MADISON, Wis. Seattle Seahawks Rasheem Green Jersey . -- University of Wisconsin-Madison officials have revoked season tickets for two football fans who wore a costume that involved one wearing masks of President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton with a noose around their necks. The other wore a Donald Trump mask and led the first man around by the noose. The unidentified men wore the costume at the Oct. 29 game against Nebraska. The Wisconsin State Journal reported ( ) that Chancellor Rebecca Blank told the faculty senate Monday the tickets were revoked because their holder brought in a prohibited item and didnt follow directions from stadium staff.Security officers asked the men to remove the noose but photos taken later showed they had put the noose back on. UW-Madison officials have taken criticism for not kicking the men out.---Information from: Wisconsin State Journal, Seattle Seahawks Jamarco Jones Jersey . The defence is doing its part, too. Drew Brees threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half and the guys on the other side made sure that was enough, sending the Saints to a 17-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. . Collaros, 25, was solid last season, posting a 5-2 record as the starter while incumbent Ricky Ray was injured. Collaros also started Torontos 23-20 regular-season finale loss to Montreal — Ray didnt dress because the Argos had already clinched first in the East Division — but was one of three quarterbacks to play that day. SUNRISE, Fla. -- Tuukka Rask is certainly a welcome sight in net for the Boston Bruins.Rask stopped 33 shots to help lead the Bruins to a 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Rask made his second start after missing three games with an injury and has been in goal for all five of the Bruins wins this season.Ive felt good all along, Rask said. Probably just because of the chances we gave up (on penalties), I had to make more saves, but I felt good all along.Brad Marchand and Dominic Moore scored to lead the Bruins to their second straight after a three-game skid.He looked good tonight and the main reason were standing here with two points, Bruins coach Claude Julien said of Rask.Denis Malgin scored for the Panthers and Roberto Luongo had 24 saves in Floridas fourth loss in five games.Trailing 2-0, the Panthers got on the scoreboard on Malgins first NHL goal with 4:35 left in the third when his shot from the slot beat Rask. It snapped the Bruins goalies shutout streak of 131:11.I had many chances and I didnt score, Malgin said. Now, I finally scored. Its nice, but we lost and thats bad.The Panthers pulled their goalie with 3:20 left during a power play to give them a 6-on-4 advantage but couldnt score. We had a lot of chances in that first period and couldnt capitalize and Tuukka Rask was the difference, Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said. He played a great game.Marchand gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with his goal on the penalty shot 3:53 in. Reilly Smith was called for hooking Marchand from behind. Marchand then skated in on Luongo and put the puck over his glove for his 300th NHL point. Marchand is now 4 for 5 on penalty shots in his career. The Bruins were outshot 13-33 in the first period. Seattle Seahawks Jerseys For Sale. We had so many turnovers, it was a real bad start, it was a bad period, Julien said. Those are the kind of starts we are trying to avoid. We had a goaltender that was ready to play and kept us in there. The Bruins made it 2-0 on a short-handed goal by Moore at 6:16 of the second. Moores angle shot from below the left circle rolled in and out of the net so quickly that the goal light didnt go off and play continued, but an officials review a few seconds later determined the puck had crossed the goal line before it came out.Sometimes you can surprise a goalie from those kinds of angles and you try to release it quick and you never know, Moore said. It was just fortunate that it found its way.The Panthers were on the power play seven times but couldnt score as they managed only six shots, and gave up the short-handed goal to Moore in the second. That hurt, Gallant said. They scored a short-handed goal also. It definitely hurt. We got outworked on our power play and that was the bottom line.Game notes Florida RW Jaromir Jagr played in his 1,639th NHL game, tying him with Dave Andreychuk for sixth on the all-time list. ... SAINTE-MARIE-DU-MONT, France -- Minutes after pulling on the yellow jersey for the first time in his award-filled career, Mark Cavendish walked over to the Utah Beach Peace Monument and placed a white rose to commemorate the Allied landings in Normandy that took place there more than 70 years ago. Cheap Giants T-shirts .It was a memorable moment that crowned a day full of emotions for the British cyclist, who won a sprint at the end of the crash-affected opening stage of the Tour de France and took the overall lead on Saturday. It was Cavendishs 27th stage win in the French classic -- third on the all-time list behind Eddy Merckx (34) and Bernard Hinault (28) -- but he had never won the opening leg, which is often a time trial.Cavendish has already worn the leaders jerseys at the Giro dItalia and the Spanish Vuelta. Its going be a special day tomorrow to ride a stage in yellow, Cavendish said. There was no better place to achieve this than Utah Beach where soldiers died for us.Its an incredible opportunity to remember and respect not just those that fought and died on D-Day but fought and died across all the wars and brought freedom to the Western world, he added. After the stage, Cavendish joined a specially invited group of American, Canadian, French, Belgian and German riders for a ceremony at the Peace Monument.German rival Marcel Kittel and Slovakian Peter Sagan finished second and third, respectively, in the 188-kilometer (117-mile) picturesque stage, which began at Mont-Saint-Michel, a World Heritage Benedictine abbey perched on a rock off the Normandy coast. Two years ago, Cavendish was the overwhelming favorite to win the opening stage and take yellow when the Tour opened on his home roads in England. But he crashed during the sprint, separated his right shoulder, and had to withdraw from the race.Once dominant, Cavendish has also struggled to keep up with rivals like Kittel and Andre Greipel in recent years. The 31-year-old joined South African team Dimension Data for this season after shoulder surgery in September.Ever since 2008 its been the end of me. I guess thats just how it is -- something to talk about, Cavendish said. I would stay home if I didnt think I could win.Cavendish was behind Sagan and Kittel entering the final 150 meters, but Kittel went around Sagan on the left and Cavendish slipped by on the right and easily surged in front.Pushed by a strong tail wind of up to 70 kph (43 mph), the leaders required slightly more than four hours to reach the finish.Two-time Tour winner Alberto Contador crashed midway through the stage and several riders were involved in an ugly high-speed crash on the final straight.Contador hit a traffic curb while coming around a right turn. The Spaniard came away with some serious abrasions and had his jersey ripped on his back and right shoulder, but he was quickly helped back to the peloton by his Tinkoff teammates.Im bruised all down along my right side from my ankle up but at least I dont have to go home, Contador said. Hopefully I can get through the coming days and recover before the mountains.Defending champion Chris Froome and the other overall favorites finished safely in the main pack.In the overall standings, Cavendish leads Kittel by four seconds with Sagan six seconds behind, courtesy of time bonuses.Cavendish has won virtually everything there is to win for a sprinter in cycling, including gold medals at both the road world championships and the track worlds.Cav, as he is known, will be aiming to tick off one final box when he aims for gold on the track at the upcoming Rio de Janeiro Olympics. The opening-day route also passed through Sainte-Mere-Eglise, where American paratrooper John Steele dangled from a clock tower after his parachute got caught during the invasion, and survived. The town is now home to the Airborne Museum. The stage included two mild Category 4 climbs in the opening 40 kilometers (25 miles), but was otherwise a mostly flat and rolling route along the English Channel coast. The Tour remains in Normandy for Stage 2 on Sunday, a slightly more challenging 183-kilometer (114-mile) leg from Saint-Lo to Cherbourg-En-Cotentin---AP Sports Writer Samuel Petrequin contributed to this report.---Andrew Dampf on Twitter: Discount Cheap Giants Hoodies .ca. However, despite admitting his sides determination to beat Blackburn, Vokes was keen to stress Burnley would not let the hostility associated with a derby distract from the clubs promotion hopes. This derby feels significant, it always does, you can feel the build-up around the training ground in the week leading to the derby, he told the FL72 Podcast. But there are a load of big games coming up for us in the Championship race so, at the minute, were focusing on it as another big game in a good season. FL72 Podcast - Sam Vokes, Liam Rosenior and Conor Coady Blackburn played an extra game this week, which was a tough one against Middlesbrough, but Im sure theyll be as up for this game as we are. Theyll be ready for the game on Saturday just as much as we will be.Every derby I have been involved in has been a big occasion and this one on Saturday is another massive one. We got the result at Ewood Park earlier in the year and that was a big result for the fans and the team at the time, well be looking to replicate that.It would be massive to get on win. Since I have been at Burnley we have been on a run of draws at home against Blackburn so it would be fantastic to win. Burnley claimed a 1-0 victory over Blackburn at Ewood Park in the sides last outing You could see what it meant to the fans when we won away twice, so to do that at home would be a great feeling. Paulo Dybala France Jersey. A serious knee injury ruled Vokes out of Burnleys run-in to promotion in 2014, with the striker subsequently missing a large chunk of the Clarets top-flight campaign in 2014/15.And the 26-year-old is keen to play a greater role in the clubs promotion bid this time around, adding: The last time we got promoted it was a great season, it was great to be involved in. This derby feels significant. It would be massive to win. We got the result at Ewood Park earlier in the year and that was a big result for the fans and the team at the time, we’ll be looking to replicate that. Burnley striker Sam Vokes I picked up the injury towards the end of that season and missed most of the year in the Premier League so it would be fantastic to repeat that and get back there. There is a long way to go before that though, so we are just concentrating on getting there. There is a completely different expectation on our shoulders this season compared to last time because we were the surprise package that year and no one really expected us to stay up there and we did all season. It was a great achievement in that way but this year people look at us in a different light. Coming to Turf Moor, were more of a scalp than we were that year as people have seen we were a Premier League club last year, so the games are obviously bigger. It was tough at the start of this season to deal with that but, as the season has gone, we have started to show what we are all about.Watch Burnley v Blackburn live on Saturday, 12.30pm, Sky Sports 1 & 5 HD Also See: FL72 Podcast Championship video Fixtures Table NFL Jerseys Cheap Stitched Jerseys Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Wholesale Throwback Jerseys Discount Jerseys Cheap Jerseys 2019 China NFL Hoodies ' ' '

