to pass around after defeating the Green Bay Packers 31-17 on Sunday Night Football. The team named eight different players as Practice Players of the Week Youth Dont'a Hightower Jersey , easily the most this year.DL Trent Harris earned the distinction for the second time this year. He was likely asked to play some combination of the Packers pass rush, like Clay Matthews III and Nick Perry.WR Phillip Dorsett is only 5’10, but he likely suited up as Davante Adams and/or Randall Cobb in practice. I have a hard time seeing Dorsett practicing like the 6’4 Marquez Valdes-Scantling or the 6’5 Equanimeous St. Brown.TE Stephen Anderson was likely the impressive-in-2013 tight end trio of Jimmy Graham, Lance Kendricks, and Marcedes Lewis.QB Brian Hoyer was Aaron Rodgers. Obviously. Hoyer helped the defense disguise some of their coverages so they could try and trick Rodgers.DL Frank Herron could have been the Packers elite defensive interior duo of Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark.LB Calvin Munson was probably the Packers linebackers Blake Martinez and Reggie Gilbert.DB David Jones could have played any number of the Packers defensive backs, from Tramon Williams or Josh Jones or Kentrell Brice or Jermaine Whitehead.CB J.C. Jackson would have been cornerbacks Jaire Alexander, Bashaud Breeland, and Josh Jackson.Congratulations!—Week 1: DL Trent Harris, OL James Ferentz, DB Keion Crossen, DL Geneo Grissom, DL Deatrich Wise Jr., DB J.C. Jackson.Week 7: RB Kenneth Farrow, WR Cordarrelle Patterson, OL James Ferentz, DB Nate Ebner, DL Frank Herron.Week 8: LB Calvin Munson , DL Derek Rivers, DB David Jones, WR Cordarrelle Patterson, OL Ted Karras Rob Gronkowski sat out this week against the Bears, and he clearly hasn’t been right for a few weeks, if at all this year. So what do the Patriots do with Gronk now? When healthy, he’s the best tight end in the game, and maybe the single most unstoppable player as well. But, he has a history of injuries lingering for him. Should the Patriots let him rest and try to heal and sacrifice now in an attempt to keep him healthy for the postseason?First off, this is why every other fan base hates us. The Patriots have played seven games and we’re already talking about what they should do in the playoffs. We’ve already penciled (more like sharpied) them in as the winner of the AFC East, and a contender in the AFC.Now, on to answering the question: I think the Patriots need to sit him out for as long as possible. I’m not sure what exactly that means in terms of how long he’s going to sit out, but there’s no reason to play him if he’s not healthy. New England’s offense continues to move the ball and score, even without his production. Add a healthy Gronk to what they already have on offense, and they’ll be nearly unstoppable. The biggest concern is the seeding. I know that Andy Reid’s teams almost always fall apart in the playoffs, but going to Arrowhead to play the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game is not something that I’d be overly confident about. Then there is just getting the bye. Right now the Patriots have the second best record in the AFC, but the Steelers , Bengals, Ravens, and Texans are all right behind them. It seems inconceivable that any of those teams will be able to catch them, but it’s at least worth remembering. If there’s even a chance that Gronk isn’t 100% for Monday night’s game in Buffalo, I don’t want him playing. Now, he is from Buffalo, and loves playing there, typically crushing the Bills, but I don’t care. Every year is the same in New England. If you don’t win the Super Bowl, the season is a failure. The last thing I want is Gronk running out of steam or being too hurt to be able to dominate in the playoffs.Yes, the Patriots have Edelman back, and they have Gordon now, but that’s even more of a reason to sit Gronkowski, in my opinion. You have a chance for a nearly unstoppable team with Brady at the helm. Don’t lose that because Gronk wants to hit some incentives during the regular season. Tell him you’ll pay him as if he reached everything if that will convince him, but do everything you can to make sure he’s healthy for the most important three games of the season. #84 WR Cordarrelle Patterson The New England Patriots currently have 88 players on their active roster. However , only 53 of them will be able to survive the cutdowns on September 1 and ultimately make the team. Over the course of the offseason, we take a look at the players fighting for those spots to find out who has the best chances of helping the Patriots recapture the Vince Lombardi Trophy.Today, the series continues with one of New England’s offseason additions.Name: Cordarrelle PattersonPosition: Wide receiverJersey number: 84Opening day age: 27Experience: 5Size: 6’2, 230 lbs.2017 review: Despite him earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors at kickoff returner in 2016, the Minnesota Vikings decided to let Cordarrelle Patterson hit the open market after the end of his rookie deal in 2017. It did not take long for the former first-round draft pick to find a new home: the Oakland Raiders signed Patterson to a two-year, $8.5 million contract – an investment that did not fully work out for the team.Like the Vikings, the Raiders gave Patterson plenty of opportunities to prove himself on both offense and in the kicking game. Serving as Oakland’s number four wide receiver , he was on the field for 42.7% of the team’s offensive snaps (430 of 1,080). A rotational and package-specific option, Patterson was used as both a pass catcher and a ball carrier to take advantage of the vision and athleticism that make him an elite kick returner. However, he failed to establish himself as a regular on the Raiders’ offense and therefore finished the season with a relatively modest 430 yards from scrimmage: Patterson caught 31 passes for 309 yards and received an additional 13 carries for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Solid numbers for a depth wide receiver, but not what is generally expected of a player carrying a $5.6 million salary cap hit.Once again, Patterson’s biggest contributions in terms of impacting field position came on special teams. Overall, he ran back 19 kicks during his 16 games last year Cheap Julian Edelman Jersey , for a combined 538 yards and an average of 28.3 yards per return. Just like on offense, his numbers were solid but could not quite live up to the expectations and price tag with which Patterson entered Oakland in free agency.2018 preview: With Patterson scheduled to hit the Raiders’ salary cap with $3.25 million in 2018, the team decided to place him on the trade market. Oakland found a willing trade partner in mid-March: the Patriots, who acquired Patterson and a sixth-round draft pick for a fifth-round selection – a logical move for New England to make after the team lost both their kickoff returner (Dion Lewis) and a rotational wideout (Danny Amendola) in free agency.Given his rather high cap number and the fact that the Patriots paid a relatively modest price to acquire him, Patterson was no lock to make the team when he joined it. Five months later, this outlook has changed quite a bit: while he has yet to flash his talents as a kickoff returner, the 27-year old received plenty of practice reps and preseason playing time at the wide receiver position. All the uncertainties surrounding the position and his solid performance this summer make Patterson a virtual lock to survive roster cuts. And while it remains to be seen how the team ultimately uses him during the regular season Cheap Ja'Whaun Bentley Jersey , his athleticism and versatility make for an intriguing chess piece for offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to use. And even though he will not be the second coming of Randy Moss, Patterson should turn out to be a solid pickup. If you’re a fan of field goals, Monday night’s game is the game for you.It is a field goal fest so far.The first half featured no touchdowns as Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski kicked three field goals and Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka kicked one. The Patriots lead 9-3 at halftime.Gostkowski made kicks of 25, 40 and 38 yards. The Patriots reached as deep as the Buffalo 4, 22 and 20 on their three scoring drives, with Lorenzo Alexander getting a sack on two of those to make New England settle for field goals. Gostkowski missed a 50-yard attempt with five seconds left in the half. The Patriots led 9-0 before Hauschka’s 47-yard kick, which came with 1:39 remaining in the second quarter.Derek Anderson completed 8 of 13 passes for 76 yards. LeSean McCoy had eight carries for 14 yards Kyle Van Noy Jersey , with a handful coming out of the Wildcat, and two catches for 26 yards. The Bills managed only 99 yards.Tom Brady has completed 20 of 31 passes for 202 yards. Julian Edelman has six catches for 68 yards, and James White has made eight catches for 60 yards. Receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, doubling as a running back with Sony Michel inactive, is the Patriots’ leading rusher with four carries for 9 yards.

