Israel Folau isnt the only Waratahs player in the Hurricanes defensive cross-hairs as they prepare for a momentous Super Rugby clash in Sydney. Larry Bird Jersey .Careful analysis of the Sydneysiders has broken down their attacking methods, much of which is directed towards giving space to brilliant Wallabies back Folau.Coach Chris Boyd says while the Hurricanes back their own attacking weapons to give the Waratahs problems on Saturday, he has spent much of his week fine-tuning the defensive structure. If you look at the way the Waratahs play and the positions they put Israel Folau in, theres no doubt he is more dangerous from broken play, Boyd said.Theyre clever the way they put him into positions that they want to, to get the most out of his game.Boyd also pointed to statistics which show flanker Michael Hooper and lock Will Skelton are among the most effective attacking players in their positions in Super Rugby. He says their involvement, often in the backline, and the go-forward they can generate is influential.Theres 3-4 guys who are pretty dominant in their game offensively. Youd be stupid to ignore guys like Hooper and Skelton who do a lot for them.Boyd says he doesnt need to say much to motivate his players, with their season at a potential cross-roads with two rounds remaining.Fourth overall and just three points behind the competition-leading Lions, they could yet match their top-qualifying achievement from last year.Yet if they lose in Sydney, they are under threat to miss the play-offs completely, with the Waratahs potentially the team to snatch a wildcard spot from them.Boyd doesnt want to contemplate playing away to the Crusaders in the final round next week if their season is on the line.He suspects the in-form Waratahs will throw everything at a game which is pivotal in their race for Australian conference honours against co-leaders, the Brumbies. At the end of the day, theyre desperate, were as keen as and were in their patch.Theyve become a handful, particularly at the back end of the season. They had a pretty soft start to the season and theyre chock-full of Wallabies so theyre a tough assignment for us. Paul Pierce Jersey .Y. - Free agent outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, fresh off winning the World Series with Boston, reached agreement with the rival New York Yankees on a seven-year contract worth about $153 million, a person familiar with the negotiations said Tuesday night. Having already announced that the race will start May 9 with three stages in Northern Ireland and Ireland and finish in Trieste on June 1, the rest of the route was unveiled Monday. .ca. Hey Kerry, big fan of yours, just finished reading your book. I think that we all saw the Canucks/Flames line brawl just after puck drop. It was obvious that something was about to happen, even to the referees because the fourth lines were on to start. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. has more 15-yard penalties than sacks, a growing concern for the Jacksonville Jaguars.Fowler has been flagged nine times this season, which is tied for the fourth most in the NFL, and three of those were major infractions. He was called for unnecessary roughness late in the second quarter of Sundays 24-21 loss to Houston , penalized for hitting quarterback Brock Osweiler well out of bounds. It didnt end up costing the Jaguars (2-7) any points, but it continued a trend that started in the preseason. And Fowler has shown few, if any, signs of getting his undisciplined acts under control. Jacksonville plays at Detroit (5-4) on Sunday.I thought he was making good strides, coach Gus Bradley said Monday. I told you the last couple of weeks you could see a conscious (effort) in him as far as hitting the quarterback late or targeting. I thought he made great strides with that. It was a foolish penalty (Sunday). Its like two steps forward, one step back. He knows. We had the discussion at halftime, too. He has to grow up in that area.Bradley benched Fowler for the remainder of the half, which amounted to four plays. It was the second time in the last three games the coach kept Fowler on the sideline after a silly penalty.Bradley also benched Fowler for throwing a punch early in the second quarter of a lopsided loss at Tennessee. That one turned a 15-yard completion into a 30-yard play and helped the Titans build a 17-0 lead. The third overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Fowler said afterward that missing his rookie season because of a knee injury affected him psychologically and has his emotions amped up -- maybe too hyped -- while on the field. When Im out there, Im just out ffor blood and everybody, Fowler said. Al Horford Jersey. I have to tame that and control that.It hasnt happened, evidenced by his late hit on Osweiler.Clearly out of bounds, Bradley said. I think thats what was frustrating in that situation.Adding to his woes, Fowlers not getting consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. He has 2 1/2 sacks in nine games and has been supplanted in the starting lineup by rookie Yannick Ngakoue, and his lack of control and numbers have some wondering if Fowler has more potential to be bust than a Pro Bowler.Dantes challenge is his footwork, and youll see it in practice, Bradley said. Hell go do individual drill work and hes trying to get better at it. Hell come into practice and its a team rep and you might see him do it two out of three times. In the game, he reverts back to one out of three times, where in the past you didnt see it transfer over to the game.I think were trying to break that habit to where he gets more pressure, more up-field to where it opens up more of his game.Fowler was dominant in college, finishing his three-year Florida career with 140 tackles, including 33 behind the line of scrimmage, and 14 + sacks. His skills havent transferred to the next level yet, and his penchant for penalties has the Jaguars unable to fully trust him on the field.I think Gus knows and we have a pretty good understanding of the type of player that I am and my emotions, Fowler said recently. But I guess I let my emotions get the best of me. I dont want to hurt the team. ... Its just about being smart.---AP NFL website: and Cheap Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Store Cheap Jerseys Online Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping ' ' '

During the athletes parade, the 23-strong Ukrainian team was represented by a lone flagbearer in an apparent protest at the presence of Russian troops in Ukraines Crimean peninsula. CHICAGO -- It was bad enough that the quarterback on the other side made him look like the rookie. That it happened on Monday night might have made it sting even more for star-crossed Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. And that was even before the Eagles added injury to insult, forcing him out of the game with a bad thumb on his throwing hand late in the third quarter of a 29-14 loss to the Eagles .Cutler couldnt pinpoint when his thumb began to hurt, but acknowledged trouble gripping the ball from early on in the game. The injury was aggravated as he tried to plant his right hand and break his fall on a strip-sack by Philadelphias Destiny Vaeao in the third quarter.Even though he played two more offensive series after the fumble, Cutler watched Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham step in front of an underthrown pass intended for Alshon Jeffery another 10 yards up the field and decided to exit and begin treatment in the locker room.I couldnt get as much on it as I wanted, he said about the interception. I knew that I was putting the team, especially the offense, in jeopardy at that point. My day was done. But first, Cutler had to endure a dressing down on the sideline from injured teammate Pernell McPhee.Hes a passionate guy, Cutler said, shrugging off the brief spat. No one likes to lose in that type of fashion. The strange thing is, Monday nights had been one of the few reliable bright spots for Cutler and the Bears. While Chicago has struggled to hit the .500 mark more often than not in his seven seasons here, they were 8-2 in his previous Monday night appearances. That was no coincidence. Cutler threw 20 touchdowns, averaged better than seven years per attempt and posted a 95.5 rating in those games. His numbers in thiis one werent even close. Mexico Oswaldo Alanis World Cup Jersey. . He finished 12 of 17 for 157 yards, no touchdowns, an interception and fumble and a passer rating of 74.9.Bears coach John Fox said the turnovers forced the Bears into some tough situations against Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz. He obviously has a lot of great football ahead of him, Fox said.In the home locker room, though, teammates wondered how much more of this season Cutler can play. Its never good to lose your franchise quarterback, whether its for a play, a game or possibly even longer, Bears tight end Zach Miller said. Especially when you know how much work hes put in.Chicagos 0-2 start could be even worse than it looks. Tests are scheduled for tomorrow on Cutlers hand, but the Bears also lost linebacker Lamarr Houston (left knee), nose tackle Eddie Goldman, (ankle) and safety Adrian Amos and cornerback Bryce Callahan (concussions). The team already is struggling with a