Captain Charlotte Edwards struck 60 off 50 balls as England Women launched their World Twenty20 campaign in style with a 36-run mauling of Bangladesh, in Bangalore. Air Max 95 Og . Edwards struck seven fours in her 11th fifty in T20 internationals - her first half-century in the format in 11 innings, since the unbeaten 75 made against South Africa at Northampton in September 2014.After England posted 153-7 Bangladesh fell well short despite posting their highest ever T20 score of 117-6 thanks to a new record fifth-wicket partnership of 64 between Salma Khatun and Nigar Sultana (35) - a stand broken by a neatly-executed Sarah Taylor stumping, made standing up to Anya Shrubsole (2-27).England went on the offensive after winning the toss; Tammy Beaumont (18 off 14) put on 34 in 4.1 overs with Edwards - lofting Salma for a glorious six over long on - before being bowled on the charge, looking to hit Jahanara Alam (3-32) across the line.Sarah Taylor (nine) struggled to find fluency despite an early scoop for two and was stumped by Sultana off Fahima Khatun as she attempted to force the pace. Two balls later Heather Knight drove a low catch back to Khadija Tul Kubra but from 71-3 Edwards pressed on to reach her fifty off 41 balls. The captain enjoyed a reprieve three runs later when the capped Salma shelled a routine caught and bowled chance and had another escape on 57 when Jahanara couldnt quite get across at extra cover.Nat Sciver (27 off 22), herself dropped at midwicket by Rumana off Salma on 26, couldnt make the most of the reprieve and picked out long on as she sought to go over the top.Danni Wyatt and Katherine Brunt kept up Scivers momentum after Edwards walked past a Rumana Ahmed delivery before falling to successive Jahanara deliveries at the end of the innings.Bangladesh, who had never scored more than 115 in a Twenty20, struggled from the first over of their chase - a wicket maiden in which Brunt (1-17) bowled Sharmin Akhter leg stump.Anya Shrubsole, currently No 1 in the T20 rankings, should also have struck in her opening over but Wyatt shelled a straightforward chance offered by Fargana Hoque before shed scored. The seamer swiftly made amends, forcing Ayasha Rahman to drive to Edwards at mid-off and 14-2 became 38-3 when Danielle Hazell (1-20), second to Shrubsole in the world standings, removed Fargana Hoque (19).Edwards impressive all-round display was capped when she slid, gathered and shied with success to run Rumana (19) out with a direct hit.England captain Charlotte Edwards: Its always nice to start with runs but the win is the most important thing. We got a good total and even though there is a bit we can do with our bowling and fielding it was a good all-round performance and run out. I will be talking about my run out and catch for some time!England coach Mark Robinson: I thought we were a bit safe on a really good wicket and lost our way and our intent in the middle overs - we dont want to be like that. We were also a bit lazy with our decision-making with the ball but maybe its good to leave a bit in the tank.Watch highlights of England Womens victory over Bangladesh Women at 6pm on Sky Sports 2. On Friday afternoon, Keala Kennelly watched on the tiny screen of a borrowed cellphone as her friend and competitor Paige Alms won the Peahi Womens Challenge at Jaws, Mauis famed big-wave break, and captured the inaugural World Surf League womens Big Wave Championship.A few hours earlier, in the first heat of the womens contest, Kennelly caught the opening wave. It was the first surfed by a woman in a WSL big-wave contest, and it received the highest score of the day. On her second wave, Kennelly lost her balance navigating bumpy surf and felt the lip of a 30-foot wave crash onto her back leg. An MRI fortunately revealed no torn ligaments, but she was unable to surf in the final for which she qualified. As the first woman to tow into a wave at Teahupoo, the first woman to paddle into a wave at Nelscott Reef and the first woman to win an XXL Big Wave award in a previously male-only category, Kennelly, 38, is one of the most influential and respected women in big-wave surfing. Alms, 28, is the next generation. In 2005, she became the first woman to get barreled at Jaws, her home break and a wave shes surfed since she was 14, and was called the best female big-wave surfer by Surfline. She lived up to that billing on Friday, catching more waves than any woman in the event and surfing with confidence and poise on a windy, treacherous day at Jaws. The day after competing in this historic event, espnW caught up with both women, who were already asking, What next?espnW: What was the vibe like when you all arrived at the beach Friday morning knowing youd surf in the first WSL womens big-wave contest ?Paige Alms: Everyone was so supportive. I was so happy to see that all the girls showed up and were charging.Keala Kennelly: I was more relaxed than ever for a contest. I was Zen. Ive been living in California. I was just so happy to be in Hawaii and back in warm water. I was excited to surf anything over 4 feet. I was hyped to be able to paddle out without 60 guys in the lineup.espnW: What was it like to be out at Jaws with only women, and so few people, in the lineup?PA: Even when were free surfing at Jaws, there are usually only one or two women in the lineup. The most theres ever been at once was four or five girls. To have six of us out there in a heat with no one else in the lineup, we all felt the same way: This is awesome. If there are 60 guys in the lineup, you dont catch a lot of waves. We were all glowing and proud to be out there together. Win or lose, having an empty lineup at your home break, one of the best big waves in the world -- nothing tops that.espnW: Paige, because Maui is your home break, did you feel more pressure on you to take the win?PA: The pressure comes from within. I wanted to put on a good show and make sure we represented women well. That was the pressure for me. It wasnt about winning the contest. My friends tried to put that pressure on me. But it was about having those empty lineups, choosing the waves you want with other girls. When I won, I felt like I won for everyone.espnW: What was it like to have so many women competing at a break at which you both have been such pioneering surfers?PA: Only half the 12 girls had surfed Jaws before this contest, and the other half of us were nervous for that. I know how powerful this wave is, but not knowing is almost better. Those girls showed up and sent it. I felt pride for the girls.KK: Windy Jaws is treacherous, so my hats off to all the girls who went out and took a wave. Air Max 2018 Elite. spnW: Speaking of wind, the conditions looked incredibly windy on the webcast. How bad was the wind?PA: It was very challenging. It matched the name of the contest, The Peahi Challenge. The wind was gnarlier than it looked at home. When its windy like that, it becomes really dangerous. I dont usually surf it when its windy. The risk isnt worth the reward.KK: I was excited when we left the harbor. But on the boat ride out, you can tell if the wind is going to be an issue. As the water got choppier, I could see the wind was going to be an issue, and that gets scary for me at Jaws. It becomes really dangerous because the wind gets up under the board, holds you up at the lip, doesnt let you in and releases your fins. It ups the danger so much. It was intense.espnW: Knowing that, how do you find the confidence to paddle out and make the decision that its worth the reward?PA: When the stadium is set and you know you have to go out, you go. We had a moment when I heard there would only be three of us in the final [after Kennelly, Laura Enever and Emi Erickson qualified into the final but pulled out due to injuries], and some girls asked if we should postpone the event or push it to the next stop on tour. I was like, No. We are here to surf, to do the job they invited us to do. If we didnt step to the plate, it would make womens big-wave surfing look bad.The conditions were tough, but its still the best big wave in the world, even when its windy. We are going to do it now. It was game on for all of us from that point.KK: Paige did such an amazing job and sent it. She went out there and earned her victory and carried it for the women. But Paige is a true sportswoman and she was bummed I wasnt in the final. We love and respect each other, and Paige definitely wants me out there. But she is so deserving. Paige let people know that we deserve to be there. One of the disadvantages of being backside at Jaws is you have your back to most of the wave so its difficult to see ??the oncoming section and sometimes it can creep up on you and take you out. ?????? unfortunately I didnt see the end section coming on this wave and it caught me by surprise so I had no time to brace myself for the explosion ???? and my body paid the price ??. @wsl #Peahichallenge2016 ?? by @tonyharringtonA photo posted by Keala Kennelly (@kealakennelly) onNov 12, 2016 at 11:34am PSTespnW: What do you think happens from here? Is this the first of many big-wave events for the women?PA: Thats the goal. This is the first of its kind, the first time they gave us this opportunity. This is my home break, where I grew up and learned to surf big waves, and I felt obligated to put on a show to show the world we know how to surf this wave. Thats where the pressure came from. Now that we showed that, I hope the WSL will add more events. Maybe we can talk them into having the Todos womens event. It would be rad to have an event at all the big wave stops.KK: It was an honor to compete, and I was stoked for the opportunity. Its not the way I wanted it to go down, but Im proud of the wave I rode and proud that I got the highest score. And I am excited for next year. There will be a next year. (Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs will try to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals Thursday night when they meet the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the semifinals at Oracle Arena. France Florian Thauvin World Cup Jersey . The Spurs took the 3-2 series lead Tuesday night in Alamo City with a 109-91 victory. It was a tale of two halves as the Spurs blew the doors of the Warriors over the final 24 minutes. San Antonio outscored Golden State, 55-40 over the final two quarters. The Spurs shot 52.6 percent from the field in the second half, led by Tony Parker, who had 16 of his 25 points after halftime. "We made shots, the ball movement was good," Parker said. "So hopefully we can do the same thing in Golden State. Thats a big key for us ... We have to play Spurs basketball and move their defense." The Spurs handed out 30 assists on 40 made field goals. Thats incredible ball movement as Parker dished out 10 dimes and five other San Antonio players recorded at least three assists. With the offense clicking, the defense was pretty stout on Tuesday night, especially against the vaunted Warriors backcourt. In Game 5, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 13 points on 6-for-22 shooting. Curry was averaging 26 ppg during this series and he had nine on Tuesday. Thompson was at 20 ppg and he managed four. But Warriors coach Mark Jackson was quick to dismiss the cold shooting of the most prolific 3-point shooting teammates in NBA history as the reason for the loss "They shot 72 percent in the first quarter, scored 37 points," Jackson said of San Antonio. "That has nothing to do with Klay Thompson or Steph Curry shooting the basketball. Thats a recipe for disaster and that put us in the hole." It did, but the Warriors clawed back in the second quarter and had it as close as four points in the third. Then, thanks in large part to 11 Golden State turnovers in the second half, the Spurs went on their run. "Careless with the basketball," Jackson lamented. "We got out of character on both sides of the ball." Despite the disappointing