BREAKING: 5th round pick Womens James White Jersey , release Corey Coleman The New England Patriots are “getting close on a deal” for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Browns announced their intention to release Gordon on Saturday, but half a dozen teams reached out with an interest to acquire the receiver via a trade. The 27-year-old receiver stands at 6’3, 224 pounds with 4.52s speed. He entered the NFL as a second round pick of the 2012 Supplemental Draft by the Browns, collecting 805 yards and 5 touchdowns as a rookie with Brandon Weeden as his quarterback.Gordon followed that up with an impossibly great sophomore season with 1,646 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns, and an additional 88 rushing yards, in 14 games with Weeden, Jason Campbell, and Brian Hoyer all starting multiple games.Unfortunately , Gordon has battled addiction his whole life and and he missed those two games with a suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. He was suspended for 10 games in 2014 for violating the same policy and didn’t play in 2015 and 2016 because of his addiction.Gordon returned to the field in week 13 of the 2017 season and gained a great 335 yards in a mere 5 games with Deshone Kizer at quarterback. Over 38 games with the Browns, Gordon has 3,194 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns. The Patriots have been interested in adding another wide receiver to the roster and were considering the return of Kenny Britt. Gordon has more upside and the Patriots could provide the perfect support system for him to continue on his path.Gordon has made huge personal strides and I wish him the best. If that best happens to come in a Patriots uniform, well, I won’t complain.UPDATE: The Patriots will acquire Gordon for a conditional 5th round pick. If Gordon is not active for 10 or more games, then the Browns will send the Patriots a late round pick as compensation, making the trade effectively a “pick swap.”This is a great deal for the Patriots. If Gordon’s healthy and active, then he’s totally worth a fifth round pick. If he’s not, then the Patriots just won’t keep him active and they’ll have traded down from what is likely the end of the fifth round into the top of the seventh round to kick the tires on Gordon. And there are multiple reports that Gordon is healthy enough to play on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, so get ready for his debut!Update: The Patriots released WR Corey Coleman to make space for Gordon. Swap one former Cleveland Brown for another.Patriots head coach Bill Belichick: Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes-Tyreek Hill connection can kill teams on short and long pass plays Tonight Womens Marcus Cannon Jersey , the New England Patriots will face their biggest challenge of the year when the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs come to town. Combining an explosive offensive attack with an opportunistic yet at times inconsistent defense, the Chiefs are sitting at 5-0 heading into their game against the 3-2 Patriots – a contest that will likely have an enormous impact on the AFC’s playoff picture even this early during the season.Naturally, New England needs to bring its A-game as the Chiefs pose problems on both sides of the football. In the latest episode of the Belestrator, head coach Bill Belichick illustrated just how those problems look like: Belichick and quarterback-turned-commentator took a look at Kansas City’s pass rush, and the team’s explosive passing game led by second-year passer Patrick Mahomes:Belichick and Zolak start by taking a look at Kansas City’s defense, led by linemen Chris Jones and Dee Ford. “[Jones] is long, quick, powerful, he can make plays with his power, with his quickness Womens Devin McCourty Jersey , with his pursuit; he bats balls, he’s a good pass rusher,” Belichick said about the Chiefs’ starting defensive tackle who is ranked as Pro Football Focus’ 22nd best player at his position this year.“He can ruin the game and so can Dee Ford,” Belichick continued. “This guy’s as fast as a pass rusher as we’ll see all year. He’s got good quickness.” Ford currently leads the Chiefs with 4.0 sacks and with fellow linebacker Justin Houston likely out tonight will play an even more important role when it comes to stopping Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense. “Those two guys cause a lot of negative plays for the Chiefs defense.”While Jones and Ford are without a doubt outstanding players, the main reason for Kansas City’s success so far in 2018 is the team’s offense led by MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes and explosive pass catchers Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. New England needs to find a way to slow the two talented receivers down today: the duo has combined for 55 catches this season, for 832 yards and six scores.“We’re dealing with a strong-armed quarterback, and a receiver with explosive speed that can run through any type of defense,” Belichick said about the Mahomes-Hill connection, which hooked up 27 times so far this year. “[Hill] can kill you on the short plays just as quickly as he can kill you on the long ones.”Kelce cannot be forgotten either, though. Arguably the NFL’s second best tight end behind the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski , the 29-year old leads Kansas City with 28 catches. “Kelce [is] really a go-to guy for them anywhere on the field but particularly in the red area and near the goal line,” said Belichick about him. “This guy’s a really good football player, especially in the red area, third down, and goal-line situations.”Belichick’s breakdown further confirms one thing: New England will have its hands full today.