patchwork offensive line and the departure of steady all-purpose running back Matt Forte, who often served as Cutlers safety valve. Its tough, Fox conceded. If it was easy anybody could do it. ... Right now all our focus very quickly will go to Dallas to go on the road Sunday night. And we have a lot of proving to do.Some of it will no doubt begin with Cutler. After the game, Bradham said Our game plan this week was pretty much to frustrate the quarterback. It worked well enough.I think everyone was probably a little taken back by what happened, Cutler said. CLEVELAND -- LeBron James is about to hit the free-agency market and stay right at home. Kevin Mchale Jersey .James declined his player option for next season with the NBA champion Cavaliers, but the finals MVP has made it clear he has no intention of leaving Cleveland anytime soon. He had until midnight Wednesday to pick up the option, which would have paid him $24 million next season. The 31-year-old superstar has been a free agent the past three summers, electing each time to sign two-year contracts with a player option for the second season. Its not yet clear if hell sign another short-term deal or a multiyear package. His agent, Rich Paul, told The Associated Press there is no timetable on when James will re-sign or what type of contract hell pursue. With the leagues salary cap poised to swell dramatically in 2017-18 thanks to a $24 billion TV deal, James may opt for another short-term deal and seek a maximum contract next summer.James decision to go year to year has allowed him to maintain flexibility while keeping pressure on Cavs ownership to continue to add quality players. The Cavs, who won their first title -- and ended Clevelands 52-year championship drought -- by becoming the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the finals, have Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love under contract for three more seasons. Also, forward Tristan Thompson has four years remaining on his contract. Before a massive celebration parade last week, James told reporters hes coming back to try for a repeat title. Later, he told the crowd at a rally honoring the Cavs, Lets get ready for next year.Appearing in his sixth straight finals, James was a unanimous choice for MVP after leading the Cavs to three straight wins to stun the favored Golden State Warriors, who won a record 73 games during the regular season. The three-time champion averaged 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists in the series and posted a triple-double in Game 7. His biggest play came on defense when he chased down Warriors forward Andre Iguodala and blocked his shot in the final minutes of the last game.James is in his second stint with the Cavs after leaving as a free agent in 2010 for Miami.---This story has been corrected to show that James option would have paid him $24 million next season. Robinson finished with 17 points, all but two in the second half, and Lawson had 14 after halftime and finished with a game-high 11 assists as the Nuggets handed Dallas its first home loss in eight games this season. J.J. Hickson led Denver with 22, and Kenneth Faried added 10 points and 10 rebounds. . -- Mike Smith never saw his first NHL goal go in. RICHMOND, Ky. -- Maty Mauk understands that second-guessing might accompany his second chance at Eastern Kentucky. But following a tumultuous junior season at Missouri, the quarterback is looking forward to a fresh start with the Colonels. Mauk was suspended three times in four months before being dismissed in January by new Tigers coach Barry Odom after a video surfaced on Twitter showing someone snorting a powdery white substance.Mauk denied he was the person snorting the substance in the video, which he said was made a couple of years ago. But Mauk acknowledged making a bad choice by being present when the substance was being snorted and is working to show hes living a clean life and has learned from the incident.I put myself in a situation that night and kind of acted like I did it, Mauk said in an interview with The Associated Press. It was one of those situations I wish I couldve taken myself out of, but I had to learn from it and havent been around anything like that for years now.Mauk said the first suspension came while he was dealing with his father Mikes cancer surgery last fall. He acknowledged doing things that merited disciplinary actions and said other behavior snowballed into more suspensions. As much as Mauk hurt for his father, Mike Mauk said he ached even more not being able to be there for his son during his ordeals.Matys struggle was worse for me because hes my son and I know he wasnt the man he was portrayed to be, said the elder Mauk, who has recovered and looks forward to coaching high school football in Springfield, Missouri. But Mike Mauk also believes Maty will benefit from his setbacks. You go through things to find out who you are and where you look to for faith and guidance, Mike said. Those things determine your character.First-year EKU head coach Mark Elder had a previous relationship with Mauk. He recruited the Kenton, Ohio, native heavily as a University of Cincinnati assistant. The relationship Elder developed with Mauk during the recruiting process leads the coach to believe the QBs recent troubles werent indicative of the person he is and notes that high-profile college athletes -- and young adults, for that matter -- make mistakes.I feel more than confident that (with) the mistakes that Maty has made, he is moving forward, Elder said. Terry Rozier Jersey. Maty knows what my expectation levels are for him and what he needs to do.The coach anticipates Mauk, who went 17-5 as a starter in the Southeastern Conference and threw for 4,373 yards and 42 touchdowns from 2013-15, to compete for the starting QB position with incumbent Bennie Coney.Mauk isnt the first athlete to seek redemption at EKU.Noah Spence, a standout defensive end at Ohio State, transferred to EKU last year with a history of failed drug tests that led to his ban by the Big Ten Conference. Spence regrouped at EKU to become the Ohio Valley Conferences co-Defensive Player of the Year last season and a second-round NFL draft pick (39th overall) of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last spring.EKU athletic director Steve Lochmueller said the same support system that helped Spence thrive at EKU will also benefit Mauk.We believe in second chances under certain conditions, Lochmueller told the AP in a phone interview. We had a discussion and coach Elder and I decided that if Maty wanted to come here and resurrect his life and resurrect his career, then thats a good thing.Mauk knew he needed new surroundings after the upheaval for him and the Missouri program. His African-American teammates at Missouri threatened a boycott last November to protest the schools handling of racial and student welfare issues. Tigers coach Gary Pinkel stepped down soon after to battle cancer as well, and their 3-0 start dissolved into a 5-7 finish and no bowl game.Mauk explored other options after his dismissal before Elder reached out to him this spring with an opportunity he jumped on after graduating from Missouri. His late arrival in May has meant a crash course of learning the playbook and getting to know his teammates, but it all seems worth it as the QB tries to show the EKU community and others that this Mauk version is better and smarter -- on and off the field.I want them to see that Ive learned from my mistakes, Mauk said. Ive matured and Im a hard-working guy thats going to do whatever it takes to win a national championship here and land in the NFL. CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins will meet Thursday afternoon at Progressive Field in the final game of their four-game series. Terrell Edmunds Hoodie . Based on what has happened in the first three games, the fact that there is one more game left in the series is good news for Minnesota and bad news for Cleveland.Minnesota has reached double figures in runs in each of the first three games and put a frightful pounding on Clevelands vaunted starting rotation. In the first three games, Minnesota has outscored the Indians 35-16 and outhit Cleveland 48-27.Weve gotten it going offensively. Youve got to enjoy these things whenever they come along, Twins manager Paul Molitor said.Indians manager Terry Francona said, Theyve done it to us three days in a row. Theyve had their way with us and its not a fluke. Theyve beat us around. In the past three games, Indians starting pitchers Danny Salazar, Carlos Carrasco and Trevor Bauer combined for a 22.68 ERA, as they allowed 21 earned runs and 23 hits in 8 1/3 innings. As if getting blown out in three consecutive games wasnt bad enough, the Indians, if they dont turn it around soon, are in danger of falling out of first place in the American League Central for the first time in two months.Cleveland, which has been alone in first place since June 4, has lost seven of its last 11 games, and that has coincided with an eight-game winning streak by second-place Detroit. The Indians led the division by as many as 7 1/2 games on July 20, but their lead over the Tigers is now down to two games.Youve got to play through the tough times because they are inevitable. They happen to everyone, Francona said. But I