performance from the starting guards, rookie Harrison Barnes continues to dazzle. After scoring 26 points in the Warriors Game 4 victory, Barnes followed it up with a 25-point performance on Tuesday night. The Warriors will try for their first appearance in the Western Conference Finals since the 1975-76 season. "Were excited about Game 6," said Jackson. "We want to put ourselves in position to head back to San Antonio, but first things first." For the Spurs, advancement would mark the eighth time in 15 years that San Antonio made it to the Conference Finals. They got to that level last year, but were bounced by the Oklahoma City Thunder in six games. "Nobody talks about getting this thing over with like youve got a rash, or take a pill, or put some cream on it and its going to be gone," joked Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. "This is a war. Thats a class team." If the Warriors win on Thursday, Game 7 will be back in San Antonio on Sunday. Cheap Youth France Jerseys .ca. PETERSBURG, Fla. .ca looks back at the stories and moments that made the year memorable.Following the most productive season of his career, Mark Fraser said he was eager to get a deal in place with the Maple Leafs and hopes the team can do the same with his defensive partner, Cody Franson. Speaking with Bryan Hayes and Jamie McLennan Tuesday afternoon on TSN 1050s Blue Lunch, the 26-year-old blueliner said the one-year, $1.275-million deal is something that works for both sides. "I think both sides were happy that we didnt end up going down that road (an arbitration hearing) and we were able to agree with something before-hand," Fraser said. "I wanted to be back at a fair price, but so did they, so I actually look at that as sort of a compliment." Coming off a season in which he was able to establish himself as a regular top-six defenceman for the first time in his career, the Ottawa native set career highs with eight points and 85 penalty minutes, while leading Toronto with a plus-18 rating. "We felt like we had something really good last year and we wanted to maintain that and that was the message this morning as well," Fraser said. Acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in February of 2012 for Dale Mitchell, Fraser developed a solid chemistry with Cody Franson, as the pairing was arguably Leafs most consistent throughout the season. "It worked out great," Fraser said. "I loved having a partner over there that was actually maybe even a little bit bigger than I am, not afraid to play physical and very responsible with his puck movement. It just happened to be a really good fit." Following the Fraser contract, Leafs GM Dave Nonis has around $4.9 million in cap space for his remaining restricted free agents, Franson and Nazem Kadri. Nonis also has the option of a second buyout period which lasts for 48 hourrs, three days after the teams final arbitration case is settled, should the team choose to free up additional dollars. Dark Blue World Cup France Jerseys. . "Hes going through a similar thing," Fraser said of Fransons contract situation. "But for his sake and our team and myself, I really hope it can be sorted out because hes just a great asset and he helped me out a lot." Forced to watch the Leafs final three playoff games from the sidelines after a scary incident in which he took a Milan Lucic shot to the forehead, Fraser said he should be 100 percent come training camp. "Ive been back to Toronto a couple of times throughout the summer for checkups. Probably about a month ago I was cleared to start training and a couple weeks ago I was cleared to start skating." Joking that he was more upset that he turned the puck over and "it ended up in my face," Fraser commented on how his doctors told him it was "pretty miraculous" that he didnt suffer a more serious injury. "The doctors were concerned about potential brain damage, but I actually didnt even have a concussion," Fraser said. "It took major surgery, but it actually could have been a lot worse." Selected in the third round, 84th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Fraser said there were no hard feelings between him and the Bruins winger and Lucic asked if Fraser was okay as he was being escorted out of the ACC prior to overtime. Despite the heartbreaking Game 7 loss to Boston, Fraser believes the Leafs are headed in the right direction and feels comfortable under head coach Randy Carlyle. "Im happy to play for a coach who believes in me and can give me the confidence and liberties to go out and play my way and play my style." They ended Thursday with the star outfielder still on the team, with the expectation he will be there on Opening Day as well. Our intent coming in here was to have Andrew McCutchen be in our lineup going forward, Pirates general manager Neal Huntington told reporters. No one changed that. Its unlikely someone changes that going forward. Were not going to close the door, but were not going to be making calls.Huntington said he talked to multiple teams at the winter meetings about McCutchen, but none of them were willing to meet his steep asking price. We took calls. We listened. We engaged, Huntington told reporters. And not just on Andrew but on other players who are on one- or two-year contracts. As we will always do, if we find the right move and we believe the right move is to move the player, well move the player. If we believe the right move is to hold the player, then well hold the player. In this instance, obviously, we felt the right move was to hold the player and have him continue to help us win a lot of games at the major league level. ... PHILADELPHIA -- The rookie quarterback quickly turned Philadelphia into Carson City. Air Max 270 For Sale Cheap .Coaches and teammates have raved about Carson Wentz despite barely seeing him play in games. Now a city starved for its first NFL championship since 1960 has embraced the red-haired kid from Bismarck following an impressive NFL debut. Its his team now, right tackle Lane Johnson said.Playing his first game in a month, Wentz showed no signs of rust or inexperience.Itll hit me after the game that Ive been dreaming about this since I was a kid, Wentz said after he threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns to help the Eagles beat the Cleveland Browns 29-10 on Sunday.Wentz looked every bit like the franchise quarterback the organization hoped for when it traded a slew of picks to move up in the draft and select him at No. 2 overall. By the way, the hapless Browns owned that pick before trading it away after they signed Robert Griffin III.Its not surprising, first-year coach Doug Pederson said of Wentzs success. Just knowing the maturity level that he has, this is who he is. This is his DNA. He prepared like a veteran and he played that way.Philadelphia is a tough town desperate for a winner. It can make or break athletes who cant handle the pressure. Wentz seems to have the right psyche. Its just a game, he said.Wentz, who missed the last three preseason games with injured ribs, immediately won over fans with a 19-yard TD pass to Jordan Matthews on the opening drive. Fast starts werent typical last year when Chip Kelly and his up-tempo offense ran the show. The Eagles didnt even score a TD in the first quarter until Week 6.That was huge, Wentz said. It gave me a lot of confidence.Promoted from No. 3 quarterback to starter just eight days ago after Sam Bradford was traded to Minnesota, Wentz played mistake-free football. He finished 22 of 37 with a 101.0 passer rating.I like what I see, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham said. Thats his preparation. Hes been here every morning at 5.One play after converting a fourth-and-4 from the Browns 40, Wentz tossed a perfect 35-yard TD pass down the right side to Nelson Agholor for a 22-10 lead in the third quarter.Hes a great competitor, Agholor said. He is ready for that moment.Wentz wasnt concerned about protecting his ribs, stood in the pocket, took some hard shots and made crisp passes. He fired one pass to Matthews for a big gain right before getting knocked down.Hes extremely confident, not that hes cocky, but no stage is too big for him, tight end Zach Ertz said. People think: `Oh, hes playing in Philadelphia from North Dakota State. There are not enough good things I can say about him. The guys are excited to play with him.So, hold off on the notion that the Eagles (1-0) gave up on contending in a weak NFC East by trading Bradford and committed to rebuilding by starting Wentz. Theyll be right in the mix if Wentz plays like this. When Sam got traded, I knew Carson could step up and make plays for us, left tackle Jason Peters said. Then again, he only beat the Browns (0-1).This is just one game, Matthews said. This is not the Super Bowl. We have to get ready for Chicago. The Eagles visit the Bears on Monday night in Week 2.---AP NFL website: Rob Maaddi on Twitter: Nike Air Max 270 For Sale . As Premier League Darts heads to Birmingham on Thursday, live on Sky Sports 1 HD at 7pm, our expert Mardle has concerns for fan favourite Snakebite.Heres Waynes picks for Thursdays arrows... Sky Live: PL Darts All the info you need... Peter Wright v Phil TaylorPeter is in a situation where he needs to win all his remaining games and hope other results give him a lift.I love that Peter entertains, I love that his action is superb, but he has got to stop changing his darts. Its becoming farcical. Phil Taylor beat Robert Thornton 7-2 last week Whenever he plays badly, we blame the darts. There will come a point where he plays himself out of form because of the constant changing.Prediction: I think Phil will win this. Hes winning when he plays well and hes winning when he doesnt play well - and thats a nice trait. (Sky Bet Odds: Taylor 1/2 to win)Raymond van Barneveld v Gary Anderson One of the best checkouts of Barneys season I expected Barney to lose to Adrian Lewis last week but Lewis just didnt play well. We know what Barney can do, hes a champion, but Gary is playing better than him. I thought Gary was excellent last week and the week before.Rotterdam is the week after next, and Barney will want to perform on what will be the biggest stage for him.Prediction: I think Gary wins this because Im not convinced Barney can keep fighting for no reason, its just not his way. Anderson will win 7-4. (Sky Bet Odds: Anderson 6/1 to win 7-4)Adrian Lewis v Robert Thornton Watch Adrian Lewis hit a nine darter You could have excused Thornton, after he didnt get eliminated, of just going through the motions. Cheap Air Max 270. . He could have just turned up, but no, hes had none of that. Hes tried his heart out. But last week he was really poor. Hes really inconsistent, which is unusual for him. This is a game that Lewis knows he must win.Prediction: Lewis will win it, but it wont be easy pickings. I think it could be a last-leg thriller! (Sky Bet Odds: Lewis 7/1 to win 7-5)James Wade v Michael van Gerwen Michael van Gerwen was on Soccer AM at the weekend If you offered Wade 6-6 he would not turn up.James must replicate what he did in the first week with a win over Michael - hes still the only person to beat him this year. If he can, it bodes well for him to qualify. It could get messy for that fourth spot. A loss for Wade doesnt necessarily end his hopes - if everyone loses, a draw somewhere down the line could be enough. The race for fourth wont be sorted out this week.Prediction: I think Wade loses. I think Van Gerwen just has too much for Wade. (Sky Bet Odds: MVG 2/7 to win)Peter Wright v Gary Anderson Gary Anderson will need better counting to beat Peter Wright... Wright has a terrible record against Anderson. I really do feel that Gary likes to play Wright because he plays well against him a lot.Weve said this when Barney plays Van Gerwen, and when Lewis plays Barney - you get players that you just like to play against. And I dont think Wright is a