Mike Williams is having a breakout season Mike Williams asserts himself as headline player in Chargers' offense - Eric Williams"He's going to continue to do this Youth Russell Okung Jersey ," said Rivers, pointing his hand upward when asked about Williams. "Gosh, he played big and strong, and made a handful of big plays, and obviously the touchdowns. He's going to continue to be more of a factor for us."Week 3 NFL Team of the Week - Gordon McGuinnessWilliams made a huge play on a 42-yard touchdown reception for the Chargers, showing the playmaking skills that saw the Chargers draft him in the first round a year ago. With 81 yards from 26 snaps in route, he ranked sixth among wide receivers with an average of 3.12 yards per route run.Chargers Sign Justin Jackson to Active Roster; Waive Detrez Newsome - Hayley ElwoodJackson was the Bolts’ seventh-round pick in this year’s draft out of Northwestern. He finished his career with the Wildcats with 42 touchdowns. Additionally, he was the school’s all-time leading rusher and ranks third all-time in the Big 10 with 6,289 yards.Upon Further Review: Five Lessons from the Rams Game - Ricky Henne“We didn't put enough pressure on the quarterback. I think in the first half (Goff) was completing about 90 percent of his passes鈥?We have to figure out a way to get pressure on the quarterback. That's what's missing right now.”WR Mike Williams emerging as big-play threat for Chargers - FOX Sports“His confidence is at an all-time high. He’s looking good,” coach Anthony Lynn said Monday. “Last year he was learning on the run because he wasn’t practicing a lot. He has been really consistent for us so far.”Gamecocks in the NFL: South Carolina players Week 3 roundup - Greg HadleyThe tackle he did make, however, was a highlight-reel play in the fourth quarter Youth Dan Feeney Jersey , as he juked around a Rams offensive lineman and dragged down Todd Gurley, arguably the league’s best running back, in the open field for a 5-yard loss.Social Media Information:BFTB Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBFTB Twitter: Follow @BFTB_ChargersThe Lightning Round Twitter: Follow @Lightning_RoundThe Lightning Round Facebook: Click here to like our pageBFTB Manager: Richard Wade: Follow @RichardWade Back-to-back lopsided losses have given Oakland five losses in six games. The Raiders have already traded away their best player and there are reports that other key pieces could be dealt soon.Very little has gone right in the first season of coach Jon Gruden's second stint in Oakland. But as the Raiders left town for a bye week, Gruden had a message to his legion of critics calling 2018 a lost season in Oakland."I'll say this, we aren't tanking anything," Gruden said Tuesday. "I hear the hatred out there, some of the rumors that we are tanking it to get a first-round pick or a higher pick. We are not getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning to tank it. Ain't nobody tanking it. I don't know who wrote that or who said that or who thinks that, but that isn't the case here. We are going to continue to work hard, continue to build our team and that was part of the message."A week off might be just what the Raiders need to change the course of a difficult season that has left the team battered physically and frustrated by the mounting losses.Oakland blew second-half leads the first three weeks to start 0-3 and then responded from a comeback, overtime win over Cleveland by getting outscored 53-13 the past two weeks in losses to the Chargers in Los Angeles and the Seattle Seahawks in London. The Raiders released linebacker Derrick Johnson on Tuesday and promoted Jason Cabinda from the practice squad to take his place but other moves could be coming with receiver Amari Cooper and safety Karl Joseph among the players reportedly available in trades.Gruden already dealt away one of general manager Reggie McKenzie's former first-round picks when he traded star edge rusher Khalil Mack to Chicago for a package of draft picks a week before the season. With the status of Cooper and Joseph in question and 2017 first-rounder Gareon Conley getting no defensive snaps last week, Gruden is dismantling the team McKenzie built.More moves could be coming over the bye week."We're still looking at the roster. We're looking around the league to find means to get better," Gruden said. "Reggie and I had a long meeting yesterday. I know that's a shock to some people. They don't think we have any meetings. I'm telling you , we're working hard to solidify this roster every day and improve ourselves and get the right people on the field. Those are decisions that we're looking at. We're going to continue to try to develop our young players. We're going to stay on the gas pedal and go as hard as we can."The frustration is mounting in the locker room with cornerback Rashaan Melvin expressing frustration this week over his lack of playing time and saying he will go back to his old technique of playing rather than play the style defensive coordinator Paul Guenther wants."I haven't talked to him yet, no. I'm sure I will," Gruden said. "I know Paul Guenther did. I heard there was a Twitter report out there. Melvin is on his seventh team, I think. He's had different techniques. Maybe he's confused, I don't know. I'll talk to him. But he has to play better. He's in a competitive situation. Perhaps he's frustrated, and I can't blame him."The main priority over the bye will be getting healthy. Many of the struggles the past two weeks can be attributed to starting left guard Kelechi Osemele being out with a knee injury, right tackle Donald Penn on injured reserve with a groin injury and rookie left tackle Kolton Miller slowed by a knee injury that has contributed to him allowing six sacks in two weeks, according to Pro Football Focus.Gruden hopes to get Osemele back for the game Oct. 28 against Indianapolis and Miller should be healthier, which will be good news for quarterback Derek Carr. Carr was sacked six times against Seattle and had little time to get the ball downfield. He threw just one pass more than 10 yards downfield and had 140 of his 142 yards passing come after the catch."It was obvious that it affected the ability to drop back and look around and throw the ball," Gruden said. "''We got to block better than that. We got to play better than that. That certainly had an impact. No doubt."NOTES: RB Marshawn Lynch has a groin strain. Gruden said he would have an update on the severity next week. ... DL Frostee Rucker (neck) could be back next game. ... Cooper and WR Seth Roberts remain in concussion protocol. ... Joseph (hamstring) also could return against the Colts.

