would be disappointed if the Rams do not have the top secondary and best defense in the NFL this season, provided everyone stays healthy.

"That's the level of confidence that we have," Robby-Coleman said.

Sidney Crosby tormented the Flyers just as he has from the start of his NHL career. Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin were clutch when needed in pivotal games. And Matt Murray? Oh Authentic Cordy Glenn Jersey , just two shutouts and the type of outings that show more zeros on the board are possible in the second round – and maybe, beyond.

But with the game on the line and facing a Game 7 on home ice where they already lost twice, the Pittsburgh Penguins turned to a blossoming postseason star to lead the way.

Jake Guentzel was just the player to bail out the Pens.

He scored the tying and go-ahead goals in Game 6, then scored two more – all four in succession – to put the game away and lift the Penguins to an 8-5 Game 6 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

The Flyers are headed home, as usual, with a Stanley Cup drought that dates to 1975.

The Penguins are nestled in a familiar spot, in the second round for the 11th time in the last 12 seasons.

But a bigger prize looms for the Penguins – a third straight Stanley Cup. The Penguins have won nine straight playoff series, which ties a franchise record and are the most in the NHL since the Detroit Red Wings also won nine from 1997 to 1999.

The New York Islanders are the last team to win 10 straight, in fact, they won 19 consecutive postseason series (1980 to 1984) that included four Stanley Cup championships.

Now comes the hard part.

Pittsburgh has reached the same round as the last three teams going for a threepeat (1989 Oilers, 1993 Penguins, 1999 Red Wings) – and all three lost in the second round.

The Penguins say Michael Dickson Jersey Seahawks , bring it on.

”Things are never going to always go your way, especially in the playoffs,” Murray said. ”We got the job done. This time of year, it doesn’t matter how, it just matters that you get the win.”

Crosby had a hat trick in Game 1 and matched a postseason-high with four points in a Game 3 win in the Philadelphia arena where fans stuck his photo on the inside of urinals.

He shook it off – as if he was ever bothered by the activity – and scored six goals and had 13 points in the series.

”Sid loves to compete. When he goes to hostile environments, he’s at his best,” coach Mike Sullivan said. ”He’s a high-stakes player. He has `it’. `It’ is what helps you perform in those big moments. It’s hard to explain `it’. You know `it’ when you see it. Sid is one of those guys.”

Crosby has been the dominant and reliable Penguin over the course of a career that includes three Stanley Cups. But this season brought new challenges to the franchise.

The Penguins have crafted a new identity after the departures of Chris Kunitz, Marc-Andre Fleury, Nick Bonino, Trevor Daley and Matt Cullen, all vital pieces of Pittsburgh’s 2016 and 2017 titles.

”I think we have a bunch of capable guys that can play for us here. It’s kind of the next man up and the guys did a great job,” Guentzel said.

Sure Bengals Billy Price Jersey , four goals is a bit ridiculous, but Guentzel will need to be a key contributor again especially if Malkin isn’t ready to go.

Malkin, who scored three goals in five games, sat out Game 6 with a leg injury. He missed the final four minutes of the first period in Game 5 after Philadelphia’s Jori Lehtera fell on it when the two got tangled in the corner. Malkin returned to start the second period. But he was hurt to the point where he sat out Game 6, and all it takes is one nagging injury to slow down the road toward completing the Stanley Cup trilogy.

If he plays or not, there are still enough playoff-tested Penguins to keep them rolling.

”We’ve been through a number of these elimination games over the last couple of years so it’s not a surprise to any of us,” Sullivan said. ”My hope moving forward is we can learn from those experiences and hopefully we have better success.”

The Houston Rockets were the best team in the NBA in the regular season.

They played like it Wednesday night, using a balanced scoring attack to rout the Golden State Warriors 127-105 and even the Western Conference finals at one game apiece.

James Harden and Eric Gordon each scored 27 points on a night Houston had five players score 16 points or more.

”We can beat anybody, anywhere at any time playing the way we play,” coach Mike D’Antoni said.