lover of playing Anderson.Anderson feels like hes got Wrights number, and I also think he has.Prediction: A dismal night for Wright. GLENDALE, Ariz. Argentina Guido Pizarro World Cup Jersey . -- When the city of Glendale backed out of an arena lease deal with the Arizona Coyotes last year, it put the future of the franchise in doubt yet again.Turns out, Glendale may have done the Coyotes a favor. The Coyotes announced a proposal Monday to build a 16,000-seat arena near Arizona State Universitys main campus by 2019, a deal that would put the team in the heart of the Phoenix areas population and financial center.Someone said at the time it would be a silver lining, Coyotes President and CEO Anthony LeBlanc said of the Glendale City Councils decision. This is a gold lining. The new arena will be on a 58-acre parcel within Arizona States Athletic Facilities District, less than two miles from campus. The NHL arena will include an attached 4,000-seat multi-sport arena that would be used for Coyotes practices as well as by ASU athletics and youth hockey teams. The Coyotes agreement with developer Catellus Development Corp. sets a June 30 deadline for creating the overall budget, design and operational plan for developing the arena.Coyotes majority owner Andrew Barroway said the arena will cost around $400 million, with the team picking up about half the cost. The other half will be through public-private funding, according to LeBlanc.Lets be realistic here: These types of arenas dont happen without some kind of public-private partnership, LeBlanc said. Its an absolute requirement, but the world has shifted where teams would look for the entire bill to be covered by a governmental agency, you see a shift toward the middle of the spectrum. The Coyotes shared an arena with the NBAs Phoenix Suns after moving from Winnipeg in 1996 and moved to the Phoenix suburb of Glendale in 2003. The team had other options at the time, including Scottsdale, but the area where they are now was expected to be the growth area in Phoenix, so the franchise went with Glendale. The Coyotes time in Glendale has been tumultuous, starting with former owner Jerry Moyes taking the team into bankruptcy in 2009, leading to the franchise being operated by the NHL for four years. The Coyotes signed a 15-year, $225 million arena lease deal with the city of Glendale in 2013, but the City Council voted to terminate the lease last year. The sides agreed to a restructured lease agreement last July to keep the team in Glendale for two more seasons. The team has a lease option for next season and LeBlanc said the team is already working on extending it.Arizona had considered sites in downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe before LeBlanc announced in June that the team had selected a then-unnamed site for its new home. One of the drawbacks of having the arena on the west side of town was that it was too difficult for fans on the east side to get to games, particularly during rush-hour traffic for weekday games. The new site will put the Coyotes on the more-populous east side of the Valley of the Sun and, they hope, lead to bigger crowds. The Coyotes annually have among the NHLs lowest attendance figures.Any business that you run, you want to make sure youre close as possible to the majority of your customers, LeBlanc said. Its just a simple, empirical fact that the majority of the people are on the east side. Thats not to say anything negative about our friends here on the west side, its just a fact that the vast majority are on the east side. The Coyotes hope to have construction begin by the end of next summer and have the arena ready for play by the 2019-20 season. There are still a few hurdles to cross -- namely the public funding side of the equation -- but Monday was a big step toward the Coyotes finding a permanent home. Its a long road to get here, but everything looks great for the Coyotes, Barroway said. For staying in Arizona. Were going to be in a place we think is the ideal location. Were going to build a world-class facility we believe our fans will be excited about and want to come to. Argentina Cristian Pavon World Cup Jersey . The Cincinnati Reds remain perfect with their speedy rookie outfielder in the starting lineup. Authentic Argentina Jerseys 2018 . The Cleveland Indians, Tampa Bay Rays, and Texas Rangers all won on Sunday meaning the Rangers will host the Rays in a play-in game on Monday. http://www.cheapworldcupargentinajerseys...rld-cup-jersey/ . -- Bobby Ryan helped the U. If Jessica Moore needed a crowd around her to make pitching worthwhile, she might never have picked up a softball in the first place.Crowds are hard to come by in Sutter, the town in northern California that offered olive groves aplenty, but no stoplights and little more in the way of grocery shopping when the Team USA pitcher grew up there. Sutter is near Yuba City, Moore explained recently to an outsider, not realizing that information might not help non-locals come any closer to finding it on a map. The nearest population center of national significance is Sacramento, about an hour south. In a town of around 3,000 residents, her high school senior class barely reached triple digits.Sutter is the kind of small town, she said, that shuts down for a high school football game. But it was not the kind of place where a young girl playing softball was likely to be spoiled with attention or the newest and priciest equipment. It was the kind of place where she wore out a rut in the grass in the backyard, her foot dragging each time she threw a pitch to her dad.Whether its more accurate to say those surroundings shaped her or suited her, the place and the person meshed.I dont really like to be the center of attention, Moore said. Some people, they look at [the pitcher] as the player who wants to have the spotlight on them. Im not necessarily that, but I like to be the one who is in control. I trust myself to do the job -- and obviously my teammates. But I like to have things riding on me. I like that pressure. I love to compete. As much as the drop-ball that tumbles off the table before it reaches batters, as much as the international experience available to the longest-serving pitcher on Team USAs staff, it is her background that makes Moore such an asset at this particular moment in the sports history. She worked to earn the chance to pitch for her country. That means everything to her. How many people are watching means less. The worlds attention is turning to the Southern Hemisphere and the Olympics, even as 31 international softball teams gather much farther north, near Vancouver, British Columbia, for the World Baseball Softball Confederation World Championship. There is optimism within softball that by the time the globe next gathers for the Olympics four years from now in Japan, the sport will return to the program from which it was evicted after 2008. A decision is expected by the time Brazils Olympics begin. But for now, as was the case when Japan won the title in Canada in 2012 and then defended it in the Netherlands in 2014, the world championship remains the sports biggest international prize.Vancouver, a megacity in every other respect, will play the role of Sutter in the shadow cast by Rio de Janeiro. There will be no television coverage in the United States and only modest media attention -- just plenty of competition for Moore and her teammates.Moore is not the household name, even in softball households, that Team USA pitchers of old like Lisa Fernandez or Jennie Finch were. None of the pitchers who make up the teams staff, which includes Kelly Barnhill, Ally Carda, Delanie Gourley and Jaclyn Traina, fit that description. Part of the reason are offensive tides in the sport that make it more difficult for pitchers to dominate. Some of it is because without the Olympic stage, it takes more effort for fans to keep track of players beyond college. That isnt to say the pitchers lack credentials. While recent graduate Cheridan Hawkins rewrote many of the University of Oregons records, Moore finished her college career as the Ducks all-time leader in wins and with four of the top five strikeout seasons in program history. She was thrice a first-team all-conference honoree. It says as much as anything that she started each of the first 20 postseason games Oregon played during her time there.I hated facing her, said Team USAs Valerie Arioto, formerly a Pac-12 rival at California. If you look at the stats, Im pretty sure she got me out every single time. So thats a little upsetting. She can just spot the ball, move the ball, drop it off the table. She was always one where I just hoped my teammates picked me up.Arioto was being generous, as teammates are wont to be. It wasnt a complete whitewash; among the most accomplished hitters in recent memory, she did manage exactly one single in 15 career at-bats against Moore.Shes a bulldog, Team USA coach Ken Eriksen said. She goes right after the batters. Its not trying to nibble here and nibble there. TThe most successful pitchers are the ones who avoid the walks, and shes that type of pitcher where shell go right at you. Argentina Nicolas Otamendi World Cup Jersey. She got a late start pitching, not playing organized softball until she was around 10 years old. Once she started, she wasnt content to be the big fish in a small pond. She played for high-level travel softball teams based far away from Sutter. She chose Oregon, at the time a struggling program in a conference that was still producing the national champion on an almost annual basis. The surroundings never intimidated her, even if she felt some people doubted the small-town pitcher could survive. It wasnt that she thought she was so good that she wouldnt struggle. She craved the challenge. It mattered more than manners, more than making friends.I think that was the hardest thing for me going in, was getting people to understand what Im really about because I am a little rough around the edges, Moore said. I think people sometimes mistake my sheer competitiveness and my demeanor. I guess I dont always look like the nicest person on the field. You cant put me in my element and expect me to be nice.Balance came as college continued, with help from a kindred spirit in former Oregon assistant and current UNLV coach Lisa Dodd. It was fine to expect the best out of teammates, Dodd suggested, but better to help them get there than shut them out if they fall short. By the time Moore was a junior, she was the Pac-12 pitcher of the year and a leader on a team that ended a long World Series drought. Yet no invite came to try out for Team USA, even as it rebuilt its roster for the first world championship it would contest without its Olympic-era core.So she went out and put up similar numbers as a senior. Finally, the invitation came in 2013. Four summers later, she is still here.I had the opportunity to work with the best pitching staff ever put together for the United States of America, Eriksen said of his role as an assistant on the 2004 Olympic team. When Im using my measuring stick, Im looking at Lisa Fernandez, Cat Osterman, Lori Harrigan and Jennie Finch. Thats, to me, the elite level. We have some pitchers that have that opportunity to get there, but they have to have the mental capacity to do that. She is one of those people that has that capacity to continue to elevate her game.If there is a temptation to pass those off as the words a coach has to say, consider that Eriksen last year hired Moore as his pitching coach to assist him in the job that actually pays his bills as head coach at the University of South Florida. Whether or not she ever dominates hitters to the same degree those former USA pitchers did, she thinks about the game and the process of pitching the way they did. That is rare enough. The United States doesnt enter the upcoming tournament as the favorite. Team USA doesnt hold