at the performances of some first-year head coaches who keep on losing. Others are campaigning to get rid of an incumbent.Yet there's an impressive number of men doing terrific jobs who deserve to be praised as we approach the halfway mark of the NFL schedule.Try Pete Carroll in Seattle. Jay Gruden in Washington (while his older brother's return has been a fiasco in Oakland). Ron Rivera in Carolina. Anthony Lynn in Los Angeles. Matt Nagy in Chicago. And Bill O'Brien in Houston. The key measurement with that half-dozen is talent. More specifically Youth Mike Pouncey Jersey , none of those six has a ton of talent at his disposal, though all have some star players. But Gruden has a first-place team. So does O'Brien.Rivera's Panthers look like a solid bet for the playoffs. Lynn's Chargers are 5-2 and in good position to be in the postseason. Nagy's Bears are vastly improved over John Fox's group of 2017, and Carroll — the only Super Bowl winner in this group — might be doing his best job in a highly distinguished career with the Seahawks. In a year when so many coaches are being lambasted, from newcomers Pat Shurmur in New Jersey to Steve Wilks in Arizona to newcomer/oldtimer Gruden in Oakland, it's worthwhile and refreshing to take a look at some jobs well done. Very well done.PETE CARROLLWhile the Seahawks aren't in full-blown rebuild mode, they are remaking the roster and reaffirming themselves as a hard-hitting, run-first (and effectively), aggressive squad that doesn't back down. Their victory at Detroit was their best in a 4-3 season during which they started 0-2.Carroll is fitting in new parts, particularly in the secondary and at running back. He's getting strong leadership from Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin, but lots of credit needs to be thrown his way for doing quite a bit with less than usual.BILL O'BRIENWhen the Texans dropped their first three games, people were placing O'Brien on a Lone Star hotseat. Now, he's sitting atop the AFC South with a club that should win that division of underachievers. Not that Houston is underachieving. The poor start had much to do with returning players such as the Texans' best, J.J. Watt, and quarterback Deshaun Watson not being back to full strength. Now they are. This is a balanced team when all the parts are available. O'Brien doesn't panic, he instructs well, and his is a team on the rise.JAY GRUDENIs Washington the most-talented team in the NFC East? Nope.Is it the most consistent? Nope. What the Redskins do is protect the ball (just five giveaways, trailing only Atlanta's four), stymie opposing offenses, and rely on some excellent veterans such as Ryan Kerrigan, Josh Norman and Alex Smith. Plus, Gruden was willing to reach out to Adrian Peterson, who has shown he has plenty left — so much so he might be the front-runner for Comeback Player of the Year. While there's turmoil in Dallas and New York, and rumblings fostered by the mediocre performance by the defending champion Eagles, all is going smoothly in D.C. Credit GrudenRON RIVERAYes, in 2015 he guided the Panthers to the NFC title. He still has Cam Newton and Greg Olsen and Luke Kuechly. But these Panthers, who have beaten the Eagles, Bengals and Ravens, aren't at the level of the team that fell to the Broncos in the Super Bowl 2 陆 years ago. Their offensive line is shaky, their receivers are inconsistent, and they've shuffled their secondary. They're also 5-2 and Rivera has one of the best relationships, on and off the field, with his players of any coach in football.ANTHONY LYNNLynn's best defensive player, Joey Bosa, has been sidelined all year. The Chargers have relied on rookies — safety Derwin James is among the top defensive newcomers in the league — and a few other youngsters, and it's working to the tune of nine picks to three allowed, 18 sacks to 10 allowed.Philip Rivers is having one of his best seasons of a borderline Hall of Fame career, in great part because Lynn gives his quarterback lots of freedom. You hear criticism that the Chargers haven't beaten anyone good. Well, a large number of teams would love their 5-2 record.MATT NAGYEvery week, the Bears play an opponent tough. Their defense is rugged Youth Denzel Perryman Jersey , particularly if Khalil Mack is healthy. Their offense is developing, not rapidly but steadily. Where Mitchell Trubisky has progressed in his second season and first under Nagy is where the Jets, Cardinals, Bills and Browns hope their first-rounders of this year get to in 2019.He's aggressive with the ball and without it, playing to win rather than playing not to lose. Whether he can keep the Bears in contention in the rough NFC North is problematic, but they certainly are headed in the right direction — and in an entertaining fashion. In Tom Telesco we trust for the future Let’s get this out of the way, losing stinks. It doesn’t matter if it’s against an in-division opponent or the worst team in the league, if you lose, it’s a terrible time to be apart of the fan base. Take the Houston Texans for example. Hyped up to become the NFL’s next top-level offense under second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson, fans are prepared for Armageddon to begin with Watson looking less like a capable starter and more like a chicken running with his head cut off. Let’s look at the San Francisco 49ers. Expected to compete for a playoff position, their hopes are long gone with the loss of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo tearing his ACL last Sunday. Sure, they have decent weapons in the form of wide receivers Marquise Goodwin and Dante Pettis, but if C.J. Beathard is your starting quarterback, you’re pretty much getting another Nathan Peterman situation. The Los Angeles Chargers might have fallen to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday in the first “Battle of Los Angeles” series, but it could have been worse. Falling on the sour end of a 35-23 defeat, the Chargers offense still managed to post 356 yards of total offense and find the end zone on three separate occasions, one on the ground and twice through the air. While the defense did allow 521 total yards, there still were some bright spots moving forward. Once again 2018 first round selection Derwin James is proving to the NFL that he should have been off the board in the top 10 thanks to his nine tackles and one interception performance. Yes, losing to the Rams, a cross-town rival is going to get fans riled up about the current status of the team. The Chargers are sitting at 1-2 after many predicted them to be this season’s breakout team. Last season, they were projected to be the breakout team as well. They started the year 0-4 before their team started to improve. Is it hard to be a Chargers fan? Perhaps. It doesn’t help to hear every offseason “this is our year” or “ this is where we turn things around.” While the 9-7 2017 roster did rapidly improve under second-year head coach Anthony Lynn, it’s pretty much playoff or bust to prove that the winds of losing seasons are blowing in the right direction. The team’s two losses came to two high quality teams, making the sting a little better. The first loss coming to AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs certainly won’t help Los Angeles in the hunt for the playoffs, but consider who they played. So far this season, second-year gunslinger Patrick Mahomes has been the face of the NFL. In just three starts, the former Red Raider has completed 66.7% of his passes for 896 yards with 13 touchdowns and a QB rating of 137.4. Add in one of the most talented arsenals in football with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce, and Sammy Watkins, and it’s easy to see why Mahomes is the favorite to take home this year’s Most Valuable Player award according to you have the other team in Hollywood who genuinely have been nothing short of a perfect picture. Spending multiple draft picks to bolster their roster with established talent, the Rams might be football’s version of the Golden State Warriors with how complete they are. While there is a possibility they could be without both starting cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters for several games, their offense is dynamic and intricate enough to keep them in contention every week. So the Chargers are 1-2, but through it all at least there’s