The Rockets didn’t trail after the first quarter and led by double digits for most of the night. They head to Oakland, California for Game 3 on Sunday night feeling much better after rebounding from a deflating 119-106 loss in the series opener.

P.J. Tucker added a playoff career-high 22 and Trevor Ariza had 19 as both bounced back after struggling in Game 1. Tucker had just one point in that game and Ariza scored eight, but was limited on defense after collecting his fifth foul early in the third quarter.

”I never worry about my offense … it’s all on defense James Daniels Jersey Elite ,” Tucker said. ”If we get stops we’ll be able to run. It changes the game and it changes the way we play and we know that.”

Kevin Durant had 38 points after scoring 37 in the opener, but Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for just 24 points after the pair went for 46 in Game 1.

Houston wasn’t able to slow down Durant, but did a much better job of limiting open 3-pointers by Thompson and Curry, and the two made just 3 of 12 attempts.

”They were desperate tonight and played like it, and we weren’t and it showed,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said.

The Warriors made three free throws to get within 11 early in the fourth quarter before the Rockets scored the next 11 points, with 3s from Gordon, Tucker and Harden to make it 111-89 with about 6 1/2 minutes to play.

Durant made a basket after that, but Houston scored the next eight points to extend the lead to 119-91 with about five minutes left.

The Warriors got frustrated in that stretch, with Durant getting a technical for shoving Harden in the back and Draymond Green pushing Ariza out of bounds seconds later. It was then that Kerr sent all of his starters to the bench for good.

Gordon came off the bench to make six 3-pointers, Tucker tied a playoff best with five and Harden added three.

”They were more settled tonight and they hit timely shots,” Durant said. ”The first quarter was still the most important part of the game. Eric Gordon hit two big 3s and that kind of settled them in. Those shots did it for them.”

Houston avoided losing consecutive games for the first time this postseason and the Warriors lost in the second game of a playoff series for the first time since the 2015 NBA Finals Ty Montgomery Jersey Youth , snapping a 10-game winning streak in such games.

”We got outplayed the whole game … we got it handed to us,” Kerr said. ”You can look at it any way you want … and parcel it out, but it didn’t matter who we had out there tonight we got beat.”

Houston led by as many as 19 in the first half and was up 64-50 at halftime. The Warriors cut it to 74-64 with five quick points from Durant, but the Rockets opened it back up to 89-72 when Gordon made an off-balance layup before crashing to the court while being fouled and made the free throw.

The Rockets were up by 16 to start the fourth quarter but Golden State got within 98-86 with about 10 minutes left. Curry had five points in that span, including his first 3 after missing his first six attempts of the night.

Curry finished with 16 points and Thompson was 3 for 11 for his eight points.

Warriors: It was Durant’s 19th straight playoff game with at least 20 points. … Curry made one 3-pointer to extend his NBA playoff record of 81 straight playoff games with at least one 3-pointer. … Durant and Curry were Golden State’s only players with more than 10 points.

Rockets: Houston improved to 8-0 this postseason when leading after three quarters. … Houston made 16 of 42 3-point attempts. … Paul finished with 16 points.

Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil’ Wayne took the Rockets’ first shot for charity before the game. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the 5-foot-5 Wayne’s shot was a little short. The New Orleans native, who has attended several playoff games in Houston this postseason, still received a loud ovation from the crowd.

Curry on Durant: ”He’s been amazing. He’s making plays. He’s just aggressive and I think we all need to feed off that, the focus and determination.”

After Game 3, the teams will play Game 4 on Tuesday night in Oakland before returning to Houston for Game 5 on Thursday.