any major title at the moment, silver medalists in the last Olympics in 2008, the most recent world championship and last years Pan-Am Games. Japan, which won three of four games against Team USA this year, is the favorite, with or without Yukiko Ueno, the legendary ace who was not on the roster when Japan played in an invitational tournament in Oklahoma City a week ago.Moore and her teammates arent seeking the worlds validation.Just an opportunity to again be its best softball team.I dont think I need anything to validate this experience because the experience is the experience itself, Moore said. Every time we get on the field, we want to win. We play to win. But at the end of the day, sometimes you cant control that. We can play phenomenal and we could come in second place. At some point, you cant be OK with it, but youve got to be able to swallow that. But thats the beauty of this game, too.If youre chasing gold medals, somewhere down the line thats going to catch up with you.But neither are they placeholders, not merely wearing the uniforms until the Olympic glory returns and others take their places. They compete for the same reason those in Brazil will compete. And its not because of how many people are watching. You cant just have a small-town focus, Moore said. Its got to be big dreams and youve got to go places to do it. You cant just do it out in Sutter. Youve got to play against the best to prove youre the best. There is still a lot to be proven, but I think Ive started a good legacy at least. Four All-Stars, two MVPs, a whole new Splash Family in Golden State. Jonathan Marchessault Jersey .Kevin Durants decision to join the Warriors on Monday sent tremors through the NBA, and players and executives throughout the league immediately started to contemplate how the newest super team would alter the landscape.Thats crazy!!!! KD in GSW???? Wizards center Marcin Gortat tweeted. (Are) they gonna score 200 points a game? The Warriors already were a super team before one of the leagues most unstoppable scorers decided to leave Oklahoma City for the Bay Area. Golden State won the championship in 2015, rolled to a regular-season record 73 victories last season and came within one game of back-to-back titles when they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Now they have added the player who nearly eliminated them a round earlier.Though not everyone is anointing them next years champions.Everyone is so hyped up on the matchup problems on the offensive end? They still gotta come down the other end, Pistons All-Star center Andre Drummond tweeted. Not a very big team.Durants decision immediately rekindled the discussion about stars leaving teams to chase a championship elsewhere. Durant spent his first nine seasons in Oklahoma City. While there, he helped lead the Thunder to the Western Conference finals four times and to the NBA Finals in 2012, where they lost to the Heat, another super team formed when LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined Dwyane Wade in Miami.Durant himself spoke out negatively about creating super teams when James made his decision in 2010.But after the Thunder could never get to the top of the mountain with Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka -- and even though they had the Warriors down 3-1 in the conference finals -- Durant opted to head west.If you cant beat um, join um, Clippers forward Paul Pierce tweeted to tweak Durant. When James left Cleveland for Miami, stars such as Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson were critical of the decision to join forces with players he had competed against.Theres no way, with hindsight, I wouldve ever called up Larry (Bird), called up Magic and said, `Hey, look, lets get together and play on one team, Jordan said in 2010. But thats ... things are different. I cant say thats a bad thing. Its an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys.Denver Nuggets forward Jusuf Nurkic was equally puzzled by Durants decision.Somebody beat you! And you go there... ? Nurkic tweeted. Superstar not doing that man. While Durant has never been too concerned by outside opinions, his decision may also have ramifications on the NBAs collective bargaining negotiations.During the last lockout, the owners pushed to make changes to the agreement so that teams, especially those in smaller markets, would have a bigger advantage in retaining players.Commissioner Adam Silver has said in the past that those changes were effective, but the influx of new money into the system this summer from the leagues new $24 billion television contract, and Stephen Currys bargain contract that was negotiated when he was struggling with ankle injuries, conspired to give the Warriors enough wiggle room to spend $54 million on Durant. The league and the players union can opt out of the current CBA this year, and both sides have been negotiating to try to avoid another work stoppage. One of the biggest talking points Silver has been making over the past six months is the leagues continued push for more parity. The intention wasnt that in this system that teams could sign, without going above the tax, that many max player contracts and that many All-Stars, Silver said during All-Star weekend in Toronto. So if you ask me from a league standpoint, we would prefer that our All-Stars be distributed around the league rather than having so many All-Stars in one market. But well see what happens this summer. The summer is here, and so are the Warriors, who still have work to do.The Heat went 2-2 in the finals during the James, Wade and Bosh era, including a loss to the underdog Dallas Mavericks in their first season together. When James went back to Cleveland to team up with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers lost in the finals their first year before winning this season. And everyone remembers the Los Angeles Lakers falling short both in 2003-04 -- when Gary Payton and Karl Malone joined Kobe Bryant and Shaquille ONeal to chase a title -- and even more spectacularly in 2012-13 when Dwight Howard and Steve Nash came to town. This time appears to be different, with all four of Golden States All-Stars aged 28 or younger and squarely in their prime.Only problem theres only 1 ball, Jazz center Rudy Gobert tweeted. And only so much money, as odd as that sounds this summer. So the Warriors have agreed to trade Andrew Bogut and will likely have to jettison Harrison Barnes -- two important cogs for them the past two seasons -- and will rely on several minimum salary veterans to fill out the roster for depth. They will also face a crush of attention and many hoping they fail.Warriors forward Draymond Green no doubt understands this, and got straight to the point with Durant in his first message to him on Twitter:Block out the noise.---This story has been corrected to show that Durant helped the Thunder to four Western Conference finals. Tomas Hyka Jersey . James, who turned 29 on Monday, injured his groin Friday during the Heats overtime loss at Sacramento. Anthony Calvillo, through 20 CFL seasons, was frequently invincible and largely stoic in the heat of competition. But underneath the professional exterior he was, and is, compellingly human. Every offseason, Football Outsiders compiles a list of unheralded players who have the chance to become stars or major contributors. We use certain criteria to find the best young players who werent high draft picks and still havent had too much playing time but could be on track to become significant contributors. What would that list look like now, as opposed to in the next offseason? What follows is our list of top 25 prospects, based on players who would qualify right now. Some of these players could play their way off the list as their snap counts rise over the final eight weeks of the season, while others might still be fairly unknown when we get to next years training camp. But all of them are players to watch in the NFL going forward. The criteria:Third-round pick or lower (or undrafted) from the 2014-16 classes500 or fewer offensive or defensive career snaps through Week 10No signed contract extensionAge 26 or youngerIn the past, weve found players such as Arian Foster, Geno Atkins?and Jamaal Charles on our list. Our 2016 offseason list already has graduates including David Johnson, Danielle Hunter, Jordan Hicks?and Grady Jarrett making big impacts.Heres who we like now:1. Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins436 offensive snaps | Fifth-round pick (2015)Nothing spellls out the roller-coaster nature of NFL life better than Ajayis past two seasons. Luca Sbisa Jersey. He went from looking like a first- or second-round pick to dropping out of the first two days of the draft due to a lack of cartilage in his knee. He finally had a chance to be a starter when Lamar Miller left Miami, but the Dolphins immediately blocked him with an aging Arian Foster. When Ajayi pouted about it, he was left behind for Week 1 in Seattle. Then the Dolphins figured out what draftniks knew: Ajayi was actually good. He rolled over the Steelers for 204 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6, and since then, the Dolphins have made him the centerpiece of their offense, rolling to four straight wins as theyve limited Ryan Tannehills snaps behind a bad pass-blocking line. Right now, Ajayi leads the NFL in rushing value,?according to Football Outsiders DVOA and DYAR metrics. The past five weeks, Ajayi is third in the NFL with 21 broken tackles, even though Miami has played only four games in that time. Ajayi is a victory for believing in an individual players talent because despite all the jibber-jabber around his career, his talent won out. Six months before the first whistle of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and much of Arena 2 is covered in plastic tarps. Mexico Erick Gutierrez World Cup Jersey .The future home to Augusts Olympic judo and wrestling competitions, Arena 2 remains dimly lit even as the midsummer sun raises temperatures to 100 degrees. A dozen industrial fans try to displace the heavy air, but as wrestlers jog, drill and prep on blue mats, the fans only effect seems to be added noise.I can literally see the Zika on the mat, says Adeline Gray, the 75kg representative for the United States. The worlds top-ranked wrestler at her weight stares at mosquitoes attaching to practice mats laid on the concrete floor.Gray wipes her hand across the surface showing the resulting combination of cleaning liquid and mosquitoes to a friend. Um, this is gross. Its January in Rio, and Zika -- including coverage of the devastating birth defects caused by the virus -- is dominating the news. Women of child-bearing age are nervous. Athletes have contemplated sitting out the Games in Rio, where the virus is rampant. Not Gray. Shes concerned at a World Health Organization level, but the 25-year-old reflects on the news with a blunted affectation. Should it bother me? she says, Im not having babies right now. Im wrestling.Gray is in Rio along with female wrestlers from China, Russia, Mongolia, Brazil and Japan for the Olympic test event, a tournament organized as a dry run of the wrestling procedures in use during the Rio Games. But construction delays, an ongoing bribery controversy and general lack of funding have meant that many test events arent proceeding under Olympic conditions. The wrestling event is no exception, but it has still attracted an unlikely distillation of talent at Grays weight class.Four of the five top-ranked women are entered to compete, including Grays opponents in the last two world championship finals: Brazils Aline da Silva Ferreira (2014) and Chinas Qian Zhou (2015). It was Zhou who also gave Gray the biggest scare of the past few years, opening up an eight-point lead in the first round of the 2014 world championships before Gray made an improbable comeback, using a leg-lace