promise moving forward. With younger players beginning to show their growth on the field, credit has to be given to Chargers GM Tom Telesco on a job well done throughout the draft process. In four of his last five draft classes, the sixth-year GM has made considerable investments to building the Chargers from the laughing stock of the NFL, to legitimate playoff contenders. Yes, they are still playoff contenders. It’s week 3, not week 12. Everyone take a chill pill before writing your opinions in the comments below. Looking back at Telesco’s last five first-round picks, his first overall selection has been his only bust. Former Alabama offensive tackle turn guard D.J. Fluker was a nightmare in pass protection looked horrendous getting off the line of scrimmage. That being said, looking back at most offensive linemen from Alabama , that seems to be the trend. Jacksonville Jaguars Cam Robinson might be the exception if he can adequately heal from his torn ACL suffered in week 2, but the likes of Andre Smith, Cyrus Kouandjio, Chance Warmack and Arie Kouandjio are nothing short of depth chart fillers. Plain and simple; Nick Saban runs his linemen into the ground, pretty much ruining their careers before they have a chance to begin. Since then, Telesco’s first round picks have all been hits on the positive column. Cornerback Jason Verrett would be one of the league’s most productive cornerbacks if not for his consistent trips to the injured reserve each season. It’s hard to call him a bust for his on the field play. When able to suit up, the former first rounder has collected 72 total tackles, 19 pass deflections, five interceptions and a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2015. He would likely go down as a player that never was rather than a bust. 2014 first round selection Melvin Gordon has become one the league’s most productive backs. Last week, the former Wisconsin star collected 84 yards of total offense and scoring on an 11-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. This season, Gordon ranks 14th among all active running backs on the ground with 172 yards and two touchdowns. As a receiving weapon, he ranks 4th among all runners with 144 receiving yards and another pair of touchdowns, giving him 316 yards of total offense, 8th among all backs. 2016 first rounder Joey Bosa is still waiting to make his return following his three-game absence with a foot injury. The back to back double-digit sack artist has been one of the league’s best pass rushers since his holdout during the 2016 offseason. Bosa might not be at full gear once he plays, but there’s a reason the Chargers pass rush has been widely inconsistent, their best players in on the bench. Then you 2017 first-rounder Mike Williams, easily the biggest breakout star from the 2017 class. Missing a majority of his rookie campaign due to injury, Sunday’s outing was one to remember for the Clemson product. Williams would lead the team in receptions with four catches for 81 yards and a pair of scores. Both times Williams was able to find the end zone, the six-foot-three-inches receiver showed off his quality speed as well as his ability to win in tight coverage to take one to the house. Williams now has 11 receptions on 15 targets for 189 yards and three touchdowns to start the 2018 season. The second-year receiver will need one catch next week against the 49ers to break his rookie numbers for receptions. James is already a star in the NFL, and some consider to be the next great safety. They wouldn’t be wrong as his consistency in coverage along with great form tackling and pass rushing ability has been all full-force since week one against Kansas City. James ranks second among all Chargers defensive players with 19 tackles leads the team in sacks (2), pass deflections (4) and interceptions (1).But it’s more than just the first round slam dunks Telesco has made for the team, it’s also his contributors on days two and three. The hopeful plan moving forward is to start both 2017 day two selections of Forrest Lamp and Dan Fenny up the middle as both guards. Lamp is still recovering from his torn ACL but could be the boost the Chargers offensive line needs once healthy. First-year linebacker Kyzir White is also making a name for himself as the team’s starting WILL. White graded out as Pro Football Focus’s fourth highest graded linebacker for his week two performance against the Buffalo Bills. Last Sunday in Los Angeles, White finished third on defense among tackles with seven total stops and one pass breakup. Tight end Hunter Henry was a sound second-round selection and would be a crucial part of the Chargers offense if not for a torn ACL.There’s certainly room for improvement though, mostly in the secondary. Both cornerbacks Trevor Williams and Desmond King had rough outings against the Rams in coverage and will need to recuperate fast. Still, both players (an undrafted free agent and 5th round selection) have shown promise in their skills during the 2017 season. Perhaps the biggest breakout star comes in the form running back Austin Ekeler. Calling him a running back, however, might be a bit too, however. The second-year running back out of Western State has collected 163 rushing yards and 132 receiving yards, making him one of the league’s most versatile weapons out of the backfield. Everyone on both sides of the ball will need to step up to pull out a victory and head into week five as a .500 ball club. The offensive line is still struggling, but that’s more related to injury instead poor play. The unit has only allowed five sacks this offseason, the seventh least among all active ball clubs. The Chargers lost to two quality teams and only fell short by a combined 22 points to two of the three undefeated squads left in the NFL. Let’s look at the glass half-full instead of “Jesus here we are again mode.” Both games were going to be tough wins without a complete unit. It’s not like they are the Texans who should be sitting at 2-1 but now are looking to salvage their season with a must-win showdown on Sunday. Telesco has done a fantastic job drafting players who can contribute to this team day 1. Without the likes of Gordon, Williams, James, Ekeler, and White just to name a few, who knows what the Chargers status would be heading into week 4. It’s okay to be upset with a slow start, but hold on Chargers nation, so long as Telesco is calling the shots, it should pan out in the long-run.

Jason Gillespie, Yorkshires head coach, will be leaving the club at the end of the 2016 season to return to his native Australia. Adidas Ultra Boost Sale .Gillespie, who was appointed in November 2011, helped guide the club from the second division to back-to-back Championship titles in 2014 and 2015, with the club firmly in the hunt for a third title following last weeks victory over Nottinghamshire at Scarborough. In the course of 76 Championship fixtures at the helm, he suffered just five defeats.Yorkshire had hoped that Gillespie would stay for at least another year, and he had intended to reflect on the matter for a few months upon returning to Australia at the end of the English season. But after defeat to Surrey in the Royal London Cup semi-final on Sunday, he advised the Yorkshire board of his decision. The announcement, which had been anticipated for much of the season, comes after Gillespie took up a contract to coach the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash, and his wife, Anna and their four children have recently returned to live back in Australia. The club would like to place on record its thanks to Jason, read a club statement. The focus will now be very much on the remaining four County Championship fixtures, beginning with Wednesdays trip to the Ageas Bowl to face Hampshire, and on securing the first Championship treble seen at Headingley since the 1960s.Martyn Moxon, Yorkshires director of cricket, will not begin the search for Gillespies replacement until the end of the current season. The seeds suggest Tsonga is the favorite, but Anderson had his best Grand Slam showing last year at the US Open, where he reached the quarterfinals, a run that included a win against Andy Murray. Tsonga has not played well since Wimbledon. But after his last match, he said the small imperfections in his game have been fixed.No. 7 Marin Cilic vs. No. 26 Jack