confident well bounce back.To do so, the Indians will have to rely on rookie right-hander Mike Clevinger, who will be recalled from Triple-A Columbus and start Thursday. Clevinger is taking Danny Salazars spot in the rotation. Salazar was placed on the disabled list Tuesday with an inflammed right elbow.Clevinger was 11-1 with a 3.00 ERA at Columbus. He was up with the Indians earlier this season and appeared in four games, three of them starts. In those four appearances, he was 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA. He is considered one of the top pitching prospects in the organization, and the Indians could use a boost. Clevelands starting pitcher has lasted fewer than four innings in all three games of the Minnesota series. After Wednesdays game, the Indians optioned pitchers Shawn Armstrong and Cody Anderson to Columbus. They will recall two pitchers on Thursday, one of whom will be Clevinger. The Twins have quietly become one of the hotter teams in the American League. Theyve won four games in a row, six of their last seven games, and in their last 25 games they are 16-9.In Thursdays game, the Twins will start left-hander Hector Santiago, who will be making his Twins debut, after being acquired earlier in the week in a trade with the Angels. As a member of the Angels, Santiago faced Cleveland on June 10 and gave up six runs and seven hits in 1 1/3 innings. In 22 starts overall this year, Santiago is 10-4 with a 4.25 ERA. In seven career starts against the Indians, he is 2-2 with a 5.94 ERA. James Washington Hoodie . Match factsDecember 6, 2016 Start time 1420 local (0320 GMT)Big PictureNew Zealand must have left the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday night thinking, if only. Mexico Hirving Lozano World Cup Jersey . If only they had asked for a review when Steven Smith was given not-out by umpire Mick Martell after being trapped lbw on 14, the first ODI might have unfolded quite differently. Trent Boults fine delivery had swung in and trapped Smith in front, but New Zealand declined to refer Martells decision upstairs. There was plenty of chat afterwards about that, New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said. There were two sounds and the possibility of an inside edge. Were all well aware there wasnt. That was the thinking and you could understand it. It was a little bit frustrating. The reason it was frustrating was that Smith went on to accumulate 164 and set up a big win for Australia. The teams now move on to Canberra with Australia 1-0 up in the three-match series, so New Zealand must win at the Manuka Oval on Tuesday to have any hope of retaining the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy. The good news for New Zealand is that they had one batsman who looked every bit as dangerous as Smith at the SCG, but unfortunately for them, Martin Guptill couldnt go quite as deep into the innings as Smith, and fell for 114 off 102 balls. The toss may be particularly important in Canberra, where big runs are generally available, and the team batting first has won the six most recent ODIs.Form guideAustralia: WLLLL (last five completed matches, most recent first) New Zealand: LLWLWIn the spotlightA golden duck in Sydney was hardly the start Aaron Finch wanted in this series, but he will be pleased to arrive in Canberra for the second game. Take a look at Finchs scores in his three ODIs at the Manuka Oval: 38, 109 and 107. His last two hundreds at the venue have come against South Africa and India, and Finch could use a big score again: in 18 ODIs since the end of the previous home summer, Finch has averaged just 26.25.After New Zealand lost Guptill, their hopes of chasing down the hefty target in Sydney faded. But, while Colin Munro was at the crease, there remained at least a tiny glimmer of hope. Munro struck four fours and one six in his innings of 49, and put on 50 for the eighth wicket with Matt Henry. While they were together, the required run rate hovered around nine an over, but at least it didnt balloon too much further. But when they both holed out in one Pat Cummins over - the 44th of the innings - the dream was dashed. It was a different sort of knock than what Im used to playing, Munro said. Given that role to try and take things a bit deeper in the innings sort of suits my game. Hopefully, in the games to come, we can have a few extra batters around me at the end and have a bit of a hit.Team newsGlenn Maxwell and James Faulkner were the two members of Australias 13-man squad left out in Sydney, and the selectors may wish to retain the winning XI in an attempt to secure the series.Australia (possible) 1 David Warner, 2 Aaron Finch, 3, Steven Smith (capt), 4 George Bailey, 5 Mitchell Marsh, 6 Travis Head, 7 Matthew Wade (wk), 8 Mitchell Starc, 9 Adam Zampa, 10 Pat Cummins, 11 Josh Hazlewood.Lockie Ferguson picked up a wicket in his first international over, but the rest of his debut was rather costly: he leaked 73 runs from nine overs, sent down four no-balls and therefore four free hits, and also cramped up. Tim Southee might come in for Ferguson in Canberra. New Zealand may also wonder if their batting order could be strengthened by the inclusion of Henry Nicholls.New Zealand (possible) 1 Tom Latham, 2 Martin Guptill, 3 Kane Williamson (capt), 4 Jimmy Neesham, 5 Colin Munro, 6 BJ Watling (wk), 7 Mitchell Santner, 8 Colin de Grandhomme, 9 Matt Henry, 10 Tim Southee, 11 Trent Boult.Pitch and conditionsManuka Oval is the kind of venue where big totals are on offer batting first, and chasing can be a challenge. The forecast for Tuesday is for a shower or two and a top temperature of 28 degrees centigrade.Stats and triviaIn Sydney, Guptill became the tenth-fastest player to 5000 ODI runs, behind Hashim Amla, Viv Richards, Virat Kohli, Brian Lara, Gordon Greenidge, AB de Villiers, Sourav Ganguly, Dean Jones and Graeme Smith. This will be Kane Williamsons 100th one-day international.Adam Zampa enters this game as the worlds leading ODI wicket-taker in 2016, with 30 scalps at 27.80. His feat is all the more impressive given he didnt make his ODI debut until February in New Zealand.QuotesWe were a little bit frustrated with the fact we chased the game with the ball. We had some good plans in place and perhaps we need to back those a bit more. We werent far off. Mike Hesson, the New Zealand coach, after the loss in Sydney Mexico 2018 FIFA World Cup Jerseys . There should be very little sympathy for those railing against the downgrading of the Wood Memorial, Blue Grass, and Mother Goose on the list for 2017 released this week by the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. Youth Avonte Maddox Jersey . To take offense at such perceived slights is to admit that you take the list seriously in the first place. But people do, and to cop an attitude tends to bring civilized discussion to an abrupt halt. Unfortunately, the deeply flawed but thoroughly institutionalized system of grading races has become so badly misinterpreted and misused that to nitpick at this point about a trio of iconic events seems a sad waste of time. So, lets waste some time together. When pressed, proponents of the system describe it as the best bad solution to what is a necessary categorization of the races most American owners, breeders, trainers, and jockeys would prefer to win anyway, graded or not.A search of the TOBA website will take the enterprising reader to a page entitled Explanation of Grading System Workbook. I wont dwell on specifics other than to note once again that three-quarters of the data helping to determine the grading of races are derived from the performances of horses in races already graded by the American Graded Stakes Committee.Embarrassed by this admission of a closed informational loop, the website offers an apology, sort of:? the Committee recognizes that these measurements tend to support the self-perpetuation of graded events, an effect that can compromise the evaluation process while magnifying the consequences of all grading decisions. Ya think? The fourth leg of data is comprised of Timeform-style performance ratings (NARC Rates). Numbers gleaned from the Thoro-Graph handicapping figures also are considered. Again, the site feels compelled to equivocate:? the Committee recognizes that NARC Rates are wholly dependent on the fallible methods and art of a small group of racing professionals. In the end, the industry is given reassurance that the 11 members of the American Graded Stakes Committee are wise and just and true, and that the grading process must finally depend on the integrity, experience, and judgment of the Committee members themselves. So, there you go. Faulty data in, faulty data out, leaving it to the 11 people who this time around decided that the Mother Goose, Wood Memorial, and Blue Grass were no longer to be considered among Americas elite events. Eight votes are required to elevate a race in graded rank, while only six are necessary for demotion. Those currently on the committee include its chairman, Dr. J. David Richardson, a Louisville surgeon; Reynolds Bell Jr., of Reynolds Bell Thoroughbred Services in Lexington; Everett Dobson, part owner of the NBAs Oklahoma City Thunder; Barbara Banke, owner of Stonestreet Farm; Craig Bernick, president of Glen Hill Farm; J. Michael OFarrell, owner of Ocala