maneuver to earn 10 points and the win.The talent pool makes this a full-throttle Olympic tune-up, and Gray is the woman to beat. She has defeated each of the titleholders and reigns as the only three-time world champion. She also comes into Rio favored to win an Olympic gold medal, a feat no U.S. woman has accomplished. And she has no doubt that shell be the one to do it.Grays confidence, like her wrestling, is stripped-down -- this is a no-frills sort of domination shes imparting on the world. Her quick barbs are subtle, always authentic and refreshingly free of manufactured posturing. (She once responded to inquiry about her favorite male wrestler with, Why would I watch mens wrestling?)Ahead of the Rio test event, Gray pulls her ponytail tight and begins to jog around two of the mats laid down on the arena floor. She seems almost unaware of how steep her competition will be the following day, or more likely, she simply doesnt care. To Gray, the wrestling will just bring her one tournament, one step, closer to achieving her goal of becoming an Olympic champion.Raised in a sports familyGray got her start on the mats in Littleton, Colorado -- an hour drive from Colorado Springs, home to the U.S. Olympic Committee and the national wresting training center. Donna Gray sent her high-energy daughter to practice with an uncle who coached little league wrestling. Adeline liked it well enough, but didnt take to the sport with any more seriousness than her many other athletic pursuits. In middle school I really thought I was going to be a professional soccer player, she says. Which would have been something to see. Before her freshman year in high school, Grays family asked to her to choose a sport to focus on outside of school -- with three little sisters the family could afford the time and money to support one travel or specialty team per child. Grays choice came down to the Olympic opportunity being presented in wrestling. It was weird, but I thought I could be an Olympic champion, Gray says. I mean all of a sudden these women were on TV competing. It was real. When a boyfriend of only a few weeks broke off their courtship because she spent too much time wrestling, it made her choice even more clear.Him saying that kinda made me recognize how much I loved wrestling, says Gray. Before that I guess I thought it was fun, that the Olympics were a distant dream, but that brought my dream into sharper focus.Gray started traveling to the Olympic Training Center to learn from coach Terry Steiner and women on the team. She quit soccer and switched over to cross country in the hope of keeping herself in shape for the season, in which shed mainly compete against boys.It took a while for opponents to treat me like other guys on the team, Gray says. Finally some guy got beat and his friends were making fun of him, and he just yelled OK, fine, you go wrestle her!Gray moved from high school to high school, in part to find the right training situation for her growing competitive appetite. In 2008 she won the junior world championship, a competition for wrestlers younger than 21 years old. She was 17.That summer she moved to a high school in Northern Michigan, where she lived with USA Wrestling team member Jenna Burkert.Shes different than most of us and in so many ways, says Burkert. She can be down like nine points and really believe, like know, she is going to win. I started calling it the Adeline State of Mind. Shes just always been absolutely confident in her ability. Its good for her, but its also contagious. Hang around her long enough, and you think youre unbeatable, too.She finished her high school career with 40 pins, mostly against boys. She made the 2009 junior world team and later her first senior world team, moving back to Colorado to train full-time in Colorado Springs. She enrolled online at DeVry University so that she could devote more time to wrestling (she graduated in February).Hoping to make the 2012 Olympic team, Gray cut almost 25 pounds to wrestle at 63kg. But she was exhausted by the weight loss and failed to make the team. She still won her first world championship later that year, wrestling back up at the 67kg weight class.Heading into the 2013 season, Gray agreed to her coaches request to move up to 72kg for the 2013 World Cup, an annual team-based event, as long as she could move back down to 67kg for the world championships later. She had what it took to be an Olympic champion at 72kg, says Steiner. We knew that, and we could tell her, but she needed to feel it for herself in competition first.Steiner was certain Gray was on the path to Olympic glory, but then an unexpected political event left Gray, and the sport, out of the Games.Olympic upheavalOn February 12, 2013, the International Olympic Committee recommended that the sport of wrestling -- one of the original sports of the Ancient Olympics -- be eliminated from the Olympic Games.I was upset, but I also just thought it was crazy, says Gray. Wrestling was the first-ever sport of the Games and now its, what? Gone? The whole thing was ridiculous. This is my life.As word spread and outrage piqued, the political leadership of wrestlings international federation -- then known by the acronym FILA -- ousted president Raphael Martinetti and elected Serbian businessman Nenad Lalovic as their new head.Lalovics appointment would ultimately prove fateful for the Olympic future of women wrestlers around the world, and especially Gray.At the time of Olympic dismissal, there were seven weight categories for each of mens freestyle and Greco-Roman, but only four for women -- a total of 14 weights to four. Weeks after his election, Lalovic took the issue of gender equity to the IOC and offered to make immediate change, suggesting to redistribute two mens weight classes -- one in each freestyle and Greco-Roman -- to womens wrestling. The change would mean each discipline now had an equal number of Olympic weights (six) to be equally distributed between 48kg and a new weight of 75kg.The decision for six weight classes was fair. Our women are some of the strongest in all of sports and needed more opportunity, said Lalovic. We wanted to ensure gender equity to our athletes and be a good Olympic partner. The consideration of gender equity, along with a multimillion-dollar promotional campaign to Save Olympic Wrestling, helped wrestling earn reinstatement in the Olympic Games. The sport wasnt just back on the program -- it now offered new opportunities to women wrestlers like Gray, ever-stuck in tweener weights.I didnt want to get bigger, says Gray. Im like every woman where I wanted to have thinner hips and look awesome in a bathing suit, not put on more weight. And I was just convinced to go 72kg. Now add another seven-to-eight pounds to that? Its kinda gettin up there. For the 2013 world championships in Budapest, Team USA coaches had bargained with Gray to wrestle at 72kg. By the 2014 world championships, Steiner had convinced her that the newly instated 75kg class should be her home. That year, she breezed into the finals, where she bested Brazils da Silva 2-1.Once Adeline believes in something, shes changed. I think she gets nervous like all of us, says Burkert. But something happens when she steps on the mat. She changes. Shes basically becomes unbeatable.Gold medal in hand and her Olympic journey possible, Gray realized that she was done with yo-yoing between weights.I was the champ, and I kinda looked at 75kg like it was my weight class. And, yeah, whatever, my hips are fine. My hips win gold medals.Prize fighterIn December 2015, Gray stood center mat at the K.D. Jadhav Wrestling Stadium in central Delhi, India, moments away from the start of her fourth professional wrestling match. Fans were waving their hands in almost cartoonish ways, hoping to draw Grays attention just long enough for eye contact -- a moment of recognition from a fast-rising female wrestling celebrity.Womens wrestling in India has exploded in popularity since Geeta Phogat won the 2010 Commonwealth Games -- a quadrennial competition among former members of the British Empire -- and her sister Babita Kumari took silver. That growth has ballooned in the years since. Geeta became the first Indian woman to qualify for the Olympics in wrestling and later took bronze at the world championships. The sisters are so popular that their familys story will be on the big screen this December in the Bollywood film Dangal. And now, there stood Gray on the mat, being applauded by 3000-plus fans, TV cameras capturing her every wink, ready to compete in wrestling as a professional. And ready to cash checks like one too, with tens of thousands of dollars already guaranteed for Gray to wrestle. It was then a week before Christmas, and in the first three matches of her Professional Wrestling League debut, Gray was undefeated and unchallenged. Gray was moving so smoothly that Coach Steiner sent her a text asking her to challenge herself a little more on the mats. Find something new. Fewer throws, more challenging techniques.Terry told me I had work on other stuff, Gray says in a false whimper. Boooo. As powerful as Gray appears, shes equally as flexible. She glided through her pre-match routine with her sister, Geneva, in tow. Wrestling requires a unique combination of strength and elasticity, so Grays preparation included banded stretching, hip-turning calisthenic movements and a cycling through of her favorite techniques.I love this move, Gray says as she began to pinch Genevas head and arm together like she was making her little sister hold a phone and change a light bulb at the same time.Gray shifted her hips and sent Geneva smacking into the mat on her back, moaning and giggling at the same time. The girls on the team wont wrestle with me if I use it, she says of the technique. They call it my Big Bitch Move. The move, put simply, is a painful version of a schoolyard headlock that requires pure brute strength to execute. Fortunately, Gray is among the strongest female wrestlers in the world -- an observation buoyed by the sight of Genevas eyes slowly welling up from a lack of oxygen.Recounting Steiners instructions, Gray repeated, I need to focus on takedowns. No throws, no leg laces -- most of these girls are smaller than me anyway.Gray was soon called to the arena floor to call the coin flip opposite Delhi-based captain Mangalayatan University Dilli Veer Vinesh Phogat, the teams female 48kg wrestler. Her arrival warranted another round of applause.Gray jogged to the edge of the mat wearing her team jacket and turned to her Geneva for some additional hair braiding. She let loose a rapturous grievance concerning a lack of payment by event organizers.I told em Ill fly home right now unless they pay, Gray says. [The organizers] tell me the money is en route, but I dont trust it until I see it in my account.Gray was showing everyone around her a photo she took of a recent receipt delivered by a team owner. She seemed unimpressed, and there was no question of her intent. The money was only about what it represented: respect. After 45 minutes warming up in the back as her team wrestled, Grays name was announced for the sixth bout of the night. She was to face a young Indian heavyweight, Nikki, who has seen limited success in world and league competition.Grays entrance was as triumphant as any at the WWEs Royal Rumbles. Fans erupted as the arena bumped to the sounds of the Mumbai teams anthem (each team has a unique song) and pyrotechnic displays distracted among a mixture of light and smoke. From the first whistle, Gray swatted and bobbed like a cat playing with her food, moving the smaller Nikki from side to side, unfurling leg attacks and snapping down her opponents head. Unable to get underneath, Gray focused on Nikkis head until the Indian wrestler straightened up, offering Gray an exposed arm and leg -- perfect opportunity to hit her big move. It was