Sock, second match on Louis Armstrong (Watch)Cilic is perhaps the last player anyone wants to run into right now. The 2014 US Open champ thrives on the hard courts of New York. Plus, hes coming off an impressive title run at the Western & Southern Open two weeks ago. Cilic has been broken just twice in his first two matches at the US Open this year. As for Sock, after a thrilling five-set win against fellow American Taylor Fritz in his opener, he settled in nicely. On Wednesday, Sock dismantled Mischa Zverev in less than 90 minutes.Ryan Harrison vs. Marcos Baghdatis, second match on Court 17 (Watch)Once the front-runner to be the Next Big Thing in tennis, Harrison had fallen on hard times, toiling in the anonymity of Challenger events. But Wednesday, he scored the biggest victory of his career, a four-set win against No. 5 and Wimbledon runner-up Milos Raonic. Harrison entered the US Open ranked a lowly No. 120 and made the main field only by qualifying. He credits his mental maturity as one of the reasons for his rebound. His opponent, Baghdatis, is equally interesting. One of the most charismatic pllayers on tour, the Cypriot was also one of the games highly touted future stars; in 2006, he made the Australian Open final but hasnt delivered anything close to that performance since. Adidas Ultra Boost China Wholesale. Baghdatis beat Harrison in their only previous encounter, the 2012 Brisbane International.No. 13 Johanna Konta vs. No. 24 Belinda Bencic, second match on the Grandstand (Watch)No question Konta has to be worried about her physical state after a frightening incident Wednesday. Midway through her match on a hot, humid day, the Brit began to hyperventilate and ultimately collapsed to the ground, shaking and shivering. After a lengthy delay, Konta recovered and won. She is hopeful that with some TLC, Ill be good to go. On Friday, she will face Bencic, who has had a dismal summer. In her previous five events, she won only a single match. However, Bencic is coming off an impressive win against Andrea Petkovic on Wednesday.No. 20 John Isner vs. Kyle Edmund, fourth match on Louis Armstrong Stadium (Watch)The big question for Isner wont be whether darts will be flying off his racket or his desire to thrill the New York crowd, but rather how his legs will hold up. In two matches, the 6-foot-10 American has been on court for 6 hours, 21 minutes over nine sets. He was lucky to get by Frances Tiafoe in his opener, and his second match, against Steve Darcis, was a physical struggle from the beginning. It wont get easier for Isner. His next opponent, Edmund, is responsible for taking out No. 13 Richard Gasquet on Monday. Isner beat Edmund in the second round of the French Open earlier this year.No. 2 Angelique Kerber vs. CiCi Bellis, second night match on Arthur Ashe Stadium (Watch)? What a fairy-tale story it would be if 17-year-old Bellis could upset the No. 2 player in the world. Bellis loves the energy from the New York crowd. She has a growing legion of fans who call themselves Team CiCi. Its not the first time the California teen has stolen the spotlight in New York; two years ago, she stunned former Aussie Open finalist Dominika Cibulkova in the first round. "Im in a really good position for tomorrow," Scott said.NEW YORK - The Blue Jays misery at Yankee Stadium continued with Wednesdays 4-2 loss. Toronto is 0-9 in the Bronx this season, with only Thursday afternoons series finale against the Yankees remaining. R.A. Dickey took the loss, tossing eight innings of four-run ball for a complete game. The dagger was a two out, two-run home run by Alfonso Soriano in the eighth, which broke a 2-2 tie. Here are some post-game notes and thoughts: REYES EJECTED Jose Reyes was ejected in the second inning of Wednesday nights game for arguing a called third strike. It marked Reyes first ejection of the season and the 10th time in 2013 a Blue Jays player or coach has been given the heave ho. “For me, to be honest, I looked at it on the video, I thought the three strikes he called on me I thought were balls,” said Reyes. “Hes the umpire. He knows what hes doing back there. Maybe, like I said, I overreacted throwing my helmet down. I never do that but sometimes its just the way stuffs going.” Mark DeRosa replaced Reyes and played second base. Munenori Kawasaki shifted from second to shortstop. ICHIRO GETS 4,000TH PROFESSIONAL HIT Yankees right fielder Ichiro Suzukis first inning single on Wednesday was the 4,000th hit of his professional baseball career. “You never want to be the guy that gives up the milestone,” said Dickey. “At least I dont. Maybe some people do. I certainly dont. That being said, what an incredible achievement and the manner in which hes done it is equally as impressive. The longevity, the endurance, the durability.” Dickey was Ichiros teammate in 2008 with the Seattle Mariners. Ichiro had 1,278 hits while playing for Orix in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB – Japan) and has amassed 2,722 hits with Seattle and New York in Major League Baseball. His 2,722 MLB hits are one more than Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig amassed. In 20004, Ichiro set a single season record with 262 hits. Cheap Authentic Yeezys For Sale. “It couldnt happen to a more professional hitter,” said Dickey. IZTURIS HOBBLING Maicer Izturis sprained left ankle swelled as he slept and he was seen limping, unable to place any weight on the heel of his foot, in the clubhouse before Wednesdays game. The injury occurred in the fifth inning of the night cap of Tuesdays double header. Izturis landed awkwardly on first base and he ran out a ground ball. He stayed in the game defensively for one more half-inning but had trouble moving from side to side and was removed in the sixth. The Blue Jays are hoping to avoid putting Izturis on the disabled list but may be left with no choice if there is no appreciable improvement in the near term. SATURDAYS STARTER The Blue Jays still have not named a starter for Saturdays game in Houston. Does the club call up a youngster like Marcus Stroman, who would make his major league debut? How about Sean Nolin, whod be looking to bounce back after his first career major league start on May 24 when he gave up six runs in 1 1/3 innings against Baltimore. Toronto also could turn to a veteran, like Chien-Ming Wang. Manager John Gibbons says he intends to keep Mark Buehrle and R.A. Dickey on regular rest for the remainder of the season, which means Buehrle will pitch on Sunday and Dickey will open the next home stand, against the Yankees on Monday. SPIELBERG, Austria -- Sergio Perez says his suspension failure during qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix was strange but is not convinced it is all down to the Red Bull Rings kerbs.Perez was one of three drivers who suffered a suspension failure on Saturday -- all of which happened while drivers were riding the kerbs at different parts of the circuit. Photos show that Perezs right rear suspension failed during the right-hand Turn 1, which he says makes the incident even more unusual.Thats why its so strange, there are a lot of strange pictures [of the incident], he said. We cannot blame everything on the kerb and thats why we are still analysing and trying to get on top of that. There are occasions when we will never get the final answer, but hopefully we will see what has caused the issue.Ive been on that kerb and many drivers have been on that kerb. Many who have followed Tony Romo closely will tell you the Dallas Cowboys quarterback gets a bad rap. Cheap Chicago Cubs Jerseys . Theyll say his reputation for making the killer mistake is outdated and overblown. They have a point, but only to a point. As Romo recovers from his latest injury, I keep flashing back to what a veteran coach said several weeks ago as we watched video of the plays that left the Cowboys QB with serious injuries in previous seasons. The coach kept imploring Romo to get rid of the football as these plays unfolded on the video monitor. Just throw it, Tony!Coaches agree that Romo is exceptionally savvy and resourceful, but they also know he has a hard time giving up on plays, and that leads to mistakes and injuries that hurt his team. Its why Romo was going to headline this column about the most debated quarterbacks from my 2016 QB Tiers survey, even before his