Stud, and five racing department heads -- Martin Panza (NYRA), Tom Robbins (Del Mar), Rick Hammerle (Santa Anita), Georganne Hale (Maryland Jockey Club), and Ben Huffman (Churchill Downs).Any time spent in a room with these industry heavyweights would be a treat. Pity them for their task, however, as they wade through a mountain of dicey data whose only purpose seems to be self-justification. Integrity and wisdom go only so far in the face of such a daunting challenge. As a result ?Races are graded backward but penalize forward. The system trashes the histories of respected events while failing to take into consideration the modern shift in stakes-horse management. No fewer than 16 of the 107 Grade 1 ratings for 2017 are wasted on Triple Crown and Breeders Cup events, as if we need to be told. The graded race system meddles in the business of racetracks by imposing purse requirements, just as graded designations are put to all manner of uses for which they were not intended. The graded race system also has rewarded a racetrack for paying appearance fees to select owners and trainers above and beyond purse money. Hello, brand-new Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby, with your noncompetitive September date and your $50,000 bonuses to participating owners and trainers whose horses have won the Derby, Preakness, Belmont, Haskell, or Travers. It is no surprise that the Blue Grass and the Wood Memorial have had depth-of-quality issues in recent years. The maniacal rush to make the Kentucky Derby field has diluted all the major 3-year-old races of the late winter and early spring, now clustered in a window four, five, or six weeks in advance of the first Saturday in May.The fate of the Wood is a direct result of Gulfstreams intense competition for the best of the Eastern colts, and its earlier date puts bad Northeastern weather more often into play. As for the Blue Grass, Keeneland made its own bed by temporarily surrendering its marquee event to the Polytrack experiment. Recovery is still in progress. The American Graded Stakes Committee would like to believe that its ratings are without consequences, that they are merely a dispassionate recognition of the facts on the ground. In reality, its decisions reverberate throughout the game.In 2016, both the Wood and the Blue Grass were worth $1 million and presented on the same day. What would the committee have them do to improve their product and regain the Grade 1 status their history merits? More money? More incentives?Or perhaps move them to September. Youth Dallas Goedert Jersey . -- Bobby Ryan helped the U. BRASILIA, Brazil -- It wasnt politically correct. But the first words out of Hope Solos mouth after an Olympic quarterfinal against Sweden were undeniably honest and entirely sincere in summing up a days frustrations. The United States dominated possession. It nearly quintupled Swedens shots. It had the first chance and the last chance in open play. The three-time reigning Olympic champion and current World Cup champion is also going home without an Olympic medal of any kind for the first time, eliminated by Sweden 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the teams played to a 1-1 stalemate over 120 minutes of soccer.Cue the goalkeeper who is rarely unwilling to speak her mind, in this case about a team that set out to defend to the last woman.I thought that we played a courageous game, Solo said. I thought that we had many opportunities on goal. I think we showed a lot of heart. We came back from a goal down; Im very proud of this team. I also think we played a bunch of cowards. But, you know, the best team did not win today; I strongly, firmly believe that. I think you saw Americas heart. You saw us give everything that we had today.Unfortunately the better team didnt win.The better team, yes. Almost undeniably. But not the team that best executed its assignment on this day.Which perfectly encapsulates the frustration, if it doesnt excuse the sentiment more suited to a sport with judges. Pragmatism is style in soccer. The United States knew this was coming. Coach Jill Ellis, who rarely shows her hand in the days leading up to games, didnt even offer the pretense evasiveness the day before this one. She used to work for Pia Sundhage, the coach who went home to Sweden after taking the United States to two Olympic gold medals. She knew Sundhage would be pragmatic, especially when it came to the United States. Everyone knew. The United States began Fridays game with a scoreless drought of more than 200 minutes against Sweden, including a scoreless World Cup draw a year ago in Canada. U.S. wunderkind Mallory Pugh was barely in high school the last time the Americans scored against a Swedish team.Sweden is not a minnow in womens soccer, not with players like Lotta Schelin and Caroline Seger. But Sweden and its coach are also not novices ready to run pell-mell into the breach. Certainly not after they were exposed by Brazil earlier in this tournament in a 5-1 loss. They had to do what they had to do, said Carli Lloyd, more measured than her teammate. They had to sit back. They sat back as we expected them to do. They werent confident in their abilities to open up because they opened up against Brazil, and the score sheet was not so great. So yeah, they sat back, they waited for that one moment to counterattack. That moment came in the 61st minute, not as some lumbering stroke of luck, but as the product of some nice interplay around midfield, short passes that set up an open look at a long ball toward Stina Blackstenius. The Swedish player got inside U.S. defender Julie Johnston, gathered the ball and beat Solo with a quality shot to the far post.It was fortunate, but it wasnt lucky. No luckier than the long balls Leicester City sent to Jamie Vardy en route to a Premier League title last season. Soaking up possession and hitting back with a lightning bolt is all the rage. The thing is, while the Swedes were committed and organized in their defending to the end, they werent exactly stopping the Americans in their tracks. The United States didnt play poorly. It wasnt precise enough. It didnt finish well enough; at least one missed chance likely will haunt each of the attacking players who were on the field. Maybe Crystal Dunn could have come on sooner. Maybbe the gamble on Megan Rapinoe, a sub who had to be subbed when the game went to overtime, didnt work out. Youth Josh Sweat Jersey. But the United States moved the ball. It had ample opportunity to deliver crosses into the box, to let Pugh slip into space in the middle of the field and play in Morgan, to set up set pieces. It has played worse and won on many occasions.Inside 18 yards, when theres 20 people in the box, it is tough, Ellis said. I dont care what level you play. It is really hard for an organized attack to break down an organized defense. Its really, really hard. So we knew we had a massive challenge. But in terms of what we tried to do, and how we tried to play, I actually thought today [was as well as the team had played] -- especially the first half, for sure, and part of the second half. We tried to play. The U.S. equalizer came in the 77th minute, and more luck was involved in it than in the Swedish goal. Before Alex Morgan could slide home the goal with a composed finish, the ball first had to reach her by way of a ricochet off a Swedish players head after a Dunn header.Surely that was the breakthrough, as a late goal has so often been in major tournaments, and especially those since 2011. But as much as the U.S. women pressed in the final 13 minutes, Dunns presence adding a different energy to the attack, the only ball that found the back of the net was Lloyds header that was incorrectly negated for offside (as was a Schelin goal seconds later).I felt like we were going to score again and win within regular time, Morgan said. But the time just kept going on, and they kept defending well. It never went in the back of the net. I was really optimistic. I didnt even anticipate it going into penalties, either. But it just wasnt our day today.Unfortunately, that means it was the last day in a major tournament until the 2019 World Cup, qualification willing. In the end, the real frustration wasnt from what Sweden did, but what the United States couldnt do to finish what it started -- what it started Friday, and what it started with the World Cup title a year ago.Even just a few minutes more removed from the field, at the end of the questioning that began with her harshest words, Solo modified her stance ever so slightly when asked if it would be acceptable for some teams to play the way Sweden played.Youve got to take your hat off to them because they beat us, Solo said. So theyre going on, like I said, and were going home. They dont have as quality of players as the American team does or as Brazil does, so they have to play a way thats going to give them hope to beat a team like Brazil or the USA. And I think thats part of the tactical side of things. And Pia is somewhat of a tactician, so she dropped her team into a 50 and tried to hit long balls. They could only really score on the opportunity for a long ball or on set pieces. So I guess you can say its smart, but I dont think its respectful to the game. But no matter how strongly some feel otherwise, nowhere more