against the advice, but sometimes doing enough for the win is all thats needed. When the League wrapped up on Dec. 27, Grays Mumbai squad finished in first place, and the worlds top-ranked 75kg wrestler remained unbeaten. She was also paid in full.An Olympic testGrays first opponent in Januarys Olympic test event is hometown hero da Silva. Like so many women on the mats, da Silva was a trailblazer in her country, becoming the highest-ever world placer for Brazil in wrestling when she took silver against Gray in the 2014 world finals.Gray doesnt have as much of an issue in the rematch, but the score is close with Gray scooting past da Silva 2-0.Wrestling is hard enough, says Burkert. But Adeline is the champion and shes the woman with the target on her back. Shes the one that everyone is preparing for, and shes still beating them each time out. That takes extra dedication.Grays semifinal match is against Zhou, the Chinese wrestler who two years earlier was one point away from earning a technical fall before Gray powered back.Zhou opens with a powerful front headlock to take a 4-0 lead, quickly following with another takedown to close the first period with a 7-1 lead over Gray.Sometimes you sit back and wonder how she climbs out of these big ol holes, says Rich Bender, the executive director of USA Wrestling. And even as he paces back and forth, arms crossing and uncrossing, you get the sense he has seen this act before. But watch, shell come back. The Adeline State of Mind.Three minutes of the first period gone and only three more left, Gray opens the second period unflustered. She digs under Zhous arms to find the position to hit her signature move. Zhou stays active in her defense, but loses an angle which gives Gray the chance for a leg-attack takedown.Zhou leads 7-3.Back to their feet after no action on the mat, Gray attacks a backpedaling Zhou with a series of cupped hands to the back of the head. Grays trying to distract Zhou and force her chin up, but Zhou submits to the pressure and drops her hands to the mat, and in a hiccup Gray has another quick go-behind.Zhou leads 7-5.With only two minutes on the clock, Gray needs to score twice. Bender yells generic encouragements. And with coaches barking instructions and fans from all sides cheering, the three-time world champion reaches down and -- as shes practiced a million times before, in practice halls from Colorado to India -- swims her arm through Zhous legs and locks in her leg lace. One, two and then six times around, Gray finds 12 points and another unlikely 17-7 technical fall victory.Coach Steiner claps, and table workers begin to turn their heads to wonder if anyone else was tuning in to that comeback.Told ya! exclaims Bender, slapping a colleague on the back. Gosh darn it, I told ya. Ya cant coach that!Next up for Gray is former top-ranked 75kg Canadian wrestler Erica Wiebe, who, after stumbles at the world championships in September, looked fantastic in quickly disposing of 2013 world champion Fengliu Zhang of China in her semifinal. The finals begin and the script repeats itself. Gray falls behind early, roars back and gives fans of USA Wrestling a minor coronary in the process. This time Gray finishes the match winning 7-4.What. A. Freakin. Stud, says Bender.Gray walks off the mat, smiling broad enough to reveal her thick white mouthpiece. This was her first big Olympic test of 2016, but she knows there will be smaller ones in the weeks ahead. Shell need to figure out what to eat, when to schedule media, find workout partners, map sleep schedules.Over the next six months her opponents will practice repeatedly a defense to Grays leg lace. Theyll pore over film of her big bitch move. Theyll dissect her positioning. They will find weaknesses in her strategy. But so will Gray.Maybe Im immune to criticism, she says. But I take everything said as a compliment and all my challenges as opportunity. I never think its over; theres always a chance. I dont think thats optimism, but probably more just my confidence, like a sign of self-love. Wholesale Mexico Jerseys . 4 Villanova with a 96-68 drubbing on Monday. The adage my body is my temple has become synonymous with health and well-being, yet few industries are predicated on the phrase more than sports and modeling. Both career paths require complete excellence of form and a schedule that would exhaust most. For Lauren Wasser, 28, straddling the fashion world and the basketball court was always a way of life. Both my mom and dad were models, she said in a phone interview. My mom [Pamela Cook] was one of the it girls in the 80s and 90s with Stephanie Seymour, Cindy Crawford and all those models. My mother and I literally traveled everywhere together. We were like two peas in a pod. I was in Italian Vogue when I was just 3 months old, being shot by [famed photographer] Patrick Demarchelier. And then we did a bunch of Gap ads together. I definitely grew up into that way of life. And while modeling was something that came naturally to Wasser, she said basketball was always her true passion.First and foremost, I loved basketball, she said. My dad introduced me to basketball when I was a baby. But he wasnt [really] in my life at all. I was raised by a single mom. So basketball became my escape and safe place. Whenever I stepped on the court, it felt like I could leave everything there. It was my release.Wasser hoped to turn her passion into a career, and playing for the WNBA was on her short list of goals. The 2000 movie Love & Basketball quickly became her favorite film, and continues to be today. She wanted to mimic the life of protagonist Monica Wright as best she could by going to a D-I school. However, she gave up a full scholarship, deferred her dream a bit and opted to nurture her then-budding modeling career. She thought shed return to the game, eventually. Then things changed. In October 2012, she started having flu-like symptoms.I had been using the same [feminine hygiene] product for 11 years, and my period is very heavy, so I was using the super plus tampons, Wasser said. I ran out to the drugstore that morning and bought a box from the same brand. I changed my tampon, then lied down in bed and realized I was feeling really terrible. I texted my friends because it was fall and the flu was going around. So many of them had been sick. I let them know that I wouldnt be able to make it out to a friends party that night. But as the day went on and Wasser changed her tampon again, her condition began to worsen. However, she fought through it.She picked herself up and actually made it to the bar, and as soon as she walked in, her friends remarked that she looked incredibly ill. At that moment, it hit her that the situation might be serious.I drove myself back to my apartment [that night, after leaving the party] and took off all of my clothes when I got there, she said. I felt like my body was burning from the inside. I hopped in my bed and was woken up [in the middle of the night] by my cocker spaniel jumping on my chest and the knock of police on my door. My mother and I are really close, and she called in a welfare check on me because she hadnt heard from me in a while. When I let the officer in and looked around, I realized just how much time had passed, because I wasnt able to take my dog out and she had ended up relieving herself in my apartment.Wasser didnt realize it at the time, but her fever had spiked to 107 degrees. Her mother suggested calling an ambulance, but she just wanted to rest and stated that they would talk again the next morning. But that call never happened. So Wassers mother, who had just undergone surgery and lived more than an hour away, headed over to her apartment, only to find her laying on the bedroom floor.By that time, Wassers organs had already begun to fail, but luckily, the nearest hospital was only a few blocks away. Though she suffered a heart attack while en route. Had it not been for the infectious disease specialist on staff, no one would have been able to figure out why things were going so wrong. After inquiring about Wassers menstrual cycle, the doctor discovered that she was wearing a tampon. After the test results came back, it was uncovered that she indeed had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), which often results from toxins produced by Staphylococcus aureus (staph) bacteria.TSS is very rare, said Dr. Mary Jane Minkin, a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist and a clinical professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. At the height of the TSS epidemic in 1980, there were about 200 cases in the U.S., and one of the major discoveries was that it was really a phenomenon related to tampon usage. The major guideline that occurred was the recommendation that women use the least absorbent tampon that they could, and many of the really super absorbent tampons that were on the market were removed. But such isnt the case now, and a super plus tampon like Wasser used, specifically meant to aid women with protection from heavy flows, is commonplace.Though she didnt know it then, Wasser was already in the throes of the disease, which starts with a fever rising from 102 degrees and beyond, then leads to desquamates, or skin shedding -- especially of the palms and soles -- 1-2 weeks after onset. Thhough coming in and out of a medically induced coma, she remembered the tar-like substance (likely bacteria) that was being drained from her body into huge jars. Golden Knights Jerseys For Sale. They told my mom and my stepdad to prepare my funeral, because there was no way Id survive, based on how bad the damage was and the severity of my situation, Wasser said. I woke up a week-and-a-half later from a coma, and I felt like my legs and feet were on fire. Then they starting to become discolored. And I heard a nurse talking about a 24-year-old patient who would need a below-the-knee amputation. It took me some time to realize she was talking about me.But what would a star athlete do without her legs, Wasser thought?Wasser begged and pleaded to her mom and doctors to save her limbs, but gangrene had set in and was moving up her leg at a rapid speed, the result of seriously low blood pressure, another byproduct of the disease. Thus, Wassers lower right leg, as well as the toes on her left foot had to be removed. She was given a 50 percent chance of ever walking again.I was in the hospital for four months and after they sent me home, I was in a wheelchair for eight months, Wasser said. But losing a limb wouldnt slow her down. Thereafter, she committed herself to using her platform wisely.Ive now returned to fashion, and Im using the connections I have through it, she said. I have purpose. Through sharing my story -- Im getting emails from women who had TSS in 1978, and mothers who are in the ICU and forcing their doctors to read my article because they arent paying attention to the potential symptoms.Wasser told one such story of a doctor who uncovered that his patient had TSS from a woman who pushed him to read her story. Now, Wasser just wants to help save lives.I didnt have that encouragement when I was first grappling with TSS, Wasser said. I didnt know anyone who had [it], because I think the disease is pushed under the rug as a whole. So here I am trying to educate the world and force a change for good. Its surprising how many lives have been affected by it over the past 30 years, and there arent [many] statistics being kept about it.Wasser found a major ally in New York Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, who has brought the Robin Danielson Act in front of Congress nine times. The bill gives women knowledge about the materials that make up feminine hygiene products and their long-term effects.Of the legislation, Wasser said: It has been rejected nine times, which is ridiculous for such a basic right. She continued, Its a very important bill, and we all have