latest mishap. Although a few QBs such as Jay Cutler and Eli Manning generated multiple votes across more than two tiers, the arguments surrounding Romo and Cam Newton were fresher and more compelling. We break those out here, supplemented with the harshest criticisms and highest praise heaped upon the two QBs from some of the 42 league insiders surveyed for the project.Debating Romo2016 Tiers standing: 11th with a 2.17 average. Romo got one first-tier vote, 34 second-tier votes and seven third-tier votes.Harshest criticisms: A QB coach said Romo plays every play as though the Cowboys are down six points in the final two minutes with no timeouts remaining, a mindset that puts Dallas in difficult situations. This coach cited as a prime example the way Romo played while tossing two pick-sixes in the first half of a Thanksgiving Day defeat to Carolina last season. Discount MLB Jerseys For Sale . FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Mark Richts arrival comes without fanfare. Around 100 kids are scattered across the football fields at Mills Pond Park, black mesh jerseys and white helmets with a familiar U logo (adjusted slightly from the bottom to form an H) labeling them as Hurricanes, but the appearance of the real Canes head coach hardly creates a stir. Now, he and his wife, Katharyn, can walk from their home in Coconut Grove, down palm-tree lined streets to eat dinner at a busy restaurant without ever being recognized. Its nice to finally be anonymous from time to time, but Richts visit to this park is about making introductions, about being noticed. The kids here range from kindergarten to junior high, some frames too small for the oversized helmets strapped to their heads and a few more who might fit nicely with the walk-on linemen on Richts roster at Miami.Bennie Blades, the organizer of this youth league and a former All-American at Miami, motions to one of the boys at the end of a line of older kids stretching along the sideline of one of the fields. Hes the biggest of the group, pushing 6 feet and maybe 200 pounds. You see that big boy? Blades shouts at Richt. Hes 9 years old.Richt grins, shakes his head.Slowly, some of the older kids begin to take notice of the guy in the green Miami T-shirt snapping photos with their coaches.Thats the coach at The U, one says to his friend, but both boys are too nervous to approach Richt.Others arent so reticent. One boy pulls out his phone and shows Richt videos of his game tape. Richt watches politely then snaps a selfie with the kid.Theres a kid who attended Richts camp during the summer at Miami, where attendance wasnt quite as high as initially hoped, but the kid loved it. Hes glad to see Richt again.Another approaches confidently and informs Richt hes a kicker. He used to play soccer but found he was much better at booting field goals.Theres talent here, and thats what drew Richt to Mills Pond and more than a dozen other parks around Miami in the past few months. Each Thursday, he hops in the car, drives to another stop -- sometimes with an assistant coach or two; sometimes with a few players -- and he sells Miami to kids who werent born the last time the Hurricanes were relevant on the national stage. The next superstar recruit is here somewhere, and Richt wants him at Miami. He watched running backs go through Oklahoma drills and cheers them on with a repeated atta boy for each one. He shakes hands with parents, says hes glad to meet them. He takes pictures with anyone who asks. Every new fan matters if the Hurricanes want to keep building, expanding.By the end, Tolbert Bain is ecstatic. Hed helped create this plan to overlap Richts presence at Miami with Miamis presence in the community. Bain played at Miami and is involved in area youth leagues. He knew it would be a perfect fit.Itll take time for the plan to bear fruit, but Bain sees it, off in the distance. The kids at this park and the others Richt has visited, theyll be the ones on the field when Miami is really back .Whats Nick going to say? Bain jokes with another coach, referring to Nick Saban, the Alabama coach whos swiped his share of South Florida talent in recent years. Nickll be complaining about this.***It wasnt so long ago that Miami didnt need a sales pitch from the coach. The U used to be cool, its roster filled with local talents who grew up dreaming of becoming Hurricanes. Howard Schnellenberger, who coached Richt in college, called it The State of Miami, a virtual wall built around the area that insured anyone who was good enough to play for The U wanted to go there. In the past decade, however, the wall has come down. Saban and Jimbo Fisher and Jim McElwain poach a hefty contingent of the areas best players. Until this year, Richt was doing it for Georgia. When Richt takes center stage, more than 100 youth players and their families eyes focus on him. He says he wants to build a relationship with the community, wants them to know he was involved. And the other reason Im here is a selfish one, he says. Its called recruiting. This gets a big laugh from the parents, but the kids are transfixed. When he asks later how many want to play college football, every one raises his hand. Richts read the papers. He knows youth football is on the decline other places, but not here. Then Richt polls his audience again. Whats the first thing hes looking for in a recruit? The kids yell out what they assume he wants to hear: Grades. No, Richt grins. First thing I want is talent. This gets an even bigger laugh from the crowd, but hes serious.Richt knows Miamis history. Hes from Boca Raton, Florida, and he played at Miami. His old teammates still call him Boca, even if he hadnt been a regular there in three decades before taking this job in December. When Richt was at Miami, he shared a depth chart with Jim Kelly and Vinny Testaverde. The year after his departure, Bernie Kosar started at QB. And in the two decades that followed, more NFL talent flowed through the Miami locker room than any school in the country. Then came the decline. Miami joined the ACC in 2004 and is yet to play for a conference championship. In the 1980s and 90s, the Hurricanes were a constant foil for the blue bloods of college football. Now, theyre on a six-game losing streak to rival Florida State, this Saturdays opponent (8 p.m. ET, ABC ). The U on the helmet used to mean something, but in recent years, former Miami stars have publicly lamented the direction of the program and been forced to the periphery, voices unheard inside the football offices. What the program lost was the sense of ownership, said Luther Campbell, a musician, youth coach, mentor and unabashed Miami fan. [At Miamis peak], it was personal. Everybody felt ownership in it. It became our team. It was Miami -- all of Miami.Theres something unique about The U in that way. The campus, the university, the football program -- its part of the fabric of the city. For kids growing up in neighborhoods from Boca Raton to Liberty City, The U is the homme team. Cheap Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys. This is the citys team, the purest representation of South Florida in the sports world, said Manny Diaz, Miamis defensive coordinator and son of the citys former mayor. We love the Heat and the Marlins and the Dolphins, but more often than not, their players come from other places. Miami football represents the skill level of South Florida. Thats our grass roots. So Richt came up with the plan -- not just to inundate the high schools in a desperate attempt to find players for the Class of 2017 but to build a bridge to the future. Hes playing a long game. That, too, is a statement. Richt had sworn hed never coach anywhere after Georgia. Why would he want to? Hed put down roots. But when he was shown the door after a 9-3 season in 2015, Miami came calling, and the lure of his other home -- the place he grew up -- was strong. Were either in or were out, he told Katharyn, and if were in, its going to take a lot of juice. Some observers wondered how much juice Richt had. At 56 years old, hed already spent a lifetime in coaching, and a devout Christian, he had passions beyond football. For Richt, there was no question. He wasnt riding off into the sunset. He wanted to build something again, and these park visits are a reminder hes in it for the long haul.Id do this either way, Richt said of his park trips, but in my view, its building for the future. I plan to finish my coaching career [at Miami].Its been 33 years since Richt was Boca. Its been 13 years since Miami won 10 games. And it might be 10 more years before some of these kids send their tape off to Richt, hoping hell see enough talent to offer them a scholarship to The U. But whos counting? The way Campbell sees it, Richt has always been a Miami guy, and The U has always been the place Miami kids wanted to play. Its more like a house with the lights off, Campbell said. People know the house is there, but they dont know if anybodys home. Coach Richt is just cutting the lights back on.