than in the U.S., where the game is part athletics and part art, the game also is set up to produce an outcome.Solos words were a reflection of the frustration inherent in that. What they missed is that Sweden showed its heart, too, right down to Lisa Dahlkvists clincher in the shootout that beat Solo after the keeper delayed the proceedings to fix what she said was a faulty strap on her glove. It would be hard to eliminate the United States without courage. It might well have been a different outcome on another day. Maybe most days. Just not this day. When Dejan Udovicic was 26 years old and playing water polo in his native Belgrade, his longtime and highly respected coach, Nikola Stamenic, came up to him with a suggestion. Cheap Air Max 270 Flyknit Black . I think you can one day be a coach. Would you think about that? After 10 days of considering it, Udovicic told Stamenic that yes, he definitely was interested in coaching. Stamenic said good, and a few days later he began to go over some elements of water polo with him. Udovicic interrupted by saying it wasnt necessary to go into such particulars because he already knew them quite well. Which upset Stamenic. He said to me, You dont know anything! You are ZERO! You dont know ANYTHING! Udovicic recalls. The guy who had been teaching me for the last 15 years, who taught me everything I knew, is telling me I dont know anything about water polo. ... Before he was telling me I would be good, and now he is telling me that I dont know anything.Udovicic went away upset, sad, confused, ashamed and frustrated. And, as it turned out, driven. As critical as that comment from Stamenic was, Udovicic says, It is the greatest sentence someone said to me in my whole coaching career. From that moment I started to become a coach. I did everything. I started from zero. I did my homework from the beginning. Some coaches skip some parts. I did my homework. Step by step I became a coach. ...In that moment, I was lucky. And at some point in your life and some time in sport, you need to feel lucky.Udovicic, 46, made his way up the coaching ranks, working at many levels, helping his players get lucky and eventually becoming head coach of the Serbian national team in 2006. As a coach, he won European and world championships and bronze medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. In 2013, Udovicic left Serbia for another coaching challenge -- perhaps his biggest yet.He is now the head coach of the U.S. mens water polo team. Though the U.S. women won gold in 2012 (and also medaled at the three previous Games), the U.S. men have never won an Olympic championship in water polo (they won in 1904 when it was just a demonstration sport). Udovicic promises he will end that drought and also make water polo far bigger in the States.Im pleased that we have so much room to improve. And I think that we can, not just to improve, but we can also give something new to water polo, Udovicic says. We are trying. It still is not visible and may not be visible one year from now. But step by step we are building something huge.Vlade Divac, the former NBA All-Star and current general manager of the Sacramento Kings, is the president of the Olympic Committee of Serbia and knows Udovicic well. He likes the coachs chances of turning the U.S. into a contender.Knowing that they have probably the best infrastructure in terms of facilities and pools, I think definitely the USA could be a superpower, Divac says.Treading water in the U.S.Water polo is enormously popular in Serbia, as well as Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Italy and other countries in that region of Europe. Serbia and Hungary (which has won nine Olympic gold medals) even have national water polo days. But water polo definitely is not a sport followed by many people in the United States. Or ever watched at all, if it is even on TV for that matter. In the United States, says U.S. national team player Alex Roelse, football has its own day of the week. Were not going to get TV time if football or basketball is playing; if anything like that is playing, were out. Thats bad, but once youre over there in Europe, you go into a stadium and it will be packed. Youve got people going crazy. TV, media and all these fans, admiring their greatest stars. And theyre not football players, theyre not basketball players. Theyre water polo players. The biggest water polo match in the United States might be the annual NCAA championship, which drew just over 1,200 fans last year. It wasnt even mentioned on TV, Roelse says. Whereas in Eastern Europe, you get 18,000 people in the stadium.Water polo is a fun sport to watch, filled with exciting, constant action and superb athletes. Its kind of like LeBron James, Steph Curry and others playing hoops, only instead of dribbling and shooting on a hardcourt, they are in a swimming pool battling against the likes of Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and some other very athletic and fierce opponents.Imagine a defensive lineman that can swim at speed in the water and has skills in wrestling, U.S. player Josh Samuels says. Thats what were dealing with.So why dont more Americans watch it?I think its hard to follow. You never know what is a foul and what isnt, Divac says. When you know people and engage with that sport, you realize how difficult it is. Its a very difficult sport to play. If you dont do things the right way, youre going to drown. There are no shortcuts.(Divac was exaggerating about the drowning part, which was not an issue for him when he sometimes played water polo; he says he was tall enough that he could occasionally stand on the bottom of the pool.)Its a chess match in the water -- a chess match and a cage match all at once, Samuels says. My theory on why its hard for people to get involved is if you are watching a basketball game or a football game and the refs are blowing whistles or throwing a flag all the time, people get a little annoyed at the stoppage. Why am I hearing so many whistles? Why are they calling so many fouls? Water polo is governed by whistles. There are whistles and whistles, and people dont understand what the whistles mean. And were still playing. People get confused. So the rules to outsiders are a little confusing, but once you get to know the game, you love it.Udovicic has always loved the sport -- Water polo is my life, he says -- beginning when his father took him and his twin brother, Darko, to a pool when they were 7 years old. The sport was huge in the Balkans then and is huge there now. Udovicic wants to make it popular in America -- or at least significantly more popular than it is now. Winning a gold medal would help a bit, but he also would like to see the sport played more outside the amateur ranks.A U.S. semipro water polo league started in 2015 with teams playing a series of four weekend tournaments, mostly in California, where the sport is by far the strongest (every player on the 2016 team has attended or will attend a California university). When it might become a fully professional league is entirely up in the air, but Udovicic says he would like to help it grow so American players have more opportunities to play in the States after their college careers end.I dont want to see U.S. players going to Europe to play professionally instead of staying here and playing professionally, Udovicic says. We have good pools. We have good communities. We have everything we need. We dont need to be like the NBA, like Major League Baseball. We need to look at ourselves and, step by step, my idea is to establish some semi-professional leagues that play from March to the middle of July [so] that we have clubs and people who would be enjoying good water polo.A different style of water poloUdovicic was good enough at water polo that he started playing professionally when he was just 15 years old. He competed for Belgrades Partizan team -- Divac played for the Partizan basketball squad -- which would occasionally scrimmage against a crosstown rival at the 11 April sports club. Due to bombings in Belgrade late in the Balkan wars, the clubs pool was abandoned as a water polo venue. There were conflicts all around, Udovicic says. Filling and heating the pool was expensive. And what they told me is they found some problems under the bottom of the pool. They could not repair that, and they needed a lot of money. So they shut down the pool and took water out. And after few months someone came and said, OK, water polo and the swimmers cannot use this. So lets put the tennis players inside. That was good.It was very good. Tennis stars?Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic and Novak Djokovic?trained there. And perhaps an athlete who once played water polo?there can create yet another champion. Udovicic definitely wont be satisfied if he doesnt. Not surprisingly for a top player and coach, Udovicic has always been very competitive. When he was younger, he and Darko would play one-on-one basketball, and occasionally the sessions would have be to cut short when the two fought. Samuels says that he has been told that if Udovicic lost a game, he would get so upset he would lock himself in his room.During the game I dont recognize you, Udovicic says of playing against his brother or friends. You do not exist for me.Udovicic is the fourth U.S. coach in the past five Olympics, including Ratko Rudic, who also was from the former Yugoslavia (Croatia). Udovicic replaced Terry Schroeder, who coached the 2008 team that won silver in Beijing and the 2012 squad in London. Udovicic has been teaching the current team the European style of water polo, which differs from the American style. The [previous] team had been together for a long time and they were a little older players, so Terry was all tactics, Samuels says. For us, were working on a lot of individual skills. When Udovicic took over the U.S. team, he says he was instructed to not tell the athletes they needed to change because some people can respond poorly to that word. Instead, he needed to explain differences and teach them step by step. He says learning to do so made him a better coach. He built the Serbian team through the early stages, and that team he coached is now the best team in the world, Roelse says. He wants to establish the same idea here. Hes going to be working with us and wants us to be up there in the next few years. He wants to make sure this young team can carry on so we can be going for the next eight years.U.S. water polo captain Tony Azevedo, who was born in Brazil, is competing in his fifth Olympics. His father, Ricardo, is a former coach of the U.S. mens national team and is currently head coach for China. Despite that rich background in the sport, Tony Azevedo says Udovicic is the coach who really opened his eyes to water polo. For the most part when you get a great coach under you, you understand you have to work hard but pretty much understand where hes going, Azevedo says. Dejan is totally new. Hes so intelligent about the game of water polo.Apparently, his level of knowledge is not zero.Building around youthThere was some controversy in Serbia when Udovicic left to coach the U.S, but he says he didnt let it bother him. After all, Herb Brooks did not get much grief when he chose to coach the French hockey team in the 1998 Olympics after having helped America to perhaps its greatest international victory in sports with the Miracle on Ice at Lake Placid.I dont think Ill have any problems ever, because everybody knows me, Udovicic says. When I was in Serbia I gave 120 percent, and here Im doing the same. And the people respect this and they are pleased. The U.S. men may not be the favorites in Rio, but they have been making progress. They won gold in the Pan-Am Games last year. They won the FINA World League Intercontinental Tournament this spring, and in June they finished second in the FINA World League Super Final, losing to Serbia. With a veteran-laden squad, the U.S. team reached the quarterfinals at the 2012 Olympics before losing 8-2 to Croatia, the eventual gold medalist. While there are four Olympic vets on the 2016 team, the squad is much younger than it was in London. The 13-man Rio roster includes two teenagers, Thomas Dunstan and Ben Hallock, and only four players older than the 25-year-old Samuels.Theyre young, Udovicic says. Youve got Ben Hallock. He is 18, but he is the future. Bret Bonanni broke Tony Azevedos record at Stanford for scoring most goals. He was nominated to the top three players in world. He was born in 1994. I am very pleased. ...We are not at all behind Europeans in potential in young categories. We just need to be smart and to organize ourselves to give our players top competition. One advantage the European players have is experience. Udovicic estimates Europeans play twice as many quality games a year as Americans. Thats huge, he says.To help combat that, he has made sure the U.S. team has played the top European teams as much as possible, such as Serbia, which it hosted in four-game series in 2014 and 2015. The U.S. also takes longer international tours. This is all part of Udovicics plan to grow the team and the sport. With the core of young players, he is looking to the future. What I like in this team is they are fully focused, Udovicic says. They are becoming united because they come from Stanford and Cal, UCLA, USC. Now they need to feel that theyre defending something great, something good.Im spreading the virus, the winning virus inside of the team. The U.S. got off to a slow start in Rio, losing its first two games in the preliminary round before notching a 6-3 win over France on Wednesday. If they do not reach Udovicics expectations this year, perhaps this growing team can do so in Tokyo.I am guaranteeing it, Udovicic says. Gold medal in 2020. Cheap Air Max 270 Dusty Cactus For Sale . Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence had his appeal denied and has been suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy. Dalton Schultz Hoodie .Lawrence, who led the team with eight sacks last season, is being disciplined for using?amphetamines, sources told ESPN in April. This is the second consecutive year?the Cowboys will start the season without at least two key defensive players. Second-year defensive end Randy Gregory will miss the first four games of the season for violating the leagues substance abuse policy, and as also reported Thursday, middle linebacker Rolando McClain?was suspended the first 10 games for violating the substance abuse policy.McClain (substance abuse) and defensive end Greg Hardy (personal conduct) were both suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season.Lawrence will be eligible to return to the roster on Oct. 3, and is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.?Lawrence, who had offseason back surgery, played the best football of his career in the second half of last season. The coaches credited him with 56 tackles, 31 quarterback pressures and 10 tackles for loss as he became a disruptive force. In 2014, the Cowboys moved up to the 34th overall pick in a trade with the?Washington Redskins?to take Lawrence. He did not have a sack as a rookie in the regular?season, missing the first eight games of the season with a broken foot.ESPNs Todd Archer contributed to this report. Bo Scarbrough Hoodie . Newcastle dominated in the early stages but City weathered the storm and then raised its game in extra time. Negredo broke the deadlock from close range after a simple move in the 99th minute before Dzeko took the ball round goalkeeper Tim Krul to seal the victory in the 105th. Connor Williams Hoodie . Darren Helm scored on Detroits sixth attempt in the shootout and then Jonas Gustavsson stopped Andrew Shaws shot, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. . Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC failed to make the postseason while Montreal Impact fell at the first hurdle losing heavily to Houston Dynamo in the Eastern Conference Knockout Round. Thursday night, North American second-place seed Counter Logic Gaming needed one win in its final game of the group stages to make the quarterfinals. But it lost to the group favorite, ROX Tigers, and was eliminated from the tournament.Saturday afternoon, another North American team faced a do-or-die match in the group stages. This time, it was the regions champion, Team SoloMid, who only dropped a single best-of series the entire summer split. In an elimination match with Chinas Royal Never Give Up, TSM also failed to advance into the bracket stage, giving up three early kills and never regaining control. On Sunday, in another win-or-go-home matchup against a Chinese foe, the North American club prevailed.Cloud9 bested Chinas third-place seed I May to keep its quarterfinal hopes alive. Defending champion SK Telecom T1 sent the boys in blue a ticket to Chicago by eliminating Taiwans champion Flash Wolves in the last group stage match of the tournament. After qualifying for the playoffs and being drawn into a Thursday matchup with Group of Death winner Samsung Galaxy, ESPN sat down with C9s William Meteos Hartman to talk about the World Championships. My general thoughts on the group stage are kind of that we didnt deserve to get out of groups just on how we played, Meteos admitted. Compared to how we played in the [summer domestic] season, I thought our level of play was really bad. A lot of that can maybe just be contributed to harder competition because [during] our bootcamp, we sort of changed how we played quite a bit. I dont think it was even for the better - a lot of weird things would go wrong in our games, so we would try to change our strategies, and we lost sight of the basics, I feel.I was disappointed on how we played, he continued. I feel like we played just good enough to make it into the bracket stage, kind of lucky. All we need to do is keep looking forward and try to work on everything. All three North American teams went 3-3 in the group stages, but only C9 were lucky enough to get out. A loss or win in one of the other matches could have left C9 with the rest of the North American teams watching the bracket stage from home.Korea still seems pretty dominant, he said. I dont know if its super one-sided because especially in scrims and stuff, it doesnt really feel like we [cant win], and it seems like a lot of teams do have similar goals for what theyre trying to do.I do feel like almost every team went through what we did, he continued. Where our overall level of play decreased going into Worlds, somehhow. Cheap Cowboys Hoodies. I dont know what it was about the practice