the right to know what were putting in our bodies. Many more people need to be aware of it, so we can actually make a change. But Wasser said she has seen a change in the marketplace since she began sharing her story.Ive noticed that the door has been opened for women-centric companies like Thinx and Lola that didnt have a lane just a few years ago. Now, fashion and modeling have taken on a completely new meaning for Wasser. Taking photos, posing in campaigns and walking the runway have now given her the chance to show people the beauty in prosthetics.I want the image of disabled people like myself to change into a picture of strength, she said. Fashion needs to redefine its idea of beauty and have more of an open mind.Wasser even admitted that she was a bit of a mean girl in her younger years.I used to look at fashion from a superficial standpoint, and I can admit now that I wasnt so nice of a person, she said. I was a bit of a jerk, and going through all of this has changed my outlook and opinion on so many things. When it comes to inclusivity in the fashion industry, Wasser agrees that progress is happening, albeit slowly. She has walked on the runway for fashion line Chromat as well as other globally recognized brands and is modeling as one of the faces of Kenneth Coles Fall 2016 ad campaign. She said shes proud of the boundaries she has helped to break so far.Its a conversation that is ongoing, and social media is giving disabled people all over the globe a platform, Wasser said. The industry has become more accepting, because theyre realizing how many people need that representation and visibility. As for her future with basketball, Wasser is still hitting the courts.Dont get me wrong, my handle game is still strong, she said. And my girlfriend has two amazing boys who are die-hard athletes, so I shoot around with them and coach them however I can. I have a love for the game that will never be broken, regardless of my circumstances. Im always going to be around it and involved in it.But Wasser said her next endeavor, surprisingly, is music, and she has just finished her first EP.I used to take photos as therapy, but [performing] also serves the same purpose -- just in a different way, she said. Im just happy to have a second chance at living, so I want to make it a good one.Faith Cummings writes for Paper Magazine and, among other publications. Darren Clarke set up a WhatsApp messaging group with his Ryder Cup assistants to discuss which European players looked the best leading up to the deadline for his three captains picks. Tarvarius Moore Jersey .The name of Thomas Pieters popped up more than any other.Hitting the best form of his career at just the right time, Pieters made it tough for Clarke to ignore him. He was selected Tuesday as one of Europes three wild cards for next months showdown with the United States at Hazeltine. The 24-year-old Belgian will be one of six Ryder Cup rookies on a European team seeking an unprecedented fourth straight victory in golfs biggest team event. He brings a bit more of the X-factor. He is going to blossom, Clarke said. He will be a star.Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer were very obvious choices as two of the captains picks, Clarke said after making the announcement at the European Tours headquarters at Wentworth. He had sleepless nights over his final selection. It boiled down to Pieters and Russell Knox, players who have won events on different sides of the Atlantic this month.Pieters got the nod on the back of this hot run: Fourth place at the Olympics, second place at the Czech Masters, and then a victory at the Made in Denmark tournament where he birdied the last three holes to win on Sunday. Clarke was in Denmark to see Pieters third win in the past year, and made sure he was grouped with him for the opening two rounds. Then came Clarkes hardest job -- the phone call to Knox. Its one of the most difficult periods in the whole of my golfing career, Clarke said.Half of the European team will be playing their first Ryder Cup next month in HazeltineMasters champions Danny Willett, Chris Wood, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Andy Sullivan and Matt Fitzpatrick qualified automatically, along with four-time major winner Rory McIlroy, British Open champion Henrik Stenson, Olympic gold medalist Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia. That partly explains Clarkes desire for more balance to the team, and therefore his call for Westwood -- a longtime friend -- and Kaymer. It will be the 43-year-old Westwoods 10th straight Ryder Cup, while two-time major champion Kaymer has played in the last three Ryder Cups and made the putt that ensured Europe would retain the cup at Medinah in 2012. They will offer experienced voices in the team room.Because all our rookies are playing frequently in America now, its not quite what it used to be, Clarke said. That being said, the Ryder Cup is not like any other event.Clarke said Luke Donald -- another former No. 1 and a four-time Ryder Cup winner -- and Graeme McDowell would also have been in contention for a pick if their form had been better. In the end, it was a straight shootout between Knox and Pieters. The U.S-based Knox is a two-time winner on the U.S. PGA Tour this season, including at the Travelers Championship this month, and ranked No. 20 -- the sixth highest position for a European. His win at a WGC event in Shanghai last year didnt count toward Ryder Cup qualification because he wasnt a member of the European Tour at that stage. If he had been, Knox would be an automatic qualifier.Im very disappointed not to have made the team, Knox said. I feel like I deserve to be on the team, but it wasnt my call, obviously. I have to respect the decision he made and get on with it.Knox said Clarke and Ian Poulter called and urged him to play the Wyndham Championship, his last chance to earn world points. Fitzpatrick played the Czech Masters that week and finished fifth, meaning Knox would have needed to finish fourth at the PGA Tour event to move past him.Knox said to play the Wyndham Championship would have meant playing eight out of 10 weeks through the Ryder Cup and I probably would be burned out when I got to Hazeltine. You have the right to pick whoever you want, he said. I gave him that choice by not making the team outright.Pieters is a big-hitting Belgian who played college golf at Illinois and won the NCAA individual title in 2012 at Riviera. Clarke said he has always been a fan and that Pieters has the talent to go all the way to the top of the world. Its been a little bit crazy, Pieters said. I was playing well but the results werent there and I guess I had to step it up at the end. I cant wait to get on that plane and be with the team the whole week. Jullian Taylor Jersey . From filmmaker Nanette Burstein (On the Ropes), The Price of Gold revisits the saga that rocked the figure skating world ahead of the 1994 Lillehammer Olympic Winter Games: the assault on Nancy Kerrigan, and the plot that led its way back to her rival Tonya Harding. Marcell Harris Jersey . But Bourque, who has missed three games with a lower-body injury, wont be in the lineup when the Habs travel to Buffalo to take on the Sabres on Wednesday. . McCarthy, a player who played some games in the second tier for Wigan at the start of this season, would go on to shine inside Evertons midfield, outplaying the man he was brought in to replace, on one of the grandest stages in English football. On Saturday, it was fitting that Manchester Uniteds most recent dagger into the chest was delivered by Frenchman Yohan Cabaye, a wonderfully gifted central midfielder who put on an outstanding effort for Newcastle at Old Trafford. NEW YORK -- Novak Djokovics U.S. Open final against Stan Wawrinka on Sunday will be the Serbs third Grand Slam title match of 2016 and his seventh in the past eight majors. It is Djokovics 21st Grand Slam final in all, second in the history of mens tennis only to Roger Federers 28. And it gives Djokovic the chance to gain more ground in the championship count, too, of course: He can raise his trophy total to 13, which would place him alone in fourth place behind Federer (17), Rafael Nadal (14) and Pete Sampras (14).After a draining, and decidedly unusual, four-set victory over Gael Monfils in the semifinals Friday, when he got both shoulders massaged by a trainer, Djokovic looked forward to a bit of rest. Thats kind of rich, considering he has spent almost exactly half as much time on court as Wawrinka so far: a tad under 9 hours vs. slightly less than 18 hours.I have an extra day now to recover and get ready for the finals, which is, you know, where definitely I desire to be whenever I come to the Grand Slams, said Djokovic, the No. 1 seed and defending champion. I want to be able to put myself in position to fight for the trophy, and everything that has happened in the tournament so far is behind me now. My thoughts are only on Sundays match. As well they should be. For while No. 3 seed Wawrinka will be participating in only his third Grand Slam final, he won each of the other two. Plus, he has won each of his past 10 finals at all tournaments. And while he is only 4-19 against Djokovic over their careers, half of Wawrinkas victories came en route to his major titles, in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Australian Open and the final of the 2015 French Open.Stan is a big-match player, Djokovic acknowledged. He loves the big stage.Hes also something of a late bloomer.Wawrinka did not reach a Grand Slam semifinal until his 35th appearance in a major, at age 28.Now, a little more than five months past his 31st birthday, he can become the oldest U.S. Open champion since Ken Rosewall was 35 in 1970. Hed also be only the fifth man in the Open era with at least two major titles after 30 (his Swiss countryman and pal, Federer, only has one since turning that age). Kentavius Street Jersey. I know I have some ups and downs during the year. Im not playing my best tennis in every tournament. But Im trying to work as hard as I can to give me the chance to play well every time I step on the court, Wawrinka said after beating Kei Nishikori in a four-set semifinal. And in Grand Slams is where I want to play my best tennis, is where I want to be the better player, always find a way to find my game and to put everything together.Wawrinka, though, nearly departed Flushing Meadows last weekend. Thats when, in the third round against 64th-ranked Dan Evans, Wawrinka faced a match point in a fourth-set tiebreaker, saved it, and wound up winning in the fifth, repeatedly using whats become his trademark gesture: pointing an index finger to his temple.Whats that all about?Sometimes, I dont always find myself comfortable on the court and I have to fight with myself. So thats what Im focusing (on) here: to fight, to suffer, to accept to suffer, to accept that the player in front of me (is) playing better, he explained. And thats when Im happy with myself and proud of myself -- when I stay strong with what I want to do.Nothing he does on a court with his racket is as important as his smooth, one-handed backhand. When on-target, it might be the prettiest, and most effective, shot in all of tennis.Djokovic can lay claim to some superlatives, too. His return of serve ranks up there with the best ever. As do his body-twisting court coverage and ability to go from defense to offense just like that. This matchup will be Djokovics seventh U.S. Open final, and Wawrinkas first. In general, I know when I arrive in the final, Im ready to play my best tennis, and thats what Im looking for. Thats what Im trying to do, Wawrinka said. But ... when you play Novak, even playing your best tennis, you can also lose.---Follow Howard Fendrich on Twitter at NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys NFL China Cheap Jerseys China China NFL Jerseys ' ' '