Whatever job we might do, and whatever rewards we work for, whether they be financial, ethical or sporting success, we all need the occasional holiday. Hydro Flask 24 Oz Mint . No more so than the professional cricketer, the athlete performing in the glare of attention from the press and public, the lone individual in the team endeavour, forever just a few games away from career failure.Last week Nick Compton, a batsman previously tipped as a future England star, put away his kit bag and announced an indefinite break from cricket.I wont say I know how he feels, because I dont. My grandfather drove steam trains; Denis Compton scored hundreds at Lords. I played a handful of games for Leicestershire CCC Under-17s, quickly realised I wasnt good enough to go any further, while Nick was burdened - if talent can be a burden - with both ability and a stellar family name to live up to from day one. What we do have in common is a retreat from cricket. From the moment I could walk, I had a bat in my hand. In the summer I hit balls in back gardens, school playgrounds and on the park. In the winter I netted or played against factory walls under streetlights. While other kids got chickenpox, I caught cricket fever. Aged 11 I joined Barkby United CC, and whenever I could, I rode my BMX to their beautiful hills and furrows ground, which had seven trees inside the boundary. When I made it into Leicestershire Schools aged 15, I remember looking at my fixture card and realising that with a combination of junior and senior cricket I had the whole month of July in whites. It was cricket heaven. For that season and the next. And the next. Week in, week out. Then the same fixtures, the same away games against the same teams. The viscous sledging in the pressure cooker of senior league cricket. Making it into the Leicestershire side, and then being dropped from the Leicestershire side.I cant remember the exact day I quit, but I was in my early twenties and my kit bag had been stolen from my girlfriends house. Not that losing my favourite Duncan Fearnley was a reason to give up - I was barely using it, considering the form I was in. I quit because I was burnt out after years of non-stop cricket. Suddenly I felt bored on the pitch. And Id found out that turning up to play still drunk after a night out clubbing didnt help me take wickets or score runs. I was dropped into the second team and didnt care. For the next 12 years I never donned a pair of whites. I barely watched the game, either, which was good timing considering it was the 1990s, a decade, as historian Tom Holland wrote in the Guardian, of unprecedented darkness and despair for England cricket fans.Id fallen out of love with the game Id spent most of life obsessed with. I had no kit, and I travelled for most of my twenties, living on a ship, or in the semi-cricketless nations of Japan and the USA. Although there were flings with ad hoc cricket, including a detailed living-room Test series with armchair fielders in an East London squat, and frenetic games on beaches and streets while backpacking through India, the formalities of the sport held no attraction. Yet perhaps a return to cricket was inevitable. All those hours invested into the skills of such a complex game, and the memories formed on bus journeys to Grace Road to watch my heroes, or playing with my dad in the back garden, can hardly be erased.Still, an indoor tennis school in Chiba, a city just downwind of the leaking Fukushima nuclear reactor, was the surprise venue to bring me back to cricket. I was researching my third novel, Tokyo, and was looking for a social sport to play that was easier on my body than rugby, and joined a thriving indoor league - more for the excuse to have a beer than to hit a ball. And I did wonder if I was even capable of turning my arm over when asked to bowl. But I got it down to the other end at a decent pace and on a decent length. What made me realise the joy I was missing was the shot played. The opening bat for the Japan Ladies team stroked an immaculate straight drive into the netting. Style and technique. A moment of flow that I felt glad to be a part of, as if I were an actor in a performance rather than a competing foe.Back in England I bought whites, a bat, and all the accoutrements that a fully fledged cricketer needs. Id fallen back in love. I played league cricket, friendlies, and helped revive the Authors CC. Six years on, my resurgence continues. There might be days, trudging back to the pavilion after a bad decision or a low score, or playing in one of those matches where dropped catches skittle across the outfield, or I simply watch my best deliveries sail over the boundary rope, that I grumble and wonder at the point of standing in a field. Then a ball cannons from the middle of the bat - the bat that Im holding. Or a leggie grips and takes the off stump, and the bails tinkle.Form helps a cricketer enjoy the game. But enjoying the game helps