***Richt has plenty to do around Miamis football offices, to be sure. Hes back calling plays, something he hasnt done routinely in a decade, and hes selling the program to boosters, too. Miami needs the money, needs improved facilities like the indoor practice field that will break ground soon. Richt donated $1 million of his own money to get that deal done. But its more than football for Richt. Hes a man of faith and family and, here in Miami, he feels a little distanced from both. Two days after the Mills Pond Park visit, Richts Hurricanes would travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech. Katharyn had gone early. Georgia, in so many ways, is still home. Richts entire family still lives in Athens. During his first spring on the job at Miami, Katharyn was finishing a nursing degree at UGA, and Richt was living alone in an efficiency lent to him from former school president Donna Shalala. His kids, whod been fixtures in the halls at Georgia during weekly Family Night festivities, are all grown, living their own lives now (though his oldest son, Jon, is on staff at Miami as QBs coach). There was nobody waiting for me at home, Richt said, so I just stayed busy with work. The church programs and charity work hed prioritized in Athens hadnt lost importance to Richt, but now hes 700 miles away and has an entirely new community in need of attention. One of the reasons youth football remains so popular in Miami is because those parks are the safest spots for so many of these kids. Just a few minutes after Richt arrived, Blades got a call on his cell phone. Thered been gunshots reported not far from the park -- probably nothing to worry about. The kids here are safe.Tyler James has been playing youth ball for four years. Hes already a huge Miami fan. Canes wide receiver Stacy Coley goes to his church, and hes given James a signed poster and encouraged him to stick with football. Its life skills, teamwork, partnerships, James mother, Tiffany Warren, said. His team looks out for him.Shes flipping through photos of her sons last game on her cell phone, a Miami Hurricane umbrella at her side. Football, for their family, means something.Inside Mills Pond Park, its easy to see why. Dozens of parents beamed with pride as their kids ran sprints and worked through drills. One mom sold pink Hurricanes towels in an effort to raise money for a breast cancer charity. As the clouds over the park cleared, a rainbow appeared -- stretching from one football field to the next, and Richt stopped and admired the beauty. He wants to point these young fellas in the right direction, Bain said. Every time you turn on the TV here, all you see is shootings, and its young guys who are involved. Hes looking to do something to inspire them, keep them out of trouble. In his speech to the kids, Richt did, in fact, preach the importance of grades. That was No. 2 on his list. First he wants to see the talent, then the grades. Theyll need both. And whats the third thing? Richt said, initiating a new round of murmuring from the assembled masses. Did I hear someone say attitude?Attitude, one of the kids yelled out, as if it had just occurred to him. This pitch is easy. The kids want to learn. They want to be inspired. Richt sees that.In this crowd, one or two of these kids will grow up big and fast and strong. And just maybe, theyll remember the time Miamis coach came to visit them at the park, and theyll want to play for him. The rest of them -- they could be anything. Richt hopes theyll remember his visit, too. He wants them to be something that matters, not another name on the TV news when something awful happens in these neighborhoods.Richt asks the kids to take off their helmets, wrap arms around their teammates and pray, and a number of parents shake their heads in approval and offer a smattering of Amens. At Georgia, all of this made Richt a divisive figure. Sure, hes a man of faith ... but visiting a park during a game week? Maybe he was just too nice a guy for the job, too concerned with things outside football. Those notions hovered over Richts entire tenure in Athens.Still, Miami fans here have faith -- in the Canes, in the neighborhood talent, in the guy who they believe has finally righted the ship. The kids all line up around Richt and frame a U with their hands, just as cell phone camera flashes pop in all directions, the kids all yell in unison: Go Canes. cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '

CHAPEL HILL, N. Cheap Stitched China Jerseys .C. -- North Carolina struggled during a hurricane. Now the Tar Heels have to deal with the Miami Hurricanes.A debacle in a downpour led to an ugly first Atlantic Coast Conference loss of the year for UNC (4-2, 2-1), and now the Tar Heels know they have to be much better this week when they visit Miami (4-1, 1-1) -- which itself is stinging from a one-point loss to its most bitter rival. After looking at the film, North Carolina coach Larry Fedora said Monday, it wasnt any better. At least the Hurricanes could take some small consolation in that their loss to Florida State was competitive. The Seminoles blocked what would have been the game-tying extra point with 1:38 remaining in a 20-19 victory over Miami. You saw how we lost. You saw how they lost, quarterback Mitch Trubisky said. Were both going to come in hungry for a win.Nothing went right for the Tar Heels in a 34-3 loss to the Hokies , who proved much tougher than both UNC and the elements. Playing in a driving rain and amid gusting winds from Hurricane Matthew, the Tar Heels failed to score a touchdown for the first time under Fedora and were outgained by a more than 2-to-1 margin. And while some of those stats can rightfully be blamed on the weather -- UNCs 131 total yards, its fewest in a game since 1999, were in line with what some of their ACC neighbors gained in similar conditions -- they dont begin to explain how they were completely dominated by the Hokies. We were so inconsistent in everything we did, Fedora said. You could just pick and choose anything and something was going wrong. We just never did get going.Indeed, the Tar Heels just never looked anything like the team that rallied from 13 down in the final 6 minutes to beat Pittsburgh on a TD pass with 2 seconds left, nor the team that won at Florida State on a final-play 54-yard field goal to climb back into the national rankings.Trubisky threw his first interceptions of the year -- with the first ending a program-record streak of 243 attempts without one -- and was just 13 of 33 for 58 yards after hitting the 400-yard mark in his previous three games. Some of those struggles, of course, can be blamed on the heavy, waterlogged balls themselves.I just couldnt put what I want on it, he said.It didnt help that Elijah Hood was ruled out before the game because of an undisclosed injury from the previous week at Florida State, robbing the Tar Heels of their top tailback whose physical running style would have been helpful in the conditions. Fedora said he expects Hood to play this week against Miami, but added that he wont know anything until the team returns to practice Tuesday. You hope (having Hood) would help in the slop against the Hokies, Fedora said. But if he was playing like everybody else, it wouldnt have mattered, because it wasnt just one guy. It was multiple guys.---AP Sports Writer Aaron Beard in Chapel Hill contributed to this report.---Follow Joedy McCreary at His work can be found at college football site: Stitched MLB Jerseys China . - Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is not a fan of his teams use of the wildcat formation, saying "it makes you look like a high school offence.