leading up to it, but it doesnt feel like every team is playing as well as they could. The ROX Tigers, the odds-on favorite to win, dropped two games -- including a game to a Wild Card team -- in the group stage. Undefeated domestic winner Edward Gaming from China needed to make a gigantic comeback in its last game of the group stage to advance as a second-place team. The first time we played SKT, we kind of just bent over, he said.Meteos would later admit the teams lack of knowledge of how well Syndra fit into the meta destroyed them in the first game, and C9s lack of snowballing correctly from an early lead in a winnable Game 2 came back to bite them.TSM probably deserves to be here more than we do, just on how the group stage went, he said. Our wins were in the right places, and Flash Wolves lost to I May twice in games where they probably should have won. They lost to I May when [I May] used their their jungler as a support and mid as jungler. So thats kind of like, What the hell? But I guess the stars aligned for us, and I think we agree as a team we s--- the bed this group stage. And were just going to try to use the motivation of being the only NA team here.Meteos then went on to mention how he felt betrayed by the scheduling, with C9 playing the last games of the group stages on Sunday and then suddenly playing the first best-of-five quarterfinals across the country on Thursday against Samsung Galaxy. After some much needed rest and a long flight, the team will only have two and a half days to prepare for the biggest match of their careers in an attempt to become the first North American team since 2011 to make a Worlds semifinal. But this might be the fire we need - Hey guys, were in a real s--- situation, and we need to come together, he added.I think Samsung is pretty solid, Meteos said. We scrimmed against them quite a bit leading up to the second week of group stages, so I think we have a lot of experience playing against them. I think Crown is an extremely good mid laner, especially on Ryze and Viktor, two of the hot picks right now. Ambition kind of plays similarly to me; hes probably one of the more farm-oriented junglers here at Worlds. He plays Zac, too.Well do our best, he said. The group stage was tough, and we have a lot of stuff to work on, but, hopefully, we can bring it together and give a good performance. PHOENIX -- Talk of Rich Hills blister has been quieted by the left-handers blistering pace since taking the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers, at least mostly. Wholesale Buffalo Bills Jerseys .Hill will look to extend his 19-inning scoreless streak Thursday night when the Dodgers travel to Phoenix to face the Arizona Diamondbacks.Hill (3-0, 0.00 ERA) threw seven perfect innings against the Miami Marlins in his last start but was pulled by Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts for several reasons, including a familiar issue on Hills pitching hand. There was heat on his index finger, Roberts said. It was starting to get tender.Hill, who said his finger was fine, was less than happy to come out of the game but understood where the outing figured into the Dodgers pennant hopes.Dave was in a very difficult position, said Hill, who will be making his fourth start. You look at it, and you move on. Thats all you can do.Hill has won his past nine decisions between Los Angeles and Oakland. The Dodgers position has continued to improve over the past week-plus. With Los Angeles 2-0 rain-soaked victory at Yankee Stadium, the Dodgers have won eight of their past ten and are five games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West.Los Angeles posted its major league-leading 15th shutout of the season on Wednesday.Hill will be opposed by Diamondbacks right-hander Archie Bradley (6-9, 5.10), who lasted just three innings in his past start, allowing five runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.Bradley has had success in the past against Los Angeles, posting a 3.06 ERA in three prior starts against the Dodgers.Arizona manager Chip Hale had to dig a little deeper into his bullpen than anticipated in Wednesday nights 11-6 against the Colorado Rockies.Right-hander Rubby De La Rosa was on a rough 60-pitch count which the Diamondbacks optimistically hoped would carry him through at least four innings. Instead, he needed 40 pitches to get through the first, walking two and giving up a home run along the way and earning a visit to the mound from Hale.De La Rosa came back to start the second and promptly hit Daniel Descalso with a pitch and Hale went to swingman Randall Delgado three outs into the game to finish the second before shifting to scheduled piggyback reliever Braden Shipley in the third. Its just hard because that order is so good at scoring runs, Hale said. They were on him pretty well at the end.Hale used seven pitchers but, after Shipley left, none of the final four through more than 17 pitches.Offensively, the Diamondbacks continued rolling against the Rockies.Jean Segura has posted consecutive two-homer games and finished Wednesdays win with five hits in six at-bats. He has four home runs in his past two games and continued his march toward 200 hits, from which hes now 18 away.Brandon Drury became the first Diamondbacks rookie to homer in three straight games and has driven in a run in six straight contests. Light-hitting shortstop Chris Owings also homered on Wednesday for an offense that scored a franchise-record 34 runs in three games against Colorado on a franchise-record tying 50 hits. The Dodgers have won 10 of the first 15 meetings between the teams, though the clubs have split the six prior games at Chase Field. SYDNEY -- Royal Sydney was there for the taking on Thursday morning, yet star international attraction Jordan Spieth was more than content with his three-under round and place in the Australian Open field.Sunny skies and next to no wind made for a perfect scoring environment early on at Royal Sydney -- located just five minutes drive from the famed Bondi Beach -- with Australian amateur Curtis Luck taking advantage of the benign conditions to grab a share of the lead at five-under after the morning wave.Playing his first competitive round at Royal Sydney after winning at The Australian in 2014 and finishing runner-up to Matt Jones at The Lakes last year, Spieth struggled off the tee at times but also showed touches of the class that has taken him to two major triumphs and a stretch as world No. 1.After putting in the deep greenside bunker on the par-three 17th, Spieth dug himself out of trouble in sensational style by stiffing it to a foot to save par, a feat he repeated on 18, before he began the front nine with back-to-back birdies.A birdie on the par-five seventh following a superb second shot saw him momentarily grab a share of the lead, but the good work was undone a hole later when he duffed a flop shot having driven through the green, which resulted in a bogey.Still, the American was more than content with his efforts on day one and predicted conditions to toughen into Friday and across the weekend.I think if I can shoot three-under each day, given the course is going to play harder the next three, shoot three-under each day, then Ill be in good shape, Spieth said.I would certainly like to have gotten off and made a few more putts, but at the same time I was in trouble off the tee a few times and salvaged par. Spieths next assignment will be to negotiate a sticky afternoon tee time on Friday with the temperature in Sydney set to climb to 30 degrees Celsius. The hot conditions are unlikely to serve as a deterrent to the crowds, with Spieths gallery growing throughout the opening round -- culminating on the ninth green where there was next to no viewing spots when the American finished up.Kids were out on course early to watch Spieth in action, some making their way to lessons after just a few holes while others took the opportunity to watch the world No.5 cut his way through all 18.Those a little older would have enjoyed the performance of young Aussie amateur Luck who took the marquee pairing in his stride -- Geoff Ogilvy rounding out the trio -- the 20-year-old west Australian earning high praise from former Masters champion Spieth.Really, really impressive player, Curtis, real simple golf swing, Spieth said of Luck.Just kind of understands where hes at and how to play different shots, and then around the greens he was spectacular, which is something you certainly need to take with you up to the next level. So hes certainly got all the tools. He could have shot even par for the day, instead he turned that into five-under in the middle of the roundSo thats the kind of stuff that is unteachable, and he has that.Spieth, too, has proven he has those unteachable qualities and armed with a few local lessons from Thursday, its little wonder he was happy with his opening-round return. NEW YORK -- About to contest her third Grand Slam final of the year, Angelique Kerber couldnt help but hear the part of player introductions when she was announced to the crowd as soon-to-be No. Authentic Cowboys Hoodies . 