form. I hope Compton feels invigorated by the holiday. I hope he knows nothing about the series played in his absence. I hope he forgets about the County Championship and the IPL and puts his kit bag in the garage and locks the door. And I hope he comes back to the sport he once must have loved. RICHMOND, Va. Wholesale Nike Payaa From China . -- Nick Barnett stood on the practice field Thursday morning wearing a white Washington Redskins cap turned backward, his hands behind his back. He was to the right of London Fletcher, picking the brain of a fellow old-man linebacker. There was a moment where they each stretched out an arm, pointing toward something in the play that was being run. Fletcher was 32 when he signed with the Redskins six years ago, and hes still going strong. Barnett is now 32, and hes the latest addition to the teams linebacker corps. He signed a one-year deal as a sort of London Fletcher Insurance Policy, a veteran to have around in case the 38-year-old guy ever misses a game. "Hes definitely a good teacher," Barnett said. "Hes one of those guys Ive always looked up to as a player, being one of the undersized linebackers and seeing the way he plays, his tenacity, his relentless pursuit, his consistency as a linebacker. He knows the defence inside out." Barnett and Fletcher both came to Washington via the Buffalo Bills. Barnett spent the last two years there after eight with the Green Bay Packers. Hes started 139 games and, like Fletcher, has been a tackling machine, topping out with 102 with the Packers in 2007. But hes been banged up the last few years. Right knee in 2008. Right wrist in 2010. Right ankle in 2011. Right knee again in 2012. He didnt miss a game in 2011 or 2012, but the Bills cut him in February after he failed a physical. He then had surgery on his right knee, and the subsequent rehab essentially kept him from signing with a new team until now. "Im going to ride it until the wheels fall off," Barnett said, "until they tell me I cant play no more. I enjoy the game, and I dont think Ill ever stop enjoying the game. As long as someone has a home for me, Im going to bring my pillow and my sleeping bag." His pillow on Wednesday was in a Richmond hotel, where he waited all day to hear if the Redskins were impressed enough with his workouts to sign him. He said he watched three movies, joking that he ordered them on the teams bill. "Nothing good," he said. "Its been a bad summer for movies." Barnett said he previously talked to a couple of other teams, but he wanted to play for the defending NFC East champions. "I dont want any more 6-10 seasons," said Barnett, who experienced that very record two last two years with the Bills. Barnett has started all 139 regular season games in which hes played in the NFL, so hell have to deal with being a backup for the first time in his career if he makes the 53-man roster. Fletcher has never missed a game in 15 seasons in the league. "Even though Ive started every game that Ive played, Ive always thought you could come off the bench and be just as big of an impact as well," Barnett said. Barnett is basically replacing 2012 fourth-round draft pick Keenan Robinson, at least for now. Robinson is being groomed as Fletchers eventual successor, but he tore his left pectoral muscle on the opening day of training camp, his second shoulder injury in less than a year. Barnett stayed on the field after the morning walkthrough for more conditioning drills to get him back into shape. At least the playbook shouldnt be hard to learn -- he said its similar to the one he had in Green Bay. "It is almost like if you spoke Spanish for two years," Barnett said, "and then you stop speaking it and then you go back and read the book: Oh yeah, I remember those words." Its no surprise that Bernie Ecclestone has been asked by F1s new minority-stake owners to stay on for three years. Nike Zoom Noir . Liberty Media may understand sport and Major League Baseball in particular but the owners of the entertainment business are astute enough to realise that F1 is a law onto itself.Whether thats a good or a bad thing is another matter. Liberty Media have clearly been quick to realise that, like it or not, the day-to-day running of F1 would descend into chaos if several well-meaning managers attempted to embrace the work of an occasionally less than benign dictator.Ecclestone controls virtually everything he sees through the smoked glass windows of an austere mobile headquarters strategically positioned in every European paddock. The fact that F1 is like no other sport in terms of structure and control is totally down to an 85-year-old dictator who may be small in size but is huge in influence and a form of control verging on obsession. If Ecclestone is not discussing -- some might say dictating -- terms with hapless race promoters, he is scrutinising aerial photographs of the race track and its environs to ensure cars and trucks are parked perfectly in line. This mania for neatness is an extension of a sharp eye for detail and opportunity that has embraced a restructuring of the sport and brought with it the accumulation of vast personal wealth during the past four decades.F1 in the Sixties used to be an organisational shambles; a reflection of the post-war years when everyone was happy to simply go motor racing and have fun. Fatalities and flimsy bank balances were considered to be part of the sports fabric. The prevailing attitude seemed to be that if this was too uncomfortable, you went off and did something less costly in every sense.Ecclestone understood the element of risk and tragedy in 1958 and 1970 when he had to cope with the deaths of Stuart Lewis-Evans and Jochen Rindt, whom he managed after giving up illusions of becoming a driver himself. It was not until he bought Brabham in 1971 that Ecclestone began to fully appreciate the financial potential of what was an allegedly professional sport run in an amateurish fashion. Teams negotiated individually with each race organiser for starting money, the bulk of which was spent on keeping Ferrari sweet (thus proving some aspects of todays hugely transformed business remain exactly as they were). As a spectator, you never knew which team would turn up to take part in a Grand Prix weekend, the timetable for which could change each day at the whim of the promoter. And some of the wheezing, oil-burning collections of racing car parts at the back of the grid were not fit for purpose in any race, never mind a Grand Prix. With the exception of the races in Monaco, Britain and Italy, television coverage did not exist.Ecclestone single-handedly changed all of that. While introducing collective bargaining for everyones financial benefit, the teams had to play their part by presenting a professional show. The change has been immense: from oily overalls to crisp uniforms; grimy enclaves to immaculate garages; kettles and teapots to Michelin cuisine; all of which are the backdrop to a sports show performed fortnightly on a global basis.Ecclestone has arguably gone too far with many things, more noticeably his soulless paddocks and an isolation policy that keeps the stars away from the people who pay to watch. Its as if these irritating spectators clutter Ecclestones vision of an immaculate business that generates money. And dont even begin to ask Mr. E about social media; he probably thinks platforms are something needed when he last used a train fifty years ago. From what we can tell, Liberty Media has the necessary understanding of everything required to bring F1 up to speed with digital content and the needs of a younger potential audience. In the meantime Ecclestone, for all his faults, is required to keep the wheels turning in every sense. Nike Zoom Fly SP Pas Cher . LUCIE, Fla. Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour Rouge . BOSTON -- Alex Rodriguez drove in a run with a bases-loaded dribbler, capping a three-run rally in the eighth inning that lifted the New York Yankees over the Red Sox 4-2 Thursday night and sent the booed designated hitter out of Boston with one last victory. Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys .Rodriguez is set to play his final game for New York on Friday night at Yankee Stadium against Tampa Bay. The slumping 41-year-old will then be released and become an adviser and instructor for the team.Rodriguez was 0 for 4 and loudly jeered throughout the game, which turned in the Yankees favor on a crucial fielding mistake that allowed them to overcome a 2-1 deficit and take two out of three in the series.Rodriguez lined out, popped out and struck out before his tapper in front of the plate in the eighth allowed Brett Gardner to score from third and put New York up 4-2.In 1994, Rodriguez was a teenager with Seattle when he got an infield single at Fenway Park for his first major league hit.The RBI for Rodriguez came after the Red Sox intentionally walked Chase Headley with one out.And it punctuated the frustration for Boston fans who had just seen former Red Sox star Jacoby Ellsbury, booed almost as loudly as Rodriguez, hit a fly ball to left field that rookie Andrew Benintendi misread with the bases loaded. The ball went past Benintendi, allowing two runs to score on what was originally ruled a sacrifice fly and error. Oregon earned its highest ranking ever in the Associated Press poll on Monday but then started to drop on Tuesday when the fourth-ranked Ducks fell to 1-1 with a 66-49 loss at Baylor. Dres Tin Jedvaj .The Ducks are back on the court at home Thursday night against Valparaiso, which went 30-7 last year, including a 73-67 loss at Oregon.Valpo won 30 games last year and I said they would do that before the season, Oregon coach Dana Altman said. I said they were going to win 30 and I hoped we were not one of them. And they are going to win 30 games again, and I hope we are not one of them.Valparaiso is 3-0 after wins over