1 in the rankings. It still sounds a little bit crazy, Kerber said a few hours later, the U.S. Open trophy by her side.Yet its also starting to feel real, she added. And deserved.Especially after Kerber rallied from down a break in the third set Saturday to edge Karolina Pliskova and clinch her second major title of 2016.The Australian Open back in January was where Kerber not only made her first Grand Slam final but won her first championship. But this U.S. Open may prove to be where the 28-year-old Kerber started to find herself comfortable with all those accolades. That it would happen at Flushing Meadows is fitting. Shell always remember the 2011 U.S. Open as the turnaround of her career. She came into the tournament ranked 92nd, never having advanced past the third around at a major. That season, Kerber had lost her opening match at five straight events during one stretch and 10 times overall -- including the years first three Grand Slams.I was just telling myself, `OK, just win a few rounds, and then you can get main draw in Australia, she recalled.Instead, she reached the semifinals, where she fell in three sets to eventual champion Sam Stosur. Kerber embraced the big stadiums, the boisterous crowds, the notion she belonged on those stages. It started growing, she said, a smile spreading across her face, and now I am here as the champion. Not that everything went smoothly those five years in between. Kerber made another semifinal at Wimbledon the following summer then didnt get back that far at a Grand Slam until this years Australian Open. And that run in Melbourne almost never happened. Kerber was on the verge of being swept out of the tournament in straight sets in the first round against 64th-ranked Misaki Doi.Kerber still remembers how she saved the match point -- with a serve out wide that forced Doi to miss a forehand. After that, everything starts this year, Kerber said. That was a really special match. She went on to stun Serena Williams in the final, though that achievement wasnt easy to handle at first. In her next major, Kerber lost in the first round to 58th-ranked Kiki Bertens at the French Open.I had so much pressure on my shoulders, Kerber said. I told myself, `OK, I will try to enjoy it now. And not going out there with the pressure, with the expectations that everybody say, `OK, now you have to win every tournament. She made another final at Wimbledon, playing well but losing the rematch with Williams because, as Kerber put it, Serena was the better player on this day.She lost the Olympic gold-medal match to 34th-ranked Monica Puig then fell to Pliskova in the Cincinnati final when a victory would have clinched the No. 1 ranking.Kerber spent two weeks at Flushing Meadows listening to -- and trying to block out -- questions about another opportunity to overtake Williams for the top spot.In the end, when Pliskova upset Williams in the semifinals, Kerber was guaranteed to be No. 1 when the next rankings come out Monday. She felt a sense of calm going into Saturdays title match unlike her experiences at the Australian Open or Wimbledon. She explained that her confidence came from knowing exactly what will happen after the final, win or lose, so she could just go out there and play.Afterward, Kerber thought back to her greatest weakness when she was a teenager aspiring to Grand Slam titles and No. 1 rankings: My fitness was the worst, she said, laughing. She faded in three-set matches. Wilted in the heat. Moved sluggishly around the court. No one watching her Saturday could have ever imagined that. There was Kerber running down every shot, looking fresh in a decisive set played in stifling humidity.Ten years later, Kerber said, my fitness is the best, and I can move forever on court. Cowboys Hoodies Shop . The FA rejected Wilsheres appeal that the length of his punishment was "clearly excessive" and said Thursday his suspension begins with immediate effect. He will miss league matches against Chelsea on Monday and West Ham on Dec. Mike White Hoodie . Following a lopsided 5-2 loss against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night, Paul MacLean told reporters that "theres a lack of focus, theres a lack of leadership and theres a lack of preparation" with his struggling team. That came on the heels of Bryan Murray taking the unusual step of going into the locker room at the Prudential Center and addressing the players himself. . -- Al Jefferson found a groove just in time for the Charlotte Bobcats. CINCINNATI -- When the Bengals need a big play, they crumble.Thats been their offenses theme all season, and its left them in tenuous position for a sixth straight playoff berth. The fourth quarter has been their undoing. The Bengals (3-5-1) had another late meltdown on Monday night, falling to the New York Giants 21-20 .They entered the fourth quarter with a lead and wasted chances to put the game away, something thats happened repeatedly during their season.Youve got to be at your best in the fourth quarter, and we havent put it together, Andy Dalton said on Wednesday. Weve been close. Its been the most puzzling part of an offense that piles up the yards but not the points, especially when it matters most.Dalton ranks 21st in fourth-quarter passer rating at 85.2. Hes thrown only three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, all of them when the opponents went soft on defense while finishing off a game with a lead. One came in Pittsburgh, the other two in Dallas.Cincinnati has scored 40 points in the fourth quarter -- its fewest in any quarter -- and has been held to three points or fewer in six of its nine games.Against the Giants, the Bengals had the ball five times after pulling ahead 20-14 midway through the third quarter and managed only 47 yards and three first downs -- one by penalty -- the rest of the way.The reality is weve been in games at the end and just havent been able to find plays, left tackle Andrew Whitworth said.I think it can go one of two ways: You start to develop into a team that doesnt seem to find an answer, or you can turn it around and make it swing in the other direction.Theres not much time left to get it figured out. The defending AFC North champions trail Baltimore (5-4) and Pittsburgh (4-5) heading into the final stretch of the season.Theyvee got two games with Baltimore and they host the Steelers, so theres still a chance to catch up, but only if they figure out how to do a better job of protecting Dalton. Cheap Cowboys Hoodies Store. He was sacked twice on the final series, when the Bengals line got overwhelmed . Dalton has been sacked 28 times, third-most in the NFL behind Indianapolis and Cleveland quarterbacks. The Bengals are on pace to allow 50 sacks for only the seventh time in franchise history. The Bengals are one of the healthiest teams in the league, so thats not been a factor in the diminished pass protection. Its hard to say whats the big difference for this team, Dalton said. The core is together. On Sunday, they host Buffalo (4-5), which leads the league with 30 sacks. A veteran line knows that it has to do better at giving Dalton time against the Bills .As youve been in this league longer, I think more of our guys are going to find that out that (opponents) start to figure you out, how you block and how you do things, and youd better have an answer for it, Whitworth said.Game notes Dalton was limited in practice on Wednesday with a sore throwing shoulder, but is expected to play against the Bills. The Bengals held a light workout coming off the Monday night game. ... G Clint Boling (shoulder), TE Tyler Eifert (knee) and WR Bandon LaFell (knee) also were limited in the offenses workouts. LB Rey Maualuga, who was inactive against the Giants because of an injured fibula, practiced on a limited basis. ... DE Wallace Gilberry had a sore calf and didnt fully practice following his first game since re-signing with Cincinnati.---AP NFL website: and Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys NFL Jerseys From China NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Jerseys Cheap China Jerseys Wholesale Cheap NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

Shaun Murphy claims Ronnie OSullivan has nothing worthwhile to say about the way snooker should be run.The 2005 world champion had his say in the wake of the sports business supremo Barry Hearn arguing OSullivan should know better after likening the sport to a car boot sale.Hearn also rebuked the five-time world champion for suggesting the sport had lost respect in the public eye. When asked if the snooker authorities should be listening to OSullivans state-of-the-game verdicts, Murphy said: Absolutely not, no.Ronnies a genius and if he talks about snooker and how to play snooker, thats great, and I listen when he talks about snooker. When he talks about how snooker should be run, you should completely turn off, and he should stick to playing snooker.Murphy and OSullivan could meet in the final of the Betway UK Championship in York on Sunday, with both having reached the fourth round. A 6-5 win for Murphy over Dominic Dale was a nervy affair on Tuesday. The controversial remarks made by OSullivan on Monday remained a hot topic, and World Snooker chairman Hearn told the 40-year-old to focus on entertaining crowds, rather than aiming barbs that could offend snookers valuable stakeholders.OSullivan had said on Monday: Snookeer is becoming a nothing-type sport - its kind of like a car boot sale but with the other sports its like shopping at Harrods.