Southern Utah, Trinity Christian and Coppin State, but Oregon will present a bigger challenge. The Ducks are expected to once again be without all-conference forward Dillon Brooks, who had foot surgery in July. The Ducks are hopeful he can return next week when Oregon plays in the Maui Invitational. We did not have him in the summer or for preseason practices, so it is no excuse at all, Oregon junior forward Jordan Bell said. When he comes back, he will help us.Oregon had a lackluster start to the season. After a 91-77 win over Army, the Ducks lost by 17 at Baylor. Point guard Dylan Ennis scored 16 points as the Ducks shot just 32.8 percent against the Bears. We have a lot of work to do, and Ive been really telling the guys that for the last two or three weeks, Altman said. I liked our first couple weeks of practice and then we got stuck in gear. We had a hard time getting out of that, but I hope we can figure out a way to get it in another gear.Oregon has a veteran team, with four returning starters, and Altman said he hopes they hear his message soon. That comes from leadership within the team, he said. They have not been doing a good job listening to my warnings. I hope the guys talk about it, because it is their team. They are going to make a decision on the identity for their team. We give them some suggestions, but they are going to have to change the way they approach it.Oregon has a difficult schedule. After Valparaiso, the Ducks head next week to the Maui Invitational, where they will open against Georgetown. The Ducks are one of three teams currently ranked in the eight-team field. This is as tough of a start to the schedule as we have had here, said Altman, who is beginning his seventh season at the school.Senior forward Alec Peters is averaging 26.3 points per game for Valparaiso while senior guard Shane Hammink is scoring 18.7 per game for the Crusaders, who are averaging 82 points per game. Ante Rebic Dres . Brazilian national coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that the veteran goalkeeper is set to join Toronto on loan, saying it will help him be ready for the World Cup. "It doesnt get any better than that," Giambi said. "Im speechless." The Indians are roaring toward October. Giambi belted a two-run, pinch-hit homer with two outs in the ninth inning to give Cleveland a shocking 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night, keeping the Indians up with the lead pack in the AL wild-card race. Jenson Button blamed the dawdling Renault of Jolyon Palmer for his Q1 elimination in Austin, though he also admitted McLaren messed up its timing by sending him out too early.Sitting in the drop zone late in the session, Button left the garage earlier than anyone else for the final runs of Q1. That meant he hit a group of slow-moving cars at the end of his flying lap as they prepared for their own attempts, preventing the 2009 world champion from improving on his time.Though frustrated by the traffic Button, who qualified 19th, conceded McLaren had got the timing wrong. We were 8th yesterday and 9th this morning [in FP3], the pace was good, but we messed up with the timing in Q1 - its not the first time this happens - and I had four cars to overtake in the last sector.Button was particularly unimpressed by the driving of Renaults Jolyon Palmer, who he encountered at the final corner. Palmer, who appeared to see the McLaren late, moved across onto the kerbs but Button does not think he did enough to get out of the way at a crucial point of the lap.The last one, saw me really late and stayed on the racing line, so I had to out-brake him into the last corner and, you know, there its so important to brake late and carry speed into the corner, but you cant do that if youre off line. And yoou dont know what the other car is doing, because he was weaving around, so. Dresovi Vedran Corluka. ..Its disappointing and its the kind of thing we shouldnt be making mistakes in, got a Renault on the way again, as it has happened in the last couple of races... It doesnt mater what they see, this is what theyve done today...Palmer did not receive a penalty for the incident and progressed to Q2 -- eventually qualifying 15th. Though he vented his frustration to the Renault pit wall at the end of Q1 for not giving him ample warning of Button behind, Palmer defended his driving after the session.Q1 was closer than it needed to be, because no-one told me about the traffic, he told Sky Sports. In the last corner I had to literally get off the road to not get a penalty. I think they looked into it and said no further action.I saw him and I literally jumped off the track, I wasnt even on the track when he came past. I tried my best to get out of the way. I dont think it probably cost him three tenths me getting in the way.It meant I only got one clear lap in Q1, and I only had one in Q2 also - but they were both pretty good